That'd be a pretty quick turnaround. But on Saturday the Elks were down 18 to seven at the half. They then trail 25 to seven in the third quarter before roaring back and winning that game.

2:08They'll score the stamps 24 to three in the final quarter. It's like they decided to turn it on. And Calgary was like, well, we don't we don't have an answer to this. What what is happening? Right? That's it's basically what it was. They just they didn't have a they didn't have an answer. So because Calgary scored that field goal early in the in the fourth quarter. And then after that 24 under answered points for the green and gold to win the game. So this team knows how to make a comeback. They believe they're never out of a game. They were down 25 to seven at one point. No problem. They came back. And what's crazy about it is there's like there's no real stat that stands out where you say the Elks scored 38 points. You know, passing Calgary advantage 214 to 181. The Elks did have the Russian advantage 163 to 90.

3:09The Elks only had one team loss of five yards. Right? They're net offense 339 yards, which which isn't a crazy amount of net offense when you're thinking 38 points. But it just isn't right now turnovers. Give away sacks. That was that was really that, you know, even that wasn't a big one. The each had each Edmonton had two Calgary had two. Second down Edmonton was 12 of 21 for 57.1%. Calgary was only 10 of 24 in the red zone after for and you know what I got to get props because early in the year they stunk in this category. The Elks were four for four in red zone opportunities for touch challenge yesterday. Four for four. Penelope's the Elks took eight for 70 yards. Calgary took 13 for 93. Now the 13 looks a little skewed because they took four in a row from the one yard line.

4:14So it took a lot of penalties, but they weren't, you know, it was basically nine to eight prior to that. Right? So fairly even on on penalty exchange. The the Elks, no interceptions, but they had two fumbles are covered. Again, they're they're they're feel goal kicker blanchored just continues to be money. He only had one field goal attempt, but it was a 52 yarder and he made it. More puns than I would like eight for Edmonton. 10 for Calgary. Not ideal. So time up possession. 31 24 for Edmonton 28 36 for Calgary. You know, Cody Fajardo. Cons is a fair to say that was his worst passing game of the year. Oh, yeah, probably like 17 to 31, only at 181 yards, one interception. And like he missed. He was overthrowing guys, a locked or he wasn't throwing now.

5:16He had his best rushing game of the year as he rushed seven times for 76 yards. When you're quarterbacks averaging almost 11 yards of carry. It's pretty good. Rankin had one rush of 50 yards and his other four were combined minus two. Justin Rankin still only carried the ball five times though. Like I'm sorry. It's just like what are we doing? Right? Like he had more targets as a receiver than he had handoffs as a running back in that game. Five carries six targets. He had five reception, but they were all in the back. They had little dips and dunks that didn't lead to anything. So I don't know. I will say that, you know, Shondarak Powell came in. He had that one series where he really seemed to add some energy to the running game. Had seven carries total for 38 yards. So not bad. But Justin Rankin at the end of the game, they'll look and say his average carry was 9.6 yards

6:18because he only had five. And one went for 50 yards. So his longest was 50. He had 48 total yards. Yeah, no, yeah, he's minus two on the other four carries. It's crazy. Yeah, it is. So you know what? Now, Calgary's D-line's pretty good, but defensively, I didn't talk about him. Nick Anderson had himself a game. He was all over the field. Twelve tackles. He had a sack. What'd you make of his hit? I think that probably could have been called the rough enough. Passing a little late maybe. I think they might have got to wait with one. Oh, I thought he got him right to chin, man. I thought he got to wait one for 100 percent. No, but you're not here. You'll take it. You mentioned the Fajardo kind of struggling. Remember last year we had him on afterwards and he talked about the field. Yeah, he doesn't like Calgary. Doesn't like, but yeah, the doesn't work for him. Yeah, he says it doesn't work because it's kind of how it is. It's kind of angled. Like it's rounded a little bit in the center. He hates it there. That's a really good memory. Conz probably should have talked about that again, because yeah,

7:20that because then he bounced back the neck on the rematch and was excellent. So something to, uh, something to watch for. Wait, I have to get that code from last year. I got to go find it. I liked it. So that's a really good memory. Conz awesome. Awesome stuff. But overall, you know what? Not a not a statistically like dominant game for Emton, but they won. But like offensively it was kind of a game. Overall like Cody Fajardo's running. It was probably their best and the one rushed by Rankin. All right, those are probably the highlights. All right, like Joel Robustelli, three catches. Julian Grant had four. Austin Maccalling caught two of the seven that were thrown his way. Dead three of them. He was open and Fajardo just missed him. Yeah. Right. Like through right over. Like especially that one in the in the flat. Like he was wide open. And, uh, and really like not missed him by a little bit. Like it was a lot. So should have had two touchdowns. Now, when he would have caught and taken to the house. But here's the thing they still despite only having 181 yards passing.

