We're also live at sports1440.ca, Heart Radio and Radio Player Canada, our headliner of the day, bagged milk today. And we'll have that deck donations. Declan CFL at 140 after the show, Appalens Spotify podcast. We tweeted out on X and Declan will write a bicycle
over to your house with an eight track copy of today's show. If you ask nicely, we're on Twitter at Low Tide at Declan Krueger, J.Fenwick 04, Texter Call 833-40114-1440. That's 833-40114-1440. You are the star of the show. Your text drive, what we discuss, and we appreciate you. My colleagues are Declan Krueger and Josh Fennwick. They are preparing now, Bizzle to answer questions that they have not heard before. Issue 1. We'll Pablo Torrey get a Christmas card from Steve Balmer Declan Krueger. Ooh, no, he will not, but he should be getting a Christmas card from everybody else because there was a lot of pointing and laughing and Pablo Torrey's expense for quite some time and he was right and he was vindicated. And that's what reporting does, ladies and terms. Issue 2. Roger Stady of a suffered significant damage. Will the J's be forced to play in Buffalo again and will Vladie hit many home runs because of it, Josh Fennwick? No, I don't think they're gonna have to worry about that. But if they do go to Buffalo, it's a minor league park.
I know, he'll hit the Mochow home run. And he did last time, right? When they had to play in the States during the pandemic. That was his biggest offensive or home run season, as I recall. Issue 3. Elk Stams, Monday, Labor Day Classic. Are you driving flying or on a bus to the game? Declan Krueger. Ooh, probably driving. I don't do well with flights and a bus. It's like, wow, would I take a bus? If I could just... I forgot about that. You're not a good flyer. Really bad flyer. You and Gratsky, you know? Also like how genuinely, how much are flights to Calgary these days? Oh, I don't think they're much. Okay. I think you might be around. I think they might be more expensive. Four and a half grand, something like that. Oh, okay, never mind that. I think we have a different definition of how much is a lot of money low-todd. But they used to be like a hundred bucks, a hundred and a half bucks. I know they're more than that now. I feel like it was even less than that. Like I feel like you could use to get them for like 70. Well, that's how much a bus taken to Calgary costs now. So, well, let's figure out what the gas driving to Calgary
is because that might be more than the flight. About $70 depending on your car. Man, it's the world's a funny thing it really is. The athletics, wanna make sure this right. The athletics list of top 150 players on the national hockey league includes just one Calgary flame player, Dustin Wolf. Is it time to give up on your 2029 dream? Josh Fenwick. Nope, definitely not because they're not accounting for players in the farm system. Well, because they're not NHL players yet. And for the third time today, Ethan Wittenbach will be mentioned on sports 1440. Ethan Wittenbach is coming as his cold-resheny, Carson Carroll's, Colin Potter. He's just some big offensive, offensive additions here. And then fans are, you could say, Zorb Duman and they go, yeah, sounds like someone. And then on top of it, seasons about to start, Matt Vagreddin, he's gonna be on that top 150 come the end of the year. Okay, well, we're dreaming in tech to color over there in my friend Josh's corner. Issue five, Kevin Biaxa and Elliott Friedman
are without contracts at SportsNet. Are you and Josh going to apply? Declan? Well, first of all, if you made a list of another 150 NHL players, I don't know how many flames would be on that. Like genuinely, I'm not even trying to, you might get one or two. Am I gonna, I am not because I think there are probably better candidates for one. I like it too much here too. And they wouldn't let me do Declan CWA three. Okay. But maybe Josh does. I think, no, I think you'd be so good as Elliott except it would be Miami heat rumors. And no one would like it except me. What are they gonna do? Like, they got assigned these cats. Do they have any backups? I don't think they have. It doesn't seem like from everything I've read and seen in Grant and I am not in the know in sports. But it doesn't seem like they have any contingency plan, especially for Elliott. Elliott was kind of the bread and butter. Well, I mean, he's wildly popular. They don't use him properly. We've talked about that. But that might be what he wants. That might be his price to stay.
I don't know. But you know, the, the, it's pretty late to be not nailing this stuff down, isn't it? I mean, yeah, the hockey season starts in today's September 3rd, right? 26 days officially. I think Samenko's the day. So it's 27 from today. Okay. Well, maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I saw as Samenko, Jersey today. Okay. No, like online. Fair enough. Either or it's not that far away. Is that close from yesterday though? It's entirely probably a little tight. It doesn't pay attention to the dates that things are, you know. All right. So there we go. We're, we're, Hash on stuff out. We're talking about things. We're getting right into it. College football tonight. Declan, what are you watching? Yeah, tonight one game that Brandon didn't mention in his update. There is a game that I'm intrigued about. That's the Illinois and UAB game. Obviously, USC is going to play tonight as well. The Utah game is fun. Oklahoma and Mizzou game.
