America leads the world in medicine development. It matters. We get new medicines first, nearly
three years faster. Five million Americans go to work because we make medicines here at home,
and not relying on other countries keeps us safe. But China is racing to overtake us.
Will we let them? Or will we choose to stay ahead? When America leads,
America cures. Let's tell Washington to keep us in the lead.

I had to go about it, write it out, find it myself, and there's some stories I can tell you.
It's the final world, daily routine by one is by the latest release. Number one,
plaintiff law firm. I'm Daniel Northress. I am joined once again by Barrett Sundar-Rason,
but just for the avoidance of any doubt, this daily, the first of two days, is about the Australian
women test match against India. Later we will be bringing you the T20 World Cup final.
So if you've come for the T20 World Cup final, go away now. If you've come for the test match,
women's test match, we've got tube covered. I'm not going to spoil the result. I'm going to let Barrett
do that. And it's 30 seconds summation of the day, which he'll be almost as long as the actual day
itself. It will be. And before I start that, Daniel, once again, to your point of this being our first
the final world daily for the evening, I have braided hair. So Emma Friedman, now
legendary presenter and host for channel seven shows, she just, she said she's going to braid my
hair at the start of the test match and she has done that. So I will, however, by the time we get
to the World Cup final daily, go back to my normal long hair just so that there is a differentiation.
So Barrett with braids means the final world daily for the test match. Barrett with the usual
hair open means the World Cup final just to just to mix it up, Daniel. What am I going to do though?
I'm not going to have to change my hoodie. I think you should. Yeah. There you go.
Well, let it be a surprise for later. Yeah, let's do that. Yeah. So well, the 30 second summary,
like you said, for a very brief file, it looked like India might drag this game somewhere close to
the tea break, which is the first session break. And not quite make a match of it, but drag it
out long enough for potentially Alyssa, he'll need to have a final hit. It wasn't to be Pratika
Ravel fought hard. She made 63 and she did get some decent company from snareana who made 30,
but just after India and insured that Australia were going to bat again, they lost the
few of wickets. Alana King was unplayable on a pitch that turned and bounce. And Ash Gardner was
equally important at the other end. India made 44 runs on the day or for the day. That left
Australia to chase down 25, which they did rather comfortably. And even if they had lost
the wicket or two wickets, we wouldn't have seen Alyssa really walk out to bat because she had just
said, you know what, I want to maintain my test average of 20 or like she would say later on.
And that was it. So she did take a sharp catch today, though Daniel. So that was the summary of the
what, I are in a half of play we got today. So in a way, or I don't want to say this, the test
summer started with a two day test in Perth. You were there a long time ago when Travis head
against the run of play came out and made that 100, that famous 100 as opener. And we finished
with a test match, which again in Perth, which was gone just over two days. So this lasted
for at least half a session longer. Yeah, I mean, we should remind our list as it was on a different
surface. It was on the Wacker event. Wacker incidentally with crowd of three and a half thousand
on the first couple of days. But I guess trying to find things of unusualness today.
And the first five Indian wickets in the match felt a scene. And then the seventh to the 16th
wicket felt a scene. There was just one wicket to spin in the first innings, that of Richard
Gosh at the hands of Ash Gardner. But today, all four wickets felt a spin. So was the Wacker starting
to turn? You mentioned there that Alan and Keegan get much of a look in in the first innings,
just both the three over as none for 23 came in. And the ball really started to spin. I mean,
from what I saw, she was getting real purchase of the pitch. So this was a pitch that
would have, if the players have been able to just keep the game going, potentially have done
that thing that we always want to see in a pitch, which is, you know, start for the
Pacers and then start to turn. Is that right? Oh, it was probably the perfect pitch for
desk figure I've seen in Perth for a while now, where like you said, I mean, runs were scored,
obviously, we spoke a lot about Hannibal Sutherland and how brilliant she was with the bad yesterday.
And Ellie Spirigot runs as well. And Jimmy Maraudrick got that half century on day one. So runs
could be scored, but the seamers had a big say in the contest. Again, I mean, Lucy Hamilton on
debut finishing with six wickets, Hannibal Sutherland got four wickets, the Indian seamers.
