Lack of power! Sam and Al discuss life in recovery. Step 11 Readings from “Opening Doors Within” by Eileen Caddy and Alcoholics Anonymous Big Book. #12steps #recovery #addiction #AA #CA.
On the sun, morning and morning you can repeat the morning where, morning inish, morning
broad.
I've had one smile.
It was March the 3rd for making new tours within.
You must be prepared for one and a full changes to take place in the new age.
If you can accept them and simply absorb them like a piece of blotting paper, the changes
will come about, within and along you in great peace and harmony.
You will find that you will change with the changes without being digitally affected
by them, and that you will live and move and breathe in them as you naturally as fish.
As a fish does in water, you'll be able to accept your new environment and become
perfectly adjusted to it without any strung.
A child moves from kindergarten to primary and from primary to secondary school without
any difficulty because it takes it all in its strung and moves forward step by step,
accepting each new subject and adjustment as it comes.
It could not be moved straight from kindergarten to secondary, but it would be completely lost.
Do not be concerned, I will not move you too swiftly, or is it in my perfect timing.
That's a bit like we're saying yesterday, you know, if you do the whole of the steps,
you can have a spiritual awakening.
You don't go through one for twelve.
Some people try it, don't they?
One in twelve.
One in twelve.
Yes.
You know, it doesn't work like that.
You know, it's a gradual, spiritual awakening, it's a gradual experience.
An awakening doesn't mean we're awakened when we get to twelve.
It means we're still awakening, I'm still learning things, new things are coming up.
You can't get everything at once, and you know, one of our Freyland's great sayings
was, you know, the best is yet to come and more will be with you, and we can't have everything
at once, but a bit like blotting a pelper, just absorb what we can when it happens, when
you learn something.
And for me, I've absolutely know for certain, some of the things that I've been through,
especially in AA, that I've learned from, I've really gone and used my experience to
help someone else.
So you know, it's in the wakeening, it's the learning, it's, I think it's a constant
movement.
It's not static.
It's, it's, you know, you always have to have this sort of movement, otherwise you get
in a stagnant.
Unfolding is pretty good, because you're not really kind of wrapping things apart.
You know, you're careful unfolding, so that there is a continuity to the, you there,
and then you unfold.
Yeah.
And I think as long as it's, you know, you're moving in the right direction.
I, I know, you know, throughout my recovery journey that I have, at periods where I have
been stuck.
And that's okay, because I'm questioning things.
I think that's quite healthy, because luckily I came up with the right answers, and it's
in its above is, you know, there's some things that I, I didn't agree with, and I was cross
and I was angry.
And that's okay, because, as I said, I learnt from that experience.
I dealt more deeply into the traditions.
And it's not perfect.
Nothing is ever perfect.
That we can make progress.
What chapter of the album?
Chapter four, page four to five.
Are you even as long as it's mastered by the world, we're not sufficient.
The field, Italy, lack of power.
That was our dilemma.
We have to find a power by which we can live.
We have to be a power greater than ourselves, obviously.
But we don't however we can find this power.
Well, that's exactly what this book is about.
Its main object is to enable you to find a power greater than yourself, which will solve your problem.
That means we have written about which we believe to be spiritual as well as moral.
And it means, of course, that we're going to talk about God.
Here, difficulty arises with diagnostics.
Many times we talk to a new man who works with hope rises.
We discuss his alcoholic problems and explain our feelings.
That is face falls when we speak of spiritual matters, especially when we mention God.
For we have reopened a subject from man thought he had neatly evaded or entirely ignored.
We wanted to create power in us.
That one isn't a lack of power.
That was our dilemma.
So no human power.
Our needed power wasn't there.
Our human resources failed us.
So we like power.
So we need power to live.
But they're sort of a bit care to help us find that.
I mean, luckily, what's proceeded that is builds, you know, antipathy when every came in and he thought, oh no.
He's going to tell me about God and everything.
But it was interesting to have experienced that before we get to this.
You know, we already know that he says you can choose your own conception.
So that's great, isn't it?
We've got that in the bag before we get to this.
You know, if this had been at the beginning, we would have thought, oh, we've got to believe in God.
But because that's proceeded this, it's like, you know, the idea of struck him, didn't it?
It's just like, wow, my own consumption.
Well, I think that, you know, it's talking about power.
It's talking about lack of power, you know, well power was insufficient.
You know, human resources, you know, human resources in resources is another word for power.
Brand, you know, the power has to be greater than ourselves.
So greater meaning, bigger or meaning than beyond, you know, greater London.
Not fast.
Outside of us, yeah.
So it's, you know, looking at it in the context of those words, you know, not talking, not using the word bar, not using the word higher.
Don't know that.
But it says, going to disney test.
Well, it goes on to it, yeah.
So we're going to talk about going.
So we only go chapter.
And, and if that has been at the front, that might have, oh, you know, that's just that, you know, paragraph might have, like, I'll just put that down there.
Contemporary investigation.
But I think it was brilliant that it was written in the order that it was, because we've already examined that bit of it, which is great.
I believe, or am I even willing to believe that there is a power greater than myself.
You know, so it's 13 pages and, you know, power.
It's not in pages and thoughts, not in pages and.
Spirituality.
So.
That's.
That's very, very.
And then.
You know, it's some.
I was, I was writing the letter yesterday.
You know, current reference.
And I said in the letter that many people struggle with the spiritual nature of the program.
You know, the idea of the prayer of meditation.
And they do.
You know, that's the nature of our society.
You know, the Christian religion has become.
It's, it's, it's declined massively.
You know, and people have different ideas about life now.
You know, you know, there was a few minutes.
It's just completely gone from.
Talk to me, like, not completely, but.
We have great things in our Christmas and.
You know, that people don't really bother with it.
You know, so in the current day, which isn't.
A program, a fellowship.
And originated from a Christian.
Place.
Then.
You don't like it.
So, you know, it's getting out.
You don't have that kind of.
So, you know, it kind of touches under it and before it doesn't.
You know, it's not.
We don't have to change.
You know, from.
And if you want to change, then try this.
Try this because it's not for a lot of people.
You know, and it's kind of amazing to.
Find a bit of faith.
You know, and get against the power.
And feel like you've solved your own problem.
To the point where I no longer have any interest in that anymore.
And I think that's when, you know, it that there wasn't.
I mean, for the.
An ocean of hills, thousands of flashes.
But I think that's when you can use your experience when you're helping a new prospect.
You know, to say I struggled with this, you know, you, you especially.
But, you know, you were just willing.
You're just willing to, you know, get over your content price investigation.
Because you just had enough.
You just have to have time.
I was very determined.
Um, you know what to.
To stay sober.
You know, really determined.
And I just thought I was going to be a car.
Um, you know, but I was quick prepared to.
Um, you know, to try because.
You know, I just thought I was making it.
It makes sense.
To go through this.
Don't see what.
What happened?
Give it a go.
If you got to least.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And there's some.
There's, there's some parts of the book.
I just kind of like blew your mind a little bit.
You know what I'm saying?
Well, I like that.
But, you know,
and, um,
you know, the written aspect to help you find some power.
I don't know.
I'll give that a go.
Because it did definitely some.
Well, there.
Thanks.
Thanks.
I'm trying my time.
I'm trying my time.
