Folks, I'm getting hungry, and you know my favorite part of any meal snack or game day
app?
That's right.

blend of flavor and heat that elevates all foods from wings to buffalo chicken dip to
even ice cream.
That's right.
I said ice cream.
And with a roster of flavors, from OG to sweet chili, you can put that **** on everything.
So make every dish the greatest and eat the goat.

We're here in Tampa, Florida, Raymond James Stadium, another outdoor game.
Nice, Mike Milk.
It could be historic or it could be chaos.
It's the hockey show.
They were talking to hockey news is right here, Ethan and Rosie is in the studio.
I'm Roy Bellamy.
We are in Tampa for a stadium series.
This is the hockey show you can watch us on YouTube at the hockey show DLS.
We're on TikTok at the hockey show seven and on Instagram and threads at hockey show DLS.
As I said, we are in Tampa and we got a look at the forecast and it said snowflores.
Like that's crazy.
I don't think it's going to actually snow, but it's going to be interesting here.
It's cool.
I mean, look, I think I mentioned it the other day on the hockey gods aren't only smiling
at Tampa, but they're kind of laughing at us right now because it's not just cold.
It's floored to cold.
It's really cold.
It's going to get down potentially into the 30s over the next couple of nights.
So definitely fortunate because as we saw down in Miami, they got amazing weather for the
winter classic down there.
It couldn't have asked for better.
So yeah, it's just pretty awesome how it's all working out for the NHL and these outdoor
games here in Florida.
What you say is going to be the main difference that's going to happen between when a classic
and stadium series outside of the location, what do you think is going to happen?
I think it's just going to feel a lot different because it's a much bigger stadium.
It's more open.
There's going to be a lot more fans.
Probably going to be a lot noisier.
The fact that they've had to build the ice under this massive tent behind us just to make
sure that whatever weather inclement might happen didn't impact the ice spilled.
But it's just really cool.
The way that they're building it on a giant pirate map, I think it's really neat.
So there's just a lot that after they blew me away with my expectations for the winter
classic, my bars significantly raised for this one.
And I really think they're going to kill it.
Have you guys been to the ice already or you haven't been able to see it?
No, we literally just got here for the recording and the hockey show.
We haven't gone down to see any of the build.
I don't know if we'll be able to go down to see any of the build we might get thrown out
of here.
So that was a good question Rosie.
We're going to ask some questions.
You think we're going to get thrown out here?
I think if we do what we were talking about and try just sneaking down there with our
states, somebody might grab us by the back of our collar and Fred Flintstone us out
the window.
But we got to try, right?
Like it's so unique.
So cool.
We got to see if there's some way if we can get down there.
All right.
So we're going to figure it out.
But it looks beautiful out there.
The sun is out.
It is chilly.
It's, I don't know if we got the 50 degrees yet, but it's a bit chilly, but it's better
than New York.
It is a disaster up there, a whole bunch of snow and the such.
I found this interesting.
This happened apparently, the National Hockey League is not issuing supplemental discipline
anymore.
That task has been sent over to the Department of Play of Safety.
So George Parallels and the boys are going to take over handing out fines and suspensions
for everything that's in the rule book now.
The fans have not been happy with the DPS, the way they've been handling things as far
as the physical aspect of the rule book as far as boarding and illegal checks to the
head.
They have not been happy because some issues have been skirted or have been, I guess, rightfully
or not rightfully been supplemented and they've been disciplined for that.
So what do you think of this move and is it going to get any better?
What are we talking about here?
You'd like to think that if they're making a change that there's a plan behind it with
how it's going to be different and why?
I think as you talk about a lot of what people have been frustrated with as, you know, we're
in person in a press box right now.
So Roy's got to do some in-person producing.
So that's what you're seeing right now.
But no, I think one of the big issues that people have had with the DPS and just how
the fines and suspensions have been handed out is the inconsistencies where they can look
at one play and say, okay, I see that that was a suspension.
But now I see this play and it looks almost identical and the punishment is much different.
So I think that's where a lot of the frustration comes.
So I'm hoping that with this change, the idea is that they're going to maybe have, they've
got some kind of a new hierarchy or a way that they're going to judge these things just
to make it seem like a little bit more uniform because I think that's why a lot of people
get upset is that we really have no idea what the hell they're doing.
I'm sure this will turn down the noise, sorry guys, I'm sure this will only turn down
the noise.
Also, you forgot to say hi to the most important guest on the show today, which is
Percy's back.
Percy's back.
But I'm sure this will.
Why?
Ethan, why are you in the back?
Like, somebody was living on that.
This is actually a really good story.
Something was going on.
I said it.
I was sitting at the seat.
I normally sit at Roy.
But for some reason, at that seat only, there was piano music in the headphones and it was
driving me absolutely bonkers.
Like I could not figure out why there was piano music coming from the headphones and it
was driving me insane.
So I had to move otherwise.
I might have literally lost my head on this show and that's before we even talk about
the Florida Panthers.
Hold on.
Let's dive into this piano situation a little bit.
Yeah.
Okay.
Did Rose hear this piano music?
No.
No, no.
Was this even when I put the headphones while we was there?
I got in and I'm like, why do I hear piano music and Rose is like, I don't hear piano
music and I'm like, okay, now something's really wrong.
