5:09Dude, I gotta tell you, man, I gotta explain. I'm usually a very, very, I'm a very reasonable guy. I don't have a react. These kids, nice kids, they've been kicking field goals for a while, started thinking, we made eye contact literally. We made eye contact. I was like, okay, it's fine. But you know, like you guys are real close. Right. And then sure enough, like six minutes later, I just get drilled in the back of the leg. I'm like, what's going on, man? So anyway, I thought that was pretty funny. So that is funny. The way you turned around, if you turned around, like you were surprised, you knew that kick and field goals. So, you know, we gotta have to hit on the slew, I guess, huh? That's right. That's right. That's right. I mean, I will say this, man, that football, I still got a wilt on the back of my leg. Those things come in hard. So, I don't know why I had to start with that, but I just thought it was too funny. So, so quadrate, talk to us about, you know,

6:10this game last night, all sorts of things happened. What stood out to you? I mean, I just think like, for me, it's just the DNA of the team, right? It's just really a championship. You know, that's kind of what makes the team great, right? Whereas like, you have that championship, pedigree, where you've done this before. You've been in tough games, you've been in tough situations. And, you know, the quarter at locker room was still the same. So, these guys dug deep in. You know, when it was time to go make the plays, they made the plays. That's what championship football teams do. They find a way to win. Your vets leave the way and you play off them. One of the things I loved about this game, obviously, it's easy to love it the way it happened. But I talked to Josh Job when, like, after the season last year, we were kind of in the hallway. And he had kind of just, he wanted to pull me aside. Like, you know, you've asked me to do interviews. And I just always, I don't feel comfortable necessarily.

7:12I don't want to say the wrong thing. I'm like, dude, don't worry about it. We just talked for a while. We talked about free agency. He didn't know it was going to come up for him. We were kind of going back and forth. And, to then see him end up back and see that, I'll get resigned. To have him have that, even the passing or clearance penalty that turned into a touchdown early in this game. And then to call game on that final play. Gorgeous, gorgeous pick. Talk about for people that don't know Josh Job. How would you describe him as a player and as a person? I think for me, Job is like one of my favorite guys in locker room. As soon as I got there, it was like instant connection, right? Obviously, I didn't play with Joe there my first day. But obviously, him starting off with Philadelphia with Slay. He knew how close me and Dairy Slay is. I just clicked off the rip. You know what I mean?

8:13Job was one of those guys that he's so serious about his work. He's so serious about the things that he do. Loves the team, do any day for the team. He's one of those guys. Job has a side to him. That's a little different. That people don't know him. I think he's flipping to that role on Game Day. He's one of the sweetest moments because he'll go from like, to like that guy that he is on Game Day to like cracking a big smile. You know what I mean? That's just who he is. The person, but as a player, he's a competitor. All he wants to be a face-to-receiver. He's gonna go tackle. He's gonna do all the things that you want him to do with. He's never gonna give you any problems. He's gonna know what to do. Smart football player. And he listens and he wants to get better. So big fan of Josh Joe, I was so excited for him last night. I think you guys see like my tweet, you know, I think he might have been the only person that I tweeted about last night because I'm that excited for him because like he deserves it all.

9:15I saw Darius Slay also your guy tweeting about him. I mean, it seems like Josh has earned respect around the league. Yeah. No, of course. And I think it's just from hard work ethic and the person that he is each and every day. He doesn't change who he is every day and he's comfortable with who he is. He works with Tell off. He's gonna do whatever you need him to do. But you know, you just gotta make sure you're still in good side because he's one of those guys. Yeah, yeah. Well, it's it's actually bringing that up because there's different kind of corners in the game, right? There's just straight cover corners. But increasingly over the last few years, it feels like offenses have made cornerbacks defend the run. Like you've got to bow up against the run. And so Josh is he is a physical corner, man. I think one of his reps in the Super Bowl again, Stefan Diggs was one of the like most disrespectful reps. I love that rep.

10:16You know exactly what you're talking about. Yeah. He there and set the tone, bro. He's there to set the tone. Like he, I'm telling you guys, we were so shocked, right? Because in the Super Bowl, you remember Stefan, he punched Stefan D. And he came to the side and I wasn't like, what the, you doing, bro? You think I'm puny? I don't care. I'm seeing it push you, bro. And I have to, you know, but like that's what he is. He's such a like chill guy, but like he's different his brothers, right? He's physical. He loves the tackle. You know, get off blocks. All the attack stuff. He's for all of that. He has so many like, he has so many good tackles last night. You know what I mean? Well, like you want to see corners do it. That's what we expected. That difference. Well, the other part of that cornerback group or one of the other parts, and you might approach it. You and I have talked about him as well. And one of the things that I know that the coaches have wanted to see is more of the physical side from him.