8:22They had four pass plays of 19 yards or more. Two of 26 and two of 19. So those four plays made up half of the yards in the whole game. Passing for Edmonton. So it was not a it was not a rip-roaring game by any stretch imagination. But not every game is going to be all the matters is day one. And, uh, now they're they're nine and three. Guaranteed to be at least 500. They're not losing six in a row. But they're guaranteed to be at least 500. Looks like they're going to have their first winning season in a long time. And now it's the, uh, um, the opportunity to, uh, to sweep the, uh, Labor Day classic, which is, uh, is hard to do, right? It's hard to do. How many times, uh, how many times does it happen? Cons want to look it up. But when was the last time? Um,

9:22all right. How often has a team swept the, uh, the Labor Day classic? Like I know in the 90s, the stamps did it a few times. Um, but it is, uh, it's rare, right? They've, uh, now the stamps have done it like quite a bit. Um, six of the last eight, six of between 2013 and 2021, the stamps swept it six times because he looks brutal. Well, they were brutal in 15. Obviously they won, but bottles other year. Emton, the last time they, uh, now I think Emton swept it in 2024. Cons, can you look that up? Even though they're bad, did they not sweep it in 2024? Am I dreaming? 2024, they won in Calgary and they won in the, yeah. So because I kind of made a late push, I think for the playoffs. Yeah, because prior to 20 to 2024, the last time they'd swept was like way back in 2000,

10:25I think it was four. Right? So they went like 20 years without a sweep. So now they could do it two out of three years, which is wild because the 2024 team had a good, that was under trade for it. They have that, that good second half of the season. Right? And it kind of got jumpstarted by that, uh, the, the Labor Day sweep. So we'll see if they can do it twice in three years. That would be, uh, that would be something for the, uh, for them. 13:29you guys believe that you're never out of a game. Yeah, man. I mean, that's just like what our coach preaches like we have, you know, just a great mindset going in every game. Like I said, it's the way they were coached and I just honestly just like believe in each other. Like I looked to my left and I looked to my right and I just, I just know that guys are going to fight for all four quarters. So I feel like we're in any football game, you know? Well, 100%. Um, obviously it wasn't the, well, defensively you guys put them on two and Alex, I think the first three series. So from a defensive standpoint, you're, you're probably liked it. Um, you just for you personally know it's obviously been a real big impactful season. You know what? You basically, you know, earned yourself the starting job after not being the starter to start the year. What do you feel like? What's allowed you to really kind of take that next step forward in your production as a delimit? Um, yeah, I mean, I've always known my ability and it's really just been leaning on God and him guiding me through the process, you know, through every high and through every

14:29low, just leaning on my faith and you know diving deeper into the into the scripture and into into Jesus Christ. So that's really been my biggest thing. Okay. Um, looking defensively as a group for, uh, for your team, what do you feel has allowed your defense to be as consistent as you have been all season as a group? I think just like knowing your personnel like, um, as far as our coach, like he's calling plays based on like who we are as players and you know, we're playing behind them and playing behind those calls and trusting him with those calls and knowing that he's a really good coach and just playing together, honestly. Like, like I said, I looked to my left and I looked to my right and I see, I see guys all around. I trust, you know, uh, break and get in and push the pocket. I trust scoop to, you know, help me out in the rush and I trust our DBs to give me enough time to cover. Who is, who's kind of like your emotional leader? Who's the most vocal on the defensive side of the ball?