So then I went around to all of the headsets in the shipping container and none of the headsets
in the shipping container were hearing piano music.
For some reason, only your seat, Roy, was hearing piano music.
It's your folk role.
Don't know why.
So I don't know, like I don't know.
It was freaky and I'm asking Jason, I'm like, Jason, is why is there piano music and
nobody's giving me an answer?
And then I turned off everything that was on on the board to see if something was playing
out piano music, whether that be a soundboard or something.
I don't know what.
Here comes GQ to try and solve the problem I'm guessing.
But there was piano music coming from that chair and I don't understand why.
And I'm telling you, I literally was like, I've been super busy today running around
doing a bunch of stuff.
I was about to go crazy.
Like I was about to absolutely lose my head.
So anyway, did Jeremy bring his piano?
No.
You would think.
You would think that guy loves, nobody loves playing a piano more than Jeremy Tashay.
Let me tell you.
All right.
As you were saying, Ethan.
I'm sure this will turn down the noise on the fact that George Paros played for the Florida
Panthers back back in the day.
And so that he apparently has some kind of favoritism towards the Florida Panthers.
But GQ, listen, give it up for Danny GQ, guys.
I mean, come on.
Hey.
The best.
The best.
Anyway, yeah, I don't know too much about how this process works, Roy.
But I just look at throughout everything through a Florida Panthers lens, well, cut that
for the club.
Look at everything through a Florida Panthers lens.
And I'm sure this will turn down the noise now that George Paros seemingly has full control
over suspensions and those kind of things.
I say turn the volume up, bring all the noise at this point.
Who cares?
As long as they keep on turning out the way they have been, the way that the Panthers are
probably going to go for the next several years, Ethan, just keep bringing it up.
George Paros, Colin Campbell.
I don't care.
I love it, dude.
No, I love it.
I love how mad it makes everybody that the Panthers supposedly get all the calls, even
though last night, they had another bad call going against them.
We saw what happened on Tuesday night in the game against Utah, where you have that
stupid embellishment rule and then a hold on the empty net gets completely missed.
I mean, I'm just, you know, it's just the most ridiculous narrative out there.
But that's the narrative that you get when you win two Stanley cups back to back and people
are really mad about it because you're sprung the state of Florida.
So.
All right.
While we're talking about the Panthers and while Percy's on your console, let's go into
the Panthers then and talk about the week that was the Panthers and finally got Matthew
Kitchock and Brad Martian in the same lineup for the first time since they lifted the Stanley
Cup.
Now I got a lot of seven periods for about seven periods.
Now I got a lot of shit during against the spread during the big show last week because
apparently I failed to mention that it's the first time ever that Matthew Kitchock and
Brad Martian played in a regular season.
I'm like, they lifted the Stanley Cup together like give me a break.
All right.
Like give me a break here.
I'm just trying to give a pick.
All right.
Well, we were making fun of me for no apparent reason.
But it was the first time ever in a regular season that those two got to play together.
Let's go over this week.
All right.
So the Panthers beat Minnesota in Minnesota.
And that was a big one, a four to three and over time.
And then the Panthers trounced the Black Hawks five to one.
They came home lost to Utah and the and just a ridiculously annoying game that had
the two.
They don't embellish.
Okay.
And they had the two embellishment calls and then Florida lost to St. Louis five to four.
And again, that should have went over time, but didn't go over time because of that terrible
penalty on Nicola Mikaela.
So that's where we are right now.
The Panthers are back at home on Saturday.
We're going to miss that game.
They are playing the Winnipeg Jet.
So let's talk about the week that was David.
I'm pissed off because of the embellishment calls.
I hate that call in general.
I don't think I think it should just be taken out completely.
These are hockey players.
Look at what Trevor Zedris did, or excuse me, I'm what Trevor Zedris did.
Look what Mattlin's celebrity did.
We'll get to that later.
It's just in terms of how hockey players are good people, but can we just get rid of
the embellishment call?
And then also stop leaping.
I almost dropped enough on the stop leaping, pushing your own players or the other team's
players into your own goalie.
Can we stop doing that because A, goalies are getting hurt, B, these dumb ass penalties
are getting called just very frustrated over DPS.
I hope you're going to get your shit together.
That's all I got.
Yeah.
I was at that Utah game, boys.
And that was tough.
I mean, that was probably the most frustrated I've been after a Panther game this year.
I should have put the video in there.
It's just really funny video Kiersten took of me walking out of the stadium, like yelling
on the phone at my dad because of how annoying the game was.
But it feels like right now, like each loss that the Panther suffer is dumber and more
frustrating than the last one because the stakes keep going up.
I mean, last night's loss puts you eight points out of a playoff spot.
You have two huge games next week when you play Buffalo and Boston, not back to back,
but Tuesday and then Thursday or Monday and then Wednesday.
It's going to be a really tough stretch for the Panthers right now.
And they basically at this Olympic break, they're going to have to get back to within
about four points if they want a real chance.
But eight points with 30 games left and nobody in the Atlantic seems to want to lose.
I mean, everybody just keeps winning.
Boston is on fire.
I mean, look at these records recently.
The bolts are 16, 1 and 1 in their last 18.
The red wings are 8, 2 and 2 in their last 12.