11:16Like Mike McDonald, one thing he seems to just not tolerate is someone who's not a good tackleer at that position. You know, or any position really. And I thought, Neumaya, yes, he had the pick, which we can talk about. But I thought he had some nice tackles, had a physical game as well. I think he had a tackle for loss in this as well. When we talked about the show, maybe two or three episodes ago, I told you guys, I believed in him. I believed in him being that corner for the team off the roof. You know what I mean? Obviously, I wasn't at practice, not in MC, but for me, I know the type of player he could be, which is thinking in coverage. He can tackle. Obviously, he's not scared to tackle. He plays special teams, played Gunner, made a lot of big plays at Gunner and things like that. Let me just about the mindset, he's young, but I think Mighty was one of my game balls last night. He gets one of my game balls just because of, you know, showing up in a big time situation, big time game, doing exactly what he's supposed to do. And obviously some things he could clean up and I think they all clean up, but you know, I couldn't, you can ask what better start from him. I'm super excited for him. I think him and Joe, we talked about it.

15:24You know, me and the guy, a couple of guys talking about the last night, we're super excited for the host. I want to hear about your other game balls before I leave that open for you. You played safety pretty recently. And you saw Rodney Thomas, the new guy come in off the practice squad and fill in for Tio Cotta, who was a guy who, you know, Tio Cotta was the guy filling in for guys last year. And Rodney Thomas had the tip that led to that pick for Neymar Pritchett. What did you see from, from Rodney Thomas? I mean, I've seen a guy who's played a veteran, that's played football and I leave before. The moment was too big for him. You know, I mean, he made the plays that he was supposed to make. And when Out There did exactly what he was supposed to do. And I think for him, it's just a common presence, right? He's a veteran guy who's been out there. You know, you out there were other vets, right? You know, you out there were schooled. You out there were Joe, you out there with Jay Love.

16:25You know, those guys are the best too. So, you know, when you're a veteran guy, you know how to play football. He's played a lot of football and leave it. I think, you know, I think regardless, Michael always had the defense, skimmed up ready to go. He could ask him to step into their roles and do what they're supposed to do. So, back to those game balls. Neymar's given out game balls. Who's getting him from last night? I think if I'm going to start off upfront, you know, I mean, a guy who was super disruptive, you know, God had made some hell of a play. His chin and the well suit was outstanding to me. You know, a couple of plays where he knows he could play better. But some of the things he could do in last night, which is retro chinning when we got him in 2022. Just going and doing things like that. So, he definitely would get a game ball from me. I think a guy, people sleeping on, right? A guy, people sleeping on. He was all over the field making tacos, nothing right.

17:26He was everywhere in last night. And it's like he's the quarterback of that defense. But the place that he makes down the field, 10, 15 yards down the field, getting guys locked up is amazing. But I also think for me, you know, the best overall performance for me, you know, like, with Jay-la, he was phenomenal. But now, I think just the tempo, the tone that he sets for the team, the energy that he brings, I mean, you guys know like how cool and collected you is. But like, he plays, he plays with his hair on fire, and he's making those tacos. You know, I mean, he's getting everybody hyped up. And then obviously, Joe and Mighty, those guys played big last night. Play big and, you know, everybody was so worried about the corner room. Just let the guys settle in and let them do their thing. But, you know, Joe left from the front, Chen and left from the front, and EJ left from the front. So for me, the whole surprise would be my five on defense.

18:30And then, you know, obviously, I'm not surprised, though. You know, I mean, like, I'm not surprised. I've seen it with my own eyes and experienced it. I've seen him do it with me on the team. So like, I'm not surprised by Drew doing Drew things. Obviously, Jay is in, you know, Jackson's unbelievable. Every week, every game, every practice, it doesn't matter. Like, he's consistent in who he is, bro. That's just what he does. I just think he's phenomenal in that aspect. Obviously, obviously, I think, you know, you go look at it. I'm a big fan of great. I feel like great. I have a really good game. You're getting a lot of those runs, you know, you're running. You want to run towards him. You know, I mean, I think we started to get him out, running a little bit better than we finished him. But, you know, obviously, those guys, those are probably my game balls, obviously. So it's interesting.

19:31I want to come back. Let's talk about Drew for a second. Then I'm going to take us in a different direction related to your game balls. But I think everyone's heard, you know, from me, from a bunch, from John Schneider, from probably you, and a bunch of other people, what kind of guide Drew is? Like, he's just a great dude. Anyone that meets him, I think, likes him. And so that, I think that's pretty well known. I think people don't necessarily really know him as a player. And I think what they do know of them they think about as, you know, the guy that kind of had some starts and then turned the ball over a bunch and is now a backup. What do you think he does really well as a quarterback? I think Drew is just, he's always prepared, right? He's always prepared. He's always ready for any moment. But I think what makes Drew one of the better and like most important people on the team is just like, how collectively everybody rallies around him, right? And it's not just obviously, it's defensively.

