Wow, we're gonna have to check in on Mike throughout the show. But we got some hot takes, my friend. I'm wearing my favorite sunglasses. Shout out to my buddy Toby from Emory. He gave me these when we were on tour and said these are gifted to you now. They are your sunglasses. They're not my favorite sunglasses. You're my favorite co-host because you're here every single day. That's not true. That's not why I feel. Can I say something before we get any further? First of all, for those that are listening, you didn't see the transitions at the very beginning of the show. For those that are watching, you did. Hopefully you enjoyed them. But we will go into a bunch of our hot takes today. First and foremost, there will a few logistics field. Jates, couple of things I want to get to. Our buddy Eric Moody, in chat. So feel free to have a little bit of fun with that one. All right. All right, feel jatz, I don't think we have a whole lot of news to get to. I think it's just hot take stay, my friend. We do not have any news that I am aware of, Daniel. The only bit of news that I suppose we can pass along is that yesterday, DeAndre Swift left practice for the Bears and Twitter got itself into a tizzy, which is what happens. Now that time, the information era, Adam Sheffield reporting it just to cramp. I spoke to somebody there and they noted that it was about a hundred degrees on the field. Sure. And incredibly humid. So cramps do happen. And that happens during this time of the year. Chicago is sort of warmer than expected for late, late August, but every once in a while things do happen. And DeAndre Swift seems to be just fine. Roma doons, they also left practice. No word on any severity there. But generally speaking, one a notable player in Rome is very notable leaves practice. And there's not quick reporting from one of the top insiders about a significant injury.

4:05Tens to suggest it might not be anything significant. But I digress. I think the truth is chat. I want your hottest takes and throughout the show, we can unveil some of those as well. Love that. Before we get into our hot takes, Daniel, how are you defining a hot take? Hot take. I think it's a little bit across the board. I decided to have a little bit of fun. It got hotter as it went, but I think something that I don't expect to happen this season, but there is a possibility that it could happen and each one elevates a little bit more from one take to the next. Is that similar to how I landed? It's really how I landed as well. Like if you hear one of our hot takes and it runs counter to our general thoughts on a player, like that's okay. Hot takes are not things that you expect to happen. If we were doing cold takes, I would say Josh Allen will be quarterback one this season. A hot take would be Kyler Murray finishes quarterback one this season. That's not one of my hot takes, but I also don't think it's going to happen, which is why it would qualify as a hot take. Why do they kind of get hotter as the show goes on? We will.

5:06Or if we can't have we heard at all from Mike yet, does he have anything to weigh in? Whoa. Oh, guys just left me here. Oh, guys should left me at the beach. Can't complain about that. I think I'll just relax here a little bit. Oh, but how about my first hot take? This one's not too sizzling. It's kind of like this beautiful beach here. It's nice and calm and relaxing, but I think Terrence Ferguson is a top 12 fantasy tight end this year. Kind of off to a slow start in his career, but he was the second round pick last year, goes into year number two now. And could be the number three target behind Devonte Adams and Pukin-Dakua. And what could be one of the highest scoring offenses in the NFL? You choose to do the goal line last year. You could use this a vertical threat. So Terrence Ferguson, top 12 here in year number two. I guess we did leave Mike at the beach field. I didn't mean to do that. But how does Mike fail upwards here? I don't know. I'm going to go up to work and instead gets to go spend the morning at the beach.

6:06And you and I obviously live in Connecticut. As does Mike. He is not in Connecticut right now, but he's not far away. And it is toasty today. Oh, yeah. It's been kind of cool this week here. It has warmed up in a hurry. So Mike, congratulations to you. One of the other realities about hot takes Daniel is that it's hard to support them with a statistical case a lot of time years prior. But Mike having Terrence Ferguson's a top 12 tight end this year is a talent play. He made sure the fact that the Rams, he might be their third receiver. He could even be their second pass catcher if Pukka, Nakuha is unavailable at some point. Although we're now six days away from their home. There's there's season opener in Australia and no word there on Puka. But I did notice something and I went back to Mike's full season projections, which if you go on ESPN.com or go find it through Mike's Twitter, Mike Clay NFL, you can see a full PDF. It's incredibly comprehensive. Mike projects not just standings, but also points for and points allowed for every single team. I'm sort of leading the witness here, but can you guess which team he projects to score

7:07the most points in the 2026 regular? Probably the Los Angeles Rams nailed it. 494 points score that's over 29 per game, which is a lot of touchdowns over the course of a 17 game season. So there's equity for Terrence Ferguson in the touchdown department, potentially. This is a little bit of an investment play as well, right? Second round pick, just a couple of years ago, the Rams told us how much they believe in the player. Yeah, I'm with you on that one field. I mean, I love the pick because I am in on Terrence Ferguson. You've also heard me talk about him. Mike talked me into him as well. One thing I will say though, often at the tight end position, I don't try to chase touchdowns. I try to chase volume. Where are you going with this first one? Okay. So by the way, we think Mike's that was fine. Okay, actually it sucked. I mean, let's be honest, we're going to be honest. No, no, no, no, no, he's not here. We get to dunk on all this. No, that's people already think I don't like Mike. I want people to know that I do like Mike. That was like, you know, my, my, my, it's a mile, it's a mile take.

