Tonight's guest is Harvey Floyd. Harvey, welcome to the show.
Hello, Vic. It's good to be on.
Well, it's good avenue. Not for the reasons that we're here, but it's still good avenue nonetheless,
but please give us a brief bio in yourself.
Well, I am 48 years old. I'm from Nashville, Tennessee. I've been here all my life.
I went to high school here and I'm a drummer, so I was in a rock band for the longest time.
That's why I do for a living and I'm a musician. So a very musical person.
And let's see, I like to go hiking and canoeing and just having a great time with friends.
Yeah, not very much to say besides that, you know, I'm just that going person and I'm just
very happy to be on the show and it was awesome to meet you yesterday for the first time and
had a great talk with you. But I'm here to just tell my story and tell as clear as I can
and as good as I can. Well, I'm so glad to give you a platform to do that. And like I told you
before, thanks so much for coming on. I do appreciate it. You've made a strong effort to keep your
encounter under wraps since it happened, Harvey. Have you shared it with anyone until now?
No, it's just my friend, Chris and David and that was also involved in this whole encounter thing.
But no, I haven't told anyone about this over 25 years.
That's a long time to keep this bottled up. It really is. You just mentioned, Chris and David,
unfortunately, Chris lost his life as a direct result of this encounter that you're going to
tell us about tonight. How often does that fact occupy your thoughts? Does it just once in a while
cross your mind or do you obsess on it still? Every day, every day, I think about Chris, you know,
and about this whole situation. And it's a pretty sad situation. It just ended up being
really painful to even talk about. But that's why I'm here.
Well, like I said, I'm glad to give you a platform. And I hope the fact that you're able to put
this out there on this public platform, it gives some kind of a form of healing. I really hope it does.
You've kept this bottled up for so long. What's the main motivating factor behind you wanting to
go public now with that encounter? About take us about time to come to terms with it and
and just let it go. I mean, the only way to let something go and get over it is to
tell the story, but you know, just just get off your chest.
Well, that's all about exposure when it comes to healing. So, yeah, I'm glad you decided that
you wanted to do that. I really am. From what I understand, you didn't start listening to the show
until earlier this week. Does that mean you didn't know what you had that encounter with until
this week or did you know what dogman were before you had that experience? I'd never heard of it
till recently. So it's something that's new to me and just my understanding. It's just something
that happened years ago and just couldn't be explained. Even though it was real and it was right
there in your face, but yeah, for years, I was in, you know, endowed about it and couldn't come
to grips with it. Well, that's understandable. Things like dogman aren't supposed to exist.
So yeah, that would make any difference from everyone else who doesn't know. The first time we
spoke, you said that you don't believe in Sasquatch. I'm not judging you now. I'm just asking,
how can you not believe in existence of Sasquatch after having the dogman encounter that
yeah? Well, because I guess, you know, I guess I never saw one. I guess if you've
you've never seen one, you kind of like, okay, maybe it doesn't exist. But with the dogman,
I really truly believe in that. So by us talking yesterday, I was thinking about it that's
night in this morning that maybe Bigfoot does exist somewhere out there. If this thing exists,
you know, it could exist too as well. Yeah, well, they definitely do. I can understand the
skepticism. I mean, after all, we've all been programmed to believe the things like Sasquatch
and dogman can't be out there, but they both are. You would just graduated from high school when
you had your encounter. That's awfully young to have such a profound experience with that in mind.
In what ways would you say that experience shaped the man that you grew up to be now?
Well, you know, I was young. I was 19. I just graduated at that May. And this happened on September
the 28th. This was the 28th. This was a day at the day after my birthday. My birthday was on that
Friday. So it really changed me as a person and made me really understand, you know, what life can
be and, you know, you could die at any minute. You know, your life wasn't taken for granted.
You know, like some kids, they think they could just live forever and nothing could never happen.
But with that experience, it was, it was a big reality check for me, especially for Chris.
I'm sure it was a big reality check. If you've had a dogman encounter that you need help dealing
with or if you'd like to be a guest on the show, please go to dogmanencounters.com and submit a report.
If you've had a big foot siding or like to be a guest on one of my two big foot podcasts,

Your encounter happened at Montgomery Bell State Park in Tennessee. What can you tell us about
the park and was that the first time you had been there? No, it was actually the second time.