20:33Everybody loves Drew. You know what I mean? Obviously, he had his moments in Denver, but obviously, he's grown from it. You know what I mean? When I was there, 2022, when was 2022, Drew came over, loved him, loved everything about 2022. In 2023, right? We would area, yeah. And that's my god. Me and Drew will literally sit in EK's office and just talk trash to each other and just, they'll just talk ball. You know what I mean? I think that's what make him so special is like, he knows how to bring people together. And when it's his time of shine, he always goes and does. So that's what that's really what makes Drew special in the person that he is also, you know what I mean? Because he actually cares about his teammates and he was one of the first people that I got back last year. You know, just come up that, me and like, bro, I'm so happy you're back. I just missed you and I feel like, you know, we could have used you to come back. So, love Drew and like I'm not surprised what he did.

21:33He goes and he just held up his business every time he gets his shot. So, a little twist on your game balls here. PFF is obviously, you know, it's been all over the place and I know because I've talked to a lot of you guys. People do pay attention even if they don't always agree with it and they want to know. So, grades are in for last night's game. And let's see which of the grades agree with your game balls and which don't. So, number one graded Seahawk from the game last night on defense. Julian Love had a 90 overall grade, which is all pro or essentially that level is 90 and above. Neomy Pritchett second highest graded player 80.7 grade 80 and above's essentially proble level. Josh Job third highest graded player at 77, Buchananuosu fourth highest player at 76.7 and then it goes to Rodney Thomas at 74.9,

22:36Riley Mills. I want to talk about him in a second 74.7 Leonard William 72.6. So, those were all the guys over 70. Ernest Jones the lowest graded player of the players that had at least, you know, 10 snaps. He had a 45.1 grade. So, what do you, what do you make of that man? That's just the, you know, I get it, you know, it's hard out there is when EJ doesn't have the splash plays, right? Because I think PFF and the splash play name, you don't have a couple splash plays, your grades are going to be in the 40s, right? I remember, you know, when I was playing, I would have freaking 42 grades and I would grade out 100 or 99 in the room because I how I did was do my job. You know, I mean, I did my job, nobody tried it. And I think, well, EJ, you're saying nobody really tried, you know, him, he has tackles down the field,

23:37he was all over the field, he was physical, he took on blocks, but I don't, you know, I don't buy into that, but obviously I'm not a big fan of PFF, having been, you know, for a long, long time. And I've made that very honest to them, to whoever asked me, but I feel like you don't have splash plays, they don't really take into account. I mean, Leo had a sack, Riley had a sack. Obviously, Mighty had interception, June had interception, Joe had interception. You know, I mean, those are splash plays, but splash plays don't come in, right? And it's like, what if I'm just going out there and doing my job? And I'm doing what I'm supposed to do, and I'm in the right spot every time I'm in. Good guys, adjust to do we not account for that? Like 40. If EJ got a 40, I can guarantee you, if I was to get the grades right now, EJ's grade is not a 42. I mean, yeah, yeah, I totally understand that concept. And so I'm curious for you,

24:44how do, how does the grading process go for you guys in the locker room? Do you literally get a grade or how does it work? Yeah, we get a grade sheet out there every game. We get a grade sheet. Everybody's name is on the grade sheet. It starts off with positives, and then it goes to negative. So if you have tackles, interceptions, TFLs, sacks, maybe use great efforts, and then it goes to bust mental errors, touchdowns, mistackles, loaths, whatever it is. That's an array, but I've never ever ever seen anybody grade with a 40. If they grade with a 40, they will pull them in the middle of the game. You know what I mean? So that's why I just I'm not a PFF guy. You're going off.

28:34there? And then he threw out of coverage, I'm just like, well, that's not right. I think for me, you don't know what God is running and that just has changed weeks to week. Who's in PFF has been in Mike's defense? I guarantee you there's nobody that's great at PFF that can go in there and learn his defense. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I like Mike talked about the fact that this is a new team, new year, you know, new they're not the same team, they're not going to go through the same process. Obviously, that's already true. We'll talk about some of the things that change. But when you watch the defense, there are some things that stood out to me as different. Yeah. But well, let me call those out. So first of all, Tyrese Knight's out there. They're playing more base defense than the CX played last year. They were like almost exclusively nickel. And with Tyrese Knight, he was playing more, it was a little bit more in the first half than the second half.

