Teen Charged with Zombie Knife Threat in Birmingham Fight

On March 26, a 16-year-old boy from Birmingham has been charged with threatening someone with

a zombie knife after a fight broke out in the city center.

Police recovered the blade from Victoria Square, but say it was not used and no one suffered

serious injuries.

The disorder happened around 3.50 pm on Saturday amid some chaos in the busy public area.

Offices moved in quickly to break it up and make arrests.

For other boys aged 14-16 were also taken into custody on suspicion of violent disorder.

They have been released on bail as the investigation continues.

The main suspect was arrested just before 11 am on Thursday and charged with threatening

a person with a bladed article in public.

He is due in Birmingham Court on April 14, under strict bail conditions.

Police are now reviewing security footage from right after a nearby demonstration wrapped

up, working to piece together exactly what happened.