The sabers are 23 and 1 in their last 24 and the Bruins are 12, 2 and 1 in their last
15.
Like the Panthers aren't necessarily playing at a bad pace right now.
The teams in front of them are just playing at such insane paces that they can't keep up
with them.
And they're going to have to not only get hot, but the teams in front of them are going
to have to come back down to Earth if they're going to want to make a playoff spot.
And it's going to be tough because none of these teams seem to want to go away.
According to Chagy Petit.
Oh, no.
Yes.
Florida Panthers have roughly 56% chance of making the playoffs.
So maybe my hot tags that I did like way earlier, they're going to be true and they're not going
to even make the playoffs.
I'd like 56% is a number that I believe, but how they're playing, I think, is going
to go down, down, down, and down.
I believe MoneyPuck would have been a better source for that, Rosie.
I'll check MoneyPuck right now, Roy.
It went to MoneyPuck, actually.
It actually says MoneyPuck.
There we go.
Good job.
Yeah.
Chagy Petit went to MoneyPuck.
So it's MoneyPuck House.
MoneyPuck actually right now has them at 41.9%.
The athletic, I think at the start of this week or last week, maybe had them up to 72.
That was the best their chances have been so far this year.
I'm not sure where the athletics odds stand, but 42.41.9% for the Panthers.
These last two games have basically buried them because it's been four point nights for
the Sabers and the Bruins and the Panthers each of these nights.
So they're going to have to get hot and also, like I said, these teams are going to have
to get cold, but they're not going to be able to get hot.
If every single night, it seems like a new guy is out of the lineup.
Like you get a little healthier, Kachuk comes back, Martian comes back, and then Lundel
goes out of the lineup.
Obviously, Seth Jones has now been out of the lineup and will be out of the lineup
until at least after the Olympics.
Brad Martian leaves the game last night in the third period after he missed eight games.
So it's just that you can only survive so much.
And I know that like people say, well, the lightning have had injury issues too, and they're
still playing great hockey, but it doesn't feel like it's been quite to the extent that
the Panthers have had.
I think they've averaged like five and a half players out of every game this season.
It's insane.
And also to boot, like the Panthers aren't getting good enough goal tending.
The lightning are, you know, have Andre Vatsilowski who's playing at a very high level this
year, and Tara Sobs playing well for a backup.
But, you know, Bob has really struggled this year, and that hasn't helped when it comes
to the injuries, but you can also put it into context of there's not a lot of structure
in front of him right now, because these lines are bouncing around all over the place.
I know I'm ranting, but, you know, last night you have a line of greeter and Sam Askevich
or and I forget who else was on the line with them.
The third line center.
Oh, my God.
And Greeter, and I can't even remember, oh, Swint was the guy.
It's like the lines are shuffling.
Yeah, my mind's in a blender too, guys.
I'm in a very bad place.
I don't think the Panthers are going to make the playoffs, and this is really the first
time this year.
This is the first.
No, this is the first time this year that I've really thought like it's bleak right
now.
Eight points with 30 games, and everybody else is playing hot like I'm telling you, they
got to get back to within four at the break.
All right, so we're looking at milestone markers, right?
We have Thanksgiving, we have Christmas and New Year's.
Now we got the Olympics, and we're going to trade that line.
So those are the four spots going up in 2D into the season that we have to look at
and where we are and we, I say we as if I'm a part of the team, but the Royal Wii
as a league where we are in the standings, that's what we got to look forward to.
Now the Olympics is coming up.
That means rest for like a third of the team because the other two thirds of this team
is going to Milan, but rest for this league.
We'll see what's going to happen after the Olympics and where things go going up into
the trade that line.
Yeah, I mean, look, to Ethan's point, it's become a little bit more difficult situation,
but the way that the season is gone, just with all so many teams kind of tightly packed
together in a playoff race, it's been ebbs and flows.
I don't think we can count on Boston and Buffalo and Detroit and all these teams that
are above for to continuing to play at this level.
The way Tampa's just been lights out and you know what, if they do, then that's the season
and it has.
And then when we get back and it's around the trade that line, then Bill Zito can plan
for the future in a different way, but I am not counting the Panthers team out.
I think that they are going to continue to start building momentum as they get healthy
or assuming that they don't keep getting decimated by injuries.
The time off is certainly going to help in that regard, but Ethan, I kind of get where
you're coming from.
It's getting late early.
I guess would be the phrase, but it's not late.
Early anymore, Dave, like it's late with 30 games left in the season, like three court,
like two thirds of the way through the season now, like that's the only thing.
Like, yes, of course, if we were eight points out and it was December or because, of course,
there's no big games in December, but there's big games in January when you're eight points
out of the playoff spot and it's getting late fast, I would say at this point.
It's not getting late early anymore.
It's getting late fast.
It's like Type Raker, but there's two games in hand, Roy, and we, you know, it's not six,
it's not six points with, you know, three games in hand.
It's eight points with one or two games in hand, like it's, it's bleak, it's bleak.
But look, if anybody can do it, it's the Florida Panthers, right?
If anybody can do it, like I believe in this team's ability to do it, especially if
Seth Jones comes back after the Olympics, depending on one Demetri Kula Kov, Jonah Gadjevitch,
there's a lot of guys get back.