29:38And then, you know, they didn't play any dime. Pretty much all game. They played, they played a ton of dime, almost 50% dime in the Super Bowl against the Pats. They played no dime against them in this game. I'm sure there were other defenses, other differences. But I'm curious to your eyes, what stood out is maybe a little different than last year. I mean, obviously, those are big ones. I think, obviously, when you have a guy like Nick, you know, you can do a lot of different days, right? So not having him, obviously, that changes the dynamic of how we call it, please. I think also you look into it, right? This is Rodney Thompson's first game as a CEO. So in the back hand, this is Mighty's first start, really, as a corner, right? So in the back hand, I am going to kind of be, you know, I'm going to kind of be a little bit vanilla, you know, let guys get their feet under them and let things go and then let my guys up front, right? Because these are the most, that's the most experienced group right now. So I think with Mike, obviously, you know, you start

30:43the game and you get a feel for how it is. I think a lot of people say spoon blitzing, right? But you got to think half of those blitzes that spoon highlights, like those would have been, some of those would have been Nick blitzing, right? So it wouldn't look like all spoon is doing this blitzing, right? So I think a lot of people kind of get, you know, forget that, hey, Nick plays that role too when spoon goes outside. So it won't just always be spoon blitz. It'll be Nick. It'll be him filling those things and doing those different things too. So I think a lot of people get confused with that. But, you know, defense list, the first game of the year, obviously, you don't want to do too much. Like I told you guys before, Mike has made it clear to us, like, hey, like he made it clear to us, like, maybe I did too much, you know what I mean? Maybe I need to tell it down. So I think he just wanted to see his team play the defense fly around the ball. And I'm sure he's, he's happy with the effort. He's going to spend more of them, you know, when they play a pair of zone in a few days,

31:44in 10 days, whatever. So one thing I'm kind of wondering about, everybody talks about the extra play, Nick, all the time last year. That's partly I'm wondering, just Nick is, when Nick's in there, he plays linebacker, he plays nickel, he plays dime, he plays edge at times, right? And so are there time like it? Were they really playing different amount of base last night from your perspective when like Ty Reese is on there or people just miscategorizing it last year? Because there was times that that Nick was in there, but he was actually playing the same position that Ty Reese night was playing. That's what's the thing. That's why I say, think about PFF trying to grade that right? How do you grade where Nick is, right? You don't know what position he's playing. Nick who is he playing linebacker? Is he playing in? Is he playing corner? Because he lies about sightless. You don't know where he is, right? So I think last night, it would just get some

32:49rubs in the base, but you also got to think, right? New England is a 21 personnel. They ran 21 personnel, 21, I mean, two backs and one tight end, right? So you got to get bigger sometimes for those formations when you don't have Nick, right? Who's safety nickel linebacker, right? And I look at Nick more of a utility guy, right? He's not really a safety to me. He's a nickel and he's a guy that can do everything, right? Because he's not your typical big, you know, big guy can't move like he's covering slots and he's doing all that thing stuff. So I think you got to think about and then you see it on hard knocks where Mike is said, like, miss it losing this guy is a big blow to our game plan, right? Because I can do so much with him. So I just think last night was kind of more basic, right? We had a couple of days that were exotic that things have been in that you only get to a certain formations. But I think, you know,

33:54I think it'll it'll tickle about as the year continues to go on. So you talked about that on the offensive side. One thing we haven't talked about yet is the new the new kid back there in the backfield, Jadarian Price. Your first your first chance to watch him play or or did you see him in college at all? I say them a little bit, I know today in his crazy, right? He he wears a, but I told my wife this before the game. Oh, him and K9 dressed the same out there, like they just look the same in the uniform. And it's like, you see him get some of those carries and it's like, damn, now my thing is, like, we got him going early, right? We got him going early, we got him some carries, yes, like I want to see him touch the rock. And obviously you want to get the rook, you know, you don't want to, you know, you don't want to kill him in the first game. But I want to see him get some touches and get loose. You know, you don't see the breaker way stuff, right? Because that's the only thing that I know K9

34:56brought to the table. That was at any play. It could be a house call, right? But I'm definitely excited for the rook and I just realized last night, he's a Texas boy. So I'm even a bigger fan, right? I think my guess is Texas, I'm your biggest fan. You know what I mean? So, excited to see him go, you know, hopefully I'll be able to meet him and, you know, excuse myself and to tell him, I'm a fan and I want him to be great. So what you're in a game like this and I mean, you start the game out, first game of the season, I mean, really any game, but especially the first game of the season. And Sam goes down, you're starting quarterback goes down first series. I mean, were you with Sihox when Russell got hurt that first game? I think it was either Aaron Donald or an adonicon sue or someone stepped on. Oh, no, not a first game. I was there when Russ messes figure. Okay, that was a different season. But like, I mean, I just have to imagine

35:56when when your starting quarterback goes out, it's not like anybody else going out. How does that, like how did the defense handle it? What's the conversation? Is there any conversation? You just stay focused on what you're doing and don't even bring it up. I think it's different, right? Because now defensively, I can tell you this from being there and, you know, obviously, I was still all my God. The defense, you know, like when we won the NMC championship and Mike said, like, we don't care. The defense literally doesn't care, bro. Trust Mike so well that he's going to put us in the right spots defensively that eventually we're going to make a play and wear guys down. And, you know, the interceptions are coming. TFL is coming. We get guys off track. So I think defensively, I think guys really don't care to that extent. Obviously, you want your start quarterback. But it's like, hey, we got to keep going out there. Let's go put off put on the throw. You know what I mean? It, I just kind of think that's what it is. But it definitely does change things. Obviously, right?

