Not everyone who works on a train is a driver, conductor or engineer. Sometimes, there are employees on the train doing other work. On more upscale trains there can be cooks and bartenders. During times of war, trains have had medical carriages where doctors and nurse’s care for the wounded in transit. Saving time while performing the job on the train is a major benefit to having specialized rail cars. Sometimes though, that rail car becomes a target.