The Mizzou game. I think they're 55 and a half point favorites. Now one I'll probably be watching Utah and Idaho, because Idaho is a weird FCS school. You can kind of always root for the games. Pick up a little bit more tomorrow. And then like I said, like that Illinois UAB game, I'm a little bullish on Luke. All Myers fighting a line. I saw I'll be checking out those three. I'm having a problem signing into our text line. No, I'm not. It's fine. Don't worry. This is what old people do. Somebody stole my wallet. No, here it's here. That's good. So you were going to have to come over here for a second, but I sat in with your password anyway, so it's no big deal. And you know why I sat in with your password, Declan? Because I forgot mine on the first day I worked here. I was going to say, I think you've had my log, our log in since like September 6th. Yeah, no, it's true. It's true. We're coming up on three years of sports. You know what? We fooled them for three years. And now Josh is really helping, because they don't know who to pick on. Something's not right on that show, but we don't know who it is. Because I'll be honest with you,
management can't sit through this show for more than five minutes. That's our key. Well, I mean, the two other shows I'm on sort of go by pretty smooth, so I still think the answer's what are you two? Yeah, but you don't talk as much. You're a big part of the show. Well, hey, you know what? Shout out to Tommy. He loves bringing me in. Because Tommy loves input. Tommy is a guy who guy, he's a conciliary. He's Italian, right? And so he's gathering. He's bringing together. And then, you know, one day, it's just business. But, you know, right now, he likes you. Correct. Yeah. Apparently, Flight Hub offers one for $59. From Bench. So I guess it is still cheap, Bench. Got to know what you're up. You're down. You don't even get a meal, so it can't be that much. You know, that flight is so quick. What is it like half an hour? I think it's like 20 minutes. It's not far. Like, you know, you basically have to,
the pilot has to take off and then you're a glider and then you go down. It's basically what it is. You look at you, you get to your cruising altitude, you look at your window and it, all right, everybody, we're starting to send. That's how it rolls. Oddball said to the ghost of John McLaughlin, possessed low tide's body. I've been waiting for somebody to mention it. It's a direct steal from John McLaughlin, PBS. He was so good. He go, it's a wand. Ready to be the bomb. And then Freddy the Beetle Bomb would say something. Eleanor. And it was, I sat at a nightlife, used to do a skid on it. It was really, really funny stuff. It's peanut's handed out, then wheels on the ground, says Bench. I think that's about it. Are we still in agreement that Bouchard has much better contract than McCart from Bad Captain? Well, look,
it's difficult to compare these because Bouchard's big contract is coming. He's got a big contract now, but his bigger contract is coming. And when that occurs, we can compare. I think Kale McCart is universally regarded as the better defenseman. I don't think I'd get much pushback saying that, although I really put a high value on Bouchard, and I think most people do. But the contracts aren't level because how many years of free agency that they buy from McCart a lot, I'm assuming. So there you go. By the way, I mentioned that there was one, Calgary flame on that list of the athletics top 150 players. There are four Edmonton owners, four is larger than one as a number. And the four are Conor McDavid is still number one. Some out there have McDavid not number one, which is just silliness. He's one A on it. There's three one A guys.
Nobody's at the top. Conor McDavid, Nikita Kutrov, Nathan McKinnon, that's alphabetical. I'm just saying. Look, Kutrov is a K. Where does K come in the alphabet? We're going by first names here. And actually that still collapses on itself, Josh, because Nathan comes before Nikita. Well, well, I tried, you know, this is why this is the candidate for the show for five minutes. Yeah, you're right. I was just trying. By the way, I do think they are closer to being one A, one B, one C than just a one two three. I am with you on that. No, no, like literally in the athletics article, they are the three members of the one A. Okay, I know, yeah, yeah, just making sure that we're all. Now I can't be mad at you because you read the athletic articles. So good on you, sir. I did, I did. Yeah. Jensen, Denik, not here today, but he wrote a great article read it if you get a chance about, you know, who's going to rise on the orders roster. I'm looking to get him in on Monday.
We'll see how that goes because he's a very busy guy. Young fellow out there, you know, making the scene like you were a few years ago before you met your lady. Remember that? I'm so lowly, low tide. Now you're not. I don't think I ever said that, but. Okay. Oh my God, I am so mean to you and I love it. I really, and I really like you. So can you imagine if I didn't, how that would be? Anyway, McDavid Drysidal are Tier one guys. Bouchard is a Tier two, Tier four star is Zach Hyman. So the orders have three franchise guys and two of the best centers in the league. I don't know why I'm hearing that people are once again, who are right soldiers media talking about McDavid and Drysidal are going to play together again. Let me tell you, let me tell you now, I'm going to tell you how it is. This is a reflection of Mike Babcock not knowing the roster. Ryan Newgen Hopkins, who I love, had a 37% goal share at five on five away from McDavid and Drysidal.