But also, there's no guarantee that guys won't continue to be in and out of the lineup,
like they have been for the last two months or so.
All right, it's time for Puckler brought you by Drop Kings, Drop Kings.
The crown is yours, David.
Please.
Please.
Well, look, we're a little limited this week because there's only one game tonight, but
I was able to dissect some value.
We're going to do some alternate lines and, you know, I always have a good feeling, but
I have a good feeling about this one.
It's Chicago against Columbus.
The Black Hawks are hosting the Blue Jackets.
We're going to go three shot props, all to go over two and a half.
We're going to take Conor Bedard, who's hit this number in nine of his past fan and Columbus
also gives up the second most shots in the lead.
On Columbus, we're going to take Adam Fantilly and Kirill Marshanko to go over two and a half
shots.
Fantilly's hit in seven of eight.
Marshanko is hit in 10 of 12 and Chicago allows the seventh most shots in the lead goal-wise.
We're going to take Columbus to score over two and a half goals.
They've scored four plus and five of their past seven and Chicago has allowed four plus
and three straight.
And then we're also going to take the Black Hawks on the money line.
This is, for some reason, I don't have the odds in front of me.
I send them to Ethan.
I think it's like plus 622, something like that, but this is a good one.
I feel like taking the alternate lines, we can actually dissect a little bit of value
tonight.
All right.
So there you go.
Maybe we'll win money this time.
All right.
It is time for Rosa in Unminuto, Rosie.
Okay.
First, I want to tell you guys why I'm wearing this.
You don't care.
But my eyes are very puffy.
So don't play me about things.
Come on.
So.
I'm not going to be fraying at them.
OK.
Please.
Hola, hijos.
Connect.
Sing, sing.
Javier corros.
Tu resumen de semana le paga.
Si, un poquito de cao, o, o, o, o, o, o.
All right, that was Rosa in Unuto.
And now it's time for Rosa in a minute.
Go ahead, Rosa.
Let me give it to you, voice.
Since you don't understand Spanish.
Hey kids, this is one minute of Hockey with Rose.
And this time we're heading to Philadelphia.
What the flyers decided to suffer altogether.
The week started terribly.
4-0 loss to the Islanders.
And Ila Sarking handed them a shout out
like it was Christmas.
And it was not Christmas.
But agree with Scorch-wise.
And the flyers didn't even tickle them.
The fans begged.
At least one, please pull it.
It didn't happen.
They came the most unfair game of all.
Travis Ganeskin dropped a hatchery against Columbus.
And those two lost 5-3.
I mean, score three goals.
And its scene is enough.
Pure pain.
And just in case, that wasn't enough.
Boston said, let me help you.
6-3 loss to the bruise.
Another long night for Philly.
So the flyers fish in a week.
3 losses.
A lot of effort.
0-1, Sanctinetic.
Wondering what else has to do up next, the Kings.
Because clearly this week wasn't enough punishment.
The flyers took off.
But this week, they crashed.
This was one minute of Hockey with Rose.
They're weekly.
We got a park passion.
And a little bit of chaos.
Wow.
I like that.
Next week, you know, it was dancing like a dance laboratory
there with the sets on his eyes.
You know what kind of reason I was great eating.
Next week's team.
Get a good rummaging here, boys.
Get a rummaging.
Get a light rummaging, yeah.
Next week's team.
The Carolina Hurricanes.
OK.
The Carolina Hurricanes.
I also expected a metropolitan division there.
OK, so.
All right.
Good luck with that, Rosie.
Sanctinetic for wins and fails.
All right, David, what you got?
All right, my win of the week happened
earlier when the oilers were hosting Anaheim.
Something happens to Oilers, Goldtender, Tristan Jari
that we see kind of fairly often with other NHL players,
maybe not so much with the goalies.
While sliding from his right to his left,
his heel hit the post and knocked off the blade of a state.
And then he had to go and try to make a save
with absolutely no traction for anybody
that's seen this happen in players.
You can see it's like impossible to stay
without a state blade for a goalie to do it.
Golly's realized so much on their edges.
It's pretty ridiculous to see that not only did he make a save,
he's diving across the trees, but he can't move.
So this is the big win on Tristan Jari,
obviously having a little bit of fun
and Edmunds in these days, but that's so hard.
I felt for him.
So that's a major win that he was able to keep
that puck out of the net.
All right, Matt Cleen's celebrating is good.
Yes, because he's very good.
He's very good.
How good is he?
How good is he, Roy?
Insanely good.
You know how good he is?
He is good enough to win a face off
without actually using the blade of his stick.
All right, so they're in a face off against Teddy Bluger
and the Vancouver Conox.
He was in a face off circle
and his sticks got tied up together.
So he decided the flip is stick
and used the knob, the butt end of his stick
to draw the face off back in his own defense of zone.
That, my friends, is a win
from a guy who's really making a lot of noise
for the heart trophy discussion.
I'm looking forward to putting him on my ballot.
There you go.
I'm looking forward to voting.
I'm really afraid of what the NHL media is going to do
in Maclin, Celebrini, in terms of just anointing him
as the next Sydney crossby
and what that will do for my and Roy's perception
of Maclin, so.
It will make me happy.
They're rosy not it.
My brother actually goes to the thunderbug.