8:10Do you guys remember a few years ago we did hot takes and we used actual hot sauce? Yes. I think that was two years ago. It was two years ago. How could it happen to me afterwards? I do remember what happened. I spent the entire day in my bathroom at home. Yep. I had to happen right when we were getting ready to leave work. I was like, that doesn't feel good. I had bubble guts for almost a full day. I mean, I was down so incredibly bad. It was pathetic. I was taking every type of medicine imaginable to control my stomach and nothing worked until I went to bed then. I went to bed crawled up in the fetal position. It was awful. So thankfully we're not doing actual hot sauce this year. A lot of tight end theme in our first set of takes. I noticed that. Yeah. All just have sunny day at the beach take. The record for most catches by a tight end in a single season was set last year by Tramik bride. It was. My first hot take is that it lasts for one season as Brock Bowers who sail past 135 catches

9:11this upcoming season with cousins and Fernando Mendoza. I mean, is that any better or worse that kind of Murray and Jacoby percent? No, it is not. Potentially. It's not that much different. I this to me is a reminder we tend to do this in fantasy like one bad year for a player and next thing, you know, not even a bad year, but a hurt year. We're like, oh, you forget just how dominant of a player this is. Brock Bowers is a rookie had one of the greatest, probably the greatest rookie tight end season that we have ever seen. I was doing NFL live yesterday with Laura Rutledge and she was talking about how when she spoke to the Raiders staff prior to the preseason game that they we broadcast year on ESPN Raiders versus Texans. They were discussing the Raiders and then who's kind of vying for that wide receiver one role and the Raiders relayed something to the effect of like, yeah, it's an open competition. Lot of guys are trying to sort of earn their keep as wide receiver one. Maybe at this moment, we don't necessarily have a clear cut to wide receiver one and then Clint Kubiak kind of corrected himself and was like, actually, we might it's it's Brock

10:15Bowers. Yeah. Because Brock Bowers is unquestionably the best pass catcher in the entire offense. Yes. And it is a razor off in wide receiver room based off what they have proven up to this point in their career. Right. Jalen Nailer, trade Tucker, Jack Bash, Malik Benson, who's drafted this past April six round pick out of Oregon. Like it is really, really unproven besides Brock Bowers. We expect it to be an improved offense overall. That would get you to over eight catches a game for Brock Bowers, which I think is possible. If you see some were between 10 to 12 targets. Does it ever bum you out that when you're talking about you two best friends, Laura Rutledge, who knows Clint Kubiak and all the people and me who like when you tell stories, you're like Daniel was talking to the lieutenant of the gas station the other day and he actually told me that this was, is that like a tough thing for you? Okay, listen, you are wearing sunglasses from a member of Emory. That's fair. Okay. All right. All right. All right. All right. You know, like this is this is big time. I love it. So I love that call field because I think you're an, that's a great point.

11:17I mean, the receiving room around him clearly shows that he has a clear path to what would be an unbelievable number of targets. It's do they just want to let him feast. It stays healthy, which I'm saying that not because I have been told zero concern on the knee injury from last year. There was a moment in training camp where Bowers was spotted wearing this tape. I forget what it's called, but it's like black tape. That sort of keeps, can help muscles, a lot of volleyball players, these geology tape, something like that. Yeah. A lot of volleyball players wear it because their joints are all over the place, going up there, spiking, et cetera. But Brock Bauer's a spotted wearing some of people are like, oh, it's something happened with that knee. Like are they still concerned? I've been told no concern whatsoever. Zip zero, not a body is fully healthy. So when I say if he stays healthy, I say that in the same way that I would say if Jamir Gibbs, if B. John Robinson, if Jamar Chetwell, I guess Chase is hurt right now. If, you know, JSN, if I'm on raw, if CD Lam stays healthy, if any of these guys can play 17 games, they have massive, massive upside with you on that. I just think Brock Bauer's reasserts himself as the tight end in the NFL finishes his tight

12:22end one with over 135 catches. Mike's projection of 99 catches for 99 yards is really pleasing to see aesthetically. Yes. But it's way too low, Mike. Yeah. I think you're going to get way more, more than 99 catches for 99 yards. I think Mike is being conservative with that one. Yep. All right. Same. I've got George Kittle for mine, Field J. So you talked about him having Brock Bauer's having 135 catches. I have George Kittle finishing as tight end one in fantasy points per game. That is my mild take. It's mild because it honestly just feels like a George Kittle season if that happens. Last seven seasons in the league, tight end three, tight end two, tight end three, tight in four, tight in two, tight in six, tight end one and tight end three. So he's only done it one time in the last seven years, but he is consistently bent up at the top. The reason why I'm talking about him now is because you get him so late in draft, Field J. It's if you could get the number one tight end in the game in round eight of your fantasy draft. You are winning fantasy football.

13:23Yep. I mean, you get such huge positional value when that happens. Last year once he came back from injury weeks eight through 18, the average 19 point two points per game and you look at the receiving core. John Jennings gone. Yep. Ricky Pierce all out for the season. Mike Evans is old. That's it. Debo Samuel also is 30 years old. Very succinct there. Yes. Mike Evans old. Yeah. Dejon Striblin, a rookie that we really like, but still learning the playbook. If there's one guy that I feel like is just going to keep doing the thing that has been doing in this offense, we still like Brock per day. George Kittle easily can be that guy. I say points per game because of the fact that he might not start the season. I know he flew to Australia. We'll see what that means. But even if you miss him for the first couple of games, I still think that there is a chance. That's why this is my mildest of all the takes that George Kittle, the tight end you're getting in the eighth round finishes as tight end one. The path to this field is honestly just another George Kittle season. George Kittle is the man. Yeah. The only way in which this take might fall apart early is that he may play in weak one.

14:24That might be the may ramp him up. Right. It's like, okay, that he's playing weeks one through four on a 50 to 60% of the snaps plays snaps count. And then he by week five is sort of full Voltron and back to his normal self, but in those first four weeks, maybe he averages eight and a half fantasy points. That would let me. That's a big argument. Yeah. Yeah. Being said, he is a freak. As you saw, one of those tweets there from our tag board noted that he is a freak of nature. But you know that it's like an 18 hour flight from Los Angeles and maybe a little bit longer from San Francisco to Australia. I didn't know. 18 hours. I don't know my brain. I'm not the smartest guy. No one's going to question that. But I thought it was like 12 hours. So I, as you know, and your father was in Hawaii, I was stationed in Hawaii. So like I used to fly from LA to Hawaii all the time. Yeah. I thought that I guess Australia was much closer to Hawaii than it is. Me too. 18 hours. Yeah. That flight to Hawaii is not nearly that long. So that's unreal. Right. What do you do? Do you just have to like get up and walk around in a plane? I can't sit for that long.