So that many was playing center on the second line, 37% and you can say, well, Paul Coulson and Hyman could help and then Leon and McDavid will have, you know, somebody else like Savoy. Look, I love Newgen. He's not a center anymore. And Mike Babcock is going to discover that just like Mike Babcock is going to discover Josh Brown isn't better than Ty Emerson. And you're just going to have to watch it happen, Edmonton on his fan, because you've watched the orders more than Mike Babcock has. And I think Mike Babcock will figure it out in a quick hurry. You know why he hates losing. He hates losing and he's going to look at it. He's going to see them, you know, the rushes, the daily rushes that come in and they go, okay, the, uh, Corsi was 37% and the goal share was 37%. That line's got to go. And, and understand it doesn't make me feel good talking about Newgen that way. He's a legendary owner. He's my favorite from the era, the hall, the Eberleigh, the Newgen.
He was always my favorite. I lived in fear of them trading him and, and he's still here and I love him. And he's a great left-winger now, but he's not a center. And if Mike Babcock is playing dry sidel, my David together, he's worried about enough time playing Jason Dickinson and Ryan Newgen Hopkins and let me tell you, that's going to last like a snowflake in a hot place when they go lose two of three on a road trip. Not going to happen. This is a reality. And if it continues to happen, there'll be a new coach by Christmas. Unless somebody found the fountain of youth and got Newge to jump in the lake, then you got trouble right here in River City. Who were Newge's most common linemates when he was a center last year? I can tell you in the next segment, how's that? By the way, if you ever want to know that, I'm going to give you, this is a little cheat code. Okay. Do you guys want to learn how to cheat when you're talking on the radio?
Sure. Go to Frozen Tools, Dober Line Combinations. And it gives you like opportunities. You can go all periods, all situations. So you go even strength. And then you want an individual forward who is Newgen Hopkins and you just have to type in, you know, NU, and it'll show up. Then you click it. And this is all at even strength. And so you go generate report. And it should show up in the next, well, here it is. Okay. Oh, I got 2728 or 2627 at the wrong year. Okay. One more time. And then if this doesn't work, then we're going to go. That's embarrassing. Really is, isn't it? You know, you'd think, if I were a younger man, I'd blush, but I just don't care. Okay. It's here are the most common lines for the Newge. Obviously, they make David stuff comes at the top. Ryan Newgen Hopkins with Zach Hyman and Jack Roslovic. There were four goals for and one against, which is terrific plus three.
And they had a good shot percentage 54%. That's in 58 minutes. Very, very small sample size. Not so good with putt, Coleson and Roslovic, zero two goals. Still had a pretty good shot here. All right. We'll talk about that maybe in the next segment. Rumors on the way, declinations, you're talking CFL, which I assume means Elks and Labor Day Classic and where to stop for gas and donuts on the way down. Is that what you're going to do? Correct. Yeah. Okay. And we have our friend, bag milk at one o'clock today. Anything you want to talk about, you know, the orders I thought right about now they'd be releasing the training camp schedule. Nobody has that I know of in the NHL teams. So they're holding back on that. Maybe there's a few guys that want to be signed by the time it's released. We don't know, but we will have that for you as soon as it comes available. And I mean as soon because good Lord, amide. We are looking for content and I'm sure you can understand that. Go to highergood.ca, higher good stable jobs create stable lives. I like that. Well written. Do a good job. I'm doing a job. J's 11 Cleveland. By me on the mound. He's he's beatable. They got a Cleveland won the other night. They with J's won last night with C's. Yeah, they did. They won 11 nothing. Yeah. Yeah, I mean they're he's he's just lights out. If you get to the playoffs with C's, that's a you could win game one.
Yeah. Would you start him game one? Yeah, I think so. Like no doubt or at this point. That's a big straight kill. I'm one of my favorite things about doing this show is there are times when you know we're talking about the J's game. The J's is on sports net. Everybody knows that. So we can give updates and we can talk about the game and do all that. There are some sporting events where there's like an embargo. You can give the score or whatever, but you can't specifically talk about you know events or whatever. And during those periods is when this show is absolutely strained to its largest amount because we can't avoid it. We're fans of sports. And speaking of my thanks to Declan who turned it from the tennis, which is his passion. If Jamo was here, you probably would be able to you know keep it on the tennis. So I appreciate you being such a good person. Well, I think it's just the second round. If Felix, it's not looking great for him.
Did come into the tournament is the three seed, which is great for Canadians, but happy to put the J's on it amidst a playoff push. Right. And I mean, we don't like I still don't think they're going to make it, but what do I know? And you know fans are very interested in it. So I think it's a good idea to give give updates. Ryan Getz laughs going to have his number retired by the Anna Heimdux. Whenever I think of Ryan Getz laugh, I think of how funny it is that he is the second most popular member of the Getz laugh family in his own hometown. Is that not correct, Declan? Yeah, I mean his brother, man, what he did for those Saskatchewan Rough Riders, not Royal Canadian Air Force. It now I will say this when they're going out to dinner, Ryan's going to be fully in the bill. But there's no question that playing for the Rough Riders means a little bit more for a Canadian kid. I was St. Louis Blues have announced a new leadership group. Most of them were offered sheeted from the Ebb and the Noeners, Broberg and Holloway are A's.
