In just a moment, we're going to Colorado
to talk with Gracie, but first, a quick reminder
about our brand new resource this month.
It's called Grace Without Guardrails.
That's cheap grace.
That's hyper-grace.
That's greasy grace.
Have you heard those accusations?
Well, first, there's nothing cheap about God's grace.
After all, it costs Jesus everything.
It costs Him His life.
Then, God's grace is free to you and me.
So, cheap grace, I don't think so.
And hyper-grace?
Well, I got to admit, God's grace does make me hyper a lot
when I think about the sacrifice of Christ.
Plus, oh my goodness, the prefix hyper
is all over the New Testament to describe God's grace.
It's grace upon grace upon grace.
You never have too much.
And that's the beauty of the true message
of the gospel of God's grace.
I'm excited about this new resource
we have to offer this month.
It's called Grace Without Guardrails.
Why?
Because limitless grace is not a license to sin.
It's actually a license to discover your new heart
and what you really desire at the core of your being.
So, we want to put this in your hands this month
to encourage you and show you what it means
to have this new, beautiful heart
that inspires you every single day.
In an atmosphere of grace underneath the canopy
of God's perfect love, we get to grow up in Him.
So, make sure to request your coffee
of grace without guardrails
when you give your gift this month to the grace message.
And thank you so much for your support.
Yes, thank you so much for your support.
We cannot do it without you.
It's called Grace Without Guardrails.
That's our new resource.
Make sure to request your coffee
when you give your gift this month to the grace message.
Thank you.
We so appreciate you making it possible
for us to reach even more people with the love and grace of God.
And it takes just two minutes to give your gift.
Again, two minutes at AndrewFarley.org.
Thank you so much.
Let's go to Colorado for our first call.
We'll talk with Gracie.
Hi, Gracie, what you got for us tonight.
Hi, Andrew Farley.
I was just wondering if the characters
from the Old Testament made it to heaven,
like Adam and Eve and David.
Yeah.
Okay, well, let's take David.
We'll take David as a good example.
I mean, the scripture doesn't say anything about Adam and Eve either way.
You don't know the end of the story.
Adam is used in the New Testament.
Adam is used as a type, a shadow, a picture of being in Adam,
being dead in your sins, being unsaved.
But we don't really hear the end of the story for Adam and Eve in the Bible.
But we do, I believe, have plenty of evidence about David.
So let's talk about him.
The short answer is, yes, David is in heaven.
He's with the Lord.
You see in Psalm 23, you know, that famous Psalm, Psalm 236.
It says, surely goodness and loving kindness will follow me all the days of my life.
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
So obviously, David expects to dwell in God's house forever.
And he knows that God's loving kindness follows him all the days of his life.
Now, how about Psalm 16?
He says, for you will not abandon my soul to shield.
Nor will you allow your holy one to undergo decay.
You will make known to me the path of life in your presence is the fullness of joy.
In your right hand, there are pleasures forever.
So Peter applies this, of course, to the resurrection of Jesus.
That's the New Testament application.
But David here is clearly testifying to what?
Well, that Jesus is the path of life.
Jesus is the fullness of joy.
And then over in 2 Samuel, chapter 12, it says, he said, while the child was still alive,
I fasted and wept, for I said, who knows?
The Lord may be gracious to me.
That child may live, but now he has died.
Why should I fast?
Can I bring him back again?
I will go to him, but he will not return to me.
So David had a baby that died.
And David expects to be reunited with his baby, reunited with his baby in heaven.
So he's talking about God's care, God's care of babies, God's care of us.
And he believes that he will be reunited.
I could go on.
I mean, there's Psalm 17.
I will be satisfied with your likeness when I awake.
We look at Acts 13 where David is called a man after God's own heart.
So there's a lot of evidence that David was justified by faith, that David believed
God.
That's how, gracey, as you know, that's what makes us believers.
That's how we can be sure that we're going to heaven.
We can be certain because we believe in Jesus and we trust in Jesus.
We believe he's the Son of God.
We believe he died for our sins.
We believe he rose from the dead.
And we don't go to heaven because we're good because, you know, David was not always good.
Was he?
I mean, there's plenty about the life of David that you could say, whoa, whoa, whoa,
David, come on now.
David could have acted better in a lot of circumstances.
But it wasn't David's behavior that got him to heaven.
It wasn't David's performance that made him righteous.
And neither is it with us.
We are saved by grace through faith when we put our confidence in Christ.
That's what saves us.
So 100% David is in heaven.
Gracie, I'll put you back on and see.
Does that help some, my friend?
Yes.
Thank you so much, Andrew.
Well, you are welcome.
Call us back anytime.
Great to hear from you.
Is there in Colorado?

incredible message of God's love and grace.
Once again, that's andrewfarley.org slash give.
All right.
Well, let's go now to New York and we'll talk with Chris.
Hi, Chris.
What's on your heart tonight, my friend?
