The “Left Behind” Verses Don’t Say What You Think | Ancient Roots Ep. 51

JT's Mix Tape

About this episode

This episode of Ancient Roots of Life & Wellness goes straight at some of the most quoted—and most misunderstood—passages in Scripture.

JT and Josh examine what happens when verses like Philippians 4:13, Jeremiah 29:11, “judge not,” and Christ's warning that “one will be taken and the other left” are put back into their surrounding context.

Was Paul really promising that Christians can accomplish anything they set their minds to? Does “judge not” mean believers can never identify sin? And perhaps most provocatively: when Jesus says one person is “taken” and another is “left,” are we sure we actually want to be the one taken?

The conversation also explores Ecclesiastes, the meaning of “new heavens and a new earth,” biblical cosmology, Genesis, light and darkness, the harvest imagery of Revelation, and the popular Left Behind interpretation of prophecy.

Then JT and Josh continue their study through the Gospel of Nicodemus, examining its account of Joseph of Arimathea and asking how this ancient text fits alongside the larger gospel narrative.

Sometimes a familiar Bible verse changes completely when you simply keep reading.

You know what quality feels like? You can see it in the way a fabric moves. Recognize it in a flawless fit and appreciate it in the details that make our styles unique. That kind of quality doesn't happen by accident. It happens with imagination, creativity, and intention. At Coldwater Creek, it's the design standard we've honored for over 40 years. Our rich, mountain heritage has shaped how we think about clothing from the very beginning, with a commitment to quality that never quits. Exceptional fabrics, considered design, silhouettes we've made our own. The signature touches that set each piece apart and styles that are distinctively cold water creek. on four by fours that refuse to be contained, like Jeep Wrangler, confidence built into every drive with the most awarded SUV ever, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and freedom that can't be denied with the open air freedom in Jeep Gladiator. For 85 years, it's no surprise that Jeep became America's SUV brand. Get a great deal during the Jeep drive into Fall sales event. Jeep is one more awards over its lifetime than any other SUV brand, even the Jeep Grill or Registered Trademarks of FCA US LLC. Again they made a whole movie series about it. They called it Left Behind. I remember as clear as day when I was like in middle school and it was like one of those 70s versions of that. I think it was called Thief in the Night and they used to have this so cringe. You've been left behind. I want to say the DC talks that cover on that song. Two were going up a hill and one was left standing still or something like that. I wish we all been ready. Have you heard that song? No, but man, that's messed up. But that's what the song is about. The song is about the one who got left behind was going to go face the Antichrist.

But the irony of it is, but it sounds like it's the one who's taken is going to face Jesus when he's about to tread the wine press. You know, so if you think about it in that context with the Thief in the Night actually means, it means that you're going to have to face him. If you're going toe to toe with the King of Kings and he's not in a good mood. Hey, what's going on, y'all? Welcome back to the Ancient Roots of Life and Wellness Podcast. Once again, I'm your host JT. And as always with me, I have Josh Truex of Modern Reats Life. What's going on, Josh? Hey, brother. Hey, guys, nice to see you. Good to see you, brother. Well, not see you, but nice to be as you guys. We're working on the tri-factor. We've got three weeks in a row. We were a little bit of a struggle to make this one work. But we are here and I was really encouraged. I was telling Josh the other day that a lot of people are really enjoying this podcast. And I know that from my perspective, like I,

so I know, I know this is not your typical Bible study podcast because we do talk about a lot about everything. But it is nice to see that when a lot of people show up for JT's Mixed Shape, because you can get, it's obviously a variety show. I mean, that's what it is. We talk about everything. We talk about some Bible. We talk about some cultural topics. We talk about some old world buildings. We talk about meltology. We talk about everything. Aliens and all the like. Of course, we talk about the gospel and that. But it's really cool that a lot of people are really appreciating this podcast because it, I mean, I would say that we still talk about a lot of those same things, but it's more centered around the gospel. It's centered around Bible topics. It's centered around things we found in scripture. And then obviously our Bible studies, like again, as we continue today with the gospel of Nicodemus. Anyways, I just thought I'm really encouraged about that. Yes, that's, you sent me that text and that was really cool to see, especially when you get to see the metrics, because I'm just now getting into having a YouTube channel that I actually pay attention

to and use. And it's cool to see those metrics. Like I did, I was honestly surprised by that. Even though it's, it's kind of funny if you see the course of like how me and JT, like met and then like how the show is evolved. Of course, I'm the health guy or whatever, but I have that on Temple Maintenance Josh. You guys are welcome to check out or any of the Instagram pages and stuff, you know? So it's always there and I'll do a little tidbit in each show and stuff. But in reality, it's kind of like, it felt more awkward, honestly, and we were doing it that way in the beginning versus like this. Because when me and JT would talk, sure, we kind of linked up on the health thing because it's something that obviously is good for everybody. But it's more so the passion behind the scripture and the kind of urge that we have, not to find the next best thing as much as it is just to keep digging and read stuff. And I told JT, it's one thing that grew me into the Torah community when I was in parable of Inherit and alongside Adam Finck is the readings. You know, the line by line readings and everything. And people just, they were edified by it.

They learned from it and it's a big missing piece in the church, at least from my experience, what I grew up in. None of more people are getting into it. But so much of what's missing is just a lack of understanding for the word because people simply just aren't in it. Or they're not in it because they don't feel like they have somebody who can not lead them, so to speak, but just kind of be with them and maybe be like bounce ideas off of them and stuff. So doing it now, I think it's really cool because I don't feel like me and JT for weeks now, at least or a few of the shows, have had any kind of like, what are we going to do today type of thing? It seemed not like it was force force, but it wasn't the natural thing. Like now we're like, okay, cool. We're going to make sure we get to the reading because that's like our jam. And then it has a lot of dialogue there. You know, it's gotten me to just like, you guys see like the notes. It's, this is kind of the coolest read through I've ever done because I'm like, I'm going to take and put a note on here and just see it. And it's made me read the lines even more detailed than what I was. Because I'm like, I don't want to miss one because me and JT could talk about it. Share it with you guys. And then you guys are writing me emails now quite a bit and saying,

you know, it's a joy to see the different responses you guys have and what experience you guys are having here. And then the things that you make me think about too, that's just, it's so cool. I think that's the best thing about doing podcasts is the comment section when they're not destroying you. And that kind of side of it. We take the good with the bad. But yeah, I would say that, of course, some of the best connections we've had on this podcast so far was from people messaging us, emailing us, DMing us and saying, hey, check this out. No, but it absolutely, I agree 100%. But it's encouraging to me because I'm somebody who likes to find the kind of the hidden treasures in the Bible, in the Septuagint. And so it's cool for me when I could just share that. And so like the more that I realize people are kind of geeking out with us about the same kind of topics. And I do think it's also a situation where like you and I have, I mean, we're at, this is episode 51. So I'm almost like a year's worth of a pot.

I mean, it's been over a year, but like a year's worth of actual us coming together in each week. And so I think that we finally, I think we've caught our groove now. But I got a verse here. So let's get right into it. I got a verse here, Josh, and it's funny because I just finished the Cleasy Ask. And somebody else quoted this and I'm sorry, I can't give you credit for it because again, somebody in the comments mentioned this verse as we've been kind of going over that topic of age or a onus versus like whatever the word is in your maseratic text, whatever your KJV, if it's world, if it's age, what does the word actually mean? Is it forever? Is it eternity? And so here's a verse. And I'm just curious what your first read is on this. So this is Ecclesiastes chapter one and this is verse four. And it says, a generation goes and a generation comes and the earth stands into eternity. And I want to say just like if you like a straight reading of it, like in the maseratic

text, it just says, and the earth stands forever. So it's kind of like that, you know, from what we believe or release what we've kind of like our expectation is is that there's going to be a new heaven and new earth. Like a sick little nature. But is that actually, but the real question is, is it similar to our own kind of maybe misunderstanding about when Christ is talking about the end of the world and all of it discourse where he's actually just talking about the end of the age. So we're picturing the destruction of the earth. And it's like if God created the earth and he said that it's good, does he really need to destroy the whole thing in order to, you know what I mean? To like make it new again. You think about it, even like the way that you could have a desolate place and then somebody could take care of it, they could fix the soil, they could start getting things growing. You know what I'm saying? Like couldn't God, like God's natural creation can heal itself.