37:01You got to think you got a first year coordinator, first time calling plays. You know, starting quarterback who's taking all the reps all week, those are the first series. Drew didn't get any reps. So as you can see, the thing that changes is that I think they'll work on this week if Drew is having to play, right? Just the tempo in and out the hotel, right? Because a lot of times we caught in last night where it was, you know, they break in the huddle. It's nine seconds on the clock. And when you got a lot of chips, motion things like that, then the clock, because of the problem that as you can see when we had opportunity on the four-year line, it's second and one or whatever. And you go back, you know what I mean? So those are the things that kind of changes the floater game in and out the huddle, the tempo, things like that. Those are the things that really change because now, you know, your first year offer coordinator is talking to Drew who obviously he's talked to, he's communicating with, but obviously is not Sam. You know what I mean? So I think that'll be something that they'll be working on. Yeah, that did seem to come up.

38:05And I wanted to ask you about your impressions of Brian Flurry and his first game play, Colin ever and first for the Seahawks obviously, but I never know in those situations, a lot of those stuff that happened was red zone. There was actually three different times. Seahawks got some procedural pre-snap penalty in the red zone. And people are like, oh man, Drew Locke. And I'm like, I could've just as easily been Brian Flurry getting the play, Colin to late, maybe overthinking something, maybe whatever. And then Drew's got less time to get out of the huddle. How do you kind of think those things play out? Obviously, you've been in a defensive side. And then I got a different question to ask you about how it affects you guys, but on the defensive side. But like what's your assumption in that situation? What's going on? Why was late? I think it was just mixture of both, right? New play power, first time play collar, want to get the perfect call. Knowing that I have my backup quarterback in, so do I want to be aggressive? Do I want to be conservative? Some of those type of things, but also think Drew's event. So

39:13I'm tired that Andrew, here you go, bro. That's how I think. If I had a younger guy, Mill Row, I definitely want to be more conservative. But I think Flurry did that at the beginning. I mean, that's the second quarter. All through the first half, I think it was kind of conservative. Like, let's, what's the name? Let's just let the defense play this out and do this. But I think he got a little bit more aggressive with Drew in the second half. But it could be a mixture of both, right? Drew, you know, longer call. Some of the calls are longer. Like I said, it shifts motion. You see, you know, always motion. You see Jack's moving. See Jack's in the backfield. You know, those calls get longer and things like that. So I think it was just a mixture of both, but I'll tell you this. Mike won't be happy about all abilities. I could tell you that because hundreds could have cost us the game last night. We're being completely honest. You don't want to do that. But I think that's just a mixture of first game

40:14and also losing your starting quarterback where it differentiated. Russian snaps, Russian out the huddle with those different days. All that stuff can be cleaned up. It wasn't a lot of, I didn't see a lot of, you know, really personal appearances and holdings and things like that. It's still back and definitely be cleaned up. I think they'll do that over the next 10 days. What do you think from a defensive perspective? Mike talks about that the style play that they want to play is just to really put the other side of the ball on their heels. And they want to play with pace. They want to move quickly. How much doesn't matter from a defensive standpoint? Like how much does that have any effect? Whether an offense is getting in and out of the hell quickly, whether they're waiting all the way to the end of the play clock. Does that have any real impact on on the defensive side of the ball? No, I just think when you play with tempo, when you play with tempo like that, you get it out of the huddle and guys are like, getting lined up. It is like as a defense, it's like, okay, I got to get, I got to get this call,

41:19mind my shell, I'm not in my shell. Because when you play with tempo, when you get on the ball, you might not even snap it. But guys, thinking you're about to snap it, if you're not paying attention to play clock and things like that, then you start to show what coverage your shell starts to fade. And so for defenses, I'm not getting my feet set, so I'm not comfortable, so I'm just coming in and doing my job. Now that's just telling that quarterback exactly what I'm going to do. When you come out the huddle slower, I can hold it shell. I can hold it shell because now I know the play clock, you got to get ready to snap the ball, because you only got eight seconds on the clock. You know what I mean? So it definitely makes a difference. And then just your general thoughts, anything that stood out to you about the way Brian Flory called that game? No, I think as normal, my back and quarterback in, I need to let him get his feet wet, take the easy completions, let's let our defense handle it. Obviously, I got a defense head coach. I don't need to do too much. I have a really good defense. Let me just kind of,

