The Surprising Effect of Spiritual Coaching with Cheryl Bailey

Meet Cheryl Bailey

Cheryl Bailey is the founder of Grit and Grace Meditation. She recently became a Certified Life Designer® Coach in Julie Reisler's certification program. Cheryl's passion for life coaching began years ago when she personally worked through some of the most tumultuous times in her life.

 

She realized that the journey of life doesn't come with a roadmap, and we all experience twists and turns, highs and lows, and there is never a perfect outcome. The work that they did together was life-altering, and she knew one day, she wanted to be able to hold space and co-create with other women on that same level. Today, Cheryl is a Certified Life Designer Coach, 200 Hour RYT, 200 Hour Certified Mindfulness Meditation Instructor, Certified Conscious Sound Practitioner, a 40- hour Certified Yoga Nidra Instructor, a Certified Hibiscus Moon Crystal Practitioner, and an Usui Level II Reiki Practitioner. Cheryl also co-facilitates transformational Self-Love Women's Retreats in Sedona and Costa Rica. Cheryl lives with her husband in magical Sedona. An Unlikely Healing Path

After a string of tragedies, Cheryl was taught that control was merely an illusion.

Her first marriage of 17 years ended in a nasty divorce. Later, when she found love again, she lost her second husband to colon cancer. And within a few months of his passing, Hurricane Sandy rendered her homeless. Life truly pulled the rug out from under her. She fought to keep going under the weight of constant outer and inner turmoil. She knew there was another way to live, but that didn't happen until she began to fully surrender to something greater than herself. It was through various holistic and wellness practices that she found grace for herself. She realized that she didn't need to strive for perfection, and it was okay to give herself the time and space to just "be." She reconnected with her higher power and trusted God to guide her through all of life's ups and downs and ins and outs. This is when a sense of inner peace and self-awareness blossomed within, and where she found her true calling within sound healing, meditation and mindfulness, yoga, and spiritual coaching.

 

The Healing Power of Being a Spiritual Coach

Cheryl wanted to make a bigger impact by learning how to help guide women back to their truest selves and deeper desires. She knew doing this would require getting the training and acquiring the skills to support women in a bigger way. In the Life Designer® Coach Certification program, she learned how to go from her head to her heart and help others do the same. This process of letting go of the linear, left brain into what's possible in the creative right brain helped Cheryl to let go of her own perfectionistic tendencies and help others through her coaching skills. Much of coaching is learning how to help others to let their ego get out of the way, and of course, practicing the coaching competencies helped Cheryl to do this from within. Today, Cheryl coaches clients from all backgrounds and infuses her healing arts background and life design coaching in her retreats and programs. 

 

Self-love Isn't Selfish

You can not give from an empty cup. Cheryl learned the hard way as a recovering perfectionist that the most loving thing you can do is to fill yourself up and take exquisite loving care of your mind and body. Sometimes that means doing things that others might not like. This is where grit, grace, and compassion come in. You must find the inner strength to follow what's true for you, regardless of what others think. We must remove the blinders and refuel ourselves with love to see and feel the Divine.

 

The Most Important Question To Ask Yourself

Cheryl, like many of us, wasn't taught to herself what she really wanted. Only after tragedy and deep soul searching did she start to ask the important question, 'Who am I, really?' What followed was the question, 'How can I be of service?'. Listening more deeply to her heart, she realized her desire was to share her gifts with others. So, after receiving the signs from the Universe, she left her successful career in higher education to pursue a life she was truly passionate about. After being inspired by her

own unexpected challenges and experiences, she realized her journey was indeed her

destination. Be sure to ask yourself regularly, 'Who am I, really, and how can I be of maximum service?' Get quiet, listen to your inner guidance, and be prepared to take courageous action toward your vision.
