1:00Oh, four my colleagues are Declan Kruger and Josh Fenwick today. Okay, it's going to be a busy show. Maybe we'll have some news. We already had some tennis news. Baseballs underway. J's play today. We've got the Labor Day classic coming on Monday as they outstown the road of the stamp heaters going to be a blast. We have several issues to get to and my learned colleagues. Declan and Josh are going to answer them issue one. On Tuesday at noon, we'll reconvene on the low down. We're going to be talking about Joel Robustelli. How good is he and what will we be saying about him Tuesday, Declan Kruger? He's very good. He is a great possession receiver. I think he is someone who is going to fill a degree of a Brendan O'Leary orange role where he is going to be great on second and six is second and sevens with a little bit more. Take the ball up field upside. All right. Issue two, J's rolling into Kansas City like John Candy and Steve Martin in that rickety car from playing trains and automobiles, but they have a chance. How big was that win yesterday in Cleveland, Josh?

2:00Huge. I mean, they're only half came back now, right? And I wouldn't exactly say the royals have been playing great ball as of late. So you can really, you can really put some foot on throats here. Got to win more than you lose. You got you got to basically have to go two of three every series the rest of the way. Amen to that. Issue three. Layla Fernandez lost in the third round earlier today, just a few minutes ago at the US open. Runner up in 2021. Will she ever win a grand slam? Declan Kruger. Oh, wow. That's a good question. I know we do this rapid fire style. Oh, she's young. She turns 24 in two days, actually. The women's game is a little bit more. There's a little bit more parity than the men's historically or recently, I said, oh, I'll say no. OK. I'll say no. It's a tough question. Right. Yeah. I hope so, but I'll say me too. I always cheer for issue four. Profitball Hall of Fame is so mad about hoodie not getting in the hall. They have the voting poll and they're threatening others. Good idea or just an overreaction, Josh.

3:02Uh, mm overreaction, I guess. I mean, like, fire half the voters. Like, Jays, listen, I mean, I get in first ballot, crazy, but also he is technically an active coach. He's just coaching football. Also, he cheated. Yeah, a bunch of times. Yeah. All right. Issue five, if Elliott Friedman bolts sports net, who would you choose to replace him? Declan. Oh, with Elliott Friedman. Oh. Well, I got to be honest, like with, with victory plus TV going down, I know he's got his hands in a lot of cookie jars, but to fill the insider role, he can talk. He's got to like, Frank's not the worst call. Oh, no, I like Frank. Yeah. He wrote the forward for my book, available in all good bookstores now. And the bad ones too. He's right. Issue six are the orders deliberately withholding the training camp rosters because they're worried about losing publicity due to the elx playing the Labor Day classic on Monday,

4:05Josh. Are the Edmonton Oilers ever going to lose publicity in this town because of the Edmonton elx, I say no. You know, your rational answers often irritate. And that was the exact. I wanted you to say yes, but that's a better answer. So you're on notice. OK. All right. So what are we looking forward to? I know you, by the way, you don't have to get too detailed oriented, but I saw your, your tweet. It looks like the food looked great. Looks like your girlfriend loved it. And actually, maybe it resented how good it was. How did it go? I went great. She did. Those were her exact words that she was. P.O.D. that I was good at cooking. And then we had a conversation about gender roles, but yeah, you know, it was, it was a, it was a delicious meal. Well, I will tell her that on behalf of the people that I've cooked for, she's lucky. Be sure. Yeah. I mean, I could roll my kids in here and they could tell you exactly how bad it is when somebody

5:06can't cook and they're making supper. I've, hey, you know what, haven't we all been there? At least once. A little bit, right? All right. So I imagine you are going to be filled with college football, but I want to hear it from the horse's mouth, that then how's your weekend shaping up? Yeah. A lot of college football week one, like I said, bit of a de facto preseason. Of course, going to be watching tomorrow, CFL throughout the weekend as well, Labor Day Classic on Monday. And I guess that is kind of what is going to be taking my sporting priorities. Yeah. The, the, the Labor Day game, it always comes like later on on like it's what times it start four o'clock. And you're sort of your, your Monday's, you know, gone, but it's a nice little, you know, oh, yeah, it's a bonus here at the end of this puppy. I get, no, I don't get it turkey because it's Labor Day, but I do get to watch the Elks and I think they're going to win. Would you put a number on it like, like a total score, like 27, 14, or do you think it'll be close? I mean, the Labor Day Classic always kind of within that range.

