The deputy administrator of the TSA is issuing a warning as the agency continues to face
severe staffing problems.

Hanuman McNeil warns Congress that staffing shortages tied to the partial government shutdown
could force the agency to close small airports.
McNeil says 460 TSA agents have quits since DHS ran out of funding last month.
The TSA chief also cautions that the issues could have dire consequences for the country's
ability to prepare for the fiefal world cup, which is scheduled to have games across
11 different U.S. cities.

Meta is laying off hundreds of employees.
Multiple reports say workers are being laid off in Meta's recruiting sales and social
media teams.
And in the division that develops Meta smart classes and VR headsets.
A company spokesperson told the Verge that they're finding other opportunities for employees
where possible.
Meta employs about 79,000 people.
The layoffs commas Meta's projected to spend about 135 billion dollars on AI data centers.
New guidelines from the Vatican say Catholics may receive animal organ transplants.
A new document released by the Catholic Church found no objection to using animals as a source
of organs, tissues, or cells for human transplants.
The document also outlined ethical and medical standards for animal human transplant procedures
known as Xeno transplantation.
The Vatican said Xeno transplants could offer an unlimited supply of organs, tissue
and cells, relieving the chronic shortage of human donors, while also noting the need
to avoid any chance that the recipient's genome will be altered.

The CDC says more than 10,000 TB cases were reported in America last year, including
967 in New York.
That's the most of any U.S. city, and that reverses three decades of decline.
The disease, also known as white plague, primarily affects the lungs and is the world's
deadliest infectious disease.
Health experts say cases are often missed, because TB can be mistaken for flu or RSV.
Delays and treatment have led to a surge in antibiotic resistance to first-line tuberculosis
drugs.

Disney is walking away from its $1 billion investment deal with OpenAI.
The decision comes after OpenAI made the surprise move to shut down its Sora AI video app.
The deal with OpenAI would have allowed users to create videos using hundreds of characters
from Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars films.
Disney had plans to integrate some of the Sora-created videos into Disney Plus.
William Shatner says he would love to see the new Star Trek series continue at Story
from Mark Mayfield.
Keeping Kirk weighed in on the cancellation of Star Trek Starfleet Academy, with a reflection
on the franchise's history and cultural impact, Shatner wrote in a post on social media
that not a lot seems to have changed when observing public response to some of Star Trek's
taboo content.
He even asserted that based on today's vernacular, the franchise would absolutely be called
a woke DEI crap because it went against the norms of society for its time.
Shatner expressed sorrow over the series' termination, and said he believes Star Trek
should exist for a long time.
