Since 1946, the text line is at a control today.
All kinds of college basketball players.
And we're still getting our tributes to Chuck Norris,
if you missed the news earlier today.
Chuck Norris at the age of 86, is that right?
Yeah.
He's six years young, has passed on.
He's our host of the week, you're on Jones and Key.
Chuck Norris is the reason why Waldo is hiding.
Makes sense.
I mean, let me tell you, in the 90s,
that's like a good, great reference on the nose reference.
I also enjoyed this one.
Chuck Norris, how old do you kid?
I'm 11.
Chuck, when I was your age, I was already 12.
Yeah, at least I don't do it.
Always better.
So keep those coming.
Chad and free town also has some favorite all-time college players.
You want that?
Yeah, let's do that.
Chad, who do you got?
I got a little local love.
I mean, he's not, I think he's a sleeper, I would say.
We got Jared Dudley.
When they made that run, I mean, honestly, it was Jared Dudley.
Good one.
I think especially because they beat Duke.
Would BC beat Duke?
You're like, I'm moving for BC.
Yeah, so who?
I forget exactly who was on which team?
Was it Craig Smith and Jared Dudley?
I would say the biger run they made was without Bell, right?
I think that happens a lot.
Yeah, I feel like Troy Bell was on those first good BC teams,
but I think you're right.
I think it was Craig Smith and Dudley, Sean Marshall,
Ryan Sidney, Tyrese Rice.
Maybe was he there yet?
I think John Oates.
John Beerbomb, there's John Beerbomb.
Oh yeah, there's another beerbomb too.
Yeah, Beerbomb is a sweet day.
Yeah, I think they went on the run post Troy Bell, I think.
Sounds right.
I'll double check.
Yeah, who else took out Duke?
Eric Mainer took out Duke one year.
Oh, that was awesome.
There were some good BCUs.
There was a Duke Lawson, right?
Yeah, who you got moved on?
Okay, we'll keep those coming on the phones and text line.
Meantime, what's in the four pack today, Billy?
What's more likely, Bruins make the playoffs
or the Celtics make the conference finals?
Oh, so interesting.
I think both are gonna happen.
I think it's more likely Celtics make the conference finals.
Yeah, it's close right now with the Bruins.
I was surprised that the number was 57.4%
when we were looking at some of the playoffs odds
or percentage just to make the playoffs,
but it's super close.
Like they could be out of the wild card
and be the third seed in the division
or they could just miss.
They're holding off right now the Islanders by only a point.
So basically, it seems like there's like five teams
fighting for four spots.
Give or take right because like the bottom of the metro,
the bottom of the Atlantic and then the two wild cards.
The other day I said it was three teams fighting
for two spots, you're right.
It's more open than that.
It's probably more like five for four.
That's probably true.
So I think both are gonna happen as well.
I think the Celtics make it all the way to the finals,
but I think the Bruins are gonna hold off
everybody else and get into the playoffs.
They're gonna have one of those spots.
I just wonder head to head against the Knicks.
I think the Celtics should win,
but last year I thought they should win
and they lost that season.
I think it's more likely the Knicks knock out
the Celtics than the Bruins miss the playoffs.
Yes.
I don't think that.
Yeah.
Okay, so interesting.
So I think the Bruins, I don't think either happen.
The Bruins, I think both both are gonna happen.
No, I agree.
But now what's more likely?
I think it's way more likely the Bruins miss the playoffs
and the Celtics don't make the conference final.
Now if this is NBA final, maybe I'd feel differently still.
Yeah, I think I'd still answer Bruins.
Okay.
I think that's how I'd still answer it.
All right.
And that's before I knew there were four back-to-backs
left on the schedule earlier today.
It's just more time for the corpse.
What else do we got, Billy?
Should basketball players be allowed to go pro after high school?
100%.
Absolutely.
So I heard the Morning Show talking about it a little bit today
because they were like, you know,
Wiggy used to be really in the college basketball.
Now he's not.