42:24you know, be vanilla, get his feet wet and let him get settled in before I start calling plays, you know, to, you know, kind of get aggressive. You know what I mean? And I think it would have been a different game, and Sammy D would have been, would have been healthy. I can, I can, I believe that not trusted. So a couple of things that that came up, I've done some digging already about just, I mean, obviously, it's one week, but it's all we got. I wanted to see some, maybe some things that might be different from last year. And so I compared some numbers between this game, between the Siox and Patriots and the Super Bowl, as well as what this 2025 averages were for the Siox. A couple of things I'm going to throw to you and you tell me if any of them are interesting. So one, the, the Siox played a pre-snap look of middle of the field open, 78% of the time in this game. That was down from 90% of the time in the Super Bowl and 85% of the time for last year.

43:29They left the middle field open 64% of the time. So basically, what this means is, is they rotated after the snap, they disguised their coverage, 31% of the time versus 41% in the regular season last year. And I'm curious, like, is that, do you, do you think that there's anything to that? Is that, you know, you got Tio Cotta and Nicki Minaj out? Are they adjusting to maybe new people and they don't want to do as much disguise? If you talk about Mike saying sometimes, he puts too much, how much do kind of, you know, rotated coverage's factor into how you guys play defense? I think last night what you've seen was a lot of nickel and safety blisters, right? So I think what I say is just for me watching, right? Ju Show Blitz, which you got to, if you're going to be, you know, showing Blitz, he has to be in a single high, you know what I mean? So Ju Show Blitz, this phone comes opposite, and you would see Spoon do the opposite and Ju would come and write. So I think a lot

44:30of that is just off the play call in last night, how we want to do, you know, I guess I feel like Mike and I know just Super Bowl last year, we didn't feel like they picked up nickel and safety pressures well. So that was something that we wanted to attack. So I think in that aspect, yes, I think it's just maybe outlier and, you know, because everything that you want to do, you want to base it off the two high show, because it makes everything look the same, but we are going to, you know, blister, nickel, safety, and things like that, that is definitely got to come from a single high. So when you look at the Patriots, and I know this is like, we're focusing on the Seahawks, but Drake May was runner up for MVP last year, you know, the ad AJ Brown, who unfortunately he goes down and apparently was in a walk and boot after this game, and they kind of redo their offensive line. It seemed like their offensive line held up a little bit better than it did, but you tell

45:32me if you feel otherwise. But what do you make of that team? You know, do you think the Seahawks just are a really tough match for anybody, or do you think maybe that team was a product of the schedule that they had last year? Oh, me personally. I think they're average to good team. I think offensive schedule helped last year. The schedule helped that they had last year. I mean, they had to eat your schedule and get NFL last year, and they held a business like they were supposed to do. I do think the offensive line did play better, but also think defense alive for Seattle. You know, it just got to get there, get their timing, right? I see a lot of, you know, stunts, mistime stunts, too many rush lanes, open things like that. So, you know, once the D-line

46:33get back and sink and start doing the things that they know how to do, play off each other, do all that. And I think it would be worse if they played them later in the year, right? Because those guys, the D-Lawks, the Jayree, the Chennas, the Halls, those guys get going, you know what I mean? The B-L was those guys, you know, you can watch last night where a lot of time they're running into each other on stunts. You know, he was messing up the rush lanes and things like that. So, it sucks that AJ got hurt because obviously I'm a big fan of AJ. I think he's one of the better receivers in the league. I think Drake May is just still young, you know what I mean? And we quit the crowd on people a little too early for him. He had a good year last year. And, you know, we crumped the God-star crowning, right? He's self-FVP and things like that. I think he just has a little bit more learning to do. But I just think they're solid team. I don't

47:34think they're anything spectacular. I think they played hard for Brave-U. But I think at the same time, you know, I think. I don't see how they play Seattle 10 times, Seattle win nine times. I mean, that's just honestly how I feel about it. Did you see Romeo Dobbs try to tackle after the interception? Did you see that clip? I mean, you got a Guardian cap. I think you should you should give better effort than that. You got a Guardian cap on. The mind will be physical while not. It was a corner where? Oh, there's some funny, there's funny tweets about that last night. I'm sure you saw some of them. Quadrat last thing I'll ask you. You know, actually, if you got anything, let me know. But we talk about Chen a briefly. I just I got to come back to him because this guy is criminally unrated, man. He's so good. And I admit, I look at him sometimes and like he's not necessarily the biggest dude, but God, he's strong. Man, he plays with such strength. And he is like his ability to defend the run. I think people just don't understand how special