We went on a class trip there a couple of years back before that. It was in 95.
But yet we decided that we, you know, I decided I wanted to go for my birthday. We were just a
couple of friends. Just had a great time, a little hiking and fishing and camping out for the weekend.
And me and my couple of my friends, Chris and David, of course, David really didn't want to go.
But I really assist on day. Let's go and go. You know, we could just have a good time, drink,
you know, at the time. But we decided to go. And David took his own
vehicle because he had to work the next day. So he was only able to stay with us for one day,
overnight at the campgrounds. Okay, Montgomery Bell is a really beautiful state park in Tennessee.
It's about an hour away from Nashville, our south of Nashville, and beautiful scenery. I mean,
it's miles and miles of Greenland. It's got the main campground, which you could take your RVs,
got hookups and all that. And it's also got a hotel room with a built next door. It's not
together in one building, but it was connected kind of with a big restaurant, like a ballroom.
And then down a little bit, ways you have like 15 to 20 small cabins, which you could, you could rent
for the weekend. Hey, there. It's Ryan C. Cress for Safeway. It's stock up savings time. Now,

I've got Dan Morgan here on the pod. Say hi, Dan. Hey, how's it going today? It's going
good, man. Tell us who you are and what you do. I'm Dan Morgan. I'm an attorney and a managing
partner at Morgan and Morgan, which is America's largest injury law firm. That's pretty awesome.
I think I saw Billboard years recently that said 20 billion one. 20 million is insane number.
Yeah, 20 billion recovered. It's actually, I think, somewhere north, probably closer to 22,
23 after this year. And each year we get bigger and better and our army grows. So the number will
hopefully keep getting bigger and bigger as time goes on. Awesome. So how does someone get in contact
with Morgan and Morgan? What would I do if I got into an accident? Probably the easiest way is
dialing pound law. It's pound 529 from your cell phone. We are always open. Our call center is
always waiting to take your call 24, 7365. Wow, Dan Morgan from Morgan and Morgan, America's
largest injury law firm. Thanks for coming by the show. Thanks for having me. Visit forthepeople.com
for an office near you. Back in those days, you was able to, uh, camp for free if you use your own
supplies like your, if you have your own, um, um, uh, tent and whatnot, you could use that in this,
but it's followed down near the creeks. There's a main creek and then there's, there
little creek runs into the lake, of course. Uh, which they use that spot for like levers lane,
you know, people, you know, couples go down there and whatever. And then on the other side,
is where we ended up being, um, capping out. Um, so we got there, we left Nashville around,
around 10-ish and we got there around 12 because we stopped at the store, got a few things,
then we went on down. Um, and then we went and signed in, you have to sign in, of course,
then you at the gate, then you go in, then there's like a 20-minute drive from the gate,
main gate to where, because you could park where, where you camp. Um, this is a big parking area.
So we went that area and parked, uh, got everything out. Chris had a, uh, a camper for his truck.
It's not a camper, but it's like a tent where you could just fold up and, you know, put it back
in the truck and it hooks on to your bed. And, um, and I had a tent and David had a tent. Well,
we said everything up, got ready for, you know, got the fire going and then we was right there at
the creek. So it was an awesome place to, to fish. I mean, it was a pretty deep creek and, um,
you know, the other side of the creek was, uh, nothing but forest, you know, Grimmins. Um,
but where we were at was pretty much a field, like not a field, but, uh, flat, flat spot.
There is no trees in that area. So we was able to look everywhere, you know, 360 look and
could see everything, of course. And, uh, oh, let's see. Uh, okay. Later that evening,
uh, after we went fishing and whatnot, we was, uh, just drinking and having a great time and
listening to music and, and eating and just talking, you know, about, you know, there was asking me,
how did it feel to, to be at a school, you know, and what are you going to do for the rest of your
life, you know, uh, I didn't really know what I was going to do. I was kind of like, you know, in
process of just having a good time, you know, um, just getting out of school that May and now that's
that September, the, the leaves were falling and the, it was so beautiful and it was chilly. It wasn't
cold, but it was just a nice day. Um, no weekend was nice. Um, so we, we did Friday night and then the
next day, um, David had to leave. He had to go to work. So he had to drop back to Nashville. Um,
so we helped him get everything together. You know, then we, you know, said by to him and he
went on his way and then, um, me and Chris decided to, to go for lunch, um, up, up the hill at the
restaurant, which the restaurant has nothing but glass walls. I mean, you can just look over the
whole place outside. It was awesome. Um, it's still very beautiful down there. So, um, so we decided
to eat there. And then, um, yeah, there were a few people, you know, was, you know, was asking
these questions about, hey, uh, have you ever been here? And I said, yeah, once before, I think it
was a couple of years back. And, um, and they was telling me that they had their, just had their
wedding anniversary there. So I was very happy about that and just, you know, saying congratulations.