15:32For me, I feel like it's different for every guy because, you know, guys that you Joe with differently, like, especially like all the field. For me personally, it's Joe DeBlenco because our favorite thing is when, you know, there might be a turnover, somebody fumbles them off inside of ball, whatever the case is. And me and Joe, look at each other and we smile and we're like, I mean, what else could you ask for? Like they just start to ball over. Like, you know, I mean, we hold them so a field goal right here and, you know, that now we're looked at as, wow, the defense did really good right there, you know, and now we're getting a praise for that. So it's like, we, you know, I mean, we find joy in it when, um, when things aren't, quote, unquote, going our way. And we look at each other, we smile, we give each other a headbutt and we're like, let's go. Let's do this. No, Taylor joins. Now, I know you line up on the other side of the D line, but what, what, what have you learned from Malik Karney this year? How has he helped you? Yeah, he's, he's helped me tremendously. I'm so happy that he's in our group, uh, really just like being a lot more physical because obviously he's a, you know, a bigger guy and he's known to be more aggressive.

16:34So and I'm like, you know, the smaller guy known to be a lot more speed and go around blocks, but, you know, he's been telling me to just, you know, play to my hands better and be more aggressive. And also that's just going to get you paid more, you know, like being able to play to, being able to pass rest, which is a great thing, but then also being able to stop the run, you know, that makes you a two, three down guy, um, as far as like, you know, playing up here and getting paid a lot of money and then even going back down south wherever the case is, you know, it's just putting good film on obviously and hope start to defend and help start to win more games. Okay. Yeah. No, that's, uh, makes it like he, he's a pretty dominant player. And I like, like, the great part is you mentioned like he's a little bit bigger guy. Like you're able to attack different ways. Size is just one element, but you obviously, you know, you're not going to play the game the way he plays just because you're different size than he is. And, you know, you've got that speed. No, but, you know, there's lots of guys who are fast who are never able to turn that into becoming, you know, kind of a dominant rush in from a technical standpoint.

17:35Have you made a few adjustments you feel that's really started to help you, um, benefit from that yard off the ball? Yeah. Honestly, it's really just, it's really just knowing like we are going against and just taking what the tackle gives you. Like, if you know you're a speed guy, it'll matter of your 210 to 3240. If you got a tackle kicking because you're scared of your speed, then you can easily burn power. You know, anybody can do that. So just a mix of the speed and a power to, you know, get to the quarterback. No, Taylor joins us. Uh, green and gold kind of walk us through this week. No, it's very unique. The day off today, then you guys have a late run through practice. I think it's like four o'clock tomorrow. Yeah. Then you have like a real practice on on Thursday and then another walk through. Um, obviously, I don't think there's going to be tons of change, but you've been through this before. How is this week different than other weeks? And what do you do to prepare to ensure that you guys can get this sweep on Saturday? Yeah. No, at this point of season, like, you know, the main thing, I feel like the same carrier

18:36bodies, which kill them is just, you know, great at helping us like through practice and stuff like that. And just find them a good balance between like you do need to practice and you need to practice hard, but like it also on board to take care of your body. So just find an act of balance. And what helps with that good balance is as a team, we take care of the mental load the right way, which is being locked in the meetings and being locked in on those walk throughs, you know, and taking them, you know, just as serious as a practice, just because the physical load isn't there, your mental load also needs to be there. Yeah. Well, and that's, is it much than mental? It'll be physical, right? Did you say, okay, body, let's roll here on Saturday. Yeah, exactly. And that's, I mean, that's what comes with the short weeks, which we've dealt with before as far as, you know, we play on Saturday and then got to play on Thursday at a way, at Winnipeg or a way at Sac. Like, we've dealt with it before. So is there nothing new to us? I do have to ask you, Noah, can you tell me what, what's the significance of you guys flapping your arms and birds on defense?

19:39What's that symbolize? I could be honest, I have no idea. I just know that they do it and everybody's celebration, I try to mimic, you know, when they make a play because I want to be supportive of the guys. So that's all it is. So you're just out there like, I don't even know why I'm out here flapping my arms because it's the secondary guys who started it, right? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. That's fair because like, no, the like the D line in the past for the else, like they used to have it at times would be a summer salt when there was a sack. You guys need a more concerted sack dance as a group? Uh, you know what? Maybe you're right. Maybe we do need to come over to a little something for me personally. I think I had it was against Winnipeg or hit the summer salt because you know those guys as Willie Jefferson and Jake, you know, they hit it too. So it's more, you know, I mean, I kind of wanted to hit that to Winnipeg, you know, whole game Friday night lights, like I wanted to hit that too. So, you know, you get to them games or night games in Edmonton, like I love to hit it. Obviously, guys, you know, you want to hit your celebration of your own dance, but obviously,