48:40he is as a run defender. And then he also can rush the pass or he's just he's a great guy, great leader. And man, I think I think his his outfit last night was my my first pick. He's sharp. What do you think about him as a player? Big fan big fan. I didn't know much about Chen when we signed him, right? You know, much about Chen when we signed him. One of my been friends, Adrian Phyllis played with him and with the chargers. Can't say say Diego, can you know how I mean? I got to say chargers because they was little he was there with both. But I mean, he just say he's a ball player. But when you see him, I think you guys remember that first year he had. He was out best defensive player. And he played his tell off. And then, you know, have have injury bug. Right. injury bug hit him and just think people kind of forgot what he did or does when he's healthy. And it's not saying that it's a bad thing because you got to deal with all

49:46you have to boy a you got to deal all. You know, you have those guys too. So, you know, Chen kind of got lost in the mix. But now that he's healthy, bro, he's back to band himself. You guys see what he's doing like Ryan game, past game. He's doing it all right. And I think that's what makes him so special. Right. He's just he's a all around good football player. You find those type of guys you figure out a way to keep them. And I think he's going to have a tremendous year this year. And long as he stays healthy, he's going to be a big part of this. Big believer in Chen and I think it kind of gives him more, you know, gives more past rush too because, you know, we're actually losing boy a you lose a guy who pressured a lot, right. Boy a guy pressured no matter what you say about sax and he's pressured to quarterback. And now Chen is taking over more of a role of past rush head and also play the run again. You got D. Hall. Then you got D. Law and then you got

50:48foul right. You got you got a solid group. So big fan of Chen. What do you have any questions for us this week? I ain't got nothing. I ain't got nothing. You know, I kind of got to let the game marinade a little bit. You know, I'm more of a guy. I want to keep seeing stuff. See how stuff it is. But, you know, I definitely was calling out plays last night. It was it was it was awesome. Kind of love watching as a fan for a little bit. Yeah. Not being a player, right? I think that's the thing when you lose Sam, right? Some of those plays that you have for Shaheed, they kind of get taken out and put in the back burning. But, um, obviously, want to see Shaheed get the ball a little bit more explosive. He can definitely bring a different elements in offense. Last question is the most important question. I don't know if you saw the clip of, uh, Byron and some of the other guys talking about their favorite movies and, uh, Byron getting a lot of, a lot of love for being a, uh, a movie addict. So one, what's your take on lioness so far? I know you started it. And then two, I want, I want your top. You can give me your top three movies. Lioness has been great. First of all, big great. 1:03:28like it's like you can what I'm learning is like you can get the scan and it can tell you it's a thing and tell the guys back plan you don't know until how long it's going to be. So for me to give you a timeline right now we're still trying to figure out what the best like you know prognosis is but hip is intact and it's good and it's more of like a muscle thing. Don't send it to a muscle yeah muscle thing. Okay so that's good. That's a good news. Now how long that is I don't we don't know yet but really really good news. So I'm really happy for Sam that's good but it is painful now. Has it been an easy night form? All right so that was Mike McDonald on with Brock and Salk earlier this morning saying quote you know it's a more a muscle thing as opposed to a bone or a tendon or something like that or cartilage and then also that it's really really good news.

1:04:33You know but he also said the praying for him that he's in pain and they don't know when he's going to be back. After that or right around the same time when that came out we got a tweet from Ian Rappaport. Ian Rappaport said well where did it go? I had this before. I will look it up if I was a little bit better prepared I thought it was going to be right in front of me. Okay so he says Sam Donald is expected to miss next week's game against Arizona but he should be back sooner rather than later sources say it could be just a few weeks with 17 days from Wednesday until their week three game against the commanders. Donald gets a schedule break as well. So that's kind of where things go you know assume he's not playing against the Cardinals. Start hoping that maybe he's back against the commanders and then that's when the the Sam return watch begins.

1:05:40You have to hope that the Seahawks can take care of business in Arizona. I don't assume everyone's like ah it's easy. I don't assume any game is easy. I just don't. I just do not assume and you're playing with a backup quarterback. I think Drew played well enough to win last night. Let's just see a full week of practice. Let's get him ready. Let's have him go ball out. That would be great. Get to 2 and 0 and then go into Washington and we'll figure that that game when we get there but that's a game where your defense should be able to get after the quarterback with Jeremy Tunsell out. They're left tackle out and that offensive line in trouble. The Seahawks should be in good position for that one as well. Don't know when Tio Cotta will be back. The hamstring will be going there be a Mike McDonald presser later today. Don't know if he's usually pretty tight-lipped about injury stuff. I would expect Nicki Minaj to be a realistic candidate to play against Arizona next week. I don't know again. I don't know about Tio Cotta. That one seems a little more