Um, and then we went back to the camp, hung out for a little bit. Um, we had a boom box. We had like,
uh, you know, CDs. We just play CDs all day. And then we started fishing. And then, uh,
this was Saturday afternoon. And then, uh, we went hacking. Um, Chris, it was his idea. See,
Chris was, let me explain to you about Chris. Um, we was a year apart. It was Chris, myself,
and David, David, just started was about to start or just started is, uh, he was a, a senior in
high school. So he just started that. Um, and I just graduated and Chris graduated the year before
I did in 96. But it was, you know, Chris, you know, he's always been a big jock, you know, big,
big guy, you know, uh, didn't, didn't, you know, what's the scare of anything, you know, um, he was
a wrestler in high school all four years, um, and I played basketball all four years in high
school. So we kind of, that's how, you know, we really got to know each other. We got to meet
that way, uh, through sports. And, um, so he decided, hey, let's go, uh, uh, hiking. So we went
hiking in it, but government bail stay partners like 10, I think it was like nine or 10 different,
um, different routes you could go, you know, different trails. And he had to pick one of the
worst ones because it was up a hill and, and even back then I really just didn't want to go hiking.
So I was like, okay, let's go hiking then. So we went hiking and, um, oh boy, here we go. Um,
we went up this hill and it was real windy. And, uh, I had to stop, um, right in the middle,
I had to stop and rest. I just couldn't do it. And it was a big, big hill. So, you know, I told Chris,
go ahead, you know, I either, I either catch up with you or I'm gonna go back to the, you know, camp.
I mean, uh, just go ahead and go. And he went up, you know, so many feet and then he went
around this little curve. And I can see his head, but I couldn't see his body because the trees
and the bushes. But I remember him standing there and just looking forward, like, why does it
ghost? And I was looking over at him. I was like, hey, man, what, what you doing? What's going on?
And he didn't answer. And, and this happened for lease a minute or two. I mean, just,
he just stood in there. And I didn't hear anything, you know, I didn't hear any growling or anything,
but then he started screaming and hollering and, and he was running back. Now, as he was running
back, he fell and had to go help him up. And he said, let's, let's go back to the camp. He wasn't
even like, he wouldn't even talk to me about it until, until we got back to the camp. But even
when we got back to the camp, he just said, look, I saw some crazy stuff. I saw something really
crazy. And I, I believe, uh, you might not believe me, but I'm going to tell you anyways. So,
he told me I'm like, I was like, maybe it was a deer or something or, or maybe a bear, you know.
And he, uh, he says, no, I don't think so. I think it was, it looked like a, a big animal,
a big wolf type animal. And I was like, yeah, yeah, yeah, you know, I, I really was thinking he
was messing with me, you know, because he's always done that. He's always joked with me. So,
okay, so later, you know, we got back, you know, we, we was, uh, listen to some music and, um,
and then, uh, we ate, I drilled out some hot dogs and hamburgers and, and drunk a six pack and, um,
he, he didn't mention it anymore after that. And I, I know, I didn't mention it because
why should I, um, I didn't really believe in him at the time, but, um, but later that evening, um,
it was around dark, it just got dark. Um, there's a spot. There's this brick wall,
little brick wall. And that's where they kept the wood for the, for the, you know, for the
fire pit. Well, I'd grab some wood, but, you know, you know, kept the fire going. And it was windy.
It was, I remember it was so windy, uh, because, uh, my tent kind of, the little spikes came out
of the ground on one end on one side. And he had to help me put the spikes back in the ground
for, for my tent. It was so windy. Hey, there, it's Ryan Seacrest for Safeway. It's stock up

It was starting to get clouded up. I can see it's kind of cloudy, you know. And so, oh, this is
difficult. Would you like to take a little break before you dive into it? Oh, no. Oh, no, I'm
going straight in. Okay. We were sitting there. We was listening to that song, Inter Sad Man.