He actually went scuba diving
and you can see the picture there.
I don't know how he did not drown
or talk there, but he went for the thing.
So good job, Lightning.
I love it.
Ethan, what you win?
Patti Kane, boys.
We need to celebrate this legend.
One of my favorite players growing up,
one of the guys that got me into the sport of hockey,
those black hockey teams were so much fun
when I was first getting into the sport around 2010.
He became the all-time leader in points
by a US-born skater last night with his 1375th point,
Patti Kane, an absolute legend of the game.
Arguably the greatest US hockey player ever.
Wish we were getting another look at him
in the Olympics coming up,
but he is an absolute legend
and great for him to accomplish that feat.
All right, let's go to Phil's now, David, what's your fill?
For my Phil, we're going to the ECHL, the main mariners,
but we're not talking about a player on their team.
No, we're actually going to be talking about
the mariners directing of director of marketing,
Catherine Horrigan, who was swept away
by the pregame gear, I guess.
The pregame show prop that they were using
was being pulled off the ice.
She was standing behind the net
and it just whisked her right off her feet
and to her credit, she stuck the landing.
She actually waved to the goal tender,
the mariners goal tender,
as she was being kind of shimmyed off the ice there,
but she turned a fail, I guess, into a win,
so go on her.
That's a win, yeah.
That is a win, bro.
Not a fail.
And that seems like the opposite of what
we were trying to do in getting fails,
but yes, that is a win.
All right, I have two fails.
Now, I wish we had the video for one of them,
but let's start with the first fail
and that's the Toronto Maple Leafs,
especially specifically Craig Barubi.
We showed this photo earlier this week
on the big show and he looks like shit.
Apparently there was a accident in the weight room
that caused a serious, serious gash.
Now, if you're looking at me in a video,
not my finger is pointing right here,
above my left eyebrow.
It curves, as Dan said, a parabola.
It curves.
It's the arch in St. Louis
and went to his other eyebrow.
So it went from his eyebrow up to the top of his forehead,
now to his other eyebrow, and he has a black eye.
It is terrible.
He looks terrible and he was able to coach
and the Maple Leafs are losing.
Fail number 10th, any Davis star?
The anti, yes, yes, he has one eyebrow now.
And the second fail for me, the New York Rangers.
The New York Rangers apparently took three penalties
on the same shift.
Now, I'm gonna go away to this computer
so I can read what the penalties were.
See, Sam Kirk, Tripcom McClain,
Sam Kirk, Crosscheck, Matthew Bozzol.
This is against the Alonzo's, by the way.
And Matt Rampy boarded Mark Gattcomb.
So that was all in the same shift,
all three separate penalties on the same shift.
That is very, very hard to do,
especially without the other team getting a penalty.
So it's a five on two power play?
No, I don't think that's how it works.
Five on three, and then one goes out
and that starts to next power play.
I believe that's how that rule works.
I'm not an expert on that.
I was told there would be no Matt today.
Yeah, there's none I hate more than Matt.
He didn't want you lost.
Oh, you failed.
My failed week is lost.
My failed week is also the Rangers for me.
That was it as well.
Yeah, that's like the easiest fail
over the week of all time to take three penalties,
two on the same guy.
And then of course at the very, very end,
who else would it be?
But Matt Rampy throwing an absolute elbow
into the back of a guy's head, boarding him,
and giving just a completely unnecessary play.
The only thing the guy does is go out there
and be tall and hit people.
It's just, and the Rangers in general
have been a fail this year.
I mean, we can talk about this real quick.
We have some time left, but they have been a disaster.
They're the only team that's,
and we, we will get to Rosie's fail.
They're the only team that's completely out of it in the East.
They're like 10 points behind every other team
in the Eastern Conference,
just a nightmare season up at Madison Square Garden.
Matt Rampy is big for nothing.
Correct.
He's big for nothing.
He goes out there.
He's throwing elbows in,
and that's probably the reason why he's getting in trouble
so much because his elbow is,
when he stands right here,
is his head level to it's like,
I mean, you just saw in a video,
my elbow was up to David's base,
and that's basically,
if I was like five inches tall,
that probably would be Matt Rampy,
but yeah, he's big for nothing.
And he can't fight either.
That's the other problem.
Not good at anything.
Not good at hitting people,
not good at fighting people,
not good at skating,
not good at scoring,
not good at defense,
not good at passing, not good at offense.
He's only good at being tall,
and he's not even good at that
because he can barely even stand up on skates.
I feel bad.
I feel bad.
He seems like a nice guy.
Rose has a fail of the week, by the way.
I thought she didn't have a fail of the week.
I know, before we get to Rose's fail of the week,
yeah, let's just go to Rose's show of the week
because we're on time to talk.
Actually, it's also the Rangers,
but it has another,
you're gonna look at it in another way.
I'm sad because the crisis and they're spiraling,
and get the Master Ratsal
and Joey Curie are friends of the Rangers.
So if they don't go to the playoffs,
there's maybe no way we can talk to them.
So that's my fail of the week.
You can keep talking about the Rangers anyway.
You have one minute.
The bell of the week is we are not able
to talk to actors on standard things.
Is that why I'm here?
Yeah, because of the Rangers fans.
So we don't need the Rangers to succeed.
We need a Rangers to succeed as well.
