Cristina's Coopie jar.
Now it's time to go inside.
Cristina's Coopie jar.
So let's talk about
slash of guns and roses.
Hell yeah.
Iconic guitarist.
Iconic look.
You don't even, I mean, you see his top hat, you know,
immediately that is slash from guns and roses.
Also does he have eyes?
We could never know.
Who could know?
But you're right.
It's iconic.
The silhouette alone.
You know who it is.
Absolutely.
Well, he apparently is also a filmmaker and I had no idea.
So he opened up a production company back in 2013.
That was his, it's called Slasher Films.
He did his very first movie,
produced his first movie called Nothing Left to Fear.
He's done about three movies since then.
He's helped produce some music videos, stuff like that.
And I believe he took a break between then
because guns and roses did go back on tour.
They are going to be here in September, I believe.
Hell yeah.
Also playing at the Miami Grand Prix,
as well.
I saw that this morning.
But he had some new horror flicks debut
at the South by Southwest Film Festival just this past weekend.
And one of them was like made number one
in Rolling Stones looking forward to films or films to look to.
Look forward to.
One of them is a documentary called Black Zombie.
And it explores the origins of the zombie character.
So right up your alley skin.
Yes.
And another one that again Slash has produced
is a Canadian indie horror feature called Sundown.
And this is a vampire film that follows three generations of women
seeking revenge in a remote cabin.
Oh, let's go.
They both sound fantastic.
Yeah.
I just, I can't believe that Slash has been producing films all this time
and I had no idea.
Pretty cool, man.
Very cool.
I mean, there's obviously a crossing over
of the music industry and the film industry.
So it kind of makes sense.
You brought up Rolling Stone,
having it be one of the films I want to see.
Did you guys see who's on the cover of the new Rolling Stone?
No.
It is Big X The Plug.
All right.
On the cover.
And it was written by a guy named Eric.
I think his last name is Proud's Diepp.
But he was the Dallas Observer Music Editor.
No.
And he just left that job.
But he got the cover story on Rolling Stone,
writing about Big X The Plug.
Wow.
I saw a bunch of people that posting on Instagram
going to one of his shows.
And it just looked like people go into like a country show.
Like, which is cool,
that he's managed to cross over and appeal to a bunch of people.
I haven't read the article yet,
but I saw some of the excerpts,
you know, that were floating around online.
And he's talking about that.
And I know he did stuff with Shibuzy.
And he did that whole album,
actually, where it's him with a bunch of country artists.
And in the quote I saw was he was like,
people need to stop thinking about themselves.
As I'm just a rapper, he's like,
Beyonce, just one, you know, country awards.
Like you need to make a big deal out of all of this.
Like do everything that you can.
Don't pigeonhole yourself.
Do you think, yeah, exactly.
Do you think you can get him as a guest?
I thought I could a year ago.
But now it's on the cover.
I think it would be difficult.
I used to be able to have like some
text exchanges with his management,
but I can't imagine they would return my text now.
No, but everybody who knows him loves him.
I interviewed him for a Mav game.
And he was super nice and super funny.
His dad's a huge map because he grew up,
I think Pleasant Grove, his dad was a huge Mav fan.
He was super nice.
And I had gone to one of his shows and like met him backstage,
but I can't imagine who.
I mean, he's he does prize picks, for example.
Oh, yeah,
I see one of those commercials.
Yeah, I mean, he's he's a huge star now.
He also has a fortnight song.
I think it's like a celebratory song.
That's my celebratory song.
Is that right?
I love it.
His voice is speaking of iconic.
You know who it is.
Immediately.
I love this voice.
Another local Dallas musician
who has a movie coming out at South by Southwest.
It's a whole documentary.
It's Charlie Crockett.
It's called a cowboy in London.
And they just follow him around for a week.
He has three sold out shows in London and just,
hey, this is what,
what it's like in the life of a musician
who's sold out three shows in London.
This is what he does.
He, man, concert doc,
that guy worked his ass off.
Yeah.
And he's been cranking albums.
I mean, he used to busk around town.
And now he's that,
I mean, that's that's really great.
Good for him, man.
I like Charlie Crockett.
He's got his own he's got his own lane.
A lot of movies to look forward to.
Yeah, good stuff.
Yeah, thank you, Christina.
All right, there you have it.
There's the cookie jar.