I know it wasn't an interesting man. It was unforgiven by a Metallica. I remember this song
came on right at the time this happened. And we heard some movement in the bush across the way
from the creek on the other side of the creek. And Chris says, that's probably it. I'm like,
what are you talking about? It could be just a deer. I mean, there's deer all over this place.
He says, I'm telling you, man, it's not. And I'm like, was laughing at him. You know, he's like,
oh, shut up and listen to the music. You know, I mean, we was, you know, we, we was
burrito just, just yelling at each other like, hey, just shut up. You know, just have a good time
and just relax, man, because there's nothing out there that's going to hurt you. He says,
oh, okay, okay. So this, this sound was happening off and on for about an hour. And then all of a sudden,
howling, the worst howling that it's like American Werewolf and London, where David and Jack was
walking, you know, up this hill, you know, and they hear the howl in the back, you know, in the
background. It's louder than that. And it had an echo to it. But it was more metallic than just
the echo. It was more like a click, click, click, click, click, click, click, with it, which didn't
make sense to me. But yeah, it's, it's, it's sounded awful. It sounded like nothing I ever heard
before. And, and, and it, it, it, when it happened, it was so loud, it, it, it made me jump at him
jump, you know, like a scared jump. And I was like, I stood there for a minute. I said, did you,
did you even hear that? He says, yes. And I said, that's not, that's not right. That's not,
something's really close to us. And so, but it kept, it kept howling. It just like,
it's like, it wouldn't stop, you know, it wouldn't stop howling. It just kept on, kept on, kept on.
Then, the worst I could, I could, I could think that it could be as, as a wolf, which they do,
we do have wolves here in Tennessee. We also have a lot of wildgain like, we have black bears,
we have a lot of raccoons, things like that, but I've never seen a wolf,
even heard of a wolf in person. So, that was the first. And it really bothered me. And then,
about an hour, maybe an hour and a half later than that, like later, it was about nine o'clock
at night, more like almost tenish. The fire was going right, you know, I put more wood on the
fire and we were just sitting back, you know, in the lawn chairs, just sitting back, listening,
you know, music. And, and something came out of the woods as the, on the side of the creek.
And it, and it kind of made like it was playing in the creek. I could hear the water. I couldn't see
past, past, because the, it was so dark, you know, there, there was no stars out. There was no lights
out. I mean, around just a fire. That's the only light we had. And that only went so far.
It didn't go past the creek. So, we was hearing something splashed around and I was like,
maybe that's a deer, drinking water, you know. And then it came a little bit closer and Chris
hard around and was staring at it. And here I am. I'm like drinking a beer and just,
just like jamming with the music and he said, hey man, look at that. And I looked and I,
you know, I wear glasses, but back then I didn't wear glasses. Some eyes were really, really great.
I was able to see it right off the bat. If that would have happened now,
it would have to be in my face for me to see it. But it was there. It was dark. It was like a,
a shadow. I didn't see any detail at that time. I did it. We're back into the woods. I saw
the shadow move back into the woods and I was looking at the trees and it went across and it came
back out on the other side. And it was now it was close to us. Now it was right in front of us,
not in front of us, but it was just crossed the creek. So we weren't really close to the creek.
So there was about 30 yards from the creek. So we was far away from the creek. So it got close to
where we could now, the moon is shining at the east of us. And now the moon is shining real
bright. So we was able to see it. Plus the fire, we could see it. It had very fine hair.
Not very long. It's not like dog man that we know like that everyone knows, like the listeners,
they know dog man very well. They know the stories and they know what it looks like. It doesn't,
it didn't have a long mane. It didn't have a, it had a lot of hair, but it was very fine. And it
looked like it didn't have hair, you know, had a very long snout, long teeth. But it was missing one,
it was missing one of its canines, the bottom canine. I remember it missed one of them. They didn't
have one. So it ended up like he was pretty messed up, like scarred up. A lot of hair was missing
from his face and his head. Ears was pointed up, like a dome and pincher point straight up.