He could heal. He could heal it, right? Yeah, yeah. So it shows waters from New Jerusalem kind of feel that you get, isn't that Zekariah? And the waters will go out and like restore the horse. Well, and there's also in Ezekiel when it's talking about the new temples that there's the living waters that flow and you have trees that produce a new type of fruit like every season and fish, a bountiful mouse of fish and things like that. Yeah, it's, it's, I mean, right when you said that one passage, it definitely like that last, when you said the last part, I'm like, oh, that's not, I got my, my light bulb radar on for those, those passages. That one definitely is one that makes you wonder like what it's really talking about, especially when you like, what is it? Like when it says a new heaven, a new earth, it actually says a new heaven, a new land, right? That's like what the word is there for earth is, is land in the strong. So kind of makes me think for a scriptural cosmology the way we believe kind of more profound, like literal waters separated from the earth, you know? Like if it's like a new heaven and like that's coming down and then like a new land, it's

restored us literally just talking about, you know, like heavens is the waters above kind of thing like that instead of this whole vast universe, even though it is probably pretty fast, if it's all like, you know, we talked about messengers or I wrote that down how many times it said, I think it was like three or four times it references the his children, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, like all the way through as the sands and the stars. So I was like, wow, it's like it constantly references that. So whether it's the his children or the angels the way you know, we see in scripture, it could be big and vast, but it seems pretty literal. But I don't know if that changes anything on it, just more like thinking about how scriptural cosmology is less of this big ball flying through, you know, and all the stuff around it in more of like water that separates. Now there's land and there was a heaven above it, which is stretched out and when that comes down, it's just a new heaven, new land renewed. But that was a tangent. I went on a run going with that. No, no, I think it, well, I think it's a situation. When you're talking about a new heaven and a new land, like just think about it maybe

from the perspective of what the people reading that might think of, because they don't believe in a planet earth, right? There's no planet earth. Like that's what I think that's a thing. Even if you believe in biblical cosmology, it's very hard for us to separate the idea that the earth is everything. But when he's talking about like when it's talking about a new earth, the word is land. So it's kind of like that you could almost say that you're on a new land if you moved to China, right? You could move, you could move to a place you've never been before and you're on a new land. And you know what? You might look up and there's a different heaven above you. You know, I mean, that's, I mean, I'm not saying it's that, but I'm saying it could be as simple as that is that, you know, a lot of people who are, you know, kind of, you know, go by what Madeline talks about with like Terreira de Eso at the land of Jesus. That's really not my, I'm, again, you guys know my opinion about that. But the idea that, you know, like in the Tolkien mythos, right?

You have, you have the undying lands. And it's like literally across the sea, right? It's like, it's on the terrestrial plain that they're on. You go across the sea, you go west, and then you go into these undying lands. And it's like, it's a new earth. Yeah. Right? It's a new earth there, a new land. And then you would have a, you would have a different, you would have a different cosmology above you. I mean, that's the thing. So regardless if you believe that we're on a spinning ball or you believe in biblical cosmology, where if you do go to the farthest reaches like to Australia, the heaven above them is different than the one that is above Josh and I. Yeah, sure. Now, it's just perspective wise. I mean, it's like the same. Like if you're talking about in totality, it's the same one. It's just all part of the same one. But what they look up, they see different stars than we see. So is it something as simple as that? I mean, I often do wonder if, yeah, like when he says, I mean, because I don't know, I guess, I guess the one thing I don't really believe is that God's going to destroy where he's

at right now. What you're taking on that, on that, the big clock, you know, the ones. Oh, are you talking about the, the Prague clock? Yeah, because if you look at like what vibes, vibes of cosmos says that granted, they have the middle earth map over there on their vibes of cosmos on the other parts of the therapist, which is pretty cool. But, you know, they have the other parts where they show Pangaea, literally the way that it almost exactly the way that people depict Pangaea, but it shows it like that it wasn't another land, maybe right now available. Maybe it is, but it's, it's over there. And that's where it previously was, like where humanity was and everything. And I just don't know, like it kind of seems like, oh, that'd be crazy. If it did rotate around like that, would that explain the whole, how the maps and the, the ancient maps seem to like have Antarctica uncovered? And now it's all ice and. Yeah, we actually, I actually did a podcast with my friend Seven Club and we were talking about that topic because yeah, like you compare this to what people talk about the moon map.

And so like the idea is that you have this circuit of the sun, which the prod clock showing. So like if you look on here, I'm not sure, I can't, it's hard to tell because this picture is not big enough. But like, you know, they had some people they, they went back in, they took out a flat earth and they put a freaking globe in there. That looks like more like the earth. Yeah. And so what you're seeing here is that the circuit of the sun is only exposing part of the earth. That kind of makes sense to me. It's like if the sun goes on a circuit, everything inside of where the sun's circuit is would be warm in light. So everything outside where the sun would go would be cold and dark. But the concept is like so you obviously have all your, your zodiac signs are over here or the zodiac signs are here. But there's like a greater realm here. And like the idea is that if you look behind me on this map that I have behind me here, just imagine the circle is only where the sun goes. Yeah. And like if you believe in the concept of like an ice wall, it makes sense like where

the ice wall would be, it would be like stuff would freeze outside where the sun's at. But what you're seeing is like even when you think about what they call it, like the great procession of the zodiac or the masroth, the sun's circuit slightly deviates. It moves. It's like, so if you think about the earth being like much bigger, like the realm where the earth is. Yeah. And if you really think about it, I mean, this, this kind of ties into what we're talking about in the book of Genesis. So when God created the earth, it doesn't actually, no, it doesn't even say created the earth. It's like wait, it's a story is how when he created the heavens and the earth, but the description of him, he's not like making a brand new earth. He's just moving water out of the way and he's telling water to gather for earth to be exposed. So if that's kind of the process in the very beginning, like could a new earth literally just be, if we are on this broad plane surrounded by water, like water could be, like, you

know, earth could be exposed anywhere where God wants it to be. Like there's earth under all the water. But God is just amazing, right? The pillars is basically, it's kind of like an extension of the pillars, like the mountains of the pillars almost that kind of form a bedrock sitting on top of the pillars. That's the way I look at it. It's like the deep oceans is obviously, it's so simple to me. It's just like a, like they, why do they call it project fish bowl of Dominic, of course, you know? So I mean, it's as simple as that to me. The bottom is like a big rocky, whatever, the more you go down there, the more it gets like. And there's like mountains under the water and there's ridges and there's trenches. Yeah, but it's kind of like the concept that what some kind of people who would be considered would a quote, unquote, flat earth or even biblical cosmology, they would say the reason you can't go to Antarctica is because you're going to be able to go touch the dome. The ferment rests on Antarctica. Now, but this concept is, I think still remains biblical or at least it's not anti-biblical is the idea. No, the ferment is goes way past where Antarctica is.

It's like it's way, it's way, it goes way more vast. It like it goes, like unfathomable how far you would go. You know what quality feels like. You can see it in the way of fabric moves, recognize it in a flawless fit and appreciate it in the details that make our styles unique. That kind of quality doesn't happen by accident. So the idea is that no, you do have this icy part, but you could go past it, but for all intents and purposes, like you really, there's really not much you could do there because it probably would be, it would be dark and it would be cold. If there would be no, like, you know, there wouldn't be, there wouldn't be the sun there. Can I interject one thing before you continue? Oh sure, go ahead. Think about that clock and how far it would move in a thousand years. And then if it was frozen after the a thousand years and it wasn't before how they would

race over there and do all their expeditions and all the stuff they're doing now, could it have frozen over in those a thousand years when it moved if the clock is true? And now that's why they're over there, like it used to be un, like, civilized and had all their ancient, whatever over there. Do you see the pyramids and stuff? If that's all true. And that one thing with the helicopter landing on what seems like the world's biggest tree I've ever seen chopped, if that's like were that base in an order. Oh yeah, yeah. I remember my buddy Ricardo did a video about that way back in the TikTok days. That's a pretty wild look. That's an old video, I remember, but that's like, man, I don't know. Maybe they were full and also say I back then. But anyways, that's all I wanted to interject is like, you just made me think of it. I have one thing I want to show you when you're done too on the, I don't know if you've ever seen the 1776 South Carolina flag, but it's like literally what we're talking about right now. Oh yeah, well you can share it. Yeah, I just want to say that one last thing is that, so the idea is like the procession of the zodiac. So basically like the zodiac ages, like of course in this community now, like I have no idea which zodiac rage we're in, if it's, if it's Pisces or if we've entered the age

of Aquarius, but I want to say each zodiac age represents about like 2.1 thousand years I think, something like that, like 2,100 years. So to go through the great procession of the zodiac, I believe it's right, it's supposed to be like 26,000 years. Now it's interesting because of course we know based on what like the genealogies that Adam is not 26,000 years ago. But we did just read, we read last week, then we were, weren't we reading about it? Was it last week or 2 weeks ago and it was talking about, oh no, I think it was last week. No, it was 2 weeks ago. Sorry, I'm confused because we haven't released that another episode yet. Yeah, but 2 weeks, 2 weeks ago we were talking about the ages before, like the earth, like before the earth was exposed. So if you think about it, like if God created all these other things first, then yeah, we could have, like those zodiac ages could have existed before he created man. It doesn't mean, again, it doesn't mean that they were created in a time where the earth

was just going on without man. It was just like these were, these were ages that were before, like earth was created or formed, whatever word you want to use. Yeah, a lot of people are speculated on that and then kind of get defeated because they'll think of, well, was there people before that? Is this like a cyclical age? Are you saying that this starts over and my mind cannot even bear that. So I'm not even going to, that gets in a whole lot of time. No, we're not saying any of that. We're just saying like that it does say that there's ages before creation. Yeah, which makes it easier. That's all we're saying because that's what the Bible says. You guys can read into whatever you think that means, but we're saying that, like how do you define an age? I mean, in one way, it could be like an Azodiac age, Mazroth age for the Hebrew cosmology. Can I show you the flag real quick? Sure. Go ahead. So this has always been one that stuck out to me. So you see here, this is like they have this whole liberty is like, here's the seven

continents and it looks like Teravista that goes around the same way that shape is. And like the, you got the, what is it? Let's go. Stop. Are the crescent moon? This is just like the same thing to me. It's like the seven continents and then even though it's not seven, you know, but like and then this, this range symbolized everywhere with obviously the moon here, but you know, when you look at the map, it's like, this is where we would be. Can you click on that? Can you make that bigger? Yeah. Like this is, this is where we would be. And I can make this like way big. There we go. And then here would be like Teravista and like Tera minor or like what all those, those other ones, Tera, whatever, if you get there on the, like if you go into the, here's a really easy one for it. I have to go. Let's go. One sec. There we go.