Sally Shuttgarh was very impressive on debut. So was can't he? God, but like can't he? God, but
even yesterday, Daniel, there were balls from both Deepi Sharma and Snehrana, which is, which
were gripping and turning massively and coming into the third day of, I almost said third morning,
with her afternoon of the contest, they opened with Alana King. So at least I really went straight
to Alana King, which was a surprise to many because she hadn't balled too many overs in the first
and pretty much from the first over. And this is her home ground now. Alana King actually loved
this bowling here. She's got a great record at the waka. And you could see from the moment she
had that ball in her hand. She was eager to make an impact on a game where she was expected to make
an impact. And she was getting it to rip and turn and get pounds, especially who was it, the one
who's caught it silly point. I think it was Sally where the ball drifted. It honestly was like
watching Shane Worn at his best. It drifted, landed almost outside leg stump and jumped at the
right hand over. She just was hooked and just hit it straight to silly point. So no, I mean,
it was a masterful bowling, she had 10 oz of brilliant leg spin from Alana King. And even though
they started with Darcy Brown at the far end, they soon went to Ash Gardner. And she was the one
who made the first breakthrough. And from that point on, since she cleaned both snare and from
that point on, it was all Alana King, it was all Australia. Like I said, Alisa, he took a sharp
catch at first slip. She would be happy with that. Her final act, if you want to call it that,
on a cricket field as an international cricket or anyway. And that was good for India.
Since you mentioned that, because it's an abbreviated day, I'm going to get to what is my
shocker of the day. And it is that we didn't get to see Alisa Heelybat. I know she said jokingly
after she went to preserve that average of 20. But, you know, this game had been set up for
Alisa Heely. 299 matches she's played for Australia across formats. One viewer, the husband,
Mitchell Stark, who sits on exactly 300. The first two days were all a giant Alisa Heely loving.
And the fact that India did manage just about to set something at a target, so they'd have to
come out to bat. We discussed it yesterday, saying Phoebe Lidshield would be happy to
to sit this one out, for example, and let Alisa Heely play. I felt that that shocker,
I mean, in the absence of there being any real shockers in a one and a half days,
since everything was completely predictable. That to me, I would just have liked to see her
with the pads on, striking one last pugnacious blow through the offside,
then walking off with that beaming grin and into the commentary box for the next 25 to 30 years.
Because that's essentially what we're going to see. And speaking of shockers,
by the way, and how a superannuation is a delivery you don't want to miss,
Payday Super, which starts on the 1st of July, 2026. Make sure every pay is on the Super
scoreboard, every ball played, every run gets added, building your innings steadily.
Cebus, a sponsor of the final word, has general information about Payday Super at www.cebussuper.com.au.
Cebus has advocated for Payday Super for years. Payday Super laws start on the 1st of July,
2026. There might one of the biggest changes to the Super system in decades. A new laws will
mean that employers will have to pay Super at the same time as wages. Paying Super on Payday
makes it easier to track, help prevent unpaid Super and gets money invested sooner.
So, members benefit from long-term risk adjusted returns. Last financial year,
Cebus recovered almost $200 million, and over the past decade, more than 1.13 billion in unpaid
Super for our members. Visit cebussuper.com.au to read the BDS and TMD before determining
if Cebus is the right fit for you. Pass performance is not an indicator of future performance.
So, let's talk about pass performance because in many ways this match has been all about that.
The past performance of India over the last 20 years is not to have lost a test match,
however one should point out as a terrible indictment of the women's game. They've only played
nine test matches in the meantime. But nonetheless, it is the end of a street pass performance,
wasn't an indicator to present performance, and the other pass performance I want to dwell on
is that of Alyssa Healey. We talked a little bit about the nature of the fairwelling, but
this series, when she's been captain Australia her one, when she's not, not so much,
and she's going to be a big cap to fill. I know Sophie Moderny is perfectly capable around
cricket and a stoop tactical judge, but Australia are going to miss Healey, aren't they?
Massively. At the timing of her taking on the cap to see as well, Meg Lanning retired,
and at that point in Rachel Haines that retired just a while before that, and I heard
the great Lisa Thalekar talk about it today on commentary as well, about that moment in time,
the transition where they were already looking at that point. There couldn't be a Taliya
McGraw who takes over as a couple of years ago, wasn't it Daniel? Or do they look to what someone
like Ash Gardner? And for Alyssa Healey at that point, and she could easily have just continued on,
done what she does, which is have fun playing cricket, entertaining everyone, but for her to take
the response pretty then in a team which already had started seeing the transition,
kind of tells you about the kind of team player she is, and why she's been so widely popular
in Australia and cricket. And I think I'm going to stick my neck out and say, look, yes, I mean,
Elispery's Bradman. I mean, she's the Bradman of women's cricket, isn't she? Where,
you know, every reference point is Elispery. Like, you know, whether it's with a bat or ball or
longevity, T20 cricket, one day cricket, test cricket, all of it is Elispery. But when you talk
of influential cricketers, and I've had the privilege of having chats with Alyssa Healey where she's
spoken about what she's really interested in going forward. And it's, yes, it's commentary,
but she wants to really leave cricket in a better place than it was when she, and she
entered it, and not just women's cricket. She is very, very confident, and she's also very,
very, you know, very keen to have her voice for all cricket, like men's cricket, world cricket.