6:07There's always potential for a late score. I will say the Elks win 31, 20. Okay. All right. So it is going to be a little bit of a blood bath for the stamp readers. I mean, they're not going to be in it. They're a good team though, but they're not as good as the Elks. That's exactly what it is. Like they'll have their moments. They'll score some points, I believe they'll just give up more and they'll have less moments than the Elks. All right. Sounds good. All right. I want to talk a little bit about there isn't oil or thing I want to talk about. Last year they had two rookies. One Savoy did very well. The other I coward, not as well. Today on my blog, I listed a total of, I want to count them here. 17 and 28 is 45 rookies from 2000, like Horcoff in 2000 through to last year, which was I coward and Matt Savoy. And I have the cut line at 1.50 points per 60 at even strength. 17 guys made it over that number.

7:09And they're all people you know, guys like Conor McDavid, Mike Comrie, Andrew Cogliano, Alex Hemsky, Sean Horcoff, Nal, Yakupov, Fernando Pesani, Jared Stoll, Sam Gagne, Ryan Newton Hopkins, Jason Samera, Taylor Hall, Jordan, Eberleel, Linus O'Marck, Matt Savoy, guys that you know and went on to really good careers. Now I chose arbitrarily 1.5, but when you cut it like that, you do find a lot of names where players simply did not have long careers for whatever reason. Injury in the case of Yassel Polarvy, not being able to score in the case of Magnus Paiarvy. Slepper Shev was a little bit of a selfish player. Ryan McHoud has made it, but not as a skill guy. I got like Dylan Holloway did make it. It's certainly Leon Drysaddle did, but he was so unlucky coming out of the draft and playing. He was very unlucky as a teenager in Edmonton. He got sent back. So he was just at 1.05 points per 60 at even strength. That's the exact number that I powered had 1.05 last year, even strength points. And that's low. And so when we're framing the argument is I want to, I want to say, man,

8:13Mike Babcock's got to play I powered on a skill line. There is at least some doubt about what I powered will be able to do on that skill line. And I think more than any other rookie and any other time because Babcock is the coach, Howard really needs to hit the ice and fly and do very well in preseason. He's going to get a look. And I think that is the one of the main themes we'll talk about and we'll see in this year's preseason is like Howard getting a push. Who is he playing with? Because if he's last year when he played with Drysaddle or McDabby, he scored well. But when you're playing with depth centers on this team, that means you really aren't playing with a difference maker. And in the case of Howard, that would mean at a young age, he'd have to drive a line. It's a lot to ask. We'll find out as the days go by. But I think it's an interesting way to frame what we're heading into in training camp here. One of the big stories along with Mike Babcock, who's going to be obviously what we're all talking about is how he sees this roster. And one of the first players who's going to come to light is I powered along guys like

9:19Jake Walman. What's the goal tending look like? And we'll see. But I think I powered some big story. What's your big story for the orders, Josh? That is a good question because a lot of them today. Yeah. Yeah. Way to go. You're on fire, man. I slept well last night. OK. Well, that's good. That's good to hear. Biggest story. I like you. Man, this is horrible radio. Well, I got one. Yeah, no, I need a little bit of time to jump in. Yeah. If you want to think we talked about this a little bit when we did our declinations last week, top five kind of storylines, I still think it's Mike Babcock. I still think it's what does that does for right? Like what's he going to look like having not coach? What's he going to look like? Not having a lot of success with tomorrow. How is the team going to play under him? Defensive structure, all of that, but it all kind of all roads lead back to Mike Babcock. So low hanging fruit, but I think it's probably my biggest story. Mike Babcock traditionally gets his line, sets them and he doesn't move off of them. And I think it's going to be a real adjustment for him and to know what his fans because they,