Here's the main one. One sec. I have videos. It's popular. Yeah, the world map here you go. Share. Like if you look on, you want to turn the music on? Yeah, you know better than I do. Yeah. So like you can see on the map how they do this. I don't know if you guys have ever seen vibes of cosmos. The guys, I think it's like a scientist team out of Italy. Yeah, so that's the idea of the moon map. So there's more. What the most would be out here is what I'm saying. So not to cut you off. But here we go. No, yeah, but the moon, yes, for people haven't heard this concept. It's the idea that almost like the, the moon is like a, like almost an x-ray image of

what's on the land below. Like a negative, right? I guess. Yeah, something like, yeah, like a, yeah, exactly like a negative. And the reason it doesn't look perfect is because it's only shown part of the earth. Because it's, there's more earth on the earth than we know about. See, it says has like little more and stuff on here too, but it even says if you look at this one, it's got a. Since we're over here, I always talk about this. Can they actually show? There you go. He shows you on the. So that would be where we are now. Like this is showing like where the sun and everything currently is and where the rest of it is saying where that kind of clock we're looking at would have been moving from. But that makes sense because in a seven clubs presentation, he's basically saying that

if this is true, if there's any merits, this theory is that, you know, scientists would talk about certain ice caps melting, but they would also be freezing somewhere else. And he said, that's actually true. And he was kind of showing like the work where it was actually freezing over because it makes sense. So the sun is moving into an area that has not been in a long time or ever. And it's starting to thaw ice out. And you do kind of wonder that like you imagine that in a place like Antarctica, right? If something was it was becoming more inhabitable, like what if in ages past, there was civilizations under there. And as the sun's kind of moving over there a little bit, or maybe somewhere even the Arctic that the old civilization is being exposed. Like that's something they would hide, right? You know what I'm saying? Like we often ask like what they're hiding in these places. It could be more land past it or it could be just the fact that. Just being exposed by the sun, the new circuit of the sun or the current circuit of the sun.

One thing I did want to say before we move on from the Genesis subjects, it was, I'm in Exodus right now. I just finished the whole. They're about to leave and do the Passover. But I've always thought about that beginning part, you know, let there be light because it doesn't say that darkness was created. I mean, it could have been, but it just says that darkness was separated from the light. And so you think about like a lot of people think that the light was Messiah, right? It doesn't say that he was created or anything, but it's just people theorized that could have been when he was brought into, you know, however the father did it. But the, let there be light, the darkness isn't created. And then what was I saying? I lost my dream of thought. But the thing in Egypt, one of the plagues leading up to the Exodus is a three days of darkness. Right? And I was like thinking, you know, a plague of darkness. And then like, you know, in the, they had the light, so to speak, you know, it was like the three days, like Jonas, like you'll have to sign a Jonah, like these people go into.

But what would three days of somebody not leaving their bed to? One that'd be a 72 hour fast, that would change a lot of people. Like their mind clear up, their spiritual connection. If you're laying in pure darkness, like back in the day darkness, and it says that you didn't move from your bed for three days, that's what it says when it's talking about this plague, you would be talking about some meditation, like prayer, like, you know, like whatever you call it. It's terrifying. I know you would be stuck in there. But think about the thoughts you would be having for three days, you'd be like starving, fasting, like crazy, right before the Exodus. I'm like, man, he comes and brings all these people here for a worldwide famine. And he causes a three day fast right before all the first morns are killed. So like they have this massive spiritual connection, this massive increase from a 72 hour fast, literally right before this happens. And then kind of to provoke a different spiritual thing. And then you had millions of people leave Egypt with, it says the same thing as revelation.

It makes multitude of every nation in tongue. So it's like, wow, like talk about how the father made sure everybody's like, oh, it's bloodlines. Now really the whole world had a famine and everybody went to Egypt, basically, like, or at least it says in the Egypt, but it said, like, I mean, it talks about like that. It's it said surrounding nations. So we don't know how many people went to Egypt. It's it seemed like that at least it's innovating based on the story we know, all the people from Canaan were definitely going down to get stuff from Egypt, which would likely would have been people from Libya, from Kush, all those people would have been going to Egypt. And the continent hadn't really split up. Like if that happened later, that'd be an interesting thing. You could have had more people just directly able to get it. But anyways, he brings them there with a worldwide famine. He puts them into a three day fast, right before he does a huge Passover thing and kills all the firstborns of everything. And then, you know, how many people had to change their heart and because of what they saw. It's just amazing to see. And I thought about like, you know, massage the light. There was a connection I felt when I was writing it down.

But it's just, you know, interesting when you see it like it's I was thinking like let there be light. Like could it really have been the, you know, the bringing of Messiah to whatever father did because it's another thing. Like it doesn't say the stars are created. Maybe they were, but it could just literally mean that the stars are the reflection or whatever it is of the children or the messengers, the angels, you know, and I thought like, man, the darkness wasn't created. It was just separated from the light because it was like, you know, Messiah says, what is he say with that? That's what it was. He goes, you are not of the day or you're not of the night. So that that should come upon you as a thief. You are of the day. He's telling you like in it's like he called the light day and he called the night, you know, like the darkness night. So it's like, I wonder if it's that a literal reference of like Messiah's the light that was manifest then. And then you had the, he was separated from the darkness because of his purity and everything like that. And then carries on and a lot of the references, even from his own mouth, the light in the darkness is like kind of the righteous or the unrighteous so to speak.

But anyways, we'll take it in there from the nose. No, that's interesting. I never really considered the three day fast with, yeah, with there being three days of darkness. But to go back to Genesis, it's interesting. You say like the darkness wasn't said to be created, but it also wasn't said to be created was was the water, right? The water and the earth that was inside the water and the darkness. Right. So the only thing the way that the creation story is telling is like the first thing that seems to be created or maybe not necessarily even created is just saying it to be is let there be light. Yeah, let there be light. It doesn't, you know, because it obviously does not lead, it does not lead to believe that everything was dark forever before that. It would make sense if God was there because it's not like he seemed like he needed to create. He just said let there be it. And so that's what he says to like in the end, you know, that you won't need that light anymore. I think what we're talking about, I literally just watched the first rings of power where it talks about what you said where you can go that she gets her honorary thing to go on

the ship and go to through the mist into the light that is eternal. And you leave that light as soon as you leave that and it becomes darkness. Boom, you go through the mist and it comes into the eternal light, right? Which is right. Like I said, that kind of makes sense if the idea is like if that's where the the God that you're going to end up going that like, just say again, the earth as we know it kind of does still kind of do its thing. And then you go past this place, right? And then, but it's a place that people from here couldn't go because it's like, it's dark and it's cold. But then there's a light source there. And you need like a glorified body to live there. It's like this book I'm trying to find brother Noel Hadley. He does the unexpected cosmology, I think he's a big like, well, he kind of gets into like what we get into, but I don't think he's like a little seasoned guy. But oh, yeah, the famous Irish myth of Oisin and his journey to Tiranon, no, the land

of eternal youth, the saddest, I don't know if that is this is the story he talks about where this guy like goes to this mythical land where like there's these beings that are like on the outside and it's like this eternal land, eternal people. And he gets welcomed in and it's like when you get invited, then you go to like the city, like the main part and stuff. And I'm like, man, that sounds kind of interesting, like almost like the mist where they go to this place and then, you know, if they're welcomed in, they get to go to like New Jerusalem type thing. But there's like, I don't know more and more you look at stories like we should read the Oads of Solomon one time because in his book, he goes through a lot of those and it almost does seem like Messiah and the saints writing these things during the millennial kingdom, like the way they speak and everything. It's pretty fascinating. For sure. Okay. You know, I got a transition I want to show a video. But before we do that, Josh, please tell us about modern Roots life. Hey, guys, so modern Roots life, as you know, it's a faith-based company. We give all glory to the father and his son and we try and do everything as close to