They get the A's and I mean, I don't know if St. Louis's offered sheeted anybody. I'm a coward. I should just say what the past tense of offer sheeted is. And then we could be fine, but I can't. Guessing is for game shows, not your business. Workday is the Enterprise AI platform for HR, Finance and IT, with AI grounded in your context to get work done and done right. It's a new workday. Hi, Podvans, Max Russian here from the Chart Toping Guardian for the Weekly Podcast. Don't not to cry. If you enjoy the World Cup with us, you'll be glad to know we're back for the new Premier League season. Expect three episodes a week, questionable predictions and the biggest stories in soccer from the Premier League to the Champions League and beyond. More now on YouTube or listen wherever you get your podcasts. But those are already leaders on the St. Louis Blues and that's something the owners are still kind of fighting back from. And I don't blame Stan Bowman, you may.
Bowman was certainly a part of it and he could have accepted the Holloway portion of it did not. But again, that gets to familiarity with the team. Mike Babkoss is going to go through that now. You know, people are going to say to him, you know, Mike, Quinhotsen, 30 goals last year, but he's going to seem twice in action, you know, or three times. You know, it's hard for a coach to make that decision over a veteran guy. You know, the veterans have such a big advantage, even like Max Jones, who's, you know, spent time in the Mono leagues. Got a huge advantage over, you know, some of the guys that got like Owen Michaels who's a right handed center, a right shot center, coming out of college. He does have an advantage because they don't have any right shot centers and you'd kind of like to have one. He has a range of skills. He could eventually or maybe for the start penalty kill. So we'll see how this goes. I they say no. PTOs are don't expect a PTO. I think I would if that's the case, then I would expect to trade.
If they're not going to sign Curtis, Lazar, do a PTO. Then then we're probably looking at a trade or or door number three is Curtis Lazar wants a contract refused to sign a PTO. And the one is like, okay, go ahead, see if I care. So it's like a game of chicken. You know, it's like these two jokers over here deciding who's going to go by lunch. What do you guys do rock, rock payers scissors? Or do you just make Brandon do it? Well, okay, we don't make Brandon do it. We ask nicely if they're going on a mall walker if he has anywhere to go. And he'll be like, yes, I am doing that. I'd be like, awesome. Are you able to take my debit card to such and such place? I've never seen an exchange of a debit card. He just buys everything. Well, you get your headphones on so fast that like you can't hear the conversation. But like yesterday I watched Declan like hand over his debit card. There was one day I had Declan my debit card for something.
And I forgot to ask it back from him. Oh, so he had on my debit card for a whole day. Wow. Until the next day I was like, hey, man, do you have my debit card? And he's like, oh my god, I do. No, that's basically a plot of a famous movie. I'll forget his car except the debit card was the bank money. Oh, I remember, oh, I thought you were talking about this as an actual Albert Hitchcock movie. And I was going to make a joke saying, oh, I remember that one, the debit card, but a last. Never mind. Aaron Donald's new contract with the Rams. What does it look like and how much can he help? I think it's 20 million guarantee you could be up to 30 with incentives. I think there is an argument Aaron Donald is like obviously Tom Brady is the goat of course. But when you talk about just who is the best football player ever in a vacuum? Jerry Rice, Lawrence Taylor, Aaron Donald, like those are guys in the conversation. So now he's been out for two years. He does have Miles Garrett on the other side, which is going to do wonders for him.
Probably not the same way if he had come back and it was Jared Verst there with no disrespect to Jared Verst. I think like I don't expect him to come in and have 15 and a half sacks or anything like that. But I expect him to I expect him to eat double teams. I expect him to stuff the run. I expect him to make a little bit easier for Miles Garrett there on the edge. He's an amazing player keeps his body and tip top shape. They paid him $20 million after two years on the couch for a reason. I really do think he's that good. Falcons are undecided on the starting quarterback. What I'm getting from this, either of you can answer this is that Matt Ryan's coming back. Oh God. Absolutely not. Matt Ryan, like he's even talked about. He was like, man, there was even a couple of times like my last season in Atlanta before even went to Indiana. They was like, oh, this might be over. And then when he was in Indiana, he was like, oh, yeah, like I'm done. I'm through. Do you mean Indianapolis? Yeah. In Indiana.
I know, but it's okay. All right. Okay. I'll give you that. Kurt Cousins starting quarterbacking with the Braiders. We're happy with that. I am. Yeah. Happy enough. Anything else in the NFL that is worth talking about? Like Cuts or the Cardinals get their actual wide receiver one back in Michael. I'm now totally blanking on his name. Wilson. Michael Wilson. Thank you very much. Gizola's happy. He is actually because Michael Wilson is the WR one in Arizona as much as everybody. He wants it to be Marvin Harrison Jr. It is Michael Wilson. Okay. Thousand six yards last year. Now, I'm going to take a couple of minutes and this is very selfish of me. But I'm going to tell you my sad tale of woe about my fantasy baseball team. Knock yourself out. It's a head to head league. It's both an L and a L. So full bore the entire pool of talent. And I have done very well this year. Didn't finish first.