15:24You definitely can't sit for that long. I think that these. I'm also not six foot five 275 pounds. I'm guessing these teams either either their own jets are already equipped with like lots of like rollout seats or you get the life flat seats. You rent, you know, you charter a jet for this incredibly taxing trip. Gosh. I don't know. You ever see like those double-decker ones, like those double-decker planes where like the blue one was last. Did you really? Yeah. A couple of years ago to be able to officiate our buddy Damien's wedding. Oh wow. The flight that we took, okay, it was a double-decker. We were sitting on the top of that. That is sweet. It's really fun. I've never even seen one much less other than on the Instagram. So maybe it's one of those. I don't know. I'm sure the Niners and Rams are flying a little bit differently than if you and I made the track that's there. Bristol, Connecticut to Australia. I'd love to go to Australia one day. Hopefully we have some viewers and listeners out there down under. Speaking of viewers and listeners, we got a couple things from our chat before we move on. Some hot takes we want to get to James Northrop says hot take Quentin Johnston finishes

16:25better than Lad McConkey. Like it. I mean, didn't it happen last year? I don't like it and I think it did happen last year. We're going to talk about the chargers in a little bit, my friend. I'm sorry. I should have said I like it isn't like I appreciate it. I like it. I appreciate the spiciness of the hot take. Absolutely. Do we have another one? Let's throw another one up here. The Carter says Jacobi Brissette finishes top 12 again this season. Yeah, amazing because we've talked about it zero. So far this pre-season. That's true. He did it basically last year. Yep. And I don't think that we are in a spot where with the are we. I just don't think that that garbage time can be replicated in the same way that it was last season. They are going to be down a lot. They will. They have what is perhaps the hardest schedule in the NFL and they are projected to win like three and a half games. So garbage time sort of forecasted there. I just I'm not sure if they'll be as effective at it. Lake Bordles will be so proud of it. He will. Yes. Yeah, we'll have missed on that one. Jacobi Brissette does it two years in a row. We'll have just straight missed on that one. All right. Let's do one more here before we move on. K three super future hot take Alec Pierce will be a top 10 wide receiver this year.

17:29Field Gates talked to me about the path that this happens. Is that K three super future or is that Mike Clay? Is that my my my my my my my my my my my my my clay? Um, it's it's you know, it's it's the idea that all of a sudden Michael Pittman is gone and all of a sudden Alec Pierce is the focal point in this passing game. Rather than have it be the narrative that I have been preaching, which is a lot of that is going to go to Tyler Warren. We see Alec Pierce take a much greater target share. That's how that happens with this one. I'm with you on that. That is a spicy take though. Speaking of spicy takes. I think our buddy Mike has something to say. She's trying to come in here. Guys, but now you're leaving me in the desert. It's just not really funny anymore. Uh, all right. I need to get out of here. So I'm going to ramp up. I take a little bit with this one. Uh, Marvin Harrison Jr. Will be a top 15 fantasy wide receiver this season. Look, I know it has been off to a bit of a slow start for him. Rookieer was okay last year. Obviously fell off injuries and whatnot, but look, super busy near the goal line. He's finished top five, but wide receiver in end zone targets, both seasons.

18:31Yeah, he's actually third in that category since he entered the NFL. And by the way, he was pretty good with Jacobi percent under center last year. Over 14 fantasy points per game. So, uh, yeah, I think Marvin Harrison Jr. Top 15 fantasy receiver in year three of his career. And I need to need to water. What? I love. I love my clay. No idea. That one. He went for the, he went for the squirt bottle of the classic. Oh, there isn't any in here anymore. I'll have to go find water. Oh, Michael, uh, thoughts on this one, Daniel. He's the sweetest. Um, listen, if Jacobi Berset's going to be a top 12 quarterback, there's a good shot that my Marvin Harrison Jr. could get here. Here's the thing for me. This team just gave somebody a lot of money. Michael Wilson. Michael Wilson, three years, 75 million dollars. Is that correct? 75 meal. So they're obviously counting on that guy to be a part of this as well for him to be able to be top 15. I just, we need to see a completely different Marvin Harrison Jr.

19:33The alpha that he was supposed to be drafted as I don't feel like I have heard the, the rumblings in training camp that he has looked like that guy that will not be stopped. He cannot be contained. Yeah. I haven't really heard that yet. I'm not sure if he's going to be shot given the pedigree. Sure. Yeah. But I'm a little bit more out on it than in on it, I think. Okay. So here's what about you? Yeah. Pedigree, yes. Talent. Yes. Opportunity because there's going to be a lot of throwing on the fly here. Yeah. I don't think it's that crazy of a take. I can buy into it. I will just say this more generally about Marvin Harrison Jr. This is the last time. This is it. This is it. This is your make or break season for fantasy. And I'm not talking about like, hey, if he doesn't perform well this year, he'll be ineligible and fantasy football next year. I'm talking that much like Kyle Pits, you guys have heard my Kyle Pits, Marvin Harrison Jr. and allergy in the past that if it doesn't work out this year with Marvin Harrison Jr. People are going to be out out. They'll just never draw. He'll be the scar tissue player. He'll be the guy that I don't care if Marvin Harrison Jr. gets straight into the Rams

20:38and plays with Matthew Stafford and then Pukin, Akua gets straight to the Sean McVase Marvin Harrison Jr. is the greatest player he has ever seen. No matter the circumstances, people are going to have serious angst over drafting Marvin Harrison Jr. It doesn't happen after this year. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me, fool me three times. I'm never drafting you again. Well said. I was wondering where you were going to go with that fool me three times. Yeah, I wasn't really sure if that one was going to land. What about you, my friend? You know, it took me an embarrassingly long time to remember this obviously, Ethan. The name of your second child. I screw up my kids name all the time. No, well, you got three of them. Yes, a problem. It's usually the youngest two that I screw up. Do you ever call your children your dog's name? Um, I don't know. Or your dog your children's name? No. Okay. We also have so many nicknames for our dog now that I just end up calling him something different every time. I get yelled at. Sometimes Rosie will go to yell at me and she'll be like, River. I mean, Daniel and she'll, and it's like, thanks for mixing me up with one of the dogs. River is a sweet name.