his creation as we came. No fillers, no synthetics, everything lab tested. If something gets bad, we change it, you know, like in the world, we found out that certain lines of the bovine gelatin are being tainted and they're not all bovine. So we found that out. We immediately switch. We kind of do that quality assurance for you guys. School is going back in. Everybody knows what that means. There's a lot of stuff that's going to start shifting. A lot of people start dealing with other things that they don't when it's warmer, when they're more separated and not the way that they want us to be. But you know, when there's more separation and you're in your own family life and different things like that in the warmth and you're out and a lot of those things with the sun, it helps to offset a lot of the things that people would deal with as far sickness and so on and so forth. But we know that school and the groups and fresh other things that we don't agree with are in play now. And I strongly urge everybody to make this time of the year September or October, one of the months where you get into the herbal parasite flush. So you can work on all the things that are going to help with back to school, you know,

different kind of like group environments that, you know, we all know that typically it can bring things home to the household. So look into the herbal flush. The new protocol app is basically being launched right now. I'm waiting for the confirmation. You guys are going to have that available. It's a lot more straight through on everything. But it has a very streamlined approach to the little season detox guide income combination with the herbal flush. And if you time it right now around September, October, you're going to have it then in January or February, after your three months break, and that's going to really help you to get through the winter. And remember, we have kids flush for two to 12 and then everybody after 12 does the adult flush. So thank you, brother. Thanks, guys. Awesome. Awesome. Okay. So the video I want to play, I think this is going to be interesting. It's about a very often out of context Bible verse. And I thought after we watch this, we could talk about some of the ones that we noticed about verses that are used out of context a lot. But here's, here's, you'll get the idea. Check this out. You know one of the most abused Bible verses in Christianity today is only 10 words long.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. We quote it before the interview, before the game, before the race. We quote it before the promotion, before the breakthrough as if, as if the apostle Paul was saying with Jesus, you can accomplish anything that you set your heart and mind to. But that's not what Paul meant. Because Paul didn't write these words from a place of victory. He wrote them straight from a prison cell. And from the very chains that bound him up, he wrote, I have learned to be content in whatever circumstance I am in. Learned. Because contentment doesn't come naturally. The flesh always wants more, more money, more recognition, more success, more followers. And the flesh will never say, okay, that's enough. It'll simply ask, okay, what's next? Then Paul goes on to write. I have learned how to have plenty. I've learned how to have little. I've learned how to be full. And I've learned how to be hungry. And only then does he declare, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Do you see it? Paul wasn't saying that Christ gave him strength to get everything he wanted. He was simply saying that Christ gave him strength when he didn't get what he wanted. That's the verse. Not achievement. Endurance. Not prosperity, faithfulness. Because the greatest threat to your soul isn't suffering. It's believing that something other than Christ can satisfy you. This way sometimes God allows the idols to crumble, a pause to fade. The money to disappear and the dreams to die. Because sometimes God removes what you've been leaning on to reveal what has been holding you all along. And here's the truth. If your joy depends on what you have, well, your joy is only one loss away from disappearing. But when Christ becomes your treasure, well, everything changes. This can't inflate you anymore. Failure can't define you and loss cannot destroy you.

Because when Christ is enough, the world loses its power over you. Okay, we need to just end right there. That's a wonderful. I needed to hear that really powerful message right through there. You have to send me that dang. That was a good preaching right there. But yeah, absolutely, absolutely. That's probably number one on my list. I think that I would have said that verse to if somebody said, what verse? Actually, you know what? I'm not positive about it. I said that one. That's definitely what I would have been thinking about. But that verse, the way it's used because I remember Tim Tibo, you remember when he was at Florida and he would put the eye black on and he would put the fill. I think sometimes he would change it up. I remember back in the day when I was looking to get more tattoos. I was like, yeah, I'm going to get that verse tattooed on me. Because it's in your vanity, it'd be like, okay, so I'm going to go do this sport and

I'm going to kick a bunch of butt. That's obviously what the verse is about. But it's not about scoring touchdowns. It's like literally God had given Paul a duty. Whatever God called Paul to do, he could do that in spite of all the things that were going wrong in his life. Even if things were going right, because he said when he had his belly was full, he could still go do the things he needed to do. It was like, regardless of the circumstances, like Paul was going to keep preaching and teaching and loving and doing all the things he was called to do. And spite even like going to jail and all the stuff that he had to go through. That's what it is. It's like suffering for the gospel is what that verse is really about. Suffering for Christ, suffering for our Lord, suffering for the people around you. That's what that verse is absolutely about. It's not about vanity. It's obviously the opposite of that. It's completely opposite of that. So I think, yeah, that's a great word. No, because it is a powerful verse.

It's like it's actually got way more power when it's not about, you know, fleshly things that you're trying to accomplish. I mean, of course, if you believe that you serve the God who created everything we can see and everything we can't see, there's nothing you couldn't do if you were in the one to do it. The real question is, where do you want that power to go? Is it for his kingdom? Is it for your own? I mean, the preaching was great too, but just a paradigm shift or the like dynamic shift or just the whole perspective shift of like what you're seeing in that verse is true because that's where you get into cherry picking verse versus the context, you know, type of read because all you have to do is go back. Same thing is like the head shaving thing with the women of what is that? The Corinthians and things like that, you know, where you get certain, just everything gets misconstrued because we don't know about the actual story that's going on. But man, to frame to be from a prison cell shows you the meat of that and where it is.

And for me personally, man, some of the other stuff he said was so true because it's almost like a different type of replacement, the original, almost like in a way where you get into, you know, idolizing certain things in your life, even your schedule or whatever. It doesn't matter. Like the biggest thing, like people don't tell you is how stressed out you become with any success in your life. It doesn't matter. Like if you go into like any kind of worldly thing and it doesn't have to be like a bad worldly thing, I don't mean that word the way that we learned it. Well, you can put idol tree on good things that God has blessed you with, like even like your children. A lot of people make idols of their own children. Yeah, that's true too. The social media has really blown that up. But I mean, it's for me, it's just when you, when you have that replacement or ideology, I meant not theology, replacement ideology in there where even with the things like you said, he's blessed you with, but you slide those in and they become the norm over him.

And even for me to say that I give all glory to him and stuff, we have to be careful to make sure like, are you really doing it? Because you see to say that next to you to actually do it. Yeah, and your actions, it's my wife's words all the time, you know, it's like don't forget that actions have to back up. The words otherwise, it's just like I tell people information or knowledge is just useless information without application. So if you have a bunch of information, if you can't apply it, it's just a bunch of information. There's no use for it. It's just there, but with application, you know, it's like our words have to be applied in our life and therefore they become action. And we can say that we do all things for him. But if the representation is a big check that I have right now because he's given me great success and the things that I wanted, I know like, you know, guy worth like millions of dollars or anything like that. That's not kind of the want that I wanted. But he's allowed me to serve his children to do things to help them when they can't afford it to a lot of those kind of things there. But at the same time, he wants me to prioritize my family first and that's the biggest thing

that I like have to focus on now. It's like he wouldn't give me this much here if it was going to mean compromising like the foundation of him being first in my heart, my family being second in my heart, you know, first obviously in the flesh. But that's the second thing to him. The only thing that's above them is him and his son. And so it doesn't matter what it is. If you go into it, it shouldn't be going out for the touchdowns. It should be knowing the message that it is because your celebration and everything was already happening before you even stepped onto that field and people know it. Your representation screams Messiah, screams father. Like and therefore like, you know, you've done the things that have strengthened you. And the hardest one is to reach that point too to not do the touchdowns, not do the big achievement, not do those things saying that thing. Rather than, you know, preaching the message that when you struggled, when you failed, when you were faced down, when you were begging, when you were crying out, that's when that verse speaks out. And then through that strength, you were able to go out with him as your focus and the

chiefs of the things that he wants you to do. You know what quality feels like? Yeah, that's the best passage I think for him for sure. Yeah, for down the Baptist, it's like less of me and more of him. That's about, it's about, again son, the story's not about us, it's about him. Yeah, prayers, right? Our prayers become his word in certain things, if it says will, our prayers become his words, but it says we're going to return to him void because of what we've done with it, and I've tarnished a lot of what he's given me over the years, and that's, I think the hardest thing I had to learn was not the financial game, not this, not that.

It's keeping the right things in check and staying positive through all the hardships, but not letting moments of stress dictate basically your day to day, dictate what you're going to do because it does, it brings you away, days like that can come in, and it's like hard for me to like, I have to dig into the word, and I mean, I have to dig into myself to even dig into the word because that day just doesn't represent a day that makes me want to do anything, you know, it just, it drops you down to nothing, and those are the times when that passage is going to be, and I mean, that's the coolest part, like when you get those paradigm shifts or something hits you, bam, now every time I hear that versus this is what I'm going to think of right now. I'm not going to think of any other thing that I thought of. And literally think of that's probably one of the most heard versus I should say. Right. Well, that's the, I guess that's the point is that the versus that are used out of context or course the ones that are quoted the most, this would have been my number one. Do you want to guess what it is? No, I want to hear it though. Okay. It's from the book of Jeremiah. Oh, 31, 31.

