So I've got a quick favorite ask. It'll take you all of about two minutes.
0:03
So if you enjoy my show and you feel like you get value from it, I'd be incredibly grateful if
0:08
you took literally two minutes and left me a five star review on iTunes. You know, my goal in
0:13
life is to reach as many people as I possibly can and that'll help me do that. It would really mean
0:17
a lot to me and I read every single one of them. So thank you in advance for that. One other thing,
0:22
maybe you've heard Warren Buffett's famous quote and that is to be fearful when others are greedy
0:26
and greedy when others are fearful. There's been a lot of greed these last few years,
0:31
but that has completely flipped. Incredible opportunities are here in multi-family real estate
0:35
and a lot of other people feel the same way. So some are saying it could be the greatest transfer
0:39
of wealth we've seen in our lifetime. So if you want to learn this business, come to my
0:43
freaking virtual bootcamp. It's $47. It's two days of training. It's not a big sales pitch.
0:49
Just text the word bootcamp to 72345 or go to rodsbootcamp.com and I promise you'll be glad you came.
0:56
Again, text bootcamp to 72345 and I'll see you there. All right, let's get to it.
1:01
Today, I want to talk about the power and success that comes from your ability to execute.
1:06
What am I mean by that? Execute. I'm talking about your ability to make things happen in your
1:10
business. So you're a leader. You wouldn't be listening to me if you weren't. Now, as a leader,
1:15
when you lead a team, you really have to have three main responsibilities. You have to create
1:19
that vision for the organization, you know, for what it is that you plan to accomplish, right?
1:24
Secondly, you have to have enough conviction and passion around that vision to enroll other
1:28
people on your team to get behind that vision. But then most importantly, you have to be able to make
1:33
it happen or execute on that vision. Now, the first two are fairly easy. Coming up with the dream
1:38
or vision is pretty easy. Ideas are everywhere, but ideas won't make you wealthy. It's the other
1:43
pieces that will, you know, it's your ability to execute on that vision or dream that's going to
1:47
bring you success. You know, that ability to execute is what separates amateurs from professionals.
1:52
You know, Thomas Edison said a vision without execution is delusion, unfortunately. So besides
1:58
creating the vision or the idea and getting the team behind it, the leader with this team has to
2:03
come up with a plan and strategize about that plan. But sadly, many great ideas really never get
2:08
past that stage because again, the key to all this is the ability to execute. Nothing's more important
2:13
than that execution and it determines whether or not you and your business are going to take off.
2:18
You also need to have strategized before you execute. You can't execute without strategy,
2:23
but that's it for that execution strategy is useless. But again, having that vision and strategy
2:29
just isn't enough. As I said, the most important piece of success is consistent day-to-day execution.
2:35
Your ability to take action is the underlying key to your success. So how do you execute effectively?
2:41
First, you've got to make sure you've set up some very clear priorities. As we've discussed,
2:45
you've got to get your team behind your vision. It requires you to utilize leverage and then leverage
2:50
as much as you can to other people. Remember, this business like life is a team sport. Get help.
2:56
Now, it also requires focus. As you progress, it's important to evaluate what's happening consistently
3:02
and adjust as needed. Now, you do this by setting up what's called key performance indicators
3:07
or KPIs. And those are important metrics of your business that you need to be measuring regularly
3:12
to hold you and your team accountable for all the different aspects of your business.
3:16
If it doesn't get measured, it never improves, right? Now, in all the businesses that I currently
3:21
own and I've owned in the past executions, it's always been the most important piece.
3:25
And it's also the most challenging piece that I've dealt with. You see, once I've established
3:29
the target or the outcome and I've got my team behind it and then set up those KPIs to measure
3:34
the progress, communication comes next. Communication happens to be one of the most important
3:38
pieces of execution. For example, I'll typically have a daily huddle with my team to make sure
3:44
we're all on the same page and then we have regular weekly and monthly meetings with very strict
3:48
agendas to keep us on track. We also have scheduled strategy sessions with the entire team where every
3:54
possible idea is considered. Now, another important piece as you're executing on your plan is it's
3:58
important to break down things to their simplest and most easy to understand for a framework. You know,
4:03
that's what helps minimize confusion and complexity because both of those things are going to slow
4:08
down your ability to execute. So remember this, my friend, average people have ideas and dreams,
4:12
you'll hear all about them, but the truly exceptional success stories in this world have incredible
4:16
execution. I'm Rod Cleaf wishing you incredible passion and massive success in your business and
4:22
in your life because of your ability to execute.