10:20when Matt T would get stubborn, they'd get mad at him. And I think they'll get mad at Babcock. But if he's winning, it doesn't matter to you have an answer now. Yeah. I guess it's like my, my all roads lead back to Babcock thing would be all roads lead back to the goalie situation. And that's just like the forever story in Edmonton. Will the goal tend to be good enough? And the injury is, we haven't talked about it much because we were so worried about Savoy. But Anderson being hurt means that it's Tristan Jari again. It's Tristan Jari and Devin Levi, whether it's by committee or one of them gets the bulk of the starts, we don't really know. And then when Anderson comes back, it's like, okay, well, you're going to have to get him in so that he can get reacclimated to the NHL. Yeah. Suggestions coming in as the replacement for Elliott Freeman. By the way, we'll talk to Steve Lansky about that one o'clock today, who he sees as being a possible replacement. I'm also going to ask him if, you know, there's a danger here being this late to broadcast time. And you haven't, you know, signed your big cannon. I think it's a bad idea, but we'll find out with Lansky at one o'clock.

11:21Josh says not our Josh, but another Josh. There's Josh is everywhere. Geek flaming. I love Geek. He'd be fantastic. I don't know if he'd want to do it. I think he likes what he does on the prospect side. All right. Declan, what have you got coming up on declinations at 1240 today? Yes. So in honor of UMass's win against Rutgers last night, it was their first win against an FPS since 2023. They were on a 16 game losing streak. They came in as 29 and a half point favorites. And they beat, they beat UMass beat rusk Rutgers 3721. So Josh and I are going to be doing the top five upsets that we actually got to see with our own. Oh, it's cool. So like obviously, you know, Miracle and ice, that's not going to be there. We weren't born, Buster Douglas, Mike Tyson, not going to be there. It's the ones that we were actually sitting down and watching with our own two eyes. You know, I'm going to do a humble brag now. Is that okay? Okay. 2004, I think it was. I'm watching the both socks and the Yankees play and Dave Roberts.

12:21Now the manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers, they were out of it. The Boston Red Sox were gone. They weren't going to win a blasted thing. He stole a second base and it like it was like, wow, the brazen stealing second base when you're down by so much and you know, you're behind in the series. And I set out loud. I said, if they win the series, I'm going to remember that. I stole a second base and damned if they didn't win that series. And then the one the world series and I, I've been trying to make a living off that since, which is like 22 years. Nobody pays attention. Nobody cares. But I do. And that's why I mentioned it. Sean says as winners of Kraft Hockeyville should table be hosting a game due to geographical location. I'd assume they'd ask for oilers V flames, but haven't heard anything. Well, the orders be playing down south. I would think that the flames, they'd want the flames there. And then the flames would like to play a team they could beat. So who would that be Vancouver? The Ableton Oilers. No, they need a team they can beat.

13:22They won two of three last year, Todd. Yeah. They doesn't matter like how bad you are. How many there's certain games that people just show up for? I can name 19 of 23 roster spots for the orders now. Can you name five flames? Matt Vagrid and Matt Coronado, Dustin Wolf, Devon Kooley, Zane Perrecht, Simone Nemitch, Kevin Ball. Now I'm just like now I'm just running out of five. So two of those guys played the same position. I have positions five of the people he just met Michael backland. Five of the people you just mentioned you went to school with. So that doesn't really count. Simone Nemitch is older than me. Zane Perrecht is younger than me. Matt Coronado is 26 years old. I like Perrecht a lot. Joel Fariby also older than me. That's another name. I thought you traded the big, I thought I thought ball was gone. I'm pretty sure ball's still on the roster. I thought I'm pretty sure he's the top left. You met well, that's okay. Now now we get back to a team you can beat Vancouver. You want to play Vancouver, right? No, that's your top left defense. Give me give me.

