The White House says Iran is looking for an exit out of the war.
Press Secretary Caroline Levitt says since the U.S. has taken out Iran's military, it's
clear to them that now is the time to talk.
Their ability to attack American and ally forces, as well as their ability to defend
their own territory, is dwindling literally hour by hour.
Levitt said if Iran does not deal, the U.S. will only ramp up its military offensive
against the Islamic Republic.
President Trump expressed optimism yesterday that the war would end soon with the ongoing
talks.
The White House is pointing the finger at Democrats as the partial government shutdown
drags on.
Democrats rejected a Republican proposal to reopen the Department of Homeland Security
with only partial funding for ICE and instead offered a counter-proposal today.
Press Secretary Levitt says Republicans have already offered plenty of concessions with
regards to ICE.
The stalemate has led to extremely long lines at TSA checkpoints at airports across the
country.
Social media giants may have to make major changes after being found liable for addicting
kids to their platforms.
This after the jury in Los Angeles today sided with the plaintiff a young woman in the landmark
federal trial involving Instagram's parent company Mehta and YouTube's parent company
Google.
She accused the companies of designing their platforms to get her hooked early on, leading
to depression and suicidal thoughts into adulthood.
She was awarded $3 million in damages for the negligence involving the companies, Snapchat
and TikTok previously settled with the woman.
The Army is updating its enlistment policies, beginning April 20th, the maximum age for
new enlistees will increase from 35 to 42.
The branch also lifted the requirement for new recruits to receive a waiver if they
have up to a single prior conviction for marijuana or drug paraphernalia possession.
Parts of the Midwest and Ohio Valley are expected to cease of your storms nearly 50 million
people could be impacted as the cold front comes through the region causing frigid winter

A new Lord of the Rings movie is being developed by Stephen Colbert, Warner Bros. released
a video last night with director Peter Jackson announcing the new project and introducing
the late show host as Jackson's partner on the film titled The Lord of the Rings Shadows
of the Past.
A plot of the movie comes from chapters of the fellowship of the ring that didn't make
it into Jackson's 2001 adaptation.
Maybe that could be its own story that could fit into the larger story.
Could we make something that was completely faithful to the books while also being completely
faithful to the movies that you guys had already made?
Colbert is a well known Lord of the Rings expert and said he's been working on the idea
with his son, screenwriter Peter McGee, and developing a screenplay over the last two
years.
In the video, Jackson asks Colbert if he'll have time to work on the film because of his
show when Colbert said he'll be free starting this summer.
The final episode of the late show with Stephen Colbert is scheduled to air on May 21st.
