There are five things that you must know about Epstein bar virus.
1:05
Now, why is it so important to know more about this virus?
1:09
Well, simply because chances are pretty great that you have this virus and it could potentially
1:14
create a problem in your life.
1:16
And so the more you know about it, the less you are going to be adversely affected by
1:22
Roughly 95% of the population has this virus.
1:27
So that's greater than 9 to 10 people.
1:30
So this virus definitely pertains to you and having this information can greatly protect
1:36
you against a problem with this virus.
1:38
So Epstein bar virus is called the kissing virus because a lot of times people get it when
1:44
they're in their teenage years, but even children can get it as well.
1:49
But they are usually asymptomatic and probably because Epstein bar virus primarily attacks
1:56
a certain immune cell called the B cell, B lymphocyte.
2:00
And that's part of the acquired immune system that develops as you get older.
2:04
But that's just my theory.
2:06
It could be another reason.
2:08
But this information is based on this new book that I'm reading called latency strategies
2:13
of herpes viruses, okay?
2:17
I show this to my wife and she's like, well, I'll let you read it first.
2:21
She has absolutely no interest in reading this book, but she appreciates me reading it
2:26
and summarizing it for herp.
2:28
But this book is all about the strategies that the herpiviruses use to go underneath the
2:35
radar and survive and live in your body.
2:39
And this term latency means that the virus goes in a dormant state.
2:45
It hides in your body and it's very difficult for your immune system to detect if not impossible.
2:53
So there are certain viruses that when you get infected, they stay in your body and they
2:59
can potentially come out in certain environments.
3:03
Other viruses are killed and they can be eliminated from the body.
3:06
The latent viruses stay in your body.
3:09
So number one, and we're going to get to five things.
3:11
The Epstein bar virus is in the family of the herpes virus and it's one of the viruses
3:16
that can go into this latent phase.
3:21
So you get infected, it creates a lot of problems with your throat, glands.
3:25
It can create severe fatigue and achiness of the joint.
3:29
And I had it when I was, I think in 10th grade and it was terrible.
3:35
I couldn't breathe because my throat was so close down and I just had to wait it out
3:40
and kind of get through it, but it can be pretty nasty.
3:43
And then after a period of time, it can fully kind of go away.
3:47
You know, usually you could take two, three, four weeks, okay?
3:51
And then in your mind, you're like, okay, that's gone, I'll never get that again, right?
3:55
Well, here's the thing about Epstein bar virus.
3:58
You can never get rid of it.
3:59
You have to just focus on keeping it in remission, which has everything to do about understanding
4:06
the sneaky little tricks and strategies that this virus uses to survive.
4:11
And then what you can do to help your own immune system keep this thing at bay.
4:16
Once you get this virus, you cannot get it out of the body.
4:19
Well, actually, I lied.
4:20
There is one way that you can get it out of the body and I learned that in this book.
4:25
You can get rid of all your bone marrow and replace it or transplant it with a new bone
4:30
marrow from someone who does not have this virus.
4:34
But that might be a little impractical.
4:37
So the first thing to know is that we can't get rid of it.
4:40
So the goal should be to keep it in remission.
4:45
But so wild about viruses, especially this virus, is the sophistication of strategies that
4:55
it has developed over a long period of time to stay alive and do its damage when viruses
5:04
really are supposed to be not alive.
5:08
They're just this genetic material wrapped in the sack.
5:11
But it's very, very mysterious on how they can be dead, but live off your cells and
5:17
develop all these wild strategies, which I'll get into a few.
5:21
The second thing you need to know is the Epstein virus is associated with the increased
5:27
risk of certain cancers, autoimmune diseases, rheumatoid arthritis is associated with Epstein
5:34
virus, chronic fatigue syndrome as well as fibromyalgia.
5:40
So when the virus gets reactivated, it doesn't necessarily exhibit all the full-blown symptoms
5:47
that maybe you had when you first got it.
5:50
It may manifest in fatigue, soreness, lethargy, brain fog, achy joints and achy muscles.
6:00
This is Andrew Huberman, host of the Huberman Lab podcast.
6:03
I'm excited to share that the performance I wear company Roca and I have teamed up to
6:07
create a pair of red lens glasses.
6:10
These are meant to be worn in the evening after the sun goes down.
6:13
They filter out short wavelength light that comes from screens and from LED lights, which
6:17
are the two most common indoor lights nowadays.
6:19
I want to emphasize that these are not traditional blue blockers.
6:22
Yes, they filter out blue light, but they also filter out all the other wavelengths of
6:26
light that can suppress your melatonin and other hormones which can degrade your sleep.
6:30
By wearing these glasses in the evening, I find it much easier to wind down at night
6:34
and it makes the transition into sleep greatly improved it.