No, Jeremiah 29 11. Oh, for I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord plans for welfare and not to evil to give you a future and a hope. And so like people use that verse. It's like whatever they want to go do just the same way as like what you would say from what that guy was talking about, scoring touchdowns, getting the promotion, doing whatever you want you got to do. It's like so whatever plans that you've got, you think that that's God's plans for you. But the real important context of this verse is the verse right before it for us says the Lord when 70 years are completed for Babylon. I will visit you and I will fulfill to you my promise and bring you back into the place. For I know of the plans I have for you declares the Lord plans for welfare and not for evil to give you a future and a hope. So the future he's talking about is after 70 years in Babylon.

Yeah, literal. You know, it's like, so like he's comforting them in tribulation. Like in like you're going into the lion's den, but I'm going to be with you. Be faithful to me. Yeah. Isn't that such a different context of somebody saying, I want to go do this. Well, guess what? Jeremiah 29 11. God's got plans to prosper you. He's got plans for not for evil and for harm for your own welfare. It's like, that's not what the verse is about. The verse is like, you want to give somebody like that verse when it's like they're going through a rough time. Listen, God said it was going to be tough. Somebody's time. But he's with you. And this is not the ultimate plan for you. This is like, he's got more plans for you for the future. We also don't say we don't know it's going to be like all sunshine and rainbows. It's like it's not like that's not what the verse is about. Even the most righteous human to ever walk the earth, Messiah, you know, in his human form was didn't get the answer, you know, that he asked for.

And then he had to say, not by my flesh, but by your will because he said, if this cup could pass in any way, and he's the most righteous ever lived. And he did, he did not receive in that. You know, obviously his heart was not to have that. We know that because his mission was his vision, his father's vision. But he asked for that and the father didn't give it to him. And he had to say the true words of always not by my flesh, but by your will because so often I've had to find out. And dude, the worst is when you ask for something and then our daddy in heaven is like, okay, there you go. Yeah, you sure you want that. And we get those lessons. I mean, I don't, I guess there is that in scripture if we dug for it for sure. But it's like so often I've been given something I asked for and it was not what I wanted. He proved to me that you weren't ready for it. It wasn't the right timing, like whatever it is. But sometimes he gives us that, you know, that lesson that a parent would give to teach you that you, you got to be careful what you asked for. Just the other day I prayed hard. I was like these, these lands are dry, father, please bring us some rain here.

We really need it. I was like, bring it on. I never pray like that. I always pray in like gentle rain, like bring it, you know, like, please, like, you know, and this time I almost set it in my mind, like he'll protect it and through it. It's no big deal. And boy, everything was protected. But man, it was like a cat won hurricane came to our house here. My biggest tree that I couldn't, all my family would have to do this to reach around it is so big. It like, I thought it was going to rip it out of the ground onto my brand new fence out there. And so I've learned my lessons even when you pray. Always make sure that you're not like, oh, yeah, father, like do this because you might just, you might just give you a little bit more. Be careful what you asked for. Yeah, a little taste of something, you know, so. Do you have any verses? Because I got a few more if you want to go for some more out of context versus keep going. The one main one I have is the light with the. Okay. So the one, the one that I've gotten next, this is another one that's quoted a lot. Again, like you're seeing, you're going to see a pattern of like, these are the often most quoted verses you'll ever hear. So this one is Matthew seven, verse one, judge not that you be not judged.

So what context is it typically used, Josh? I mean, just the literal like people saying like, hey, don't chain that person because, you know, you might be judged. Well, you might be using in the right context, but what it's often used by the world is, like if we say that lifestyle that they're living is sinful and they would say, regardless of what you're sexually orientation or whatever, like if we say, here's what scripture says, what they're doing is, they're living in sin. And then somebody say, who are you to judge? It's like, I'm not judging. I'm not like, I'm not condemning them. I'm just pointing out a fact saying that somebody's got sin in their life. Now, obviously the full context of the, the verses after that is the idea that like, how can you judge when you've got like a plank in your eye? You're talking about the spec in your brothers eye. So he's saying, don't be a hypocrite either. So like, I think that, you know, like the story of like the, the woman caught in a adultery, right? Is that they're going to condemn her. Like literally, they're going to condemn her for sin.

Like they're going to straight up kill her and judge her for it. And then what story goes, Jesus writes something on the ground. We have no idea what he wrote, but he probably wrote something personal about those guys. And those guys walked away one by one. What they say was it from the, was it from like the oldest to the youngest walked away? Like the old guys were like, he knows what we've done. And so then he's saying like, where are the people to condemn you? And he was like, they have all left. And he's like, well, I don't condemn you either. And then he tells her to go and sin no more. So he wasn't saying what she did was, he's not whitewashing the sin that she did. He's actually telling her not to do it again. But he's not, he was not there to condemn her for it. He was there to save her from her sin. Yeah, it's, that's a big one. Because I mean, even you talking about it right there, I'm like, do I really have a full understanding of this? Because some of the stuff that's in there is, some of it's just boldly cryptic. It's, it's really, I think there's a cultural gap or something, you know, a historical gap or something we might not understand.

Some passages I still to the stand like, what I'd have to think of some. But even that one there, when you look at it, you're like, what did he write? What did he mean? You know, do I fully understand it? There's a bunch of passages like that that I struggle with because I mean, and, and, and this far into my walk, not like I'm some 40, 50, 60 years of veteran or something like my parents, but you don't think that you would get certain passages like that that you would have, especially social media has been around for a long time. It's pretty amazing to think that you just pulled that video out right now and that I've literally never seen that with all of it. And then the, the woman for being stoned and just different things. I don't know. Because the Pharisee thing always has that, that's a big one for it because so often you learn later, like what the actual meet was on the Pharisees or the Sadducees and how they, how they like did things, you know, like stuff we've talked about where Messiah goes before the courts or when different things are happening in acts, you always, I don't know.

I seem to still say this day, find out multiple things about each situation that make a lot more sense or it clicks when you realize even like the Zadok finding out Sadduk C. The Zadok priesthood and then looking at macabees and different things like that that blows up in the whole can of worms and kind of opens like a Pandora's box with all the negative stuff that you find out about that. But yeah, that one with Messiah right in the, in the sand or the soil, whatever says the clay is all one. Yeah, I think that, well, you know, you go into like John 317, so not 316, the famous verse, but it says that for God did not send his son to condemn the world. But through him save the world, but then the next verse says, because he was not believed is already condemned. So everybody's under condemnation before they find Christ. So that's like that's the real story. So it fits perfectly in the story of the woman caught in adultery. Those men were all going to be condemned because they have not believed just like she has.

And so now that she's, he's shown her grace, then if she believes on him, then she'll be saved. Yeah, so like that's the real story. So yeah, obviously the idea of like judging and versus not judging people is like as a Christian, I don't want to judge anyone's heart. Yeah, but I can straight up point out is like if you're what you're doing is wrong. But also, yeah, the context is like this Pharisee spirit where they would say, oh look, a tax collector over here, look at prostitute over here, look at this person over here that's so sinful. Those people are bad and look at me and my tassels and all the splendor that I'm walking around here peacocking around like the temple. Meanwhile, like Christ knows his heart that's wicked. He knows what he's actually doing when people are not looking and he knows he's evil. So I think that's exactly what it's saying. It's like that we don't want to judge our brothers is as far as like, oh, well, they can't be saved. Look at all the stuff they've done. Because that's how that's the judgment you're going to be served with if you judge like that.

Yeah, I mean, Messiah gives you other little tidbits too when he says you take the plank out of your eye before you judge the splinter and your brothers, but he also, there's also the times where you would be condemned if you didn't speak up. Like if you didn't acknowledge something you didn't call it out like that was the Hebrew culture too is to you know, Matthew 19 speaks or Matthew 18 speaks a lot on that too on how to do that. I think a lot of people messed that up, especially nowadays where people are like going, oh, I'm supposed to do this and it's like, oh, do you realize your own Messiah tells you you go by one, then you go by two and it proceeds to where you bring it before the entire camp of Yasha Reller is real. Yeah, the process there's a process you don't just go and slaughter your boy on social media or bring it in front of the in front of the whole church and be like, look at this, you know, this donkey over here, he's sitting here acting like this and acting like an idiot to everybody and stuff and then you're over here realizing like somebody shows you like, hey, you know, your own Messiah tells you, this is how you judge somebody if you're going to do it, you have to do it and it righteous like I mean, are you kicking tables over and stuff and doing things like that. No, he did, but how did he do it because he's not going to make it difficult.

