On a cold January afternoon in 1953, a man wandering through Vancouver's Stanley Park stumbled upon a discovery that would become one of Canada's oldest and most haunting unsolved murder cases.
Hidden beneath a discarded fur coat were the skeletal remains of two young children whose identities had seemingly vanished without a trace, leaving investigators to wonder not only who killed them, but why no one ever came looking. It would take nearly seventy years, generations of detectives, and groundbreaking advances in forensic genealogy to finally uncover the identity of the forgotten family hidden behind the mystery of the Babes in the Woods.
But ultimatley, even though their names have been found, the killer remains only in theories.