14:22Hey, listen, you want to be the best? You got to beat the best. You know what I'm saying? But I don't think they want to play Colorado. So they'll take the others. Oh, okay. All right. Um, wanted to talk to both of you a little bit about, uh, the Jays and baseball and the difference between baseball now with his pen and race and October baseball. 16:23Okay. So I'm well, I can't, I am blind as a bat. I'm sure. Uh, and they'll play obviously Saturday Sunday against him. The royals are are playing better. They're scoring runs, uh, and they took a bite out of, I think Cleveland, uh, earlier in the week. So, or, no, last week. So be careful. But winning two of three would really help the J's and they are there right now. So I wanted to talk to these two gentlemen who are learning it in all manner of sports about October baseball and how every pitch seems to be magnified. And we remember the big place for exactly one forever. I cannot forget the Rick Monday home run against the Montreal expose in 1981. I have tried who can forget Joe Carter's home run for the Toronto Blue J's or Devon White's spectacular catch in center field that should have led to a triple play, but did not. Who can forget those? Nobody big plays matter and that for some reason baseball because there's time between every pitch. It allows for the Lord to be created in real time.

17:26So October baseball is the pinnacle of sports in many ways. Josh, I'll start with you. Do you agree with that number one? And what would be your argument for being in a greater moment than October baseball? So October baseball is like, you know, that first sip of a beer at an airport when you're going on vacation, right? It's when you get in the car. Yeah. And you're in a certain mood and just like you turn on the radio and the song that you were like, man, you know what hit that one? It's on. It's playing right there right from the beginning. You're like, oh, this is perfect. It's a 22 degree day with a slight breeze. Sun is shining. It's gorgeous. Yes. You know, like it's a perfectly cooked steak. October baseball is all these things. Yes. Nobody can't love October baseball. It's true. The other playoffs and all the other leagues as good as they are, they're sort of like, yeah, I don't know. You can take them or leave them. It's if your team's not playing, maybe you're not as invested when October baseball is

18:28on. You're like, there's something poetic is going to happen because something in baseball that is different from all the other leagues except for sort of the NFL, which is, you know, one and done that anything can happen. A team gets hot in October. They can win the World Series and things can just go absolutely ballistic crazy. No, it's true. What about you? Declan, do you have any, like any single moment in sports that rivals October baseball? Yeah. I mean, like I'm not the biggest base. I listen, I love October baseball and I do think there is something so special about the World Series and just baseball playoffs in general. Like I love them. I do really get up for them, but just on a personal level, like I don't like that as much as I like the CFL playoffs or the NBA playoffs or March, man. You know, it's just a personal thing. It's just not my sport of choice. But there's like Josh hit it, hit the nail on the head. It is like the first sip of a beer at an airport when you're going on a week long vacation. There really is nothing like it in a lot of ways. So I know you as I know you and the every year, I tell you to take the first weekend

19:34of March madness off because it is, it is immoral for us to make you sit here and work when when you really, your mind and your brain and your heart is elsewhere. You know what? I think I think this year I'll take your advice. Just it's painful because like it's a jammer. Always used to our, you know, say, okay, it's world cup. So we've lost a wannock because, you know, Italy's playing today and we don't lose you, not like that, but it's like it hurts you not to be there to watch it and to flip the channels and I understand that it's a great event. And when you appreciate as much as you do, I think that would be the way to go. Um, Falcons are undecided on their starting quarterback. Why are so many teams this late in the game were what? We're like five days away from opening kickoff, right in the opening game. Yeah, Wednesday, right? This is a super bowl rematch five games away, five days away. So, so what we've talked about this pretty much all week. The quarterbacks and starting are, are being left to the last minute in week one.

20:37Is that unusual? A and what are the Falcons going to do? It's not like it's, I wouldn't say it's good, but it's not as unusual as you might think when it's like kind of a QB battle like this where you're, it's not maybe the best situation either way. Uh, I think they'll probably go with two or two star, but I think Pannex will end up taking the job. And what about, uh, it looks like a colds back up is now Anthony Richardson. So he would have moved one that battle over Leonard. Is that what is that the situation? Yeah, I mean, like, I think that's what I'm going to say. Yeah, I mean, like Anthony Richardson, a Riley Leonard is your back. Like keep your, keep your starting QB upright. Keep Danny Dimes upright. Um, okay, uh, GM of the Vikings, uh, Nolan Teasley says that Jay Jim McCarthy is really talented. What would you say in response to that? Uh, next up, I would disagree. Next up, we're going to have grandma talk about who the most handsome boy is. But so because my argument is always, it's not my argument, but it's been said to me

