The Calm before Catastrophe (Ep. 304)

In today’s Sunday Bible Study, we pick up in Revelation 8 where the seventh seal is opened, heaven falls silent for about half an hour, and the trumpet judgments begin. I break down each of the first four trumpets—judgments on the earth, sea, rivers, and heavens—showing their parallels to the plagues of Egypt and how they progressively intensify as God both judges and still extends mercy, calling people to repent.

We look at the prayers of the tribulation martyrs, what the silence in heaven may signify, why “third part” appears repeatedly, how Wormwood bittering the waters connects to Israel’s role as the “salt of the earth,” and why these signs make clear we are not yet in the Tribulation. We close with the triple “Woe” warning and a reminder that God’s silence is never His absence—these trumpets are final alarms to turn back while there’s still time.