7:21

7:23
Maybe your glands are a little bit swollen.
7:25
And number three, and this is very interesting.
7:28
This sneaky virus blocks, through various mechanisms, the key immune nutrients that
7:36
your cells depend on to keep them functioning correctly.
7:42
The first vitamin that will go after is vitamin D.
7:45
I mean, it has the ability to take your receptors for vitamin D and downgrade them.
7:52
So it would be like sticking an ear plug in your ear so you can't hear as much.
7:56
So it affects the receiving end of vitamin D, because somehow this virus knows that vitamin
8:03
D keeps your immune system strong, and it's intimately involved with every part of your
8:10
So if it can block that, it has an advantage, okay?
8:13
So it downgrades the receptor of vitamin D.
8:16
It binds to the receptor, okay, so it binds with it blocks that.
8:21
It also interferes with the metabolism of vitamin D.
8:25
So now you can't go from the inactive to the active vitamin D, and it affects the absorption
8:31
of vitamin D in your gut.
8:33
Now the second nutrient that it interferes with is zinc.
8:38
It interferes with the zinc transporters not allowing zinc to be transported to the different
8:45
parts of the immune system.
8:47
So if your immune system is deficient in zinc, it can't release the weapons that the
8:52
immune system needs to destroy viruses.
8:55
There's a lot of research of using the active form of vitamin A retinal to inhibit the
9:03
So it blocks the absorption of vitamin A.
9:06
And this is really important to know because vitamin A is essential in mucus membranes and
9:12
producing the mucus barrier to prevent this virus from invading the tissues.
9:18
And so this is just another reason why making sure you have enough vitamin A, vitamin D,
9:23
and zinc in your diet is so important.
9:27
And on top of that, remember when I mentioned that the Epstein-Barr virus has a primary mechanism
9:34
of attacking the B lymphocytes, okay, well it just so happens that the primary nutrient
9:42
that the B lymphocytes need is vitamin A retinal.
9:46
All right, so now that you have that, there's another thing that Epstein-Barr virus does
9:54
It has the ability to bypass your immune system's regulation of temperature during a viral
10:03
So basically, it can prevent you from getting a fever.
10:07
So you might think that's a good thing, but you have to realize that your immune system
10:10
heats up to actually inactivate viruses.
10:15
You have this reactivation of this virus and you're tired, your brain fog, but maybe you
10:20
don't have a fever to help you get rid of it.
10:23
So it just lingers on for a week after week, month after month.
10:27
This is kind of important information because if you start to feel maybe some of the symptoms
10:32
or subclinical symptoms of an Epstein-Barr virus infection, you should be going into the
10:40
You should be taking a hot bath.
10:42
You should be trying to induce some type of a fever in your body by maybe wearing a lot
10:47
of clothes while you're in bed to stay really hot and stay out of the cold temperature that
10:54
The fifth thing that you need to know, emotional stress and more specifically, things related
10:59
to loss of a loved one, loss of money, loss of anything or any emotional stress.
11:07
In practice, I've noticed nearly 100% of the time people that had autoimmune diseases,
11:14
people that had chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia always had emotional stress.
11:21
Think about what stress does, stress activates cortisol.
11:24
What does cortisol do?
11:25
It suppresses the immune system.
11:28
It opens up a door for these viruses to come out and create a lot of problems.
11:32
The importance of this or the significance of this is for you to start to really focus
11:37
more on dealing with stress than any other factor since if you can resolve the stress somehow,
11:45
you can actually put this thing back in remission.
11:47
There's other things that can also activate this virus out of remission, certain toxins,
11:53
pollution, chemicals, drugs, the contraceptive pill.
11:58
Yeah, that can increase your risk of having a come out of remission.
12:01
Your infections like the cold, like flu, COVID, even certain vaccines like the COVID vaccine
12:10
can bring this thing out because of what it does to the immune system and also steroids
12:15
like prednisone or certain medications that are steroid base can actually activate this
12:23
Exema is unpredictable, but you can flare less with eggless, a once monthly treatment for
12:28
moderate to superior eczema.
12:31
After an initial four-month or longer dosing phase, about four and ten people taking
12:34
eggless, achieved itch relief and glare are almost glare skin at 16 weeks.
12:38
And most of those people maintain skin that's still more glare at one year with monthly
12:42
Emplus, LibriKizumap, LBKZ, a 250-milligram per 2-milliliter injection is a prescription
12:46
medicine used to treat adults and children 12 years of age and older who weigh at least
12:50
88 pounds or 40 kilograms with moderate to severe eczema.
12:53
Also called atopic dermatitis that is not well controlled with prescription therapies
12:56
used on the skin or topicals or who cannot use topical therapies.
12:59
Eczema can be used with or without topical corticosteroids.
13:02
Don't use if you're allergic to eczema, allergic reactions can occur that can be severe.
13:06
Eye problems can occur.
13:07
Tell your doctor if you have new or worsening eye problems.
13:09
You should not receive a live vaccine when treated with eczema before starting eczema.
13:13
Tell your doctor if you have a parasitic infection.
13:15
Ask a doctor about eczema and visit eczema.com or call 1-800-LilyRX or 1-105-595-979.

Because a steroid is cortisol and cortisol suppresses immune system.
13:56
So yes, it gets rid of the information and makes you feel better temporarily when a
14:01
little bit later, all of a sudden now you end up with more outbreaks.
14:06
The plan number one is concentrate more on this very, very important factor of stress.
14:12
Do whatever you can to resolve the stress, chronic stress, especially if you're kind of stuck
14:17
between rock and hard place with whatever.
14:20
That can be probably the most important thing to do to keep this thing in remission.
14:26
And of course, if there's any other triggers like taking birth control pills and you notice
14:31
that this virus comes out every time you take that pill, then you're going to have to come
14:37
Number two, make sure you're getting enough vitamin D, zinc and retinol.
14:41
It just so happens that there is one thing that has a really nice balance of vitamin D
14:48
And that is cod liver oil.
14:51
And there are some natural herbs that can help suppress viruses, especially the Epstein
14:57
I put some research down below specifically on these herbs that I'm going to mention.
15:01
I'm not recommending getting all of them, but one or two would be a smart thing.
15:05
So we have elderberry, we have echinasia, we have olive leaf extract, then we have
15:12
andrographis, which is an herb that has significant effects over that Epstein barbirus.
15:18
And then we have astragalis, which is a Chinese herb to help put this Epstein barbirus back
15:24
I've done a lot of videos on how to reduce stress since that's the most important thing related