And part of it was just get all the one and done.
He's like, you don't really get attached
because even a team like the Fab Five that I loved,
they had no one and done players.
Like it rarely ever happened back then.
And so you had Weber went for two,
Rosenhower went for three and Jackson
and came in for all four.
Now I'm not saying they need to do that
or forced these guys to go longer.
Now what one and done was like,
well, like we mentioned Marbury earlier today.
Marbury, that's like a big deal when you want one and done.
And that was a little bit later than that.
But I think you would have more.
Can be was even at UMass for a couple of years.
It was two, three I think was a three.
Or maybe you went somewhere first then was there for two.
But either way, yeah, like he,
like the early entrance, they would call them.
There were almost all juniors
that I currently had a couple of sophomores.
But I think it would help college.
Andrew would also just cut down on all that.
Yeah, I know there's N.I. Allen guys transfer anyway.
So maybe the, maybe that's gone.
I think that's a much bigger issue right now.
But look at the high school players
for every like corollion young
or something that didn't make it.
It's like Kobe LeBron and Garnet.
Well, they couldn't handle it.
I think they were just fine.
Some of the best players were, yeah.
You, you should be allowed to choose if you want,
if you want to go to the NBA and the NBA wants you,
then great.
I mean, I think they were doing it to save the NBA team.
For a lot of those guys that worked out, correct.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
That's why they did.
It wasn't to help a player.
What started happening?
And look, I don't think there were a ton of like Kwame Browns.
Kwame Brown right out of high school, he was.
Yeah, he was, first of all picking.
He ended up having a career.
So right.
And he probably made millions of millions of dollars.
Yeah, Michael, you want to give him a ton of money.
So yeah, he also gave him a smack to the jaw.
Well, um, but yeah, I mean,
I think there's way more examples of those guys working out.
Yes, then not.
And the ones who didn't work out the corollion youngs
who fell to the second round or whatever.
The Robert Swift.
Yeah, they got really bad intel.
And so they made, they made a mistake
or they listened to the wrong people or, you know,
it's AAU basketball and, you know, uh,
the shoe company's running basketball.
Well, I, yes, I agree.
But I'm saying that people praying on these guys.
Oh, there is some of that.
Well, you think there's none of that in college?
You think when they go to college, all that goes away.
It might be worse there.
So no, I think they absolutely should be allowed to come out of high school.
I didn't hear this conversation earlier today, but I think they got to do
something about the amount of transfers.
I think we've talked about this.
Yeah.
I think a kid should be allowed to transfer and not sit out once.
Yeah.
I think once you're transferring multiple times and going into the portal,
there's, there's got to be some sort of way to
curb that and curtail that three schools and then like pleading for a sixth year.
Like, oh, that's not so, you know, you get one transfer and you don't have to sit out.
That's fine.
And that's fair.
And college coaches, when they leave, they don't have to sit out.
So that's fair.
Your coach leaves and you want to transfer fine.
I agree.
But now when you're jumping around two or three times in a college career,
and you never have to sit out, that, that's too much is what I would say.
Cause it does become hard to follow and buy in when you just, you get one good,
you're out of a player.
And the next thing you know, there's somewhere else that makes it difficult to follow.
What else, Billy?
What would be on your master's menu?
Oh, great question.
All right.
I don't know how many courses or items we need, but I would have like a ton of donuts.
I have just boxes of donuts.
I would have bubble kind of donuts.
Just take your ass.
I like the butter crunch and coconut, but I also have glaze that has some
crawlers in there, chocolate glazed, all those would be in there.
Then I would probably have Buffalo chicken subs with like piles of blue cheese.
A Buffalo chicken sub.
Yeah, Buffalo chicken sub.
Oh, it's nice.
And then I'd wash it all down with a milkshake.
I think a giant like coffee milkshake.
Get me a beer on there.
Can beer be on there?
Oh, this is the master's the master's.
I've never seen like a list of drinks, but yeah, that's some some broodogs.
