The Data Center Scam: 10 Myths Con Inc. Is Suddenly Pushing | 8/25/26

About this episode

The memo has gone out. Now Con Inc. is suddenly defending data centers, hyperscale AI infrastructure, and Flock surveillance cameras — using the same handful of talking points over and over again. Today, I break down the sudden, coordinated push for techno-dystopianism and expose the myths perpetuated by those who are late to the fight. I explain how the issue cannot be properly understood with slogans about “China,” “innovation,” “capitalism,” or “the technology revolution.” You have to look at what is actually being built, who is receiving the subsidies and tax breaks, who is paying for the infrastructure, and what the projects are doing to land, electricity, water, and local communities. This isn't an argument against technology. It's an argument against government favoritism, corporate welfare, land-grabs, surveillance, and forcing ordinary Americans to subsidize somebody else's speculative business model.