We did see Gettin Metasaro at the winner classic.
We saw him.
Well, you saw him.
I saw him.
Press box, but thank you.
You have one minute to talk more Rangers.
Do we even want to talk about the Rangers for another minute?
Can we give a preemptive win to where we are right now
because of how amazing the league did at the winner class Miami?
No, because Tampa doesn't deserve any credit for anything.
They do.
Oh, let's know.
This is a state of hockey,
and we're all in this together now.
Oh, okay.
So that's what we're going to lean into
is that we're all in this together
because Tampa fans really
to seem to be all in this together
with the Florida Panthers.
We could use it a little bit
so they're in areas, I think.
Thank you, everybody.
Roy is going to tell us where you can find us.
Yeah, you don't have to do that, Rosie.
Before all of us, before all you guys
watching on Drive Kings Network,
you can check out the YouTube channel for our next interview.
We are talking to Deandra Lou of the hockey news.
She covers the Tampa Bay Lightning.
She is the beat rider for them.
She's going to talk about stadium series
and how the Tampa Bay Lightning are doing currently
and how they kind of changed hockey in the state of Florida.
So Deandra Lou is coming up right after this.
People always talk about New Year's resolutions.
You know, eat better, work out more,
et cetera, et cetera.
We might still be early in 2026,
but I'm sure most of you have already broken your resolutions.
Me, I'm still going.
My resolutions are simple, be comfortable,
especially at the ring.
If you know me, you know that hockey isn't just something
I watch is something I live.
Late nights, cold arenas, long playoff runs,
you're on your feet alive.

What's up?
The Andrew Lou joins us here.
She writes for the hockey news
and she's the B-Rider for the Tampa Bay Lightning.
This is the Lightning second outdoor game.
They beat the Predators through to 2 in a 2022 stadium series
in Nashville, that was in front of a lot of people.
That's like 69,000 fans at Nissan Stadium.
Completely surprised you didn't say nice.
Caught me a little off guard there.
That's a fail on my part.
I apologize to everybody watching.
I feel like now I should just walk away and shame.
No, we kind of need you here.
Tampa Bay Lightning are playing the Boston Ruins.
For the past 25 years,
they've been a premier franchise in the NHL,
especially since they started winning.
Talk about the Lightning and how they changed the aspect
of hockey in Florida throughout the league.
Yeah, well, I think it goes back to probably
when John Cooper got hired.
I think we can track the stats on that.
Kind of turn things around here in Tampa and kicked off,
you know, kind of what we see that hockey is here
in the state of Florida.
You guys know you're down in South Florida
with the success of the Panthers.
But the Lightning have been, I think they're an organization
that has always kind of done it, right?
They didn't try to skip steps
and kind of slowly built towards it.
Got two Stanley Cups, went to another Stanley Cup final,
wasn't the result they wanted
and now they've been kind of building back to it.
So I think it is just,
it's an organization that does things the right way,
pretty much is the best way that I can describe it.
Tampa's been on a hell of a run over the last month, month
and a half despite missing a lot of players.
Like they've missed forwards,
breaking points, spin out,
they've missed half their defense minutes, feels like,
how are they so good this year?
How have they been able to maintain
and be such a dominant force in the East
when they've been almost as injured as the Panthers?
Some might argue.
It's crazy because it's like the key players, right?
It's not just depth guys.
It's Victor Headman, Ryan McDonough,
they were without Eric Ternack for a while on the blue line.
So the blue line is really taking a hit.
Then you talk about Braden Point, Vassy, all those guys.
I think the biggest thing with them
is they've been able to call up guys from their AHL team
and rely on them and they run a similar system.
Everything is kind of, it's copy and paste
and there's really good communication.
So they've been able to just call these guys up
and they've been waiting for their chance to play up here.
So they're all competing for a spot
and it's worked out really well.
They got a guy, Dominic James, who was a draft pick
for the Black Hawks is six-round guy
and he's having a great rookie year
and then just do who we talked about before this.
He's an undrafted guy.
So the lighting have always been really good at finding,
they don't always go for the shiny object, right?
They're going for the guys.
They go over Europe and scout over there
and then it's worked out really well for them.
Jack Cooper is yet to win a Jack Adams trophy
for coach of the year.
Why?
That's a great question.
Great question.
I've been getting asked that a lot.
I think everyone is so used to the lighting
having success, like what you talked about.
They've just, they've kind of set the standard.
They've been good for so long
and people underestimate what John Cooper does.
It's hard to stay good, right, and competitive.
And this year, the injuries have been,
it's a revolving door of injuries.
So one guy comes back, two guys are out.
What he's had to do and it also goes back
to the culture where everyone talks about John Cooper
and the culture that he's built.
But doing that is constant work.
It's good coaching.
And I don't know why he has not been considered.
And even this year, I don't know if you guys saw it.
They're showing the votes and where he's at.
And he's not even, there's no first place votes
for John Cooper.
So we'll see.
I think he could have won it, you know,
maybe his first year coaching on us.
He could have won it a couple of times.
We'll see this could be his year.
But think about like having a competitive lighting team
coaching the Olympics and maybe winning the Jack Adams.
That's a pretty, pretty big season.