But I could see his muscles, I could see the, because it was moving. And while it was moving,
I could see the muscles, you know. And that freaked me out so bad. We both stood there.
Well, we were sitting down. We were sitting, we were sitting down, staring at this thing.
And our face has turned white as a ghost man. And Chris, to be as tough as he is,
didn't, you know, wasn't afraid of anything. He started crying. He started crying. And believe me,
I wanted to, it was like it looked through your soul. And we were staring right at it. It's like,
I was staring at his eyes. Yellow is green, light like an emerald green, but it was lighter than
that. It was more yellowish. But you can see his eyes very well. And you can see his teeth very well.
And the whole time, this thing was aggressive. The most aggressive thing is like a rabbit dog.
This thing was growling the whole time. Turn was sticking out. Slava was going down his face,
his mouth. And, and he was just going back and forth. But he had his head on, like he had his
sights on us the whole time. He was going back and forth, trying to figure out, okay,
which one am I going to get first? You know, it was kind of like that, like a primal,
hunting primal thing, you know? And, and, you know, I never went, you know, I've never
shot an animal or I never went hunting. But, you know, but Chris had. So he knew all about the way,
the way they act, you know, when they're about to attack, you know? So this whole time,
it seemed like forever. But it was only like 10 minutes. This thing was going back and forth.
Just, just staring at us, didn't take his eyes off of us. Then he would look at me, then he'll
look at him. But the whole time he was growling, and he was the deepest growl that I've ever heard
in my life, the deepest growl. And it was so deep, it shook my, hoenced, my chest, you know?
And I swear to God, my heart stopped for like two or three seconds. I couldn't breathe.

Every time it did that, I just couldn't breathe. Dan started howling. It made this big
couple of howls. So loud. My ears popped at the same like it popped. But it started ringing.
And I was so frozen and fear. I couldn't even put my hands up against my ears to cover my
ears. I was just sitting there and and it just my whole body tensed up. Like, am I going to die
tonight? But this whole time Chris is over there like crying and just like just standing there.
And every time it or how Chris will jump and he was shut up, you know, he wouldn't cry anymore.
Because he knew a crying might set this thing off. Just like I almost pray.
So this thing just walked, walked, walked. Then it finally gave out one more how.
Then it turned around and ran off. And I can hear this thing hit that creek. Go over the creek
and into the woods. And for like five or 10 minutes, I couldn't move. My brain could not
just couldn't process what the heck I saw. I didn't know what I saw. All I know is I saw something bad.
You know, I knew it wasn't anything paranormal. But I knew it was something that I couldn't
explain that I know I couldn't say anything to nobody about. And I have to carry this for the rest
of my life now that no one's never going to believe us. And I told Chris that after I snapped
him out of, you know, this trance that he was in pretty much because the thing had us in a trance.
I couldn't speak. I wanted to yell. I couldn't yell.
There's a lot of things I couldn't do that I wish I would have. But I was just stuck in fear.
And Chris says, whatever this thing was, it wanted to kill us. This thing was going back and forth.
We're looking at both of us, trying to figure out which one am I going to kill first? Which one
am I going to attack first? You know how like a wild animal, like let's say a lion or tiger,
how they would go back and forth? That's what this thing was doing. But this whole time,
this thing was growling, nonstop. And I've heard stories about these things that they don't make
noise that much. They're not very aggressive. But this thing was very, very aggressive.
This thing was the worst thing that that could ever happen when it comes to these type of encounters.
You do not want an aggressive dog man. Or whatever this thing was. Because the more aggressive these
things get. And just like you told me, Vic, yesterday, these things go off of fear. So I wish I
would have known that then that this thing, if we would have just got up and ran and got into the
truck, it took off right then. Maybe things would have been differently. But I think what happened was
it knew it got us. And it knew that it scared us. But it wasn't done yet.
After we got everything together, like our selves together. And we was able to talk.
I was working down that I would never be able to deal with it. And I knew that. And Chris had the
worst time with it. But the thing was so scary. When I wanted to just tell everyone that
that they've heard these stories that this thing was unlike any dog man.
Paulie, I mean, I've been watching videos today of dog man. And I've heard stories day of dog man.