Yeah, that's pretty much all I need.
There's a couple of broodogs.
There's pizza.
So I don't think pizza would be on mine.
I would be real carb heavy.
Okay.
You know, pasta, I'm going to want some like lasagna or something like that.
I'm going to want like a burrito taco option, probably burrito.
Not that this all fits together, but these are things I'd want to eat.
No, that's the they compliment each other.
And then like, you know, some fried chicken and mac and cheese, like something like that.
Like something real greasy and nice.
That's what I'd go for.
I don't really have much of an app there.
What would I go for for an app?
Oh, I would go for like some shrimps.
Like cocktail shrimp or like a fried shrimp cocktail shrimp.
Talk to you.
You can see how many shrimp I can fit in my mouth.
Greg learned.
Yeah.
So I like a cocktail shrimp too.
Greg learned yesterday that tempura is not raw.
tempura is actually a flash fried.
No, no, no.
Oh, sushi.
I got some sushi.
Yeah, sushi.
How's that out?
Warm it up with the sushi.
Yeah.
That's something I'd like warm up the meal with the sushi.
I prefer it cold.
Lobster crab.
Oh, yeah.
Out of all that.
Whole raw bar.
Raw bar.
Raw bar.
So we figured out raw bar.
Now we're cooking.
We ended up with a raw bar and sushi.
Buffalo chicken bar.
It's some wings.
It's pretty good.
And a milkshake bar.
It's a good menu.
Ah, that'd be great.
Way better than Rory's menu.
Yeah, a little bit.

Uh, what else, Bill?
Will there ever be another Chuck Norris?
I don't think so.
I mean, who's out there right now?
Who do you think would be...
If anybody could do it from beyond the grave, it's him.
It would be Chuck Norris.
Yeah.
Uh, I think Stathom is like the closest thing,
but there's not like this history and like all the memes and all the stuff.
Chuck Norris is like an urban legend.
Correct, thank you.
So I think in that sense, and his career was decades long,
like decades, decades long.
I look at some of this up.
He made his film debut in a minor role in 1968.
And then he was like training guys in martial arts.
Then they convinced him.
I was reading just some of this Wikipedia.
He was friends with Bruce Lee and he was friends with Steve McQueen.
And they were like, you should like do movies and like take it seriously.
And then so he started doing that.
And then he did that forever.
And then he had the long, he had a 200 episodes.
He's friends with who?
Steve McQueen and who?
Bruce Lee.
Yeah.
That's pretty cool.
Well, he's the villain in the way of the dragon.
And so like he's in that.
He's in a ton of movies in the 70s and the 80s.
Walker Texts Ranger runs for 200 episodes.
But it's also just like he's just in the lore.
Like it's just, it's just, I don't know if anybody's really like that.
Like there's a lot of argument now that there's really not even movie stars.
Right.
There's just not, but like the biggest action here on now probably is Stathom.
You're probably right about that.
And he's just in the mechanic and the mechanic too.
Yeah.
And he's just, you know, got selling total gyms.
No, he's not right.
He didn't come up with his, he didn't come up with his own form of martial arts.
He didn't do that.
And he's not as memeable, right?
No.
I mean, like, so I mean from that standpoint, like, yeah, I think that I would say no.
There will never be another check.
Yes.
Yes.
Yeah.
Yes.
That's probably true.
Do you want to know what the real rules of the Chuck Norris' personal code?
There's 10.
I was on, I wait.
I was unaware of this.
He's like, like a Chuck Norris 10 Commandments guy.
The Chuck Norris system, Jones.
Oh, like the dentistist.
One.
Yeah.
A little bit.
Okay.
One.
I will develop myself to the maximum of my potential in all ways.
I failed at that.
Yep.
I'm over one.
Yeah, over one.
Number two.
Yeah.
I will forget the mistakes of the past and press on to greater achievements.
Oh, that I do.
I can forget everything.
I just, with my betting, I do that every single day.
Three.
I continually work at developing love, happiness, and loyalty in my family.