21:46long enough that I've, I've, you know, copied it in my brain is when a quarterback is talented as, as people feel he is or some people feel he is. And it's not working out. And he looks like the devil when he's on the field. Then is it the, is it the, the, the offensive line or is it the, the, the, like how the offense is run? Is it not set up perfectly for McCarthy in Minnesota and he's unable to handle it? Or is he simply just bad at it? I think he's simply just bad at it. Declan? I agree. I think he's simply just bad at it. A lot of guys from that Michigan team have not really panned out. There were great college team. They played great under Harboss system, but getting to the next level, like it just hasn't been there. If I were like independently wealthy and, you know, a little more self-important than I already am, I would start some kind of organization that tries to protect quarterbacks after they get drafted by bad teams. And Minnesota, as good as they've had, they've had really great quarterbacks, but they're

22:47always imported from Philadelphia or Green Bay. This is true. They don't develop quarterbacks very well. I mean, my Green Bay, I mean, honest to God, you could, if you're the Green Bay General Manager, you could get in your car, drive to the Piggly Wiggly, find the stock boy, and turn them into a quarterback by Tuesday. I don't know why the Vikings just don't fleece the packers of their backup quarterback every year. They could have tried and signed it. It could have tried and signed it in a free agency, but instead he took a bag and went to the dolphins. What are you going to do? So they got color Murray instead. Is there anything coming out of the NBA? I feel like this is the most restful sleep the NBA's had in many off seasons. I think there are a couple of, I mean, obviously the big one is quite Leonard and the clippers and Steve Bombers suspension. We touched on that a little bit. The other one is Ben Simmons returning to the NBA one year, three and a half million dollar deal with the Sacramento Kings. This is the real big one. This is a, this is a Sacramento Kings move through and through.

23:51The Sacramento Kings this century have had two first overall picks play on their team. They go by the names of Markel Foltz and Ben Simmons to Philadelphia 76ers first overall picks. I heard on the news from Brandon that it bends back. Yes, he is. He signed with the Kings. Do you think they took, they like they took Ben to a hypnotist and said, you can make that play. You can, you can put the ball in the basket. You want to put the ball in the basket. No, I don't think that happened at all. So what's going to be different? Nothing in my personal opinion. But I trusted the process, Josh. That's, that's nice. I waited for his behavior and then he was under the basket. I saw him. Everybody did. He was identified because he had his number and we saw his face and he couldn't do it. What's changed?

24:51Nothing. I mean, he was a pro fisherman. So maybe he got that out of his system and he was like, you know what guys, I think I can start lacing three balls. But I don't think that's what's going to happen. I think this is going to be a widely disappointing move for the Sacramento Kings and he'll be cut or waived or whatever halfway through the city. He's going to be DNP coach's decision by trade deadline time. You know, Declan, I have a right to be dissatisfied with the process, right? I love and beat, but he's heard all the time. Ben Simmons couldn't make a basket because he, he stopped. He put, he had his own personal ceiling on his success. I don't know. Like, he didn't win. Things got a heck of a lot better from how bad they were. Like you guys were winning 10 games, borderline. They told me to trust the process and the process has delivered an empty box to my front door. There's been no championship. I give you that, but like you want to, you want to leave MVP, which is a lot of things that you'll be.

25:52You have something to cheer for like it. Was it a complete success? No, because they didn't win a championship, but it could have been so, so, so much worse. Why are you so hard on the oilers over during the McDavid era and so soft on the 76ers? Because the oilers have higher expectations. I trusted the process and I got burned. No more process trusting for me. That's it. That's fair. I can't, that's fair. I give it to you. I can't push back on that too. Cracken have signed a Jake Malan into a three year deal. The cracken have done some things. Number one, they got rid of the general manager. So now the forward pass is allowed. They should be better offensively. I thought they've always been kind of stout defensively and their analytics department has to be the best on the league. They've hired so many high quality people. Television cracking and analytics cracken have to be top drawer. When they figure out the offensive side of this thing, it's going to go large. I'm guaranteeing it. Red wings are moving forward with the candidates for the new GM position. Steve Izerman out as of I think was mid July that he ended up leaving leaving.