21:39It is. Let's go. Um, it took me way too long to remember that Rico Doudel played with Mike McCarthy and Dallas. Yeah. Played for him, I guess will be in the more accurate statement. Rico Doudel. This is the stuck in the desert category. Yeah. Number two in the hot takes will finish with over a thousand rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns. That's a good season. Feel pretty good season, right? Yeah. He's not like that. He's being drafted around RB 30 him and Jalen Warren kind of flip flopping. It reminds me we've seen this every year. There's like a backfield. We just don't really know who to lean on. And you just break it high and go on and move forward there. I think Tony Pollard and Taj A Spears have been like that and like that in recent seasons. Anyways, um, Jalen Warren's better pass catcher. Rico is a capable cat pass catcher though. And familiarity rules the rules here. We were talking about this yesterday when discussing Chris Rodriguez, right? Yup. Rodriguez who is a very familiar running back to Liam Cohen. And that's like the only spot that if he signed, I could be like, all right, maybe

22:41there is like a real role or the role here. Yeah. Rico Dowdell, there could be a real role here with Mike McCarthy. Now, Mike Clay has highlighted how little Mike McCarthy has gotten out of the running backs for fantasy in his career. If they lean enough on Rico Dowdell behind what is at least a heavily invested offensive line, I think an offensive line that can actually be really good as well. Yeah. Let's see Rico Dowdell going over a thousand rushing arts and 10 rushing touchdowns. I can see that field. It is a little spicy, little more buffalo sauce if we were to put a little bit of a key up low versus miles, versus the mild, but I do believe that I agree with you, especially because I'm more out than in on the passing game. And so if we do see these guys rely on just toot in the rock, Rico Dowdell is the guy I think is going to be touching the ball more often than not on those early downs. We saw some of the explosiveness that he could have last year. We get a couple of monster games last season. So I like this one as a spicy take, especially with where you're getting him in drafts right now. I mean, he's basically, he's very attainable right now in fantasy drafts.

23:44Yeah, yeah. He is very attain both of them are right now. You've got to kind of pick a lane between those two or you can draft both of them in hope that when you draft both of them, by the way, the hope is that one renders the other moot. Yeah. That like you are actually not getting any value out of either Rico or Jalen Warren. And if that's the case, at least you have one of them as a maybe not lineup lock, but a strong lineup consideration each year. Yeah. How about you? What do you got? I'm going to bring my rookie guy that I've been talking about nonstop to the table Jadari and Price. He's going to be a top 10 rookie running back this year field. I think that's not a hot take. You don't think that's a hot take top 10 rookie running back. Sorry. He will be a top 10 running back as a rookie. There we go. There we go. Last year in Seattle, no back field had more carries than Seattle. Seattle. We're just talking about rushing via the running back position. All right. No quarterbacks, wider service tie dance. Seahawks were first in rush attempts. They were tied with the Falcons, right? Correct. They were seventh in rushing yards. They were fourth in rushing touchdowns.

24:44Axe, Arbenei, still working his way back. I know that there was a big difference between return to play and return to performance. And the Seahawks running backs have the second easiest strength of schedule this season, just because we didn't see all of the passing game work and everything materialize at Notre Dame because he was behind Jeremiah Love. Doesn't mean that that skill set isn't there. It just means we haven't seen it. So it is a little bit of a faith thing. Seahawks had enough faith to use a first round pick on this kid to be able to come there. Number one running back in their back field right now. The path to this being able to happen is that he stays healthy one for a full year, obviously. He retains the starting job even when Zach Sharbinay comes back. He's involved in the passing game. It's going to be really tough for him to be top 10, even with the amount of rushing and touchdown equity that I just talked about from last year. He's going to have to be involved in the passing game as a part of that. And Seattle will have to stay the run heavy kind of team that they were last year to keep up with that kind of volume. But I realized that's a lot of things to happen. He's in a spot where if anything happens was Zach Sharbinay, no offense to George Hollani or anyone else in that back field. I just think Jardarian price when you look at the cream rises, right?

25:47Yeah. He's the cream in this situation by the time you get to the end of the season. If those things happen, if that narrative plays out, he could find himself as a top 10 running back as a rookie. I have no idea where the saying the cream rises comes from. I think I know it's accurate. And I suppose it means something, but I've never understood the origins of that. I'm sure somebody can correct me there or at least inform me there, I should say love the hot take. This is a hot take. Right. He's being drafted well lower than top 10 amongst running backs. Yeah. This is not, I'm actually not countering your hot take here. I just am bringing up something that I don't know. I've mentioned much or anybody here on the show has mentioned much. When the Seahawks lost Clint Kubiak this off season, they ended up interviewing like, I think like three or four guys on their own staff to take over for Clint Kubiak. Some of those guys went to Las Vegas with him. Then they hired the Niners tight ends coach Brian Flury is their offensive coordinator. Yeah. I did it for my mother. That's right. He literally less as me and him points point that out.

26:48He looks just like you. Yeah. I have no idea what to expect. Yep. My guess is Mike McDonald probably wanted to hire somebody that is going to just continue to do what they've been doing, right? You can't replicate Clint Kubiak as a play car, but you can certainly run the same system and have the same mentality as Kubiak. I have no idea how Brian Flury wants to play. He worked for Kyle Shanahan. Mike McDonald certainly could have played it safe and stuck in house. So I'm assuming he hired somebody that has a similar vision. I'm just curious how that looks. Yeah. It's a little bit of a usually these offensive play callers or offensive coordinators that get jobs like Declan Doyle going to Baltimore. That was just a matter of time because he was this really well thought of young hot shot on the rise offensive coordinator who had not previously called place. Davis Webb in Denver. He gets the chance to take on play calling duties now for the Broncos, taking them away from Sean Payton. Your lion's hired Drew Petsek who had previously called place for Arizona.