And she's highly opinionated because she's also a student of the game in that sense. She follows
everything. And there's one thing, I mean, you can't get away with just being half baked with
your cricket knowledge or information when you're having a chat with her. She's that kind of person.
So she is, I think, in my opinion, been in the top five most influential cricketers Australia has had
in this century, in the 21st century. And again, I mean, you talk of longevity. She's been doing
this for such a long time. Her earnings in that final, I think you mentioned it a couple of days
ago, in the T20 World Cup final six days, oh, sorry, six years to the day on March 8, 2020,
was probably probably go down as one of the most significant earnings in women's cricket history
to do it with Katy Perry and all of that, what 80,000 plus people at the MCG. So yeah, I mean,
she'll be missed greatly, not just as a player, which obviously big boots to fill for whoever comes
in place of her, but also as a, as a flag bearer for women's cricket and a flag bearer for
Australian cricket. And like I said, and like she loves to say, she's not going anywhere. So she
will not just be providing her expertise and commentary, but I can see her playing big role,
a bigger roles in in World Cricket and how it's run in the next two or three decades.
Well, I look forward to that. Now, we're going to take a break on the other side because it was such
a short passage of play today. We're not going to have a hall of fame. We're going to talk about
India and we're going to just have a little look at how the multi format series has gone and get
your assessments on that. But for now, we're going to take a short break. We'll be back in just a moment.

Have you got a really great comeback story of your own barrage? I mean, we all know the famous
ones, you know, people coming back from from following zone and the like. But have you got
your own comeback story? I mean, let's come back story. It is exactly. Yeah, it is. I mean,
it's a well publicized story now. It is. I mean, what are we? 2026. So next year, I'll be
celebrating 20 years of being alive. 20 years of not being dead, I should say, because I should
like I, I mean, I have told people quite often now. I should have died in 2027 or 2007 or 2027
I overdose for the second time on a bunch of drugs and other substances. And yeah, I mean,
my comeback is my story, really. My second innings, my second chapter, if you want to call it that.
I know you and I, when we are on together, we have a lot of fun, we joke around. And if we don't
take anything seriously, do we, Daniel, you and I most times. But yeah, I mean, this is something
which is very obviously personal to me. But also, I'm so happy that by me sharing my
comeback story, so often, like I am doing here, so many people seem to get impacted by it in a
good way. And yeah, I mean, like I always, I always end by saying, look, you know, when they say
there is a light at the end of the tunnel, yes, other people can see it when you are in that dark
hole. And more often than not, you can't see it. You have to go looking for it. But my advice or
my, whatever, my lived experiences that you have to keep reminding yourself of that, yeah, I can't
see the light that everybody else talks about, but it does exist. And it's like a, it's almost a
journey in finding that light at the end of the tunnel. And if you can do that, trust me, if I can
come out of where I was, you can as well. Now, that is an inspirational comeback story. We'll also
accept stories of your third grade 4th elever's dream. Coming back from either 105 with
two weeks ahead. But also, if you have an inspirational comeback story, as far as please do
share it with us, we've got lots and lots of time on the final word. We've got loads of loads of
loads of podcasts to make. So, indeed, you know, it's always good in reveling and to come back,
getting back on that. Come back so you said, absolutely. Now, what didn't happen today come
back wise was India coming back. It was always a really, really long shot, but we kind of know that,
I mean, we can assess this test match in isolation, but I'd rather assess their performance
in the round, actually, when England played the ashes, of course, last year, they were
thump 16 points to nil. Grace Harris famously thoroughly relishing every minute of it.
Fair play to Grace Harris for that as well. Well, indeed, indeed, far from disgrace themselves,
they went into this test match knowing that a win would give them the, well, they would draw
the series. So, you know, they kept the series alive, didn't they? Yeah, they were beaten in
the longer formats. Australia are that good for the longer of the game. You kind of expect
Australia to win, but they were also playing in very unfamiliar conditions. India's women will not
have faced that kind of bowling on that kind of wacker surface at all, really. So, how do you see,
how would you sort of mark their tour, if you like? Firstly, I think just speaking to a bunch of
them, and also to the coach, Amol Mozumdar, who, you know, he would have been my Hall of Fame
if this test match had gone on, because I met him the day before the test, and when I started
covering cricket in Mumbai years ago, 2008, Amol was captain, Amol was captain of Mumbai,
and he was one of those players, Daniel. I don't know how much you know, Amol Mozumdar, but he
scored pocket loads of runs for Mumbai, and one multiple Ranjitrophy titles for them.