26:58Let's see candidates. We know of Florida Panthers. Assistant GM Brett Peterson, San Jose Sharks, AGM Jeff Keelty, Hurricane, Hurricane's Assistant GM during York and Tyler Dello, obviously I'm cheering for Dello. We'll say and then Sean Horcoff, who is the guy right now as they wait for the full time. Old Horcoff I think is waiting in line to I wonder if he would get it or they don't think he's he was a rookie in 2000. So he's probably born in I think he was born in 1988. How old would Horcoff be right now? I'm doing the math. If he was born in 88, well 88 wouldn't work because he was in the NHL by 2000. So it must have been 78. So 78 22 he's got to be older than 46, right? 47. I know this is live radio and I should be able to do the math but I can't.

28:01He was born in 70 80s, 47 years old. Okay, 47 years old. He's old enough to be a GM in the national ocule. Yeah, but is the AGM for the red wings, right? So. He's shopping for somebody else but he has a heterocronia does Sean or Coff makes him well qualified to be a general manager. People are talking online right now about how many points Conor McDavid is going to get this year in the national ocule. And the answer is 128. He's going to get 1.64 points per game. People are a little bit high, I think, on Conor McDavid's point total power play is going to be fine. He's going to be fine at five on five. They could be really good but his minutes are going to be reduced overall based on what

29:03Mike Bapcock has said. So that will impact. But in terms of points for 60 at five on five, I think he's going to be right where he's been all the time. And of course he'll be dynamite on the power play. The old is going to win a lot of power play. The key is goal suppression and McDavid buying in. If the, you know, if he buys in and I don't mean he always bought in but now he's going to be determined to do that. And he's going to be mining his peace and cues. And really what the others have to do top to bottom, the forwards, they have to identify the right player to cover coming back. There's a little bit of confusion at times and it costs them. They're really smart people. You know, I, it always bugs me when people say they're not bright enough. Are you kidding? These are in terms of hockey. These are the best of the best of the best. Maybe they can't do surgery and maybe they shouldn't run for office. And I don't know how they'd be with a rock and roll guitar in their hands. But as hockey players, their hockey IQs are through the roof. They'll be fine or not.

30:05It depends on badcock. It's, it's a pretty wild field. And we'll see how it goes. I can't wait to see the training camp roster. Everybody's saying no surprises and that's why I don't believe them. I just don't because Kevin Loews used to say, you know, expect loud noises, expect surprises and never anything happened. So obviously possible I missed something, but that's how I went about this one. My number five, I had Saudi Arabia over Argentina at the FIFA World Cup in 2022. Wild. Argentine obviously goes on to win the tournament, but Saudi Arabia beating Argentina in soccer is something that doesn't just happen. Like you know what I mean? It's historic. Yes. That result is not supposed to happen. It was a two-on victory in both teams opening match. Absolutely insane watching it.

33:11I remember watching that and thinking, well, I guess Messi is never winning a World Cup. Now obviously, you know, right at the ship and ended up winning that year. But just the fact that that matchup happened and that they won that game, crazy. So that comes into my number five. Yeah. My number five, again, listen, it's a lot less culture than decklands. But my number five is the 2023 AFC wild card game where the Jags beat the chargers and at half time the chargers were up 27 nothing. Oh, good. You're hurting. Brandon Staley was fired before getting on the plane. He might have been fired before they got to the locker room even. I remember like we had a big party for wild card weekend at our house. And by the way, do not let Declan intimidate you with his fancy. Please say he just watches a lot of different sports than I did. But he pronounces the Italian names very correctly, probably. And so that may throw you off. Don't let it. Yeah. So anyways, the Jags over the chargers giving Trevor Lawrence his only playoff victory. Love it. Great pick.