And I can never, you know, there was not one story that I've heard so far that even
appears to this. This is like the scariest of the scariest encounter that I've ever
could imagine anybody to go through. The only thing that it didn't do was attack us at that moment.
I think it was trying to see what we're all about. It was trying to test us.
And it did its job. It won. It won. It got most of you got our attention.
You know, at that time. But it was all marked up. It was all scarred up. It was like it just
got into a big, big fight with something. And there was hair missing. The whole side of its face
was no hair. It was like it was all missing. Are you seeing with skin?
But red. It had red like scarring. So I saw that around its muzzle. You know, it's now. So
it looked really bad, like scary, scary. But it was real. I smelt it because the wind was blowing
towards us. And we could smell. Smelt gamey. Smelt like. Like a old dog's been like a wet dog.
That's exactly what it smelled like. Like a wet dog. Yeah. And then, um, then after. Yeah. After
that, it just got worse. It just got worse.
Before you tell us what happened next, do you want to take a break now?
No, big. Um, I think I could. I could go. I could go on from here. Um,
uh, do you have any questions about, you know, that so far? Do you have anything to say?
I do have questions, but I'm going to wait until you're all done telling us about everything
that happened that night. Please remember, if you need any breaks, feel free to take them.
Don't rush, but whenever you're ready to continue, please do. Okay, big.
Okay. About 45 minutes from that later. Um, we decided to leave, but we left in a hurry.
Um, I left everything. I left everything behind. We left everything behind.
The radio was still playing. Um, and it was playing that song. Nothing else matters
by because we had the CD of Metallica playing it was playing. Nothing else matters.
And what a song at that time to be playing in those woods. And we was getting everything,
you know, we was trying to get what we could and we just left everything behind.
And then we got to the truck. We got in the truck, close door,
rolled the windows up real, you know, real fast. He couldn't start the truck. The truck wasn't starting.
There was an old 90, 1990, one Ford. It was an old truck, a four by four. So he tried to start,
it won't start. It won't start. And then see, back in those days, we didn't have, like I said before,
the, the, um, we didn't have the, the electronics that we have now or the technology, uh,
to have a cell phone that we could call 911, uh, to, um, to go online or whatever, uh,
we didn't have YouTube and Facebook. So we, we kind of had to do things ourselves, like if,
and the worst part though is up in those mountains, there's no signals. So we did have a flip phone,
but a, a razor, a old razor, but it didn't have a signal. So we couldn't call 911. We couldn't call out.
So, uh, but we did have this little thing with the, um, it was like a battery charger,
but it just had enough charge to start at one time. You know, that's when they first came out.
So we, uh, plugged it up, but it took 15 minutes because the red light, it had a meter.
And once it gets up to 100, that means it's ready for you to start it, but it had one charge only.
So we had to make this work. So we waited 15 minutes, 15 minutes, the whole time I was staring at,
at the camp. So now I'm like, maybe, uh, see how many yards, maybe
20 yards from the fire pit. So it's pretty good, you know, ways.

I've got Dan Morgan here on the pod. Say hi, Dan. Hey, how's it going today?
It's going good, man. Tell us who you are and what you do.
I'm Dan Morgan. I'm an attorney and a managing partner at Morgan Morgan, which is America's
largest injury law firm. That's pretty awesome. I think I saw Billboard
years recently that said 20 billion one. 20 million is insane number.
Yeah, 20 billion recovered. It's actually, I think, somewhere north probably closer to 22, 23
after this year. And each year we get bigger and better and our army grows. So the number will
hopefully keep getting bigger and bigger as time goes on. Awesome. So how does someone do in
contact with Morgan Morgan? What would I do if I got into an accident? Probably the easiest way
is dialing pound law. That's pound five two nine from your cell phone. We are always open or
call centers. Always waiting to take your call. 24 7 365. Wow, Dan Morgan from Morgan and Morgan,
America's largest injury law firm. Thanks for coming by the show. Thanks for having me.
Visit forthepeople.com for an office near you. I was staring. Make sure this thing just
just doesn't come back. Doesn't come back. Once we got this thing to start, we got into the truck.
And then once you start the truck, I was looking back. This thing jumped onto the back of the truck
on the bed. And I swear to you, this is real. This is not nothing like any nightmare that I've
ever read. This thing jumped on the truck. It was so heavy. The back of the truck went down. I could
hear the shocks. Just like having a ton of bricks. Just slam it on your bed. That's what it felt like.