We have a little bit of understanding
of having all that kind of success
and not necessarily winning an award for Bill Zito
who's been the GM of the forever for a while now.
One of the things that like most about John Cooper
has been around him a lot the last few years, obviously,
with the Panthers.
He was at Four Nations last year.
He's just such a down-to-earth even keel guy,
no matter what's going on around the lighting,
no matter how high the team is or how low they might be.
He always just seems to keep the same demeanor
and he's such a player's coach.
He doesn't take out any of his guys in the media.
It just must be really nice as we at Paul Maurice
on Florida, but it just must be fun to have a coach like that
that you know you can work with
and that you know he's gonna treat you like just one of them.
Yeah, I think that's part of it, too,
when you talk about him being in the running for the Jack Adams.
That is part of it, right?
It's the culture, it's how he does it when you ask the guys.
And I'm sure it's very similar with Paul Maurice,
although I've seen him on the bench,
like he can get a little feisty.
So can Cooper though, you know?
But with the guys, they talk about that.
It doesn't matter if they lose.
He stays the exact same like even keel guy
that he would be if they won.
So there's not a lot of highs and lows.
It's kind of just, you know, he builds confidence in them.
And I think that that is so much,
especially when you talk about these young guys
that are coming in, these guys have had to step up
for Victor Hadman and Ryan McDonough.
Those guys are, they have a lot of confidence.
They know what to expect.
The culture's already set.
And like all of that goes back to John Cooper, all of it.
They haven't really lost a step since they lost them,
but Steven Stamco's in that drama that happened
before he went to Nashville.
Talk about the time that happened
and what exactly was the disconnect there.
Yeah, it's crazy because it's been a minute
since Stamco says it played for the lightning, you know?
I think that it's hard to say now.
I think in a couple years, everyone will be able to look back
and have answers on that.
When you talk about, and you, I don't know if you'll see
this with the Panthers, but you go to three Stanley Cup finals
and then there was a flat cap, right?
And so there was a lot that had to happen.
They were losing players and they were trying to work around that.
And it was a rough year.
His last year here was a pretty rough year.
They were trying to build back defensively.
And so I think that that reflected in some of his game
and his play and just the team overall that year.
So I don't, it's hard for me to say honestly,
the disconnect between what happened with the organization
and Stamco's, but I know that they definitely miss him.
They're looking for someone to fill that spot
in the power place still to this day.
And it's kind of, it's improving obviously this season.
They're playing pretty well, but he's kind of one of those guys
to me who's always the guy that you can't really put a number on,
right?
You bring so much, certain guys just bring so much to the room
and so much to the team and the organization.
To me, you couldn't put a number on it.
That's just how I always, I always viewed it.
Still to this day, one of my favorite commercials of all time
is him and had been standing there watching the little kids
playing hockey and made me start, did the time
to start saving for college, but you kind of talked about
Stamco's role with the lightning and how he was a power play killer
and us coming from a Panther's perspective, obviously,
we know that all too well.
But if they're looking for a guy to fill that role,
I know somebody who's out there who's available,
who has been linked to the lightning, maybe, you know,
one of many teams is our Tommy Panarin.
Is that something that you can maybe see happening down here
to fill that role?
Is there a spot for him?
Could they make room for him?
Is that something that could potentially happen?
It's hard for me.
I've seen the same thing.
It's hard for me to imagine a player like Panarin coming in.
One, from a cap perspective, I don't know how that happens.
Like, he carries a pretty heavy cap hit
that I have not seen the lightning really take on.
I guess Jake Gensel was the most recent guy, you know,
and, you know, because you cover a Florida team,
like, we don't see those numbers, really.
But anyways, they have a lot of scores already.
Scoring is not really, I don't think what they'll be looking for.
I think it's more, they want to go to a player
and also face off certain area
that they really need some help on,
but that is a heavy cap hit.
I personally don't see that happening,
but usually what it is, in my experience,
with Jillian Breastball is where you hear the most noise.
Like, when he says to look left, you want to look right.
So that's kind of my role of thumb.
We'll see what happens.
I do think they're going to make a move or two.
They have a lot of guys.
Like we talked about on the blue line,
they've got an excess amount of guys.
So I think that's probably where the moves are going to be.
What would you say is the difference between Steve Iseman
and Jillian Breastball and how they handled the team
when they were GMs respectively?
Ooh, that's an interesting question.
That's a really good question.
Well, I think Jillian learned from Steve Iseman, you know.
I think the thing about Jillian Breastball
is everyone talks about how he's almost like a stoic guy,
but actually around the players, you get to know him
and he is actually a really cool guy.
And I can't really speak too much on Steve Iseman,
but obviously like he learned from Steve Iseman.
I think Jillian keeps everything really close to the chest.
You're never going to know.
No one's going to ever be able to figure out.
I don't think anyone's really been able to figure out
any of his moves leading up to the trade deadline so far.
So, yeah, I don't know.
That's a good question.
I think with Jillian, he is really aggressive
and he's not scared.
You talk about the Stamcoast move.
I mean, that's like, that could shake an organization,
you know, in the wrong direction.
They kind of took it the other way and went with that
and it's been really successful.
But if you would have said, Jillian Breeswell
is going to say goodbye to Steven Stamcoast.
I don't think anyone would have believed you.