27:49The Brian Flury hire was kind of out of nowhere. Mike McDaniel goes to the chargers, right? So Flury, I just have no real baseline to work off of in terms of what he stands for, how he wants to call plays, etc. Let's hope he really loves Jordanian price this season. That would be great. That would be great. Him and JSN both. That's all we're trying to do. Lay. Let's take a couple of questions before we get into our next version of hot takes here from our YouTube chat. This one, PS gamer, my homes and Kelsey revive as fantasy winders are under Eric B. The enemy once again, that's, that is hot. It is hot. I got to tell you, I actually love this topic because hot takes make you think, yeah, right? Like when I sit here and go like, yeah, look, I expect Derek Henry to once again be top two in the NFL and rushing yards or I'd have to be more conservative. Top five and rushing yards this year. It's like, yeah, okay, that probably will happen. Right. And like Josh Allen be a top three quarterback this year. We expect AJ Brown to have a big impact if you're getting traded to the Patriots. And we think that, you know, De Monte Smith takes a leap forward with the Eagles. That's all kind of filed under the, yeah, no kidding. Yes, you expect to have happened.

28:49Yes. It's the stuff that we don't expect to happen that actually makes for the best conversations throughout the course of the year. Patrick Mahomes is being drafted outside the top 12 of quarterbacks. Travis Kelsey is Bay being drafted outside the top 10 of tight ends. If they do revive their championship ways, somebody in fantasy football is getting a ton of value because of that. Let's do another question here. Really quickly. This one is from HD productive and federal Macmillan. Oh. The NFL in receptions feel G8s. That is spicy. Now it's going to require much improved efficiency. Last year if you just go look at the sheer number of targets versus the sheer number of catches, he ranked too low in that category for me to feel great about this. Agreed. Agreed. That's why it's a hot take though. Yeah. T Mac going to play more from the slot this year, which is a huge advantage for any wide receiver. That kind of unlocked things for Drake London last year. Drake made that gigantic leap forward. I dig it. Tadarol Macmillan going to do that Michael Pittman Drake London role as that big guy playing over the middle, right? I love that kind of thing. Hopefully him and Bryce can connect there. All right.

29:50One more question from our mailbag. Nope. That's what's going to have to be rejected. Hot take. Loveland finishes outside the top six of tight ends this year. I like hot takes except for when they disagree with my assessment of the player. Yeah. Agreed with that one. No. Pull me once by the way. Shame on me. Pull me twice. Shame on you. I think I was just a conversation that I believe just you and I had yesterday. I think it was just you and I because Mike wasn't here. Yeah. Or we were saying that out of Tyler Warren and Colston Loveland. Yes. I believe there's a better chance that Colston Loveland breaks into the top two of tight ends. Yes. But there's also a better chance that Tyler Warren finishes a top five player at his position or maybe I said top four. Right. Just because there are fewer players he's competing for that I'm interested in the Indian apolis offense. Yep. Compared to the Chicago offense. I think Roma Dune's and Luther Burton could both be could each be break out candidates. Correct. I think there's a little bit and I am not necessarily saying this as much as it's going

30:52to sound like. But Tyler Warren is more of a volume play to me. Colston Loveland is I am chasing the touchdowns a little bit more just because he is going to have more mouths than that offense to have to share the football with. Yes. So the volume just won't be quite as much because of it. All right. I think we got Mike Clay with another take here. Where's he at now? Did we leave him on the volcano? Guys, not again. Well, can't hold behind us. I can't keep doing this. All right. I'm going to have to ramp up my fantasy takes here. Hopefully this whatever this thing I found is saves me. But all right. Look, I think the Chiefs love two top 20 fantasy wide receivers this season. Rishi Rice obviously is one of them. The guy was still really good when he was on the field. The season was a top 10 score. Five of his eight weeks he continues to be heavily targeting when he's out there. So yeah, he's kind of obvious. But save your worthy as well. Remember, he got hurt on his third snap last season. I think that that guy, if he's healthy this year, can make a lead forward. He scored 12 touchdowns at 20 games as a rookie.

31:52So that's that. I mean, look, the Chiefs offense is so good. They're top seven in pass attempts each of the last six years. So I'm in on that Chiefs passing game. But at this point, I think I could cook some rice on this heat. I need to get out of here, guy, save me. What? What? Yeah. Why is Mike? If he's out of volcano, first off, is that like one of those windshield things that he's wrapped himself in? He actually did look like one of those things that you put on your windshield when it's really hot to keep the sun from reflecting. Right. So when you get into your car, your seat is not a thousand degrees. But then why is he wrapped around him and shivering? He looks like he's in the ant Arctic rather than being a volcano. He's a dork. Oh, I love it. I love him. How about this take? How about this take? Listen, I think there was a thing where Clay I thought the takes were getting too spicy and they had to make turn it, that might turn it down a little bit. They were like, this is too hot. I think Rashe rice clearly going to be a top 20 wide receiver if he's still healthy. So even worthy, like, I don't know if it will happen, but I could absolutely get to

32:57the path of they want this kid to work out. And maybe we're talking about a post-type season here. I'm in a dynasty league, half PPR, where following his rookie season, I made a trade for Xavier worthy for I believe the 10th overall pick in a 12 team league. And that person who I made the trade with, our friend Trevor Sikima, who is other from he's definitely a Bucks fan. I think he's from Tampa Bay as well. And then I'm trapped in a mecca, Obuca. And I hated that trade after about, I don't know, half the season last year. Yeah. I thought about that trade a lot. Why did I do it? Yeah. Not knowing who's going to take obviously, not knowing who will be available necessarily. Yeah. But I'd finished third in the league of year prior, worthy had this promising season. I know it was Garbosh time, but he was like ridiculous and the Super Bowl. So this one hurts because I don't know what to make of the player. Yeah. I was a fan of Xavier worthy to be clear coming out of Texas.