We took off. But before we took off, this thing was clawing at the window. It was clawing.
This thing was clawing on top of the roof of the truck. It was clawing.
And then once he stepped on the gas, he floored it.
This thing fell off.
And then once it fell off, we could hear the scratching, the scratching,
him trying to hold on or grab something. So this was very real.
And we took off and we went up to the gate. And there was no one around. There were some
cap sites, but while we were leaving the site, I could look back
at this thing. He was running towards. He was trying to chase the truck. Then he stopped and
went back where the fire pit was in the tent. And he started tearing up the tent. He grabbed
the radio and he slammed the radio. Just went crazy and just tore everything up. And he started
like howling. And just it was so crazy. It was like a wild animal, like a wild like
mage dog, you know, just went totally crazy. I don't know if it was mad that we was leaving,
that it didn't get us. I don't know. I still can't figure that out. But we got back to natural.
This was around 12.45 in the morning. It was, you know, all this took place within two or three
hour time. So we got back, I think it was around one o'clock in the morning when we got back to
Nashville. He stayed with me that night. And that Sunday, the next day, we went to David's house
and told David. This is what became of the friendship with David. David did not understand.
And he did not want to understand. And he thought we were just crazy. Or we were just drunk
the whole night and we saw things. And there was a big fight, big argument.
Chris went totally ballistic. He went totally nuts over this. And that
it destroyed our relationship with David, our friendship.
So that's a sad moment, you know. And I have, I've already talked to David one other time,
maybe a year or two ago. He got married and had kids and moved to Alabama.
But yeah, I didn't bring it up to David. Even though we're not really friends anymore,
it took us, I haven't talked to him in 25 years. But I did call him a couple of years ago.
And, you know, and just talked, I didn't see anything about it. I didn't never brought up
being a thing like that. But he did mention about Chris, though.
Well, let's go back to Chris. After this whole encounter, Chris was never the same after that.
The men are changed. His way of living changed. His way of thinking changed.
He was very emotional, very aggressive. He was very abusive to his girlfriend.
And every time he'll get mad, he'll do something crazy. You know, he had a death wish.
There's one time I was not there, but his girlfriend was. He got out of his truck at the train
tracks and jumped on a train because they had a little argument. And understand, there's cars
behind him, you know, waiting for the train to go, but the train was slow. You know, it was really
a real slow. He got out in the middle of the street and jumped on a train. And he jumped off
like a couple of miles down or whatever. He was really far down. And it took him a while to get
back to the truck. But yeah, people were upset and the cops were called. And he got in trouble for
it. He got a big ticket for that. But then this was a 97. And 19, let's say 2000.
Of August, the 10th of 2000, he got mad again at his parents or somebody. And he got on his
bike and he just got a new spider, you know, dirt bike. And he went without his helmet and he was
acting crazy on the bike. And he went, he was going 100 miles an hour and he hit this, he lost
control and he flew off the bike and hit the drainage ditch and knocked his head and he died on the
spot. And his girlfriend came and got me and I went up there and he was laying there. So, you know,
that we all live a couple of blocks from each other. So this happened right where I live. So
it was, it was very sad that this whole time he went through what he went through because of
this experience. He's always told me that this thing ruined his life. It just totally ruined his
life. He had nightmares every single night. He had night sweats. You know, I didn't go through a lot
with it. I think, I think between both of us, I think I took it better. You know, me, I was trying
to pretty much want to understand what this thing was and was very intrigued with it. Like, I
really want to know what this thing was. But Chris, he thought it was a demon. He thought
as his family is Catholic. So he really felt like he was possessed or even that he was kind of
cursed, you know. But he was never the same after that. We really didn't get along with each other
or to, you know, but we were still friends. But it's pretty sad that he died with his own
his heart and without being able to deal with it and get the help that he needed, that he needed,
you know, from the whole encounter. But myself, I tried to understand and I tried to
take this experience that I had back in those days and make it into something positive
I dealt with it for long, long time, 25 years. And took me a couple, you know, a couple of days ago,
I figured out, look, I need to say something. I need to let this story be out there. And I need
to tell everyone this story that even had this experience or had an experience like this.