That was Mr. Fenwick senior who did. But I going into the playoffs. I had a I think a 50 50 chance to win. However, Mizorowski did not pitch well last night and Schlitler pitched well, but didn't win last night. And so my season is over. The the playoff game that I'm in doesn't end till Sunday, but it's over. And online they're talking about how many people are going to lose in their head to head because Mizorowski who is absolute money had a poor outing against the Chicago Cubs yesterday. It is a ruination of a large group of otherwise brilliant and lovely human beings who play fantasy baseball. Yep. Very sad. I'm very sad to hear that. No. I watched Schlitler not get the win though. Yeah. You know, he should have, but you know, he gave up a run light and that does count. And he was up against was it debt. It was debt. It was debt. It was a it was a big pitching battle yesterday between the two of them and then
Bednar came in. He was good and the angels closer. Boyce came in. He was good. And then I watched the 10th. Nothing happened except for Mike Trock got a hit. His first hit of the game. Clutch. And then they proceeded to give up five runs in the 11th. Not my favorite. I used to cheer for the expose when they were bad. I know how it feels. But you're praying for rain. Yeah. Watching that game yesterday though, I was like, man, you can really tell the difference between guys like Mike Trout and all of them versus even a guy like Vladdy when you compare the two of them. Yeah. Because at that point, Trout had struck out twice and had grounded out once. And he was so calm in the box. And you compare that to Zach Netto who was literally like batting before him. He was talking to himself, taking breaths, whatever.
He took a pitch right down the middle, Mike Trout. And he was like, all right, like whatever. Is there sort of shrugged it off and then crack? No. There's a huge difference between the years and those guys. It's crazy. Vladdy hit a ball to the moon last night. It was great call from Schoenman too. No. It was it was nice. I'm really cheering for him. I love that guy. So I saw Steven Asmith on TV. You're okay. He's yelling and screaming about Kauai and I or Stormdorf's. I'm not sure which, but he's mad at Kauai or is everybody mad at Kauai for getting off Scott free or do people not care? I guess in Toronto, they don't care. They just got the guy. Listen, I don't know how I think it's crazy. Like absolutely insane that the player involved in a cap-star convention situation did not get suspended. Didn't have for half a season, a whole season.
But I thought for sure they would be like, hey, you know, you're dealing with this. He got like the equivalent of the slap on a finger, not even the wrist. It was like, you know, you shouldn't have done that. It was my bad guys. And even his press release was like, I made a mistake. I took money from the Clippers fraud department and I thought everything was okay. But I'll be better. I promise. And then the agent, like he takes a hard cheese, you know, wise uncle, it was his agent. And he's done. He can't operate with anybody in the NBA, right? Right. Lifetime band, I believe is what came across. That was a big one for me. Like that's, you know, that's how you make your living. Like these, Steve Bomber is going to be fine. President of basketball. Well, he's also the richest guy in the NBA. Yeah, I'm sure listen, like Kauai Leonard's family member probably not exactly hurting for cash.
I'm sure Kauai is going to take care of him. But like there was one guy who really kind of lost his livelihood in all of this. And again, it's like, they're millionaires. It's a different scenario. But he'll never be able to gamble big in the back of a plane on the whether drive and flying to a new town. That's true. You know, yeah. Ryan says not a basketball guy in the slightest, but it's insane. The NBA did nothing to it. Kauai. I just, I can't. I can't believe that he got off. As he got free like $700,000 only. He signed a deal with aspiration for was it 24 or 14? I think it was 24. Pay that whole bill to the NBA be like, hey guys, sorry. Like I'll give it back. You know, like it's crazy. But maybe he feels bad. That's enough. No, it's not. And again, listen. Look, I think that should have happened. But on the flip side, I'm a Raptor span.
This trade is going to go through. And Kauai is going to be on the team. I'm ecstatic. Now, I want you both to confirm or deny what I'm about to say, because this is how I believe in my heart. I believe the NBA did what they did because they have to not because they wanted to. It came out. It was good reporting. They couldn't deny it. They tried to deflect it. It wouldn't go away. So they did this begrudgingly. And that to me is the definition of an organization or in this case, a league that really has to get his priority straight. And I respect the NBA far more than I respect the NFL. But this seems like an inconvenience as opposed to, hey, good job reporting. I'm so in like, there's a reason the NBA investigation did not stop for a long time. And that's because it came out. And I think Adam Silver was like, all right. Well, you know, the news cycle, it'll reset. Everyone will forget about this. We can just sort of, you know, push this under the under the rug. Forget about it. Whatever.