33:58I had legitimate concerns about the player as well. They were basically like, if you blow on him, is he going to go down because he's so slender. And it felt like last year, all of the concerns I had were realized, despite the fact that I was very optimistic about Xavier worthy going into last season after his rookie year. My brains in a pretzel when I think about Xavier worthy is kind of the bottom line. Yeah. I don't want to make this clear. Comp. Yes. I think he's a good player, but I get nervous with the same thing that you're talking about because of the body size. And I worry that after what happened last year with Travis Kelsik, we were how many snaps into the season? Yeah. Three. And it was. And it just felt like there was never like a full recovery to back to the player that he was supposed to be to start the season. That I'm worried is this one of those things where that we're just waiting for that to happen again because of the slight body. And this is part of why I don't want to project injuries. I don't know anything about that. I'm in part out on tank Dell because I just am worried about a smaller player that has

34:58had that kind of injury concern this year or in this league. And Xavier worthy could go either way for me because if he gets hurt again, then in my mind, the rest of my basically his career, I'm like, you know, kid had tons of talent. Just couldn't stay healthy in order to be able to have it materialized on the field. So we make a lot of fun of my injury from a few years ago on the beach at Bahamara. And I'm okay with that. Like it was incredibly stupid. I'm probably the biggest moron in the history of fantasy. It was really great for the show actually. A good content. Yes. And I'm not trying to compare myself to athletes. Please do. Anyway, but I will just say this. So when I had my injury, I tore my labor as you guys know, separated my shoulder. And before I ended up having surgery, there was lots of conversations with doctors. You could just rehab this, right? And the benefits of that are you get to avoid surgery. It's a little bit less taxing of a recovery process. But you're much more vulnerable to re injury, right? And I decided, you know, I've young family. I don't want to be one of those guys that I'm holding my kids when they're five, six years old and I can barely hold them up anymore because I just didn't do the surgery

36:02at the time. How do you guys have this available? That's amazing. The crap is that. You guys have this sitting around working. Are those listening at home and not watching our production team just threw up the breaking tweet from Adam Shafter immediately? Unbelievable. They've just got it sitting in the holster field. That's amazing. Anyways, the point I was going to make is when there was a between when I had the injury and when I had the surgery, even when I was told, like, yeah, you can go out and do whatever you can do things normally. You can go shoot a basketball right now. While you could do those things physically, there was always something in the back of your mind that was protecting yourself subconscious. Right? The only comparison I'm making between myself and Xavier worthy is that even though he was clear to play and medical staffers that are looking at him every single day and he is getting way more information than I probably am is like the consequences are much different. Obviously, too. But like he's getting hour by hour evaluations and they're saying like, you're good to

37:02go, right? I can only imagine that some part of him was a little timid. I love just for what it's worth. If I compared myself to a professional athlete, it'd probably be a cornhole player. And I love that you compared yourself to Xavier worthy. And I actually think it's pretty on point. All I'd say is just like I understand a little bit. If he came out and said like, you know what? I just wasn't myself last year. You would know why. You would know why. Understand that more than I would have to say that in general. Yeah. Yes. I'm with you on that. I love that. Also, I still think it's a great take because of Xavier worthy finishes a top 20 wide receiver. It also means Patrick Mahomes is probably doing some things for us in fantasy as well. So that is a, that would be a big one. All right. Give me yours here. And then I'll give you a round of applause for the one day Robinson. Yeah. Then issues as a top 10 wide receiver in fantasy football this season. Wow. About that. Kicking it up a notch right here. You'll do it. You know, I just come around on one day, after the last season where I thought for a while he was, he was Jarvis Landry. He was one of those like typical slot receivers who had a ton of volume come his way.

38:08But we weren't going to see a lot of big play upside. And Jarvis Landry to be very clear better career than one day up to this point. But he was a guy that was often was going to dominate the slot, right? Yep. These guys. Jarvis Landry Julian Edelman, Wes Welker before that. A lot of Patriots, Danny M. Indola, right. These guys are just going to dominate the slot, but don't have like field stretching ability as often. I felt like one day I showed me something more last year than I had seen from him previously. Over the past two seasons, one day is top seven in both catches and targets. Guys know my fan of Cardell Tate, but there's plenty of room for two wide receivers to have a real role in this offense this year. Definitely. Money was real for one day of this off season, familiar to the system. This is number three in terms of scale of hot takes, but he might be one of my by the end of the preseason, the biggest risers might be one day Robinson for me. I could, I mean, and as somebody that has proven the consistency, is consistency, the sexiest

39:15stat in fantasy football probably the most underrated. I mean, it might be most underrated in preseason, talking. Here's why we talk often, you know, we're using data points from prior years and we'll do things like Josh Allen's been the number one scoring quarterback in four of the last six seasons. Josh happens to be elite and consistent, right. But there are other quarterbacks like the year that two have finished whatever it was seventh and fantasy points that one year, right? Yeah, he finished seventh, but he had some absolute turn games as well. I forget the exact finish that two ahead, but the bottom line is that yeah, it's the end of season point total can be misleading because you can have 10 good games, seven crap games, and those 10 good games are enough to catapult you on top of the fact that if you play 17 games, that's a pretty rare thing now in the NFL. Yeah. So you are, you are rewarded at end of season scoring by just being available.

40:17Sure. So I, you know, I, I felt a little less optimistic about the stat that Mike has used so often about rookie running backs drafted in the top 12 because Ashian Gentie, who was a top 12 running back last year definitely did not feel like a top 12 running back week in a week. I agree with you. At the end of the season, it makes for like a nice little package to be able to put it together as a stat, but if you rostered Ashian Gentie as I did in a couple of leagues, it was more frustrating than it felt to look at. You didn't feel like it was a top 12 running back. However, I'm on to keep on moving here. Field Jates. My take is for Los Angeles charges. What? Top seven at the position. Charlie Kohler. No. Keaton Mitchell. Justin Herbert. Justin Herbert is one of them in Quinton, Johnson to make that. Prior to the other one. That was close. None. I probably went none there. You got one of, you got one of four. Okay. Justin Herbert. Justin Herbert nailed it. The path to Justin Herbert is, we know what the path is and you already kind of talked

41:19about it. I'm glad. I don't know if you did this on purpose, but Mike McDaniel, that two of season, 2023, two of three for almost 4700 yards, led the league in passing yards. I don't do a lot of the other things that he needed to do, but I do believe that Justin Herbert is a better quarterback than to a 498 rushing last year for a 498 rushing yards last year for her boat. It's insane. When you look at what he has done, we are clearly, we've seen him do it in the NFL. Yeah. Right. Last couple of years, and Mike continually reminds us this about Justin Herbert. Hasn't been great for fantasy. In 2020, he threw for 4300 yards and 31 touchdowns. 2021, he threw 5,000 yards and 38 touchdowns. I'm saying, even in 2022, he threw 4700 yards and 25 touchdowns. I think this is going to be an offense that goes back to that level of Justin Herbert. We're going to sling it. Like you know how much the coach loves this kid. They want to get out there and utilize his talents. So I see Justin Herbert being an easy top seven quarterback and you've got him ranked that way.