1:06:44iffy and when you've got guys like Rodney Thomas and DeAnthony Bell and AJ Finley all available. I don't know that they're going to rush Tio Cotta back from hamstring injury which if you don't take care of properly and really get ready to go that can be something that just sticks with you all season. My best guess is Tio Cotta won't be back but that's not based off of any information I have other than just my experience with how teams have handled this kind of stuff over the years. Other things. This is kind of minutia stuff but I did think that the Seahawks active list and inactive list was interesting yesterday. One of the things that stood out to me was that you had Mike Morris on the inactive list. This guy had been a core special team's player for years and he's in the last year of his deal and for him to be inactive meant somebody or

1:07:45some buddies had to jump him in the special teams depth chart essentially and three guys were active yesterday that got my intention well well more than three but three in particular Patrick O'Connell Chaz Serrat Conno Toul these guys were all active yesterday they're all core special teams guys. I think that's of note I think the Conno Toul one especially as it relates to Mike Morris. Then Julian Neil was active yesterday. That was surprising to me. A guy that has not played a padded rep you know in training camp or a preseason game as a rookie being active that that was surprising to me and he played on special teams as well. 1:08:53impressive like large muscular cornerback like he is he's almost like a linebacker. I mean he is a strong dude broad shoulders he's not built like a lot of other corners and I mean he's very confident eager to get out there as you you'd expect. I am really curious where he's going to fit in things. I've kind of put him in this developmental category but developmental means that you're usually not active like Bryce Cable-Due and Mason Richmond were examples of developmental last year Jared Ivy and Connoir O'Toole were examples of developmental last year. Most of the time those guys were not on the active roster but they were on the 53. I thought Julian might be in that category the fact that he was active for week one has my attention at least I'm curious where that's going to go and if it's going to lead to you know real potential for reps on the field. Other guys that were active that was interesting

1:09:58Montori Foster Jr. not a shoot shock he was active and then Avery Smith the new cornerback who they just traded for was active and some of the guys that were inactive I mean really only a couple were interesting Nick Calerap was inactive I thought that was interesting and then we already talked about Mike Morris. Jalen Milrose in active as well which meant he was in emergency third quarterback position but it also meant that there's not going to be any Jalen Milrose packages and the implication there from what Brian Flurry said before is Jalen Milrose has to prove himself ready to be a quarterback before they're ready to put him on the field to do any of these specialty packages and so I think that's going to factor into when he's on the active list or not and clearly that was he was not quite ready for that from the team's perspective last night.

1:10:58A few other things I've got a bunch to go through but we've already been here for a while. I've got so many numbers I'm going to be pouring over for a while but I mean one of the things to keep in mind maybe the most important thing to keep in mind. The Seahawks have 11 straight games tied for the franchise record and over those 11 games they're leading the NFL and turnover margin. This is after they had been 27th in turnover margin through week 11 last year right we've talked about this they continued this streak they now have a streak of five straight games since wake week 18 of last year without turning the ball over zero giveaways for five straight games and that's with a backup quarterback coming in who drew lock love drew lock I will just the facts or the facts

1:11:58over the course of his career he has only had one season where he had more than a plus one differential between touchdowns and interceptions what does that mean you know if you have five touchdowns and four interceptions that's plus one right if you have 20 touchdowns and 19 interceptions that's plus one so he's only had one season where he's had greater than a plus one margin from touchdowns to interceptions and that was his rookie year in 2019 when he had seven touchdowns and three interceptions so he is very susceptible and very susceptible to turning the ball over and for him to go into this game and not turn the heat he almost threw one to Christian Gonzalez Christian Gonzalez ended up you know not being able to make the catch but that could have been one and I think that was a key to this game if if if drew lock had turned the ball over once

1:12:59the sea ox don't win this game and they didn't so now the sea ox over the last five games when they have zero giveaways they have 11 takeaways 11 takeaways and including three in each of the last two games again both against the Patriots so interestingly were plus three in turn over margin in the Super Bowl they won that game rather easily they were plus three in the turn over margin in this game they barely got it at home so I think there's a lot of extenuating service circumstances that led to that but turnovers will continue to be a massive indicator of whether a team the sea ox in particular are going to win by the way Mike McDonald has still never lost a game as a head coach when his team does not turn the ball over undefeated when they do not turn the ball over so I think that is worth being aware of a little fun number I pulled up

1:14:05the sea ox in the fourth quarter had three straight interceptions the final three dot drives for the Patriots all ended in an interception the first one on that tipped pass from Rodney Thomas to Neymar Pritchett second one to Julian love and then obviously Josh Job's final interception this was the only time in sea ox history at least well at least through 1999 we don't have the data to do the search properly before then that the sea ox have ended a game where their opponent had three straight interceptions on their last three possessions we've no have no record of the sea ox ever doing that in a game also it was the first time that the Patriots offense ended a game with three straight interceptions since 2001 when Tom Brady actually threw four interceptions in the fourth quarter including three straight to end the game so yeah