But Pablo Torrey mentioned earlier today did not let it die. He kept on that train all year, found more instances of caps are convention from the glippers. Fork why. And was like, all right, fine. Like, I guess we just got to do this now. And there were like, there were comments like, you know, Torrey's like a reporter. And there was like, I mean, he was taking hits and he's, he was like, he's got to feel like pretty vindicated. Big fat Stogie for him right now. He was not only right, he was super right. And also everyone that was calling him a journalist before like, you know, is he gonna get any repercussions for writing these stories? Whatever. He's already won the damn Pulitzer for investigative journalism. Like brother, he knows what he's doing. Well, I, you know, they're like, that was Josh, by the way. There needs to be more, you know, of him and Ronan and all of those guys and every walk of life.
Because there's stuff going on. And it even when he gets police, nobody pays for it really. But at least, you know, the richest man in the NBA is like it. He's probably inconvenienced. And that's about all you can do in this, in this world. Oh, he's more than inconvenienced. They took away five picks. Five consecutive first round. That was pretty punished for it. You know what else about that that makes me like, so now there only could be 29 first round picks. So now there's someone coming out of college that's gonna miss out on first round money because of what the Clippers did. Yeah. Like that doesn't exactly seem fair. You like, you, it goes from 30 to 29 and someone just has to miss out on first round money because of what the Clippers did. Like that's not exactly fair. And it's not fair either because the Clippers have always been owned by really stand up guys. And it's been. Simple solution. They take the Clippers picks, rename the NBA cup the aspiration cup. And in the championship game, whoever wins it gets the Clippers first round pick.
Paul Lotari does the jump ball for the championship game for five straight years. I stole that directly from Twitter. I don't remember who posted. I apologize. But you got it in. You know, we'll claim. Stephen LaDuke says Pavlo Tore was on a sp end this morning and explain why Kauai got off basically Scott free as reporting the NBA made a deal with Kauai to take the arbitration option away from Bulkmer. All right. Well, so that's like the FBI. That's how they do stuff. You know, real. Yeah. Okay. All right, 1238 on the way. We have bagged Michael one o'clock. We have declination CFL straight ahead and lots of comments we haven't gotten to about the NBA, but also about the Oilers, Elks and more all straight ahead low down with low tide on sports 1440 and YouTube and all the other places to and there are many and we thank you for tuning in for it. And we're brought to you by Wolf GMC Buick. This is the low down on sports 1440.
I brought to you by Wolf GMC Buick. The guardians of Cleveland are playing the J's. It's one one, but the J's are up on the top of the fifth and they have the basis juiced by beyond the mound, looks at the plate. Of the group that emerged last year for the J's. Which one do you like in terms of the next five years? He didn't really he didn't play basically all this year. So hopefully it doesn't affect him later in his career, but as a barger. Great arm. Great arm. Very defensively aware he's got a pretty decent bat all things considered. And he's super fast now granted his it's an ankle injury that's kept him out of this whole year basically. So I think the speed. It should be fine, but like.
I if he goes from the 99th percent tile and speed to the 85th or whatever. I don't think you're losing your mind too bad about that. Yeah. This individual did not sign their name. No, Stan should not have matched the Holloway offer sheet. He's always hurt almost made his first full season after being drafted. Then what eight games left in the season gets hurt again, watches the blues get hammered in the playoffs. Then the next year, same old, same old gets hurt multiple times. Can help his team. Very evil, very nice. Well, evil is a strong word. Getting hurt is not an evil thing. It's an unfortunate thing. You know, evil is Josh getting a cold all the time. That's evil. And he played 77 games in the regular season in 24 to 24. Oh, as a barger.
Oh, I'm sorry. I was talking about Dylan all the way. Oh, okay. My apologies. Oh, no, it's okay. I was clocked out for a second. Well, that's the shocking. That's the honorary name of the show. I'm sorry. I was two hours show. Yeah. Now I'm just thinking about dinner. What do you have? I'm thinking about it. I know. I got to cook for two people. Oh, for who? Girlfriend. So you got to make it good. All of us have to be there. Okay. Well, I don't think all of us have to be there. Okay. What does she like? Well, listen, this is going to involve shrimp. I have a bag. I'll fit in my freezer. So I just want to keep pulling out the same old pony of Alfredo. So here's what you do. I'm going to have a text line. This open 833-4014-40. What's wrong with Alfredo? No, it's just that I made that on Sunday. 833-4014-4014-40. We need shrimp. Ideas for how many shrimp you got?
There's probably about like 40 in there. Okay. So that's you could not use all of them, but you've got enough. I'll be using all of them. All right. 833-4014-40. Really good. Now, are you going to, because your dad's a very good cook. Are you capable of, you know, doing elaborate things like two pans at once? Yeah. So when I'm making Alfredo, I got three things going at the same time, because you've got to make the sauce in one saucepan. You've got to make sure that you're cooking the shrimp in another. And then on the flip side, you've got a big pot with all your pasta that's boiling. Right, right. And you've got to focus on these three for like 10 minutes, because that's about how long it takes for all of these. How, what level do you cook your pasta? I'll dentate. Right. You're a smart man. It's the only way to eat pasta. Damn, straight. Yeah. Do you buy good pasta? I mean, like I don't really know how to answer that fully, but I mean, because all pasta is sort of good pasta. I'm sure if I try it, I can make my own, but I don't want to have to have to make your own.
