The Quick Route To Calm

About this episode

The weirdest thing about chasing peace is how often we chase it by trying to avoid anything hard. We dodge discomfort, over-control outcomes, and hope nothing challenges us, because we think that’s the safe route. But that strategy quietly keeps us stuck, because a life built around avoidance never gives us the one thing peace actually rests on: self-trust.

And, as a special bonus, I want to give you FREE access to my signature course, Slay Your Year (usually $997)! All you have to do is:

Simple as that!

Welcome to Let It Be Easy with Susie Moore. Do you want to know something funny? That makes me laugh when I think about it. It's the lengths that we will go to to avoid challenges, to avoid struggles, to avoid discomfort, to avoid something going perceived as wrong. We will do anything sometimes to avoid what we understand to be stressed, suffering, struggle, challenge, thinking that that is the way to access peace. If that's you, if you're feeling that way right now, maybe you're hoping something doesn't happen or you're trying to manipulate or control the situation so that you won't be challenged or stressed, think about this. Hasn't the peace that you've attained in your life over time? Hasn't that really only come from earlier challenges that you faced?

Earlier challenges, struggles, stressful situations that you dealt with and survived? Is it a paradoxical that we avoid things that bring us peace? Because the temporary nature of them scares us. But we know once we've dealt with a job loss, once we've dealt with grief, once we've dealt with being in a very unfamiliar situation, once we've dealt with x, y, z, phil in the blanks, you know your own personal history. Those experiences are what made you strong, what gave you self-trust, which is the foundation of inner peace. Trusting, you know what? I got it. I'm going to be okay. I figure things out. Look at the past as proof, as evidence of this. Avoiding challenges might seem safe in the short term. But number one, it doesn't work. But is it ever worked for you long term?

And can you, even when you don't feel like it, even when it scares you, even if you're in the thick of something right now, can you just look to your history for data, for proof, that what you're going through now will only forge you forward, will only be a blessing and retrospect. This, my friend, is trust. And if you're anything like me, trusting yourself and trusting the greater picture is the only way to live. That piece you have now, that's what you have now. It wasn't from avoiding challenges. It was facing them and being okay. Until tomorrow, my friends. So much love and ease. Hey friend, I've got something really cool for you. I want to give you three access to my signature course called