Yeah.
I try.
I try.
Number four.
I will look for the good in all people and make them feel worthwhile.
I'm out of that.
That's not even close.
Yeah.
Nope.
I'm going to give myself two out of four, though.
Number five.
Yeah.
If I have nothing good to say about a person, I will say nothing.
Also, not our thing.
That's not our fault, though.
That's part of the job.
A job.
Yeah.
Seriously, Chuck, you don't get it.
This is good for other people, though.
Number six.
Yeah.
It's fantastic about the success of others as I am about my own.
Definitely not.
No way.
It's all about me.
Not you.
Not you, Billy.
Not you, Nick.
It's about me.
Number seven.
Yeah.
I will maintain an attitude of open-mindedness.
No.
No.
I'm not very open-minded.
I'm pretty close by now.
We're failing the Chuck Norris this time.
Yeah.
I just only have two.
And I'm not even sure I deserve the second one I gave myself.
Number eight.
I will maintain respect for those in authority and demonstrate this respect at all times.
About.
Number nine.
I like the crap out of Ken and Mike.
That's all I know.
That's true.
Yeah.
I will always remain loyal to my god, my country, family, and my friends.
Yeah, I'm pretty loyal.
Probably the closest one.
Yeah.
Yeah, I'm loyal.
I have like two halves in there.
It probably gives me the two total.
Yeah.
And the last code in the Chuck Norris system.
Number ten.
I will remain highly goal-oriented throughout my life because that positive attitude helps my family, my country, and myself.
Can you be goal-oriented but not reach any of them?
I think you can be, right?
Yeah.
He didn't say anything about actually achieving your goal.
No, no, just for your goal-oriented.
I think I'm goal-oriented.
Yeah.
I miss on almost every goal I've ever had, but I am goal-oriented.
I think so.
I don't achieve them.
No, no, no, no.
What is that again?
The Chuck Norris system?
The Chuck Norris system.
I like it.
Yeah, there's ten parts.
I think I'm giving my, counting partial credit.
No, I think I made it four out of ten.
I'm loyal and I am looking to maximize my potential.
Yup.
Yeah, I guess.
Oh, and I forgot my mistakes.
Yeah.
And what was the one about loving your family?
That one, I think?
Yeah, I remain loyal.
No, that's still the loyal one, I think.
No, there were two of those.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
Something about love in your life and family.
I think it's the same one.
Oh, oh, I will continually work at developing love happiness and loyalty my family.
There you go.
I think we get four.
I'm giving myself.
Wait a minute.
What?
I'm not to call it Chuck Norris.
I'm today of all days, but I feel like number three and number nine are very similar.
There's some overlap.
Okay, that's fine.
Yeah.
Family just wanted to get the ten.
Yeah, you get the ten.
That's what nine does not pop.
No, it doesn't.
You want a ten-point list.
Exactly.
You're missing something with a nine-point list.
Yeah, you understand marketing like Chuck Norris does.
He gets it.
He's like, whatever.
If I make the same point, who cares?
I'm Chuck Norris.
Plus, he can never be wrong.
It's like about...
You also wrote like ten books.
You want to read a book?
It is.
Oh, ten.
Yeah.
That's it.
That's it.
That's it.
That's it.
That's it.
That's it.
That's it.
That's it.
That's it.
That's it.
That's it.
That's it.
That's it.
Yeah.
That's it.
That's it.
That's it.
What was that?
It was that.
That's it.
I don't know, but, that's it.
Yeah.
That's it.
That's it.
That's a good one.
Where was that?
Where was that?
Oh wait.
Oh, wait.
I don't know if this is his.
The official Chuck Norris fact book 101 of Chuck's favorite facts and stories.
but I mean, yeah, that one's not bad.
Okay.
Well, there you go.
That is, well, I guess it's our Friday four pack
along with no doubt.
Let's talk about our system, which I think is insightful.
It's a good way, it's a thing to aspire to.
Agreed.
