It's always got to get the tea in. Always, because it is Hudson quite a bit. It's not Swain East River. Welcome to throwing. Actually, thank you for having us in your beautiful store here in Tribebeasy. It's a busy. Thank you for coming, guys. No, of course. We had nothing else going on. What's wrong? We're excited for you. It is fashion week. It is. Yeah. Yeah. Does it exist in New York? Do you do anything yourself like Darnfashwinker? Absolutely not. My wife, yes, me, no. Good call. Yeah. I mean, I always get this weird. When I go to a run my show, I always get, that's not mine. Right.
You know, and it's been years since I've shown New York. It's just this weird energy of like, why am I here? You know, I feel like I'm still fed every day. Not just fashion week. When you're showing, when you're showing, it's mine. You know, but when even if I'm supporting a friend, I think, you know, back in back in the year, when I go support a friend, it's just, it's just weird. You see editors, you see people that come to your show, but then you're kind of like, eh, why am I here? Why are we here? You know, I'm going to get into and more like I don't belong against in a way. You belong. I'm a boxer syndrome. No, but I always felt, you know, there's this weird energy. Like, am I supposed to be here? I don't know. You're supposed to be here. Okay, I'm here. And you came dressed to impress. Yes. I have to know everything that you wore to podcasts with us, but really just your own event. What do you got on today? So these are, these are a holiday sample that has trousers, trousers, barbears, yes. Oh, nice. Yeah. Yeah. Silky smooth.
I found them on the protoract in the office today. What's the policy of grabbing off the protoract? I may or may not have just gotten in a little trouble. Is this why the president stopped? You're the head of design. And I need to be wearing, you know, I need to be wearing our goods. So yeah, the policy is, yes. That's a good excuse when you get caught and return them after this. Are you like shopping the rag-a-bone archive or like this was just you're like, fuck, I need some pants. Speaking of archive, we're pull, you know, it's our 25th anniversary coming up next year. And we're pulling a bunch of archives now. We're digging in the dust. Digging in the crates. Yeah. And the crates. We're going to go up and you want to go down. Sock, whatever shoe, Prada, Slipper, NT is just something I picked up recently in Milan. Okay. Yeah, yeah. What's the hardware of the rigs?
Oh, same jewelry. Yeah. I'm a lot of Milan. Oh, actually, Portugal. This is this is a little gold kind of kind of has that longhorn situation. Hook them. Yeah, hook them horns, but I'm a Taurus. So, you know, okay, make a sense for me. I'm not trying to be a McConaughey. It's just made sense for me at the time piece. Yeah. What's on the risk of cold? Oh, that's, you know, the Rolex. Ooh, delicious. Birthday year. Is it a birthday year Rolex? Like does the year matter at all? Just like this is a great birthday. This was a gift. Oh, okay. Yeah. And the panties. I kept it in the divorce. Nice. Yo, congrats, dude. You won. Yeah. What about the panties? Pants. My pantalons? Yes. Yeah. Your drawings. My undies. Probably a unit. I guess that's like an easy go to. Yeah, for sure. Yeah. All right. Fitcha complete. Swave as the new head of design. Wow, the pant you went. We always ask the panties. Oh, really? Yeah. I thought I was special.
You are, you are. But we do ask everyone what underwear they're wearing. Really? Yeah. So just be happy that you wore some today. I guess I need to watch an episode. Oh, wow, dude. All right. Cool. All right. That's been five minutes. All right. Thank you so much for coming over to the show. Okay. Swave. Yes, sir. Fitcha complete. Thank you for doing that. Of course. As the new head of design for menswear, rag and bone. We are on the cusp tonight actually. Yeah. You're viewing your first men's collection. Yeah. Are you nervous? I mean, I'd be lying if I said, I'm not, you know, fuck yeah, I'm nervous. I think I wasn't nervous when we debuted at pity and we're showing its wholesale. We're coming out of the gates in January. I was a little nervous then, but not as much as now because now it's the true test. You know, you're in, it's the consumer. The public. Exactly. It's so like with me. Yeah. You know, like everything else, I felt like I had done so many times, but just like getting,
getting to the consumers and with the company at this level is what's putting, you know, me more under the gun. Is that a lot of pressure where you're like, this is closed at a ton of people are going to see. Yeah. And it's just, you know, going through the process and with a new company, figuring out the system, how the buys go in, what they went large with, what they didn't go large with, and just kind of the whole picture. But, you know, it's pretty sizable by, you know, so like when I see numbers, I'm thinking, that's a lot of freaking Harry and Jack. Yes. We got to say. You know, yeah, that's a lot of shirts. Was there anything that was like a popular buy that maybe surprised you that you weren't expecting? Like, I don't know, resonate at least like on the business side of things. No, actually good question. That gave me the gave me a little bit of confidence because the things that I felt like, a, someone's going to like this came to fruition, you know, from the start, even like, even
with wholesale out of the gates because we don't do our DTC buy until after wholesale or it kind of co-existed. But, but yeah, just seeing both parties being into styles that I felt like, like this Harrington that you were wearing, you know, pinstripes, classic, yeah, exactly. And I just felt like the Harrington's big and menswear, you know, put it in some finer soothing fabrics, kind of a no-brainer, nothing too tricky, but, you know, try and true formula. Was there anything, was there anything that you were like, ooh, this is going to make daddy some big bucks that then fucking bombed, you know, what's up? Yeah. What do you make that sauce? That's about all your failure from bombs. I mean, from career or who's into life life. Oh, shit. Oh, we got long as we got to work with this. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I could even think like that or just like, you know what, I designed it. It's out there.