But, you know, spend a little extra. It's okay. I'm sure it won't. Well, I'm hungry. It sounds like, you know, you're doing. And I'm sure I hope it goes well. And I hope somebody makes a really good suggestion. And you do a good job. Okay. Well, I'm not making fondue or KD with shrimp, but. Well, those are things you can do. You can do higher than that. I'm texting that in. Shrimp with garlic plus goes great in fondue. Okay. You're not doing fondue. Shrimp tacos. Shrimp fried rice is very good. I do like that. I do like fried rice, but I don't have rice. That can't get any of my fridge. No, no, I don't have rice. It's day old in my fridge. That's how you make fried rice. It's got to be day old rice. I don't know why, but this is what everybody says. And it's not, you know, just some silly rule. It's the law of rice, apparently. Evidently. Shrimp tacos.
Let your thawed shrimp sit in Cajun seasoning for half an hour. Melta couple tablespoons of butter. Mix with bread. Make it three. Butter's so good with fresh garlic set aside. Grill shrimp at 400 for 30 seconds per side. So you have grill marks. Pour the melted butter over the shrimp right before serving. You're welcome. Delta, Valegy. That does sound good. It does sound pretty good. We're going to need some extra stuff with that. Cajun seasoning in that out. Damn, that sounds good. Fresh garlic. That's the way to go. Japan has a ban on day old rice. This is what happens when the oilers don't release the... Well, that's true. If the training camp schedule orders. If you're listening, just release the training camp schedule and we'll move off of shrimp. I could make a cotter Yamamoto joke, but he doesn't play for the team anymore. Yeah. Well, apparently people die because of day old rice.
Okay, well, why'd Japan ban it? That's going to be a bigger story than we're prepared to take on. We've already talked about the NBA. We're just running out of energy to talk about the legalities of things. This is why she told me not to be eaten day old rice. Okay, it makes sense now. This is something that's been brought up to me already from my girlfriend, whom I love very much. So the idea of getting rice today would be a good idea then. Yeah, I guess so. But Jumbalaya, that's probably the right answer for... My mother-in-law, Sophie, makes the best Jumbalaya I've ever had in my life. So good. My dad does the same thing. $7,000 worth of meat in it, but it's so good. Yeah, I do have chicken. I could put chicken in there. But don't you have to... That takes a little time, right? Yeah, but like I get home from work at two o'clock in the afternoon.
Okay. So you've got time? I got more time than the most, I would say. Okay. I have the simplest pizza dough recipe and recipe for shrimp pizza that I would knock your socks off. Let me know if you're interested. LOL, Northside Adam. Just keep letting these flood in and when I see one that I'm like, all right, this is the one. Because I do have a jumboly recipe. I'll shoot you a text on the text line. Okay. Because this is clearly, this has gone off the rails. It is not. We're on the rails and happy about it. We're helping you, sir. Yeah, I appreciate it. You know, although apparently you don't need help,
you know, everything's going smoothly there. Maybe we don't need to help you. Maybe you should ignore us like Declan is. It's probably the shrimp and cook beef. You are welcome. Oh, that's good. By the way, it's five one Toronto. Our shrimp talk has really inspired the blue jays. I don't know if Laddie got a hit or not. I was. Laddie got an RBI right on. Right on Nathan Lucas got a double. I'm very much in on Vlad. Finishing strong. I'm right there with you. I think yesterday was big. Yeah. Shrimp fajitas over tacos. Now that does sound good too. Shrimps such a great thing to eat. It's the it's very versatile. Yeah. Because you can cook it in a lot of different stuff. And you can take away the seafood flavor of it. Mm hmm. Or you can like sort of leave it in there, depending on how you cook it and everything. Yeah.
Well, there you go. Maybe you'll get your own TV cooking show, The Galloping Gourmet, too. No, I don't think so. I'm not a good enough cook for that. Also, my fingers can't move. My hands can't move fast enough to do the fast chopping. It's really sad. I'm trying. I'm trying real hard. But don't cut yourself. No, I'm not cutting myself. Listen, you keep the thumb tucked in and you go off the knuckles. It's just that like I can't like move my hand back the right distance to make sure that it works. But you have other skills. I do. I mean, like it's just I wish, you know, cutting stuff didn't take so much gosh darn time. No, but Declan could come over and help. To not deck. That's good. Appreciate it. Never mind, I guess. And he would like he would tape the college game if you asked him. That's how much it means. He just haven't run it in the background. But he gets off work at six. I don't really like to eat right around then,
which means I got to be done before that. I got to do all my prep like 430. You know what I'm saying? Fraser with a little attitude here. You don't die from day old rice unless you don't refrigerate it. It's food. Fraser, you can feel. You can feel the absolute like personal discuss to Fraser. Listen to us talk. Talk about rice. There's got to be something more to that though. Yeah, I agree with you. I mean, come on. I almost think they're just because they're very advanced in a lot of ways. Food wise, especially like they'll do that thing where they'll sell you seven bananas in a package, one for each day of readiness. Yeah, they're pretty crazy. It's got to be something more along the lines of like that, rather than just a safety issue, because. Dailed. Hey, two days. Skull scarfed it. Jerry L. I'm Asian left over rice for decades. Still a live brother. There you go. The perfect. Thanks, Jerry. You know, logic and reason arrives in the percentage of Jerry L and we think, Jerry.