What's up, Andrew?
How are you doing, brother?
God bless you and I love you, man.
Thanks, man.
Hey, so I can see the double-edged sword.
It's appeared to me.
It's like so blatantly obvious.
It's sovereignty cutting from both sides.
You can't escape the rule of God.
And so I found something, unfortunately, I don't want to, I can't read.
I've read less than 10 books my entire life from cover to cover.
I just can't do it.
The words all just, they get too big and everything means too much.
It's weird.
It's like I've discovered the idea of like, like, you know, when you read the Strong's
and you see one word and it has 50 different meanings.
Man, I figured that out long before I ever knew a concordance what that was.
It's like it just, this might mean a little bit more and so things get weird.
But in first Timothy, 410, it says that salvation is for all of man, all.
That's a big word.
All of mankind.
But then it throws in and says, especially those who believe.
So, and I can see through this double-edged sword how our God is saving even those who
don't believe through beating, suffering, to try and get you to, you know, either you're
either walking, you follow the staff or you, you get some ride, I guess, right?
And how do you feel about it or why do you determine that verse?
Yeah.
Well, I certainly do not believe that the whole world is saved.
I think this is, you know, Paul's talking to Timothy, the young pastor about how Jesus
died for everybody.
I mean, you know, number one is Jesus, is he, is his sacrifice for the whole world?
Yes.
Does that mean the whole world is saved?
No.
Did Jesus die for everybody?
Yes.
Does that mean the whole world is forgiven?
No.
Because the world is in Adam.
We start out in Adam.
And there's no forgiveness in Adam.
There's no life in Adam.
So yeah, we can say God is sovereign and all that.
But then if we ultimately, if we get to the place where, as some people do, they're
believing that God's a control freak, that God's coercing people, He's forcing people
into salvation.
He's saying, I don't care if you believe or not, I'm going to give you my spirit and
make you new against your will.
Well, you know, that didn't happen in the Garden of Eden, in the Garden of Eden.
They chose sin and God let them do it.
They chose rebellion and God let them do it.
So I don't buy the idea that the whole world is saved.
I think the point in 1 Timothy 4 is that Jesus died for everybody, but who is it that
benefits?
Well, obviously, believers.
So there's a lot of passages that would back up what I'm saying here, my friend.
I mean, Ephesians chapter 2, it says, you were dead in your sins.
Well, if the whole world was saved apart from their choice, then they wouldn't be dead
in their sins.
And furthermore, you know, Colossians 2, it says, when you were dead in your sins and
the un-circumcision of your flesh, he made you alive and forgave you.
Well, he, you know, it doesn't say you were never dead.
It says, when you were dead, you were made alive.
And Paul talks about people who were in Christ before Him.
He uses that expression.
And so, you know, obviously, if everybody was in Christ automatically, then Paul wouldn't
have said that so and so was in Christ before Him, you know.
And Romans 5, it says, spiritual death spread to all men because all sinned.
Romans 8, it says, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
It says, you are not in the flesh, but in the spirit if indeed the spirit of God dwells
in you.
So there are some people out there teaching the whole world is saved, they're dead wrong.
There are people that are teaching the whole world is forgiven, they're dead wrong.
And you know, this is one of those passages, Romans 8, 8 that shows that because he is saying
you are not in the flesh, you're in the spirit if the spirit of God dwells in you.
While some people are trying to sell the lie that the spirit of God is in all of us, no,
the spirit of God is not in all of us.
We receive the spirit by hearing with faith.
And you know, 2 Corinthians 4, it says the gospel is veiled.
It is veiled to those who are perishing.
Well, if the whole world were saved, then nobody would be perishing and it wouldn't be
veiled to anybody.
And it says the God of this world talking about Satan has blinded the minds of the unbelieving
so that they might not see the light of the gospel.
So they're perishing, they're not saved.
How about 2 Thessalonians 1?
He is dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and who do not obey the gospel.
These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction away from the presence of the Lord.
And from the glory of his power.
So it is a falsehood to teach that the whole world is saved or that Jesus forgave everybody,
whether they like it or not, or that Jesus saved everybody apart from their choice.
That is false.
It is not the gospel.
I mean, John 3.16 says it as good as any place, right?
Whoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life.
How about John 3.18?
Two verses later.
It says, whoever does not believe has been judged already because he's not believed.
And so those who have not believed or under judgment, those who have believed are freed
from judgment.
There's no condemnation for those in Christ, but not everybody's in Christ.
And so that's why this message is so important.
The message is not, hey, everybody's saved.
They just need to realize it.
That's not the message.
The message is you have to call upon the name of the Lord to be saved.
The message is John 5, whoever truly I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes
in him who sent me has eternal life and does not come into judgment.
Well, guess what?
The opposite is true.
If you hear his word and you don't believe it, then you do come into judgment.
And so, you know, Acts 26, it says, I'm sending you out there to the Gentiles.