But he is the judge, but he is the judge though. So that's a difference between us and him. But I'm saying it's obvious that he knows what he's doing and if we did, then that would be a righteous move by us too, you know, but we don't have the righteous foundation that he does on that because we honestly, I mean, there's certain ones that you get in there, Elijah, there's a bunch of judges, same meals, pretty gangster, you got a whole bunch of the guys that go in and they just basically rep shop with their words. Jeremiah was really back. Even with swords. Yeah, with swords too. You got a lot of it, but in reality, Messiah's the one that gives you that righteous wrath. He shows you the best example of it and stuff. There is patriarchs that lead up to him like that. But then you see even Moses means there we're just talking about that. I'm like, this dude was the guy. Yeah, Moses was like the funny thing. Well, that's the funny thing about Moses. Like he was not condemning them. Remember, like all the, all the reasons that God wanted to, to smite all of them. Like Moses was the opposite. He wanted mercy for them.

That's another good example. I said, so you think about that. That's that's similar to Abraham, right? The Abraham wanted Sodom and more spared. Right? And then Moses wanted. This relates to be spared. You know, so I mean, that is that's true. So if you think about the story was that the the the the sons of Thunder James and John who wanted to call down fire from heaven. I'm one of those unrepetent cities. And he's like, you don't know what spirit you're of. So we need not be like that. So I think that's the kind of more like judgements talking about. But if you continue on in Matthew 7th, he says, remove the plank from your own eye. And then you can see clearly and then help remove the spectrum of brother's eyes. So he's actually not saying don't ever come to your brother with correction. He's just saying, don't be a hypocrite. Okay, I've got one real quick one. I thought this one is one that me and Brian use all the time, but I can't help it, especially on this podcast to talk about this verse. This is this is going to be in the gospel of Luke.

Chapter 17. And this is not just one verse, but this is like a couple verses. Did get taken out of context. Okay, let's go right over here. Luke 17, starting with verse 34, I tell you, in that night, there will be two in one bed, one will be taken the other left. There will be two women grinding together, one will be taken and one will be left. It's actually two verses because then the following verse is and they said to him, where Lord, he said to them, where the corpse is, there the vultures will gather. That means literally like those are the left behind verses like those that's what they're using to say don't be left behind. But the actual context of those verses are the one who's taken is taken to be eaten by birds. Yeah, the tears are burned up before they're taken to and everybody misuses that to the wheat and the tears, they say that's the harvest and it's in a way it's the harvest, but that's literally talking about judgment at that point, you know, it's the wheat are are gathered into the barn.

You know, and the tears are burned up. So that's like, obviously, the journey that that's the like the judgment there. And then before that, you have the actual revelation 14, which has the barley, the wheat and the grapes, like all three of them, like you're supposed to have there. So I think I think those there, you get into it. It's obvious that, you know, the process of revelation would dictate kind of like what you just said there like the wea will see. Yeah, you're right. Let's let's go over there real quick, because it is interesting. So Yeah, the parable of the wheat in the tears, the wheat and the weeds. It does say that the tears or the weeds are burned first. Yeah, they're taken in the thrown into the furnace. And so what it says in Revelation 14, when you get into the idea of like there's the reapers that are going to come out for the great harvest. So which obviously in the parable of the wheat and the tears is that the angels are the reapers. And of course, this is this is probably where you get the idea of the grim reaper from it's got to be. Yeah, yeah, it's got to be.

Okay, so this is verse 14 of Revelation 14, then I looked and behold, the white cloud seated on the cloud, one like a son of man with a golden crown on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand. And the other angel came out from the temple calling with a loud voice to him who sat on the cloud put in your sickle and reap for the hour to reap has come for the harvest of the earth is fully right. So he who is sat on the cloud swung his sickle across the earth and earth was reaped. Then the other angel came out of the temple of heaven. He too had a sharp sickle and the other angel came out from the altar. The angel who had authority over the fire. He called with a loud voice to the one who had the sharp sickle. Put in your sickle and gather the clusters for the vine of the earth for the grapes are right. The angel swung his sickle across the earth and gathered the great harvest of the earth and threw them into the great wine. Press of the wrath of God and the wine press was trodden outside the city and the blood flowed from the wine press as high as a horse's bridal for 1600 stadia.

So I mean that fits exactly what Jesus is saying. So where are they taken to? They're taken to the great wine press. And then so what happens? So like so this is like Revelation 19 stuff who said so this is when the birds of the air they're going to feed on all the kings and all the great ones on the earth. Yeah, and Isaiah too, you know, when he comes out and he's all you know covered in the the blood of the wine press. Same thing. I think that that kind of right there is one question I always have for the pre-trib doctrine is how's that make any sense? Like how's Isaiah 66? First of all Isaiah 66 talks about before the birth pains, you know, even before she trivailed she you know gave she had the birth pains, she had Messiah and then it says as soon as she trivailed she brought forth her children. So to me it's like from that that right there to everything else it seems that Messiah would be or I mean the the reaping would happen first the burning up and then you would have the people taken to whatever it makes it makes no sense in the pre-trib doctrine.

It doesn't. I mean yes because that's if that verses use in the context I just laid out was incorrect which it often is. Again they made a whole movie series about it they called it left behind. Like so that's the story I remember I remember as clear as day when I was like in middle school and it was like one of those 70s versions of that. I think it was called thief in the night that's what it was called called back in the day and they used to have this so cringe. You've been left behind I want to say the DC talks did a did a cover on that song. You know two were going up a hill and one was left standing still or something like that I wish we all been ready. Have you heard that song? No but man that's messed up but no but that's but that's what the song is about the song is about that the one who got left behind. The one who was going to go face the Antichrist but the irony of it is but it sounds like is the one who's taken is going to face Jesus when he's about to tread the wine press.

Yeah. You know so if you think about it in that context what the thief in the night actually means it means that you're going to have to face him. You know man like you're going to you're going to toe to toe with the king of kings and he's not in a good mood. I was thinking it does the taking ever say anything different because it seems like the one you're the taking is always about it because they get from first first baroque is it when they get sealed. You know limitations like all the things it's like they're sealed and protected or whatever degree you know sealing seems to be this form of protection from Kane all the way up. But it's like they're not they're sealed to endure I don't think it's like sealed to be like oh he's got the symbol you know beam me up Scotty type of thing. I don't necessarily think that it means that he always he always there's always this embrace through the time and then there's this relief after where you have to in retrospect go like man he had me the whole time that seems like I mean in my life it's been like that it's always like you realize you were protected the whole time and you were the doubtful one.

That was over here thinking that it wasn't there but it's like sometimes it's a free pass like when I drove home like ripping in my old Honda Civic back when I was a young kid and my motor was like hanging out of the car literally the motor mount had broken. And me and my dad looked at it when I got home and it's like it was just floating there it's impossible you know so sometimes you get those free passes. But I mean I was robbed and he kept me protected through the whole time when I was a kid stuff like that and it's like I don't even know how it happened it had to have been him. So but it seems like all of the times in my life and what I see in scripture take it's constantly it's like they endure till the end that I mean that's what Messiah. That's the same. I'm not wearing the Jesus said there be hatred or shirt today but yeah that's the the one that says that you'll be hated for all nations for my snake for my name's say but the one who endure to the end will be saved. So obviously that's quite a different message if you're going to be taken out before you have to endure to the end because what's the end the ends the resurrection. And I think that that's one of the things about again I don't want to get totally into like the rapture doctrine totally whether it's true or not true but I would just say this.

It's sort of interesting that the main book that everybody points to about the end times. It does not have a rapture in it at any point. Am I wrong about that I mean like you. I mean I guess maybe you could say when he sweeps that whole sickle across that the harvest the whole earth or something. But as far as I can tell the only thing that even resembles a rapture is after the two witnesses die in the street. And then they're called up. But again they die but they died. That's what I'm saying they died. I don't I don't the base that really a rapture to me that's a resurrection. I mean I guess you could say it's a rapture of the dead kind of like what Paul says is that the dead are going to proceed those who a lot are live and remain but. I don't know like I said I know we've taught we just did a defense of Paul with my buddy post postmodern. But I often wonder is this one of the verses like that people confuse like what Paul's actually saying. If people if live people are going to get.

Separated from their bodies and go to heaven. I don't know I don't know that's for another conversation but we should get to the gospel of Nicodemus if we're going to do this today. Now a certain priest named Phineas and Addis a teacher in Aguius a Levi came down from Galilee onto Jerusalem and told the rulers the synagogue in the past. The priest in the Levite saying we saw Jesus in his disciples sitting upon the mountain which is called.

Mamilik and he said unto his disciples going to all the world and preach unto every creature he that believe it is baptized shall be saved but he that disbelieved shall be condemned. And these signs shall follow upon them that believe in the name they shall cast out devils and they shall speak with new tongues. And they shall take up serpents and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them they shall lay hands upon the sick and they shall recover. And while Jesus yet speak unto his disciples we saw him taking up into heaven and the elders in the priest in the Levite say give glory to God of Israel and making confession unto him. Did ye indeed or that ye did hear and see those things which ye have told us they that told them say. As the Lord God of our fathers Abraham Isaac and Jacob live it we did hear these things and we saw him taking up into heaven and the elders in priest in the Levites say to them came ye for this end.