42:19I've got him. I believe ranked inside my top 10. That part isn't the spicy part of the take at the running back spot, Omarine Hampton. We know how you feel there. Still not a spicy part of the take. Honestly, we can move on. Right. And we all have him ranked inside the top 13. Okay. So we're looking at him as a low end RB1, a top 12 guy, give or take the kicker is Cameron Dicker, the kicker. Hey, hey, if we think that we're going to be in a spot where this charger's offense is scoring as many points as they are, even if sometimes we're getting in the end zone more and so on extra points, Cameron Dicker, the kicker could be a top seven guy here as well. And that leads us to the one that makes it the hardest to be able to complete this, which is Lad McConkey, even though we love Lad McConkey, being top seven is going to be difficult. He was wide receiver 13 as a rookie, right? And you look at the last couple seasons that Justin Herbert had when I mentioned those big years, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023. He had some really big years in 2021. Ken and Alan was wide receiver 11. Mike Williams was wide receiver 12.

43:20So he fed two guys in a major way. 2023. Ken and Alan was wide receiver three on a points per game basis. Wow. Wide receiver three average 21 points per game. That season played 10 games. We're going to leave for Ken and Alan. And so I know that it's possible with Justin Herbert that he can support a top seven wide receiver without question. He's supported two top 12 guys. And we've seen him do it with Ken and to be able to force feed that guy now in this Mike McDaniel offense. The path is just that all the things happen like we think it pot possibly could. McDaniel unlocks all of the things that we are hoping is going to they go back to Justin Herbert being the quarterback. He was earlier on in his career and this offense just opens up fields. Yates top seven at four positions. How you feel about that? I wonder the last time that happened. I wonder it too. It's probably more recent than we realize. And before buddy Kevin Pulse for his listening, KP could maybe tell us. How soppy if he's listening. Yes Kyle. He heard that out. Top seven in all four positions or at four positions.

44:21I should say, I think if there's a recent obvious example, maybe the Rams last year. So chance chase Brown wasn't seven. He was eight last year. Dang. Come on, bang. Anyways, I digress. Think about it. Yeah. I mean, we the bears and the chargers are under the most amount of pressure for any offense is this upcoming season. I say that because collectively like football brains everywhere. Yeah. So excited about what these two offenses look like in the case of Chicago, you're two of Ben Johnson in the case of Los Angeles, you're one of Mike Boudangal. It's a lot of pressure. Are we at the point where it's it almost anything other than perfection is going to feel like a let down because we've talked it up so much at this point. There are offenses around the NFL where if they finish 14th this year, you'll be like legit. Yeah. Way to go. There are other offenses where if the bears are 10th and scoring this year, it's going to be like, yeah, really disappointment. That's it. I know. Um, good one right there. I'm enjoying these hot takes me to this is a lot of fun. A lot of let's take a few more questions from our chat. Love being able to get these from our guys.

45:21Oh, Jeff C. We love Jeff. New York Jets will finish with two top 10 players at their position. That's going to be tough. Yes. And that's Breeze Hall and Garrett Wilson. I would assume so only way that happens. Right. Unless Geno Smith really turns it on. Like dedication to Juno Smith. I am more on the Mike Geno Smith bandwagon than you are. But I don't think Geno Smith is going to be that good. Yeah. Okay. Garrett Wilson can be a top 10 wide receiver. That was not the hard part for me. It's Breeze Hall. It's up to anybody. Breeze Hall is the hard part for me. I think if he stays healthy, it's possible. Again, this goes back to the whole 17 game season, right? A couple of guys miss just two games and all of a sudden, even if they average, four more points per game, they miss two and you've come close to a guy who's lower than you on a points per game basis. We have a fun one coming up on. All right. The next one here, this is Zebediah. Jordan Love is going to be a top five quarterback this season field. I thought about a Jordan Love hot take. I didn't go there, but I thought about it. I thought about it too, but because I brought him up yesterday as a play we hadn't talked

46:22about, I decided to stay away from it. Sit on it. But honestly, that was I, I think that we should think about the Jordan Love situation maybe a little bit more than we are. That running game, we don't know what it's going to be. Major question mark. It's crazy. All of a sudden, we have all this optimism on Marshawn Lloyd. It could happen. Yes. It's going to hurt. Yep. He has been barely able to stay healthy when he's not playing. Now he's going to actually play and it's like, oh, yeah, he's going to a stay healthy and be be really good. It's a lot to expect out of a guy. I could see, I mean, Jordan Love could have to Blake Bordel's his way through some games given with that running game. Yeah. Look like, all right. Let's do one more here. This one from Mike Moo 22. My hot take is that Tony Pollard field Jates will be this year's Javante Williams and finish as a top 10 back. That's the like it. That is a really hot take. I'm not sure that I know how Tony, I mean, if Tony Pollard is a top 10 running back, that means other things have really failed for the Titans offense, right? That's the biggest thing is that Javante Williams played really well last year. Couldn't be more. It's awesome to see a guy post type breakout get a new contract that he deserves.

47:26It was a great offense last year. Yep. Not confident to grade offense in Tennessee. Yeah. I'm with the hot take. It is a hot take. Yeah. Love the hot take. All right. We got one more here and then we're going to move on. King Rance a lot. We'll finish as QB five out of respect. That's good. I like that. I don't know. I don't know. Last play of the game, like takes a knee to bring his season long rushing total to a thousand and five. How good would that be? Amazing. That would be so funny. So good. All right. I think we're going to check in. I'm Mike one more time. I wonder where he's at now. Where? Guys, I thought we were going home. But now I'm here. All right. I don't know what to do at this point, but I guess I'll just give you my spiciest take at this point. I think the New York Giants will have a top 10 finisher and fantasy points at quarterback running back and wide receiver this season. Jackson Darn have been talking about him all off season.