God says, in order that they may turn from turn, notice that word, turn from darkness to
light, from Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness and an inheritance
among those who are sanctified by faith.
So look at what they need to receive.
They need to receive forgiveness and they need to receive an inheritance.
Those are received when they turn from darkness to light.
It's not automatic.
Forgiveness is received in Christ and there is no forgiveness in Adam.
Now maybe Ephesians 1 says at the best, we'll finish with this one.
God says, in him, you also, after listening to the message of the truth, the gospel of
your salvation, having also believed.
You were sealed in him with the Holy Spirit who was given as a pledge of our inheritance
with a view to the redemption of God's own possession.
So how do you get redemption?
How do you get inheritance?
How do you get sealed?
You get the Spirit?
Well, it says there's got to be a message and you got to hear it and you got to believe
it.
And so that's the truth about salvation.
The whole world is not saved.
The whole world is not forgiven.
That happens in Christ when you are transferred out of darkness into light.
So we cannot afford to take one verse and just build a whole doctrine out of it when there's
45 verses that say the opposite.
And so it's a misread of that first Timothy 4 passage.
It's a misread of it to say, oh yeah, because Jesus died for everybody, that now I'm going
to suddenly start announcing the whole world is saved.
Nonsense.
You can take five minutes and survey the world and figure out pretty quickly.
They are not saved.
They are dead in their sins.
And there is so much evidence of that unbelief.
So thanks for your call tonight.
Reach out any time, great to hear from you.
All right.
Well, let's go now to Canada and we'll talk with John.
Hi, John.
What you got for us tonight.
Hi.
How are you?
Hey, good.
What's on your heart tonight?
I want to debate about Mother Mary and a lot of different denominations of Christianity,
some color of Queen of Heaven, some color of an idol.
So what do you want to debate?
Well, I believe she's Queen of Heaven because my roots came from Catholic and Neal.
My family knew evil first time with Mussolini in Italy and occupation and the Nazis were
about to kill my grandfather and God's faith does, God's faith does and through that was
an introduction to my mother, that's what I call her, and she's a lineage of royalty,
King David.
So what do you think about Ruth?
Ruth, where King David's grandmother, they don't want to touch children.
What do you think about John?
What do you think about Jesus?
You think Jesus is the son of God?
Well, to be honest, let me finish with my mother, Jesus, our Heavenly Father said, John
behold your mama, that's serious, it's one of his last breaths to the dummy world that
rejects him constantly and calls evil good, and so I think to be honest, he's a man-god,
he's a God of love, God of forgiveness, God of charity, God of mercy, but he's also a
God of wrath, he's got it to absurd, that comes back and he keeps his promises and you
can see it by the signs that they're here.
Okay, all right.
Well I'm not exactly sure what you want, I mean you said you wanted to debate and told
our call screener that, we don't do a lot of debate, it doesn't really help people, but
I'll share my thoughts on, first of all, you talked about the God, man, Jesus, that's
the one that matters, we can't afford to get that wrong, Mary never saved anybody, Mary
didn't die for our sins, Mary didn't rise from the dead, Mary didn't give her life for
us.
So I want to get the Jesus thing right first, and so the message of the gospel is that
we're saved by Jesus, the message of the gospel is that we receive forgiveness of sins
through Christ Jesus, and we receive new life whenever we call upon the Lord to be saved.
When we open our hearts to Jesus and say, I believe you have the power to save me, Jesus,
I believe you have the authority to save me, and I'm going to let you, I want you to
save me, Jesus, well that's what matters most, that's the biggest decision you could
ever make, and so I would encourage you to make sure you know what you believe about
Jesus, he's the one that matters most.
So you're right, you mentioned the God man, that's first Timothy 2.5, it says there's
one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, so notice there's
one mediator, not two, there's one mediator, that's Jesus, not Mary, and then Jesus says
in John 14, I am the way, I am the truth, I am the life, no one comes to the Father except
through me, so how do you get access to the Father?
It's through Christ, not through Mary, but through Christ, so we can have respect for Mary,
we can appreciate her role in the story, but of course Mary is not divinity, and Mary
is not our savior, so there's not a lot to debate here, I mean you know there's very
little said about Mary in the New Testament, a wonderful woman, and she had a major role,
and that's awesome, but again we go back to who saves us, who's the big deal, and that
is, you see it in Hebrews 7, it says, therefore Jesus is able to save us forever, he's able
to save forever, those who draw near to God through Him, since Jesus always lives to make
intercession for us, so who's making intercession, Jesus not Mary, who's giving us access to
the Father, Jesus, not Mary, who is the mediator, is Jesus, not Mary, and then in Matthew 6
and other places, what does Jesus say?
He says to pray to the Father, not to Mary, but pray to the Father, and so we could go
on, but the bottom line is there's one name, one name under heaven by which we can be saved,
and that is the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, His finished work through the cross and
resurrect.