And he was always considered as that one, the batter who should have played test cricket, but just
about missed out on playing at the highest level, you know, he played alongside Sachin Tendurukkar
and Vinod Karmali, and then later on with Vasim Jaffer, and captain in the likes of Ajinkaya
Rahane and Cohen, and just speaking to him before the test, you know, a couple of things. I mean,
they're coming off the WPL, they finished the WPL and literally jumped on a flight any
they arrive here, and not to forget, they are still, you know, their lives have changed since
November, right? You were there for their famous World Cup victory of theirs, and they've been on
the road busy, even if they're not playing cricket, they've been doing other stuff as they should,
because finally, they're getting an opportunity to be celebrated around the country. I mean, they've
had some amazing stories, right? And the fact that Richa Gosha comes from Siliguri with the same
city as Radeem Ansaha, she's getting a stadium named after him before Radeem Ansaha, or the fact
that Deepthi Sharma lives on the street, which is named after her, it's Deepthi Sharma Mar, or,
you know, the line that really stood out to me when I was doing my research is Shafali Warma,
young Shafali Warma saying, oh, I cut my head so that I could play cricket, but I also cut my
head so that other young girls in this country don't have to cut their, they want to play cricket.
I mean, we're talking about a revolutionary time in Indian women's cricket, not to give them any
excuses for not having won the test or lost the audience, but it's been a busy time for them. So,
even winning the T-20 ICDs, which no team had done, right? On Australian soil, to be this
indomitable Australian women's team on home soil. So they did that, and going back to our mole,
like, you know, you spoke about how this is the T-20 year. Yeah, I mean, they wanted to do well in
this test match, and in the one days as well. But they're very happy with the way they performed
in the T-20s, and there were a lot of changes in terms of personnel going from format to format.
So even though they've lost 12, 4, they'll still take a lot of positives from what they did in the
early half of the series. And I would assume they would go in as one of the favorites into that
T-20 World Cup in three months time or four months time. And, you know, and again, just just,
maybe let's just call it a hall of fame. To speak to someone who never got to play
test cricket, even though it looked for all money that he would. And just to joy on a mole's face
when he walked into the Wacker for the first time, and when he spoke about how, wow, I met the
Wacker today. In two days time, the girls I coach will be playing a test match. And in five months
time, they'll be playing a test match at lords. Like, just a wonder in his eyes. You know, it was such a,
that's so sweet to see. So I think, yeah, they will, they will look back and say, yeah, I mean,
we could have done better in the last odi cricket in the test match. But we spoke about it yesterday,
Kranti, God, you know, Sally, Shudgeray, the fact that these young women are just making their
debut and already playing like they belong at this level, Pratika Ravel on debut making 65, I looked
so composed. Unfortunately, she didn't have partners at the other end. It'll still be looked at as a
success. Yeah, that is the next test match, I guess, isn't it, at lords? Really looking forward to
that, hoping I'll get onto the commentary roster for that one. And as you say, the really big
upcoming women's competition now that's facing us is another T-20 World Cup. It's amazing.
Just finishing a men's T-20 World Cup. There's a women's T-20 World Cup around the corner,
and India looked really, really well sent for that. If they win it, wouldn't it be extraordinary,
if they were double world champions, 50 overs and T-20 at the same time. But if they're going to do
that, they're going to have to get past an Australian team on the new management, as Alissa
Yli says goodbye. And also an England team that you would expect to put up a better showing
in some of their home crowd. So there's going to be challenges coming up, but you'd have to say that
this series, I think, has showcased a lot of the best of women's cricket. And we're starting to see
the Australians being properly challenged. So still way out in front as this 10-wicked win proves,
but there are signs knocking on the door. It's time for us to say goodbye. Not for terribly long.
In a row, about five hours, we're going to be getting ready to go. Very much looking forward to that.
Before we go, just a quick reminder of the step one underwear off our code. I love this underwear,

I call it chemical warehouse for years, didn't I? No. It can't be that as well. Yeah.

briefly, I suppose finally, from the women's test match between Australia and India with Australia,
prevailing by the massive margin of 10 wickets. It's all been about saying goodbye to Elissa