20:40you know, there's this Edmonton, it's double. It goes, it goes back a long way and there's a lot of traditions. So you want to rep that as much as you can. Oh, it makes sense, man. Like that one was, that one started kind of like in the early 2000s and fans always kind of like it, especially when you get like multiple. Sometimes it was like six or eight guys doing the summer salt. That was pretty funny. Yeah, not always one. So how about from a matchup perspective, you know, you're going up against the tackles, you know, the majority of your snaps. So having C1 and when you play a short week, right, like sometimes you'll play a short week, but you're playing another team. So you kind of have to prepare now you're playing the exact same team. Is it advantage? Defensor offense, do you think for you specifically at your position? Because you know, you're going up against that tackle, right? Like, does it, is there an advantage of all of going up against the same guy two weeks in a row? Yeah, honestly, my, my, my favorite thing that my coach is to say when I was in college, you feel like it, it don't matter what we line up and they still got to stop it. It's like there's no wearing man. I mean, they still got to, you know, do what they got to do.

21:41So it doesn't really matter what they know that we're doing. You know, I mean, if you're bringing it, you know, a lot better than it doesn't really matter what is going on on the other side of the ball. So I mean, we're just locked in on what we got to do. And obviously, you know, you got to have your switch up. You got to have your change up because they're also professional athletes as well. But you know, we're just focused on what we got to do and do it and do it better. Yeah, okay, that's fair. The arsenal, you mentioned being more physical. I want to go back to that a little bit. So using your hands, being more aggressive and fit or talking like swatting at their hands, how do you beat more physical with your hands? I honestly, it starts with like your get off. It starts with, you know, attacking the actual offender. Okay. And yeah, getting strike, you know, getting your helmet in there. They always say, you know, the crown of the helmet underneath the chin strap, getting good extension. But yeah, it all starts with just get off, which is definitely hard just because of that yard, you know, so they're going to have, you know, they have an advantage. And obviously, they're already, you know, a lot bigger than me. So I got to be very tuned into where I'm where I'm put in my head, where I'm doing my

22:44hands and what I'm doing my feet, make sure I'm not fall stepping things like that. Okay. Do you, do you follow and watch closely the other guys like Hicks is having himself a hell of a year in Calgary on the D line? There's no question. Oh, yeah. Do you, do you watch those guys feel like when you're on the sidelines in the game, are you watching or is that your, you're just like, no, no, I'm just resting here. I'll watch films to see what he's doing. Oh, no, I definitely watch. I was, I would say every time I'm playing another team, the guys that I go to is definitely if they played Calgary already, I'm definitely, I'm definitely watching Calgary. Okay. All right. And then obviously would score two more touchdowns after that to come away with a 38, 28 victory in Calgary. And they'll look to sweep the stamp for the second time in three years on Labor days because they did it in 2024. And they'll look to do it again this week. And if they do it, that will clinch themselves a playoff spot because Calgary won't be able to catch them or not. Yeah, Calgary wouldn't be able to catch them because Edmonton would own the tiebreaker. Plus Hamilton, the most points Hamilton get is 18. So a win by Edmonton puts them up to 20. So that would guarantee that they would at worst be the crossover for third into the. So an opportunity there and more importantly, just depending on what happens in that Saskatchewan Winnipeg game, maybe get a little bit of breathing room. There's six points up on BC and Winnipeg like a home game playoff, either first or second

24:49right now, the West semi final or the West final, with every win is looking much more realistic. If you're the out, if you go four and two, then that would give them 26 points and BC would have to go five and one by members. Yeah, if Edmonton goes three and three, just three and three, and then get up to 24 points. And BC is going to have to go six and 0 to catch him. Keep in mind that that's a reorganization process that allows a business to keep operating while restructuring its debts. It's different than chapter seven, which is a liquidation process that shuts down the operations to pay creditors. They're not there yet. Now maybe they'll get there, but right now they're in chapter 11. They're trying to reorganize things. So we'll see how that goes cons. They don't quite a bit of money right now.