So, I think the biggest thing is he's just not scared
to be aggressive.
It's just funny, like as I'm here
and you talk about Breeswell and then talking about John Cooper
and just the way that they've kind of built
such a dominant franchise here.
It's been similar to what they've done in South Florida
with Bill Zito and Paul Maurice.
Bill Zito learning from Yarmul Kekalainen in Columbus,
whereas Breeswell learned from Steve Iseman here
and just to see that kind of how it's all come together
here in Florida as a Florida native.
It's like me grew up watching hockey here.
I'm just love hearing people talk about how awesome it is
to see that, you know, this is kind of basically
become the state of hockey.
Sorry, sorry guys, I know it sucks,
but six straight Stanley Cup finals have come through here.
It's four days kind of the state of hockey, isn't it, De?
Yeah, and I feel like the biggest thing
that I don't see people talking about enough
is just the culture of the two teams, right?
It's a totally different culture.
Yes, you can talk about the weathering to talk about taxes,
but really when you talk about like the coaches
and how they interact with their players,
you talk about John Cooper being a player's coach, right?
There's no, it's not toxic, it's not unhealthy.
The players feel comfortable.
I know Brandon Hagel, I talked to him the other day
and he said he would feel comfortable going up
to Julian Breeswell and asking him a question.
He's not intimidating, he could go up to John Cooper
anyone in the organization,
everyone's kind of on the same page.
I feel like the Panthers are the exact same way.
So there's something to be said.
I think, you know, some teams could take notes
from what they're doing here in Florida, you know?
And I feel like, I mean, this is another big year
for the Florida hockey teams.
Like the lightning or crushing it.
So we could see two Florida teams in the playoffs again.
Let's talk about the vibe around the city
for this event stadium series right now.
How is it looking, especially considering
that the gas pavilla parade is on Saturday.
So these two events are kind of commingling.
Yeah, well, there's definitely a buzz in the city
and I think when I was here this week at the stadium,
a lot of people from the league were talking about that.
They're just going around and they can tell
that people are really excited about the game.
The fact that it is on the same weekend of gas pavilla
is gonna be, it's gonna be a long shift for everybody.
Saturday and Sunday, I think everyone's just gonna kind of
wake up, have a couple hours of sleep, wake up
and make their way to the stadium.
The weather is cooperating, which I think is amazing,
because you really never know what you're gonna get in Florida.
I personally was a little nervous, you know?
I'm sure you guys were for your game too,
is like, is the ice gonna melt?
So we're gonna have water to skate on, you know?
But the weather's cooperating and the city is really excited
and this has been a long time coming for a tampon.
Honestly, I talk about the lighting being as good
as they have been for so long over a decade.
So it's a long time coming for us.
Yeah, they've been trying to get an outdoor game here
in Tampa for a long time.
So to see it kind of coming to fruition
and the way that they've done it, I'd rip behind it,
if they have this massive tent structure
that they built just so they get the ice build coming up,
it's been pretty amazing.
But you mentioned the gas pavilla happening this weekend,
for those of you who are outside of Florida,
who are from outside of Florida,
it's a huge deal for people from this area.
It's very pirate friendly.
Roy and I are gonna be out tomorrow
hoping to kind of take some of that in.
But what do you think we can expect
as we kind of meander our way around the gasparella events
tomorrow that you're kind of sending us up for?
What are we gonna see?
Are people going to be like literally
like Jack Sparrowing talking to us?
Correct, yes, you're gonna wake up in the morning.
I've warned some people,
it's a family friends that are coming into town.
Like you're gonna wake up in the morning,
you're gonna go get coffee,
you're gonna think you're just getting coffee
to prepare for your day.
You're gonna see grown adults dressed as Jack Sparrow
talking to you and pirate talk.
I mean, that's like the level,
actually last week I was driving past Hatrix,
which is a great hockey bar, by the way, in Tampa.
It's a great hockey bar.
I was driving past there and there were two pirates
just casually walking down the sidewalk.
And that was a week ago.
So at the lightning game last night,
they had the ice crew as they were dressed as pirates.
They had all the players, you know,
like the graphics of them as pirates.
So it's a really good time.
Use your imagination with it.
You're gonna see a lot of things,
but I think you guys are gonna have so much fun.
Yeah, we all gonna have fun.
This is gonna be a fun weekend stadium series here in Tampa.
The Andrew Lou from the hockey news,

Bye.
I want you to be a hockey player.
Mike, you know I have one rule to live by, right?
Don't place parlays on multiple long shots.
Don't say a game is one when it hasn't hit triple zero.
Always drink your yager, myster ice cold.
That's the rule.
Everything else is merely a suggestion.
Everything else, everything else.
Wearing clean underwear every day.
Well, that's just a personal decision.
Brushing your teeth.
Obviously smart, but not a rule.
Never pee pee on an electric fence.
OK, maybe there are two rules.
But the one that is 100% that I insist on completely,
yager, myster must be drunk ice cold.
Or don't drink it at all.
Damn, that's cold.
Exactly.
You're finally starting to get it.
Drink responsibly.
Yager, myster, Lakora, 35% alcohol by volume.
Imported by mass, yager, myster, U.S. White Plains, New York.
Close your eyes, exhale, fill your body, relax,
and let go of whatever you're carrying today.