They ye might tell us or came ye to pay your vows unto God and they say to pay our vows unto God and the elders in the chief priest in the Levites say to them. If ye came to pay your vows unto God to what purpose is this idle tale which ye that have babbled before all the people. Finneas in the priest Addis in the teacher Agius the Levites say unto the rulers of the synagogue and the priests of the Levites. If these words which ye have spoken and seen to be sin low we are before you do unto us as seemeth good in your eyes. They took the book of the law and adjured them and they should no more tell any man these words and they gave them to eat and to drink and put them out of the city. Moreover they gave the money and the three men to go with them and they set them on their way as far as Galilee and they departed in peace. Now when these men were departed in Galilee the chief priests and rulers of the synagogues and the elders gathered together in the synagogue and shut the gate and lamented with great lamentation saying,

what is the sign which is come to pass in Israel. But Amlas and Caiphus said, wherefore are ye troubled? Why weep ye. No ye not that his disciples gave much gold unto them that kept the sepliker and taught them to say that angel came down and rolled away the stone from the door of the sepliker. And the priest and the elders said, be it so that his disciples did steal away his body but how is his soul entered into his body and how abided he and Galilee. But they could not answer these things and hardly in the end said, it is not lawful for us to believe the uncircumcised. All ye we believe the soldiers that the angel came down from heaven and rolled away the stone from the door of the sepliker. But in truth is his disciples gave sepliker. No ye not that is not lawful for Jews to believe any word of the uncircumcised knowing that they who receive it much good from us have spoken according to as we taught them.

That's all the one about the behind the scenes trying to hide it and pay off some brides. Of course that's interesting. Obviously it's telling you the story of the great commission and it's just like we were talking about last week is that these guys are so wicked. It's like it doesn't really matter what they're told is that the Roman soldiers would have no reason to lie about this. Because if you really think about the Roman soldiers were risking their lives by even admitting anything like they should have ran away because they could have been killed for somebody stealing the body out from under them. It's almost interesting the way that they would get paid to do it even though they could still risk death by falling asleep at their post. And then you have these guys who did believe Jesus watched them ascend and they don't believe them. And then not only that but then they said that the disciples were paid to say these things and say that an angel came. It's like on both sides they're paying off this side saying that this side was paid off creating the conflict and chaos and both sides like to destroy the entire thing of it.

After two, the veil was torn in earthquake. I mean, geez, every single sign you could possibly have but you could see at the end there it says. But how do you explain him walking around back in his body? That's the hard part to explain. What is funny is like this is totally a situation where they always accuse you of what they're actually doing. Every accusation is an admission. Oh, the disciples paid these guys to say that. You guys literally just paid the soldiers to say that they stole his body. So these guards got paid twice then I guess based on what they're saying, right? Like the disciples paid them first to tell that story and then they got paid again to tell the real story. They doubled down. Yeah, they got a double dip in that thing. But yeah, it is like that it does seem comical if it wasn't so sad that these people are so wicked that they it does not matter.

They're not going to believe. I mean, I guess it again, I always bring it back to Pharaoh. Their hearts are so hard. It does it does not matter what they see. That doesn't matter that like judgment is like bearing down on them like the judges at the door. Like, you know, like these people have, do they really actually have fear of God like understanding like that what they're actually doing is they are the ones condemning themselves right here. All right, even like the other powerful side that I always contemplate, did they really get persuaded? Is that spirit? It's got to be that powerful, you know, to where many of these people you see it. They genuinely believe in their heart that it's true. Like, whether it's been programmed that way over generations and now that's how it is or they've just manifested to where they actually believe in their heart that they're doing the right thing. Or, you know, like we were talking about I think last week where they they just from their culture and from their belief system.

They have been raised that that's their deities and this is the ones that they serve and secretly behind the scenes they're not obviously serving the same the same most high or God, you know, like whatever that the others are serving. So, but in reality it's I mean, they say they are but they're not. So obviously could it be that they're generally persuaded to believe in this evil? And that's what it kind of seems like. It's yeah, it's hard to wrap your mind around it. I mean, we know that they have this kind of Talmudic tradition in there that doesn't. It's kind of like just below the surface in the scripture, you can kind of see it, but you can't quite see it. I mean, it makes sense that in like the way that what happened to the world and you see like the people who practice modern like rabbinic Judaism right now, it's like the veil is still over their eyes about stuff like this. So again, nothing new in the sun, nothing new under the sun. But it is interesting that they I quoted that verse from John 3

about how saying basically says that anybody believe it will be saved, but those who don't who are unbelief are already condemned. So, okay. One verse behind it and how much it changes the thing. Okay, let's continue on. And Nicodemus rose up and stood before the council saying, ye say well, no ye not owe people of the Lord. The men that came down out of Galilee, that they fear God in our men of substance, hating covetousness, men of peace. They have told you with an oath saying we saw Jesus upon Mount Mammic. Is it, is that how you say Mammic? Mammic? Yeah, I guess Mammilch. Mammilch? Mammilch? Yeah, Mammilch with his disciples that he taught them all these things and he heard them and they say we saw him taken up into heaven and no man asked them what man he was taken up.

For like as the book of the Holy Scriptures has taught us that Alisa, Alias, or Elijah, also was taken up into heaven. And Alisa cried out with Alisa. I'm just going to say Alisha. cried out with a loud voice and Elijah cast his hairy cloak upon Alisha and Alisha cast the cloak upon the Jordan and passed over and went into Jericho. And the sons of the prophets met him and they said to Alisha, where is thy Lord, Alijah? And he said that he was taken up into heaven and they said unto Alisha, hath not a spirit caught him up and cast him upon the mountains. But let us take our servants with us and seek after him and they persuaded Alisha, he went with them and they sought him for three days and found him not. And they knew that he had been taken up. Now, harken unto me. Let us send into all the coasts of Israel as in mountains and see whether the Christ

were not taken up by spirit and cast upon one of the mountains. And the saying pleased them all and they sent into all the coasts and mountains and sought Jesus and found him not. And they found Joseph, air, mithia, and no man dursed, lays hand upon him. And they told the elders in the priests in the Levites saying, we went throughout all the coasts of Israel and we found out Jesus. But Joseph, we found in air, mithia. And when they heard of Joseph, they rejoiced and gave glory to God of Israel. And the rulers of the synagogue and priests in Levites took counsel how they should meet with Joseph and they took a volume of paper and wrote unto Joseph these words. Peace be upon me. We know that we have sinned against God and against the and we pray unto God of Israel that thou shaltest, thou shalt save to come unto the fathers and unto the children. But thou dispray unto God of Israel and he delivered the out of our hands. Now therefore, vouchsafed, we are all troubled because when we open the door and we found you not,

we know that we devise an evil counsel against the but the Lord helped the and the Lord himself made none effect of our counsel against the our father Joseph, thou that art honorable among all people. And they chose out of all of Israel seven men who were friends of Joseph, whom Joseph also himself accounted his friends. And the rulers of the synagogues and the priests and the Levites set out unto them. See if he received our epistle and read it. Know that he will come with you unto us. But if we read it not, know that he is vexed with us and salute you him and peace and return unto us. And they blessed the men and let them go. And the men came on the Joseph and did him reverence and said unto him, peace be unto thee. And he said, peace unto you and unto the people of Israel. And they gave him of the book of the epistle and Joseph received it and read it and embraced it or kissed the epistle and blessed God and said, blesses the Lord God, which had the redeemed

Israel from shedding of innocent blood and blessed the Lord which sent his angel and sheltered me under his wings. And he set the table before them and they did eat and drink and lay there. And they rose up early and prayed and Joseph saddled his she asks and went with the men and they came into the holy city. I'm sorry guys, it's hard not to laugh about that. Even Jerusalem and all the people came to meet Joseph and cried, peace be to thine entering in and set unto all the people. Peace be unto you and all the people kissed him and the people prayed with Joseph and they were astonished at the sight of him. And Nicodemus received with him into his house and made a great feast called anus and chaeophus and the elders and priests and the Levites unto his house. And they made married eating and drinking with Joseph and when they had sung a hymn or blessed God, every man went unto his house but Joseph abode the house of Nicodemus. And on the mara, which was the preparation, the rulers of the synagogues and the priests and Levites

rose up early and came to the house of Nicodemus and Nicodemus met them and said, peace be unto you and they say peace be unto thee and unto Joseph and unto all thy house and all the house of Joseph. And he brought them into his house and the whole council was set and Joseph sat between anus and chaeophus and no man durs speak unto him a word. And Joseph said, why is it that ye have called me? And they beckoned unto Nicodemus and he should speak unto Joseph and Nicodemus opened his mouth and said unto Joseph, father, thou knowest that reverend doctors and the priests of the Levites seek to learn a matter of thee. And Joseph said, inquire ye and anus and chaeophus took the book of the law and adjured Joseph saying, give glory to the God of Israel and make a confession unto him for at-car when he was adjured of the prophet Jesus, Arjashua, forced where not himself but declared unto him all the things he hid not a word from him. Thou therefore also hide not from us so much as