28:58Yeah, there is some unscored claims. John Rom, 7.4 mill, a Bryson DeChambo, 5.7, Dustin Johnson, Councilman. There's a lot of guys here looking to cash in. It looks like here and that's certainly interesting. Who would have thought Gregor? Who would have thought this wouldn't work out long term? Yeah. They lived a good life though. Those guys had, I'm sure a lot of good times on that PJ flying around. But yeah, they're some big money being old still. When you look at live golf and I'm like, okay, wait a sec. So where they paid all these guys huge amount of money just to show up. You're telling me that that was not a flawed plan from the start. What? Like come on. Right? Like, you know, you had some investors with lots of money. But eventually, if you're not bringing in the money to have to pay all these guys, because like some of them got huge dollars.

29:59Then like Dustin Johnson get like a hundred million. Like it was, it was ridiculous amount. A money, right? Ridiculous amount. So I, to me, that's a little, it's not surprising at all. Yeah. John Rom was 300 million. Micheal Sin 200 kept 130 to Shamba 125, DJ 125. Who was 300 million? John Rom. What about Dustin Johnson? 125 million. John Rom, 300 million. Yeah. And then Rom, on course, earnings in those what, five years, 96 million. Okay. Well, that's pretty good. Yeah. Walking Neiman 77, DJ 66. So they got theirs. Yeah. Hey, you know what? I never get upset for the golfers. Like if someone came to you tomorrow to offer you whatever, whatever job you're in and said, I'm going to guarantee you this amount of money, a significant amount as if you

31:04wouldn't take it. Hey, you're somebody who's making, you know, a hundred grand a year, fifty grand a year, whatever your number is. And all of a sudden someone comes in and says, you know what, I'm going to guarantee if you come work for our company that you're going to get triple your salary for the next five years. You got to live in this city or you got to go, most people be like, well, damn, man, that's it's too good to pass up. I got to do it. So I could see why and here's the other unfortunate truth about live was come. What happened after the golfers left to live? Well, magically the PGA suddenly had more money to give out to their purse, right? Suddenly, just like this magical, you know, money tree grew in the PGA offices. And suddenly they were able to afford more like what a joke. You know, people can get mad at live golf. And like when Rory and these guys get all upset about him, like Rory, I think at times you're missing the plot a little bit, that your association only decided after they left.

32:12And we're starting to be like, oh my God, maybe more going to go, we're going to now pay you guys more money. Did they suddenly charge more for everybody else? No, they just had the money. They weren't paying you. Hey, and the golfers, hey, they were making lots don't get me wrong, but clearly they could have been making more because the golfers of the star of the show, they are. Like people don't tune in to see, you know, who's the head of the PGA? I don't even know who the head of the PGA is. Right? You tune in to see who's on the course. Who's golfing? And if you play well, you get paid. So but live golf, like I don't know, man, like I know they fall for chapter 11, but something tells me that it's this is the beginning of the end for sure for live golf. It was, it was, it was here for a brief time. Now to the Jays tonight, like, man, that was a sloppy game yesterday. First of all, it was one nothing. Did you see the botched place?

33:12So Kirk fires it to second base on a storm. Then he throws it back as the runners going home. They catch him in a rundown. Kirk follows them almost all the way to third base. And then he throws a Duffer. He misses the throw into the ground. And then I can't remember if it was Clemente or whoever, maybe it was Okamota, picked a ball up and then through, hit the runner. He scores. It's too nothing. So there was one glaring error. Then the Jays, they battle back, they battle back, they tie it up in the top of the ninth inning. Now I know this game was on late. So some of you might have went to bed last night. They tied up in the ninth and then they bring out Mr. Consistency in Varlin, but it's in a non-save situation. And I'm telling you, I think that matters to these guys. When you're in a safe situation, Cons, it's just, it's psychologically different than, oh, you know what, I want to push us through to extra innings. Right, you can't win the game in the bottom of the ninth in Varlin situation. And Varlin comes in and he gets two outs.

34:16He gives up two walks. He gives up two hits and gave up one run. So the bases are loaded. Now none of the hits were, were monster hits like, did you see the game winning one? It was a little off the end of the bat dribbler past the pitcher and then him and Es is rushing in bare hands. It throws it and can't get him out. It's a bang, bang play. Runner beats it out and they win. It was, it was an ugly game for the Jays yesterday. But like Okamoto hit a home run, Kirk in a home run, him and Es hit a home run. And what do we talk about last week, Cons, after Guerrero had his one big game and everyone's like, oh, Guerrero's back. I'm like, no, he isn't until he can have multiple big games in a week. He's not back. But he's not. Right. He's not, he's up, he's okay. But his power numbers aren't back consistently. Right. Still runners in scoring position, man. I don't know what he, what his batting averages off top my head with runners in scoring position, but ain't good.