34:12So the fourth was Northern Illinois over Notre Dame in South Bend in 2024. They were 28 and a half point underdogs. They go in. They beat them 19 to 14. It was Notre Dame's only lost the regular season. They do end up going to the national championship game that year where they used to lose to Ohio State. But that game that was the year was supposed to all come together for Notre Dame. They did it. It did. roster. Yeah. I mean, they did make the Nadi. And they were again, right? Northern Illinois beating Notre Dame insane. So they look at them and asked them. They were weak. They absolutely look past them. And actually what's funny about that is Northern Illinois coach reach out to Marcus Freeman. And he said, Hey, like I'll let you know how we beat you so you guys can prepare better for the rest of the season. And it worked out. Oh, there you go. Okay. My number four. This is recency bias 100% this year's NBA finals. It was something else. It was really something that if you specifically think back to game four in New York, the hand

35:17of OG, what the hell happened? So yeah, Nick's winning. We all were talking about how like the champ was in the West. They're like, we don't give anybody in the East a chance, whatever. And then, well, the next way, okay, well, maybe this series will go a little longer. And then they end up just, you know, taking care of it very handedly, very quickly. My number three is Julianna Pena over Amanda Nunez at UFC 269. Amanda Nunez best female fighter ever. She had this run of dominance that was incredible. She hadn't lost in seven years. She had knocked out Ronda Rousey and Chris Cyborg and Holly Holm and just beat like everyone they put in front of her. She looked unbeatable. She looked like the best female combat sports athlete ever, which she is. But she just looked completely unstoppable. Julianna Pena, I'm going to let you guys in on a little secret. Not a very good fighter, but she went out there and she choked her out at UFC 269.

36:20I remember watching that one with my friends just looking around, being like, what did we just watch? How did this happen? So that comes into my number three. Okay. You know, we all like to talk about Rory before he won his Masters is like the big Masters Choker. You have the big one done in 2016. Jordan's beef had a five stroke lead going into the back nine on Sunday. I remember this. And then he went bogey, bogey and then put his drink, his, oh my goodness, his ball in the drink dropped and then put his ball in the drink again because he chipped it so poorly. He couldn't get it halfway over the water. No. Ultimately lost that Masters. I can't even remember who won. I just remember I remember being painful to watch. It was really bad like that is the like the blow up of blow ups and it happened on the first three holes of the back nine where you thought he was just going to cruise to the club. He had it made. It just stumbled. Greg Norman did that once too. Nick Faldow was crying. Nick Faldow was crying. Yeah. And Nick Faldow was winning.

37:21You got, you got to just focus on the next shot. You can't focus on your last shot. And he was focusing on the last shot a lot. Me things. So that's my number three. Okay. My number two is FDU, Farley Dickinson University over Purdue in the first round of the NCAA tournament in 2023, 16 over a one. I believe Purdue was the number one overall seed that year. Zach Cady had one like two college player of the years, seven foot four center, unguardable and big 10 play. And what's extra crazy about this is Farley Dickinson wasn't even supposed to be there. They got in on a technicality from winning the Northeastern Conference because Merrimack, I believe it was. They were not, it might not have been Merrimack, it was someone else, but they were not eligible because they had just transitioned from div two to div one. So Farley Dickinson got in on a technicality won their first round match and then beat the number one seed. Purdue Boiler. Before you go forward, I just want to confirm something. You made up Farley Dickinson, didn't you? No, there was no university in Farley.

38:23They are. And they had the biggest upset in college basketball history, beating Purdue. I still go back and watch the highlights. Farley Dickinson. Yeah. Okay. Put some respect on their name. It's not every day that Purdue is a 16 seed. I would. But I'm still not sure they're real. You know what everybody says? I'm sick and effentyred of losing a Purdue. My number two, I thought it was going to be number one and then I was like, well wait, I know what number one is. Super Bowl 52, Eagles over the Patriots. Oh my God, I love that. With backup quarterback Nick Foles. That was a run. You're Philly Philly and Pat or my goodness, Tom Brady has the most passing yards in a loss in Super Bowl history. All right. I'm the most passing yards ever in a Super Bowl game. It still loses. That was was he almost wanted at the end. Like yeah, we would have had to have the two point, but I don't care. Brady, I was always because I love Montana so much until that game, I was like, okay. And I know it was a loss.