48:27He was terrific. Last year is a rookie. And now if he's healthy, I think he's going to be tremendous. He was RB6 last year when he was the lead back for the Giants. So I'm going to stick with him. I think he can do it. And then of course, no shocker here necessarily, but Malik neighbors. If he's healthy, I think he can do it just like he did in his rookie seasons. So it's bold to lean that far into New York Giants. I guess it's the only place I could really do that as an Eagles fan, but that's what we're going to go with this season. So that's all I got. I would appreciate you getting me a Tyler Fulljum here. That was good. Mike Lysian and the gates of the fantasy hell with 30 year old running backs have a first round ADP. Oh, wait, you guys actually have a first round ADP and a 30 year old running back, don't you? That's real life. Wow. My bad. My bad. Anyways, how do you feel about Mike's take here? I honestly didn't feel that spicy to me. Yeah, it felt like a take like Jackson Dart.

49:29I want this to have their already inside my top 10 for their position. So it's kind of just came scatibu. I'm a little nervous. I've talked about like the nausea Harris of it all with came scatibu. But I mean, if I have him as RB 20 and I've got the other two guys already as top 10 players, yeah, this counts. This place for me. I agree with you. I mean, it's kind of way she had included that as a likely in here as well. I as even one of our more under discussed players definitely season, definitely. The hype has been good surrounding Isaiah likely. Yeah, I think he's become a recent target for me. I believe that we talked. Liz and I talked about him a little bit more earlier in the season when there was question marks around will Malik neighbors be healthy at the beginning? If not, there was the idea that maybe he could be one of the number one pass catchers in this offense, at least to lead it. We'll see what that means. But with the the rumblings that Malik neighbors seems to be trending towards plain sooner rather than later, even if not week one, I just it feels like some of that. Zhuzh has come off of Isaiah likely. But I think that's the time to get on him. Like you're talking about field. Zhuzh. That's a list. That's a list. I don't know. I just say it.

50:29It just sounds cool. Yeah. It's cool. What about you? Where are you going with your hot take here at the gates of fantasy hell? You know, in life, it's important to know your audience. Yeah. It's important to make people you work with happy. Lift them up. It's also important to give accurate fantasy takes. Okay. And Jared Gough will finish. It's a top three scoring quarterback this season. Let's go, baby. Yeah. I'm going to do one of these. You do. Yes. I will do the honors. I can't do that. I can't do that. I will. We have a gymnastics crazed house right now. We're going on cartwheels. The next thing is headstands. Jared Gough has finished his highest QB seven before. Yes. So it's not like quarterback three is totally implausible for him based off what we have seen up to this point in his career. He is going to need to have an absolutely monster season though. It's a thrower because he adds zero as a runner. I just dated the obvious right there. I'm going to come back to a few factors here.

51:31Jared Gough and the Detroit Lions are favored in 14 to their first 15 games this season. The schedule is unbelievably favorable. It is. Now, is it, does that mean that they are favored like being favored? Mm hmm. Should equates to point scored. It also just means they're playing bad teams. I think they're just opportunities to score here. Mike earlier, I mentioned his reference to his PDF, which has basically his forecast for the entire season. The Lions are forecasted by Mike to score the fourth most points in the NFL. I take that I generally agree with. I believe it was the Rams. One, maybe the bills at two, the Lions right there in the top four with the Cowboys as well. So bills, Cowboys, Rams and Lions, the top four scoring offices totally think it's possible here on top of that. The 14 and 15 games that I mentioned also very notable. Weather has been a thing for Jared Gough, of course, better playing inside than versus outside. You look at his December schedule. He plays two home games and then two road dome games. I think Jared Gough is just in for an absolutely massive season, potentially, which is why I

52:34know I'm very low on him with my overall rankings, but this is a hot take. So I'm going to love that. Did you say his December schedule is two home games, yeah, and then road road, don't so all four of the potentially weather affected weeks in December. He is going to be playing in a dome. That is a big thing for Jared Gough. We only quarterback over the last three seasons to have at least 4,500 passing yards and 30 touchdowns in each of the three seasons. The path to this field is a path that makes me nervous though, because we saw Matthew Stafford do it last year. But that was so reliant on the passing game. And if that happens, that probably means Jumir Gibbs disappoints the mashings in some way that we talk about, right? Unless he unlocks the CMC part of his receiving game and all of a sudden he just mashes as a receiver. So a couple things here. I forgot to mention the Lions have all kinds of injuries in the secondary, which means this defense could be very vulnerable. I also felt like my arguments was much more incongruent with my rankings than the other

53:34hot takes that I have delivered up to this point. I love it though. I have my concerns about Jared Gough, because while he could throw for 300 yards every single week, of course, there's the possibility of Jared Gough having some stinkers in there with 100. He could even have good games, 190 passing yards, one passing touchdown. But Jumir Gibbs has 150 total rushing yards and two touchdowns in the Lions to win a game. This is one of those things with him where he'll have that game that is really unfortunate for fantasy, but he's 17 of 19 for 198 yards. Exactly. A touchdown. Mike hasn't projected for 50 rushing yards, which is crazy to me. No way is getting to 50. No. Zero chance whatsoever. So yeah, Jared Gough, top three scoring quarterback. That's my hottest take yet. I love. No, that is a spicy take. Feel Jates. I love it. I have our closest before you deliver yours because you have a great final last take. Kyle Soppy, Mr. Dependable, oh, yes. Yes. The Jaguars missed that top seven thing last year, but they did have four in the top 10

54:35in total points. Trevor Lawrence, Travis, ETN, HN Shoot, their defense and Cam little. All were top 10 defense and Cam little. Okay. All right. Yep. If we can make it happen, what is my hottest take for the gates of fantasy hell? It is that Travis, HN, the aforementioned Travis, HN finishes as RB one this season, not in RB one as in the RB one in fantasy football field. Jates. Let's have a day. Helen Moore offense, fastest paced offense in the NFL. You look at everything that Travis, HN has done in his past. He was RB three in 2023. That wasn't that long ago. No, wasn't. But we've seen the passing game work that this running back can have in a saint's offense.