We got a lot of people out there who are, you know, rice eater is going, what in the name of Jesus are these people doing on the radio? Rightfully so. Yeah. Coming up next hour on things we don't know anything about, but are prepared to act like experts in the others are not releasing their training camp roster, even though it's September and it's time for us. But we do know that there's apparently no PTOs. Have you seen the list of players who are unsigned? It's a lot and they're good. There's some good tourists. Terrace Sankos on the list. Logan Stanley's on the list. We got somebody signed on the island. Who signed on the island? One of the wingers that people were talking about just the other day signed. People were talking about the orders getting him, but it did not have it as 1.5 million to which is a great deal for one year. Obviously, it was basically the deal that the other sign with Roslivika year ago, plus
about 400,000. It wasn't much. Said on the island like well, I think Islanders, but it was somewhere in the New York Tri-State area. And a good player too, like a guy you'd recognize. I didn't see anything on the Rangers official. Oh, Eli Tolvenson signed with the Rangers. Right. Okay. There you go. Argentinian shrimp. My new go-to. They're in a light pink bag. It Costco from Be Red. I said brown because I'm colorblind. All right. You're weight, you're colorblind? No. Sorry to hear that. Yeah. It's not on the big ones. I mean, I can see like an amber light and a green light and a red light. But browns, greens look like browns. And some others that are a little bit weird for me. Like I would really like to know because everybody goes red and I see red. I've got this beautiful Canada flag looking at me.
I really like that it's there. One of my favorite flags ever, you know. And but I said red and white, but it's my red. Maybe it's different for you. I don't know. You mix up red and white? No. Oh, okay. I know my browns and greens are mixed up because I walked around for decades saying, where are my brown pants and I kept being told they were green. Yeah. All right. But I don't like what is true red to you versus what it is to me, right? Like true red to me would be like with the light on the pole right there or like the light on your microphone. But I'm saying that's my when you say red, I recognize red, but it's my red. Maybe your red's different than mine. I don't know how to describe like a cherry like, okay, anyone that's gotten like jelly bellies that are cherry. Like that red is like my true red. I don't know like cherry red is what I think of like red lipstick.
It's very pronounced. You know, like that. Remember that guy who dropped off gloss at raisins to me boy, that was good. What a lovely individual man. People are so kind. Um, hey guys watching the J's game, the background see how many empties, uh, seats are in the stadium in Cleveland. The fans, uh, left like they did in Major League. They're in a race. It's very sparse. I think they owned the last wildcard, but it's what time the people work, you know, uh, yeah, Cleveland. Is that do you know if that's central time deck or if that eats Eastern time? I get central. All right. So they're one hour ahead of us. So it's 155. Yeah. The person, you know, they're at their desks ignoring their work, listening to the ball game and watching it. It is actually Eastern. Normal. All right. Well, it's two o'clock in the afternoon. Yeah. Ohio would be, you know, I've got to get to get me a little bit when I look that up just now. It gets pretty weird over in that area, you know, Michigan, I think is on. I don't know now. Well, because Michigan would be on central time because it's right under Manitoba, which
is on central time. And I think Missouri is as well. They are Manitoba. Michigan. Oh, what about Missouri, like Kansas City? Is that central? That would have to be central. It has to be, but that just screams central time. They are certainly Texas is central, you know. Yeah, that they are because I do remember when I was down there. Although at some point this year, they're going to be two hours different from us. Well, this is getting silly. All for cows. All right. I don't know what channel to watch the hockey games on and I don't know what time they come on anymore. I think they're all on sports net still except for Mondays and Wednesdays that are on prime. Right. You know, back in the old days, people just listened to Rod Phillips on the radio. Bases are juiced again for the Jays. Yeah, I think that Yoho is in the game now. Great arm, but it's all over the place. Him and As at the plate. I was like when Donovan talks about him and As because he he doesn't like him and
As and he's not a great hitter. He's a really good fielder, but he has the the largest WRC plus on the Jays this year. That's how bad. Laddy's been, you know, and Bishops not there anymore. Okay, on the way, bagged milk will join us at one o'clock ish and then Declan has 140. We'll talk about myriad things. We will not go back to shrimp or rice, probably not much on the Jays. Everything else is open low down with low tide on sports 1440 and YouTube brought to you by Wolf GMC Buick. It's time for an update with Declan Krueger. Guessing is for game shows, not your business.