I believe you could get through anything if you really have to. But if you really want to,
I think that's what you need to do. And in this very emotional and it grips your heart and
this thing was very evil. It was like seeing the devil. You know, I really felt like I saw the devil.
But it was dog man of what I've read and trying to get to what I, you know, looking at photos of
what it could be. This thing looks kind of like that, but it looked more evil than anything. The
eyes were more slanted. Instead of, you know, and then missed a couple of teeth and they just
made it look more creepier and the hair was missing. So it was black. Hey there, it's Ryan

It was all black, straight black, including the body part. You know that you can see the skin.
It was all black. But you know, Chris was, he was the outcome of this whole thing. I think
if the dogman wanted to kill us, he already took Chris, but he took Chris a different way.
He might have not killed Chris, but I think Chris, he took Chris out in a different kind of way.
Emotionally, I think he drained his spirit or he drained his body of everything that he was.
And he robbed him of his personality. He robbed him of the life that he could have had.
You know, he turned Chris into something that I did not
didn't realize at the time that it was a totally different person.
I didn't know him anymore. But it didn't change me in that way. It changed me. I think it changed
me in a different way. It made me want to do, it made me want to process this a different way.
And it wanted me to talk about this. Some kind of like the spokesperson of Chris, you know,
of trying to take care of the situation at hand by talking about it and making it well-known
to everyone that this thing does exist. And I'm telling you, I did not believe in any of this stuff
beforehand. But it only took me a couple hours to see it. I was a true believer.
Even I didn't know what it was at the time. You know, but now I know. And I truly believe that
this thing is real. And it's out there, especially Montgomery Bell. I mean, it's so beautiful,
so so thick of wood, the wooded areas. I believe it goes from miles to miles to miles. So I believe
it's out there somewhere. And it's still out there. But my experience, you know, it took me 25
years of doubt. And like just didn't know how to get the word out. And I didn't have the platform
to do so. But with Vic, you know, when I met Vic yesterday, Vic, I think he really helped me out
to give me a certain understanding on how to deal with this thing in this situation.
It might have been 25 years, but it still seems like it was this weekend, you know, just happened.
I mean, sometimes I just get that feeling of dread. Then that's what it does. It drains you
from every positive fiber in your body. And it gives you dread. It gives you remorse. It gives you
the sadness. Exactly what it did to Chris. He was so depressed. He was so saddened. I mean,
yeah, I would try to take him out to have a good time, try to, you know, like friends should do.
He just could, he just would not laugh. He stopped laughing. I think it took that away from him.
I think it took it made him into what it was, you know, because he turned to a very aggressive guy.
So I don't know, man, it just happened. And I have to deal with it like we all do.
You have to deal with it, but definitely not alone. Like I told you yesterday,
anytime you need help, always be there for you. You'll never going to be left alone to deal with
this. So please never forget that. But having said that, Harvey, I've got a lot of questions to
ask you, but we don't have nearly enough time for me to go over all these. But I do have one question
I want to ask you before we get out of here. And that question is, all these years later,
if you could go back and share one thing with Chris, what would that be?
If you would have lot lived, I believe if you would have lived, I would have
tried to get him help. I believe I should have gotten him help then. But how could I help him if I
needed help too? You know, how could I help somebody that I could even help myself? You know?
I mean, you can't help someone if you can't help yourself. You know, it's just like, you know,
you see somebody drowning and you go to help them. And then they, you know, end up taking you
under with them. So you have to let them go. That's just the way it was with him. I try to be a good
friend. I try to be there for him. But at the same time, I couldn't even be there for myself.
It really is a bitter pill. You did all you could to help him. But like you said, you were not
in a place to offer much help. So there's only so much you could do. Your options were really
limited. And also as you know, sometimes you can't help certain people. It just happens that way
sometimes. But yeah, please don't be too hard on yourself about that. Like I mentioned earlier,
I don't have any time now to ask all these questions I have for you, Harvey. But would you be
up for coming back to do a Q&A? Yes. I'll be open for that. Well, great. Yeah, that's what we'll
do then. We'll just have a Q&A and we'll get into all these questions then. But I'm so sorry,
you had to go through all this. I'm so sorry that Chris had to go through all this and all this
happened in the first place. I really am. But thanks again so much for your time and have a great night.