35:18Right. He is not good. Like, he might finish the year with under 70 RBIs under 70 for a guy who basically hits two, three or four. Like, it's not good. So they'll have to bounce back tonight in Oakland. So they've got Soriano going on the mound and he's, he's going to need a good effort. Like I'm talking a solid seven innings, hopefully, you know, he's going up against Perkins. He's got a 6.5 ERA and a record of three and 10. Like, come on, baby, you got to win this game. Do you know what? Like, this is, to me, it's a must when you got the guardians and the Orioles tonight, you got the twins. They're taking on the, the Tigers and that was, the Rangers. Yeah, they're taking on, they're taking on Seattle. Now the good news for the J's is that even though they, they kind of blew that one last night, there's still very much in the hunt.

36:18They own the tiebreaker against Cleveland. They're one game back. Now, Texas is a game and a half back of them. Baltimore is three back. The twins, I think they're too far out. I'm going to, I'm going to eliminate Minnesota from the conversation. I think it's down to four teams. Cleveland, Toronto, Texas, Baltimore. And I know you can argue Houston, because Houston's two games up on, on Texas right now, but one of them is going to get in. So that, that third, are winning the, the West doesn't really impact the J's. They can't win that. So the J's got to beat out Cleveland. Baltimore and whether it's Texas or Houston, they got to finish ahead of that second team. So we'll see where they go. They're, they're schedule on paper. Isn't bad. Got two more games against the athletics and they got a day off. Then they come home for six and you got Baltimore and they could see Troy. So teams below them, Baltimore won't be easy by any stretch, but you would, if you're the J's, you, you need to win tonight and hope that maybe Baltimore can find a way to beat Cleveland for a second day in a row.

37:20So. Well, I'm sitting 259 with the runners in scoring position. Yeah. And he's hitting two, like, yeah, it's just, yeah, how many RBIs does he have in that, in that time span? Does it say? Doesn't say. Okay. So, I'm going to go for the first one for you, not regarding the J's without wild card race right now. Only one team in the wild card, you know, standings has a streak, a winning streak. Everyone else, the most they won is one in a row. Only a few teams are above 500. The J's being one of them in their last 10. Do you think the Red Sox gets the Yankees? They've won five in a row here. Like, they're just, they seem to be incredibly streaky. Two games back. Right now there, like I said, five wins in a row. Yeah. Now, the Yankees have two games in hand, but the problem with the two games in hand, that means that they have way less rest down the stretch. So now the big man's coming back for the Yankees. So that is, that's a pretty big help. So I'm going to say, I'm going to say no. I think the because those teams are basically battling for for a home field advantage in the walk art, right? Because it's four or five. They can't, they can't figure like no one's catching them from behind. I wouldn't think Cleveland's like seven games back of Boston. I don't see them or the J's catching them. And the raise or what four games up on the Yankees, right?

40:06And six up on Boston. So yeah, I think it's just going to come down to that's a great rivalry and good for them. I'm sure all the Toronto people that complained about the, the, the, the, the seedings in the NHL will be complaining equally hard about the seedings currently in MLB, right? They're going to be complaining about how it's unfair. It's terrible. Something tells me Connor that will not be happening. Probably not. 356 coming up in the four o'clock hour. We got the round table right after four o'clock also will get to, um, coming up. We're going to go to, uh, to Boston later on and, and I'm telling you, order fans, you don't want to think about it, but, and hate me. If this salary cap going up that much, maybe it really doesn't matter because the only guy who's due for a big raise potentially next summer, uh, with the cap going up another nine million is massive. Boy, so it's probably not really a major concern, uh, for the eminent owners, but you know,

41:09if you're everything on free agency, which, you know, I'm not sure eminent is a big player as far as big tickets go, uh, in free agency. We'll see, but, um, it's more of a, as a following summer when Conrad David deals up. That's, that could be a big one. That's not exactly, I mean, both at the same time. We'll see.