39:23But Brady was when you're when you're about to win a Super Bowl and Brady's the quarterback you are in extreme pain because it's not going to end until the clock is absolutely zero. As seen the year before when he played against the Falcons and came back from the twenty seven three. Geez. That was peak Brady really. Yeah. By the way, just I looked at how farly Dickinson, 12,000 students and an endowment of a hundred and seven million, the U of A for reference, 44,000 students and an endowment of 1.7 billion. Farley. So very much real. Find number one, no question about this one, the giants over the paths and Super Bowl 42, 10 and six team as a wild card. They win the Super Bowl 17 14 against that undefeated historic Patriots team. Easy number one for is that the catch the was that the catch team? Yeah, that was I've never like I saw the Franco Harris Immaculate reception. That catch was maybe the one. Oh, damn it.

40:24I think it's the best catch in NFL. Yeah. And I'll tell you a fun stat about that catch David Tyree who is the player never caught another ball in the NFL, which I people keep telling me that I can't believe it because it like you'd think he'd be signed to a major contract somewhere and you know, do something. Yeah, he was a he was a career teamer. So man, God, the game. Pretty much. Incredible. That was a great. That was a great game and a great catch. Yeah, my number one, the 2016 NBA finals. You mentioned this quite often because it is probably the greatest upset ever. Three down three won in the NBA finals to the team that had the highest win in percentage ever. They won 72 and nine, right? Like, no, wait, that's wrong. 73 and nine. Oh, well, my apologies. I was like, I'm not getting for getting one to run my apologies. But like, the team was considered unstoppable. I get it. Dremel got suspended in the middle of the finals for kicking a guy in the nuts, which

41:26you should get suspended for. Let's be honest. But like to me, that is the craziest thing I've ever seen in my life. Wild stuff. I enjoyed that. Thanks. It was definitely his idea. No, but it was what I liked about it was it was very personal. I think we found out more about each of you, you know, during that period because it wasn't like, you know, it wasn't all NHL or all NBA or whatever. It was really varied and some of it pretty obscure, but certainly worthwhile. So 2016, big year for sports. Yep. Speed. What happened for that you loved in 2016? Well, I mean, also the Cubs won the, that's right. The World Series. I thought they'd have more sustain than they did that Cubs team. First Brian sort of fell off. Yeah, I really got hurt lots. Are we, have we completed? Yeah, I think that's it. Decline are we done? We absolutely are. Okay. All right. I want to read this from Bill. My big story for the audience is McDavid's plus minus.

42:28Want to see more defense. Well, you know, McDavid a couple of years ago had a 61% goal share at five on five, which is just like, it's pretty much impossible. 61% is, he did it one time previously in 1617. But he did 60, 90 goals for 57 against at five on five. And his most common lines that year at five on five were McDavid with Hyman and New Gen Hopkins. They finished plus 15 and McDavid with Hyman and Leon dry side all, finished plus 11 in less than 300 minutes. So you know, if Mike Babcock ends up putting Leon dry side on economy, David together and they play good defensively, could he exceed 62% that he did in 2324? I mean, the possibility exists and his, his, where am I here?

43:28Hold on. There we go. His all time number one goal share was 64.2 in 2324. And if he does that, then your second and third and fourth line just have to break even and you should be okay. That's not really something we would traditionally cover here. I think oil wise, we've kind of done our job. Yeah. Okay. I just want to make sure I know the river hawks have sent out to everybody they doing a survey. What can we do better? Love the river hawks. Such a well run organization. Would Elliott leave and what it should look like if they have to change it over? They've already hired round McLean. BXA and Friedman are still out there as free agents. And Kelly Rudy was told earlier that he's not part of the picture next year. Maybe they backtrack and bring Kelly Rudy back. We'll find out.
