Thanks to former Oriole, Adley Rutchman with a couple of homeruns. Before we get to the game in Rutchman, do you have any tape? We haven't talked to you since the whole Will Fleming V, all of New York conversation, which I was like flabbergasted by how overblown it was. I didn't think Wilder A anything wrong at all. The only thing he did wrong was apologize, but other than that, what were your thoughts on that whole thing? I feel that way too. I like... Okay. So, my feeling was, the stuff about him saying like, oh, he should go fight him. That's a little overblown. That's a little ridiculous to hear. Let me fight club. Oh, yeah. Let me fight club in a good shirt. Those are the parts of what he was saying that I thought were a little awkward if anything.

2:03It's just awkward to hear somebody say like, oh, fight him. We're like a grown adult. But the other stuff that he said about Jazz in particular, like... I feel like he... It was kind of run of the mill when you're talking about an opponent who's arrival. Yeah. And I feel like Jazz Chism, really like the way he plays. Bill himself has probably said stuff similar. I think other announcers have probably said stuff similar about him when he comes in a town of life. I just think you should incite violence. Okay. I guess that's where I draw the line with that. Okay. And that's just my personal opinion. But when he's like, they should throw it well. I feel like that's not out of line. He didn't say like, hit him in the head. He didn't say like, curtle him. He didn't say, go, he didn't like cross the line. So, what I saw was I think more towards what he was saying about Jazz. Okay. And people trying to interpret that as a certain way. I don't think... Knowing Will just a little bit that I do, I don't see that from his character whatsoever. No. And so I think it was just, you know what? It was just an opportunity that I think a lot of Yankees fans took to say like, oh, look at this with Boston again. And I don't think that that was the intention whatsoever.

3:05No, not at all. And anything to help the rivalry, I guess I'm in favor of. But then they all seem like giant babies about it. And like, Cam Schletler is like, weighing in on it and all these guys. I think whatever it takes to make that playoff series even a little bit more, I'm for it. Yeah. Also, unfortunately, it's not mean Will was, he had a scheduled series off that everybody, so like the next game he wasn't there. Everyone's like losing their minds. It's like, no, he wasn't on the schedule. He is back. He did the game in Baltimore where the ball was flying out of the yard down there. Yeah. Seven home runs in the game. That was ridiculous. Six of them. Six of them. Six of them. Six of them. And then they turned it over to Miller and Whitlock, which was good to see Chapman gives up the bomb. But thankfully, Roman Anthony had homer to give them a three run. It was funny because I was like, okay, there's a feel good homer for Roman Anthony. Like, don't even need it. Yeah. Exactly. Roman's been so excellent in the couple games since he's been back. You couldn't ask for him to do anything more.

4:05And I was like, that's nice. That's got to feel good for him. It also keeps going opposite. Yeah. And so you're like, okay, he's got a lot of power. He looks really good. He looks beyond healthy. He just looks really strong. And then it's like, oh, actually, they really needed that. Oh my God. That would be in the game winner. And so you get away with Chapman giving up a long ball. He does ultimately pick up the save. But Adley Rutchman was batting third in the lineup. We hadn't seen him for a little bit. I mean, me and Jones were talking about like, is he going to go on the IL? Where is he? He didn't pinch hit a couple of days ago where probably would have been a good opportunity for him to do it. And Chad Tracy went on with Rich and Ken and Ted and was like, he's dealing with stuff in his elbow. I'm like, stuff in his elbow. Is he like floating particles? What is that? And so I was like, that's not a great sign. But then he homeers twice and he like, that's great. And I view that obviously as a positive. But then part of me is like, does he just know the pitchers really well with Baltimore? Yeah. Is it Brandon Young this night? Yeah. I mean, that guy was no slouch. No, he was good, but I just wonder if like, I mean, Rutchman was catching him not that

5:07long ago. Yeah, I know. I don't know. He's a good put. It's a very solid point. He might have a good series, but then after that, he relied on it. He needs to study a little bit more than some of these pitchers that he's going up against. If that's all it's going to take, if it's not something that's physical, you know, then maybe that's a good thing. Maybe that's something you can work on. But this was in a weird way. I never thought, and we had a caller yell at us if you can believe it about me and Joe's are going through like the playoff lineup. He's like, playoffs, like this team's like losing games and like losing going crazy. I don't think they were in jeopardy of missing the playoffs. They had a five and a half six game lead over multiple teams. And there's like two spots. Not even like one team has to catch them. Like two teams have to pass them by. So I think they're locked in to their spot, meaning they're going to be on the road for the wild card round for the second year in a row in New York. But at the same time, I think they needed this one because they had struggled or they two and six or something like that in their last eight games. The pitching was bad. The Mariners series was pretty gross.

6:07It was bad. I think they needed this. And I was optimistic that they were at least going to their starting pitchers. They weren't going to be throwing openers anymore. They lined up sunny gray. They wanted to give him some time, which I'm fine with. But you throw Jake Bennett out there and you have like your top guys in the bullpen available. I think you kind of needed that one. It would have been pretty demoralizing, especially in a game where Rutchman hits a couple of homeruns. Had they lost that game late, it would have been pretty gross. And I think when you look at what they've been going through over these last two series, I do think a lot of it has to do with Contreras being out of that lineup. I mean, even just I went to the baseball is in boring night. Oh, it was excellent. Get the Jersey. Well, the event afterwards. Oh, the Cisco. I'm still promised a Jersey. I haven't gotten a guide. We'll see. We'll see. I don't know. It was a great event afterwards. The game was awful. And when you just look at that lineup, when I mean, I don't know how much Rutchman would have been able to provide in that in that particular game on Wednesday. Yeah, but that was so. Like you get into this stretch where it's Durand story long down at the bottom line.

7:09And you're like, oh my god. Like this is tough. If the top of your lineup just isn't hitting there, you just feel like you're doomed. And without Wilson Contreras, obviously it shortens things up a little bit. Right? You got to move guys around. They'll have an interesting problem on their hands when Contreras does come back because like you just sent Mickey Gasperdown, but because the best month of August, it was one of the best months in the history of baseball. And then you send him down, you call him up, you hit the home run. I know yesterday he was what over three, but he's making some really good place for days. I can't happen. If everybody else is hitting, if Adley's hitting two home runs, you can give Mickey Gasperd day or two. I agree. I agree. Not off from the team, like off from from Hinnick. Is the in Paris. 9:12I read an article in Sports Illustrated this morning about the possibility of Garrett Crochet and Tanner Halk of all people adding to that will leave bullpen. It seems like it's not a dream anymore. We forget about Tanner Halk. It was only two years ago that he was an all star with a 312 ERA in 30 stats. He had one of the best strikeout to walk ratios in the game two years ago. If you can add those two guys to give you an inning or two in the fifth or sixth and then hand it over to the other four guys at the end of the bullpen, I mean that's a dream.