a word. And Joseph, I will not hide one word from you. And they said unto him, we greatly vex because thou dis beg for the body of Jesus and rapist and a clean linen cloth and dislay him in a tomb. And for this cause, we put thee in safeguard in a house wherein was no window and we put the keys in the seals upon the doors and the guards had keep place wherein thou was shut up. And on the first day of the week, we opened it and found thee not and we were sore troubled and amazement fell upon the people of the Lord until yesterday. Now therefore declare unto us what be fell thee. And Joseph said on the preparation day and about the tenth hour, ye did shut me up, I continued there for the whole Sabbath and at midnight as I stood and prayed in the house wearing, ye shut me up and taken up by the four corners. And I saw as it were a flashing of light in my eyes and being filled with fear I fell to the earth. And one took me by the hand and removed me from the place where and I had

fallen. And the moisture of the water was shed on me from my head unto my feet. And on odor of ointment came upon my nostrils. And he wiped my face and kissed me and said unto me, fear not Joseph, open thine eyes and see it it is that speaketh with thee. And I looked up and saw Jesus and I trembled and suppose that it was a spirit. And I said the commandments and he said them with me. And as ye are not ignorant that a spirit, if it is meet any man and hear the commandments straight away and when I perceived that he said them with me, I said unto him, Rabbi Elijah and he said unto me, I am not Elijah and I said unto him, who art thou Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus, whose body thou dispegged of pilot and disclosed me in clean linen and covered my face with a napkin. Lay me in a new cave and roll a great stone upon the door of the cave and I said to him that

speak with me. Show me the place where I laid thee and he brought me and showed me the place where I laid him and the linen cloth laid therein and the napkin that was upon his face. And I knew that it was Jesus and he took me by their hand and set me in the midst of my house and the doors being shut and laid me upon my bed and said unto me, peace be unto you and he kissed me and said unto me, until forty days be ended, go not out of thine house for behold, I go unto my brethren and Galilee. You did it. My eyes are watering a little bit now. I get it. I know that is. That's a lot. That's a lot of, that's kind of cool too. I always just love how when you read it, just even words that are used are very similar to what you find in the canon, just like it was a preparation day, so on and so forth, like things like that. It's nice to hear that kind of like rings in your ears and rings familiar so it makes you feel right at home when you're reading certain. That's why

as some of these books when we talk about them, the aparclical writings, you feel like they were in there at some point because it almost seems like it was written in like a streamlined way as the rest of the books. I mean again, I still think this book, the story that's being told makes a lot of sense the way it's playing out. I'm saying like it, there's no contradictions with the scriptures we've read, but I mean that's super interesting is that these guys go tell the Pharisees, like what you'd expect to happen. Some people say, it's got Jesus you crucified. He's actually alive still. We saw him and then we saw him go up into heaven and they're like, oh no, no, that never happened. And then Nicodemus comes to reason with them saying, hey, don't you remember the story? Like you read the book of kings, you know, you read second kings. We know that Elijah went up into heaven and then Elijah went and told people and they said no way. They said he's probably just on top of the mountain somewhere. So they went for three days and looked for him and

they didn't find him. So then they all agreed he actually went to heaven. So then they do the same thing and they can't find Jesus on any mountains or coastlands, whatever it was saying. And so that story kind of continues to come back up. Even it's interesting that the Joseph Erymatheum himself has an encounter with the risen Lord. It's interesting that he goes there and he gets he breaks him out of I guess that little jail that the Pharisees brought him into. And who does he think he is right away? Everybody thinks everybody's Elijah and that's isn't that interesting? Yeah, it's interesting. Really is. Even with Messiah talking about it with John, you know, like saying that he had already come already. There's a lot of talk about him with Elijah returning and you know the kind of spirit of Elijah and just the talk of Elijah is pretty profound at all through the gospel type talk. Yeah, they keep asking if Elijah's return because I want to say that people ask John if he was Elijah. Of course, he says no. Then Jesus later says that he was and everybody's expecting Elijah to return. It's like it's the same thing when you

have in the rabbinical side where it's Messiah, been Joseph comes first and then Messiah, been David, you know, but they they always say that it's preceded by El Iahu. So it's interesting that even in their own rabbinical traditions, they still kind of fall suit with that. Yeah, it's super interesting. I'm debating we should read anymore. It's a good step. I always say would break these chapters and like some of these chapters are so short, but I think we're like we're getting right into like I said, I kind of just want to tease it for next week guys because like this next chapter is really long, but it's like one chapter and then we're getting into the descent into hell. Yeah, let's just make like next next recording. Let's just go into it and we'll start a little earlier on that. We'll how about we do that for you guys. We'll do more of a focused reading on the next one. Kind of like start a little bit, do our little intro and then kind of go right into it. Yeah, we promise. Maybe we'll have to tag team this next time. We'll have to let Josh read some of this because this is like

this is like reading like a book of you know like a chapter in Jeremiah. Can you imagine I have to read that from front of everybody? But if it was like it was not the old English version. I think I could do a little little better. It's just so hard to not read it all choppy like when you're kind of the suffer when we would read it at all the the yeah, the suffer we get that we got the he makes one that's like this big like Nethalum size and we were like read from that and I don't care how big those words are man. I literally sounded like my brain would shut off when I would read that in front of everybody, but yeah, I get I'm happy to read. I'm learned. I understand. Well, I'll let you I'll let you I'll let you get a few at bats in next week. But anyways guys, this was a lot of fun. This was a lot of it's a lot of Bible reading today. We're reading a lot of Bible. We're talking about Bible versus they're not using the right context. We're trying to use them in the proper context and we're trying to fit this book that we're told is not a legitimate canonical book, but we're trying to put it in the context where it actually makes sense where it makes sense of

this whole story, which is the gospel of Christ. So I think it's I think it's good. Like I said, I recommend everybody read this book. I mean, it does it probably is helpful if you guys read this a little bit, you know, apart from the podcast. And so you come in, we'll get what kind of dig into the details. But again, we're coming up on again, we're going to get to like the meaty stuff coming up probably next week, at least part of it. And then in the preceding weeks, we're probably going to need to have something next. Is it like second asuras? Do we want to do something like that? Do we want to do whatever? This is the hammer, man. And it has like, because I know Madeline's going through stuff and trying to tie it to little season. And that book has always kind of seemed a little jumbled to me because I don't know any of the prophetic books. I can until apocalyptic type stuff. You're like, man, is that in the right order? Because now that I've seen it with the Zekeel and Jeremiah and Daniel, you're just wondering, that's one thing we should do next week too. Maybe we could start out with that is read a KJV

Maseritic Daniel 6 versus Septuagint Daniel 6 because it maybe it's similar and it has just, because sometimes the Septuagint isn't written in a different way. It's just they reorder the words in the verse. So it's like it tells the same verse, but it tells it in a different order. So sometimes you get that, but Daniel 6, when I was reading it to the kids, they wanted Daniel and the lion's tin. It just seemed like there was so much more emotion, so much more like it elaborated on the story that you would get from the Maseritic and explain some of the things. Even with Daniel and he was there with Darius and Cyrus, some of the other things that it would tell there, and Darius and Nebuchadnezzar are most likely in New Jerusalem. That was one of the biggest things to me there, as Darius also, is he turned everything over the same way Nebuchadnezzar did. In the end, I didn't even notice that until reading it this time with, but Darius, Nebuchadnezzar, you look at these people who went through it and can you imagine,

where Daniel gets brought out, and then even the way that describes the bones breaking and everything with the families that were thrown in there was reading in Sarah's like there with the kids like, oh man, that's like dang, you know, like Ezra Sars, it's almost like a Marvel comic kind of movie here and stuff. Yeah, I would say that's probably on the top of my list, but I can be convinced otherwise. So maybe we'll have to put up a poll at some point and put a few books in there and we'll let people decide. Yeah, some of the books have a democracy, but it'll be more like a effect democracy like the one we live in. No, you should do the four words. We're going to control which books are the ones you guys get to vote on. Yeah, like Daniel's second address, Tuberuk and Ezekiel would be like four or wants to really pick out, you know, like and pull apart. Ezekiel would be that just because we don't have to do apocryphal books. It's kind of fun to do apocryphal books because I know a lot of people don't don't read them, but yeah, we could absolutely do regular books too. Daniel's a quick one, but I don't think that dialogue is not

going to be quick. You know, the read is not hard on Daniel, but the dialogue of us. Oh, yeah, that might take that'll be a month of study. So maybe second estrus or something. So somebody, you know, because I know a lot of you ask me personally about it, like, you know, just it's not one that most people have read, but it's honestly when you read it, it's literally the only other book about Revelation that talks about the 144,000 were massised in the midst of them and he it's putting crowns on them and he's taller than everybody else. I mean, oh yeah, it's interesting stuff in there. And it has 10. You got Baruch, Exodus and second estrus all have 10 events that happen in their tribulation, which is really interesting because I am legs. Yep. All right. Next time.