Like, my job is done. I can't get emotionally attached to things. Yeah, and I couldn't get really emotionally attached. I have, as we've gone on because it was being, you know, it being my first season, I just had to figure out, there's a lot of bopping and weave in and just figuring out like, what, how it works, you know. So I didn't really get attached to anything. And if I did, I probably voiced it. But now as we've gone on season after season, my voice is getting louder and I'll protect, I'll protect things that end up firmly going to leave. Well, it's just like, you know, I don't want to be, I told you so every time, you know, it's tough in a border room, dude, in a meeting. Yeah, but like, I got to start believing in myself more in situations and you know, it's easy to get insecure when people chop, chop, chop, chop, chop, chop. So it, and I'm not saying it happens. I'm just saying, you know, taste level is a thing, you know, and everyone's different. So taking screenshots now. Yeah. Save those receipts, brother. They're going to come in handy when you want to flex. So like for this first collection, I wasn't freaking on anything.
I mean, I do remember a couple things and I'd love to bring back. Okay. So yeah, there's always next year, right? No six months from now. I think, you know, timing. Yeah. No, I think it was then put it, put it in the graveyard. Like, Slam, you haven't even done the HR training. Please just like settle down. You're like, do you have any non-pack your boxes yet? Yeah. I mean, luckily, I had the nature. Okay. So the first collection in stores now, for anyone that hasn't gotten their hands on it or visited the store yet, what can the people expect with Slam's first collection? Well, you know, when I stepped into the role, my main objective was a, like, clean up some of some of the details that had continued. There were codes that I just felt were a, at a point where we need to modernize some things. So it was more about, and I come from more of a classic background design wise. And it was more about just cleaning up some things, you know, stripping some trends or changing trends, upgrading, putting in more shirting color, color was big.
Yeah. So behind us. Yeah. And, you know, we're going to have red fatigue and menswear after the season. I think it's obviously, it's obviously a thing, you know, and happening. But like that red cashmere sweater is clearly like my number one as simple as it may be. So when you got the top men spotted rag and bone, the short term things wanted to affect on day one were like updating details. Yeah. So you still going through, yeah, still going through all that process. And I was basically the team and I are just, you know, it's a large collection. And so, and we have a very small and lean team. So we couldn't get to everything. So it's like, you know, I went after shirting immediately and tailoring and bringing, take more tailoring in. That's more of my background. And then, you know, we need to work on bottoms. And then we got to get to denim. Like there's things that we need to update. And then you tackle one category at a time. I mean, I'd love to tackle all of them. Right.
When I came in, came in, but it's just, we didn't have the time, you know, and the counter moves so fast. Is the denim though as far as? And nothing's wrong with what we're doing. Right. Like there's no wrong. It's just updates. And it's just like, you know, certain things that I feel that we need to modernize a bit. And fits. So, um, either you have yourolar trim metal I guess would share this,如果你. That you shouldn't worry about me. I don't remember that I like either. Because on the screen and on Facebook, I was like, there's like maybe only a little bit of overall personal influence. So it's really the best side. Like what do you think is we can look at our hinds on top of ourselves and listen to the intro of our fashion grounds back in the 2000s? I think it looked like we lost chick so far we walked around with it. So yeah. And I- Was like, used to go to our chest levels right now together and we, Goldberg. Um, we're in this case for, we are in this case. that I had him on the move board. Like, you know, when I stepped out, even though he does our e-commerce stuff. And he just has great style and, you know, reds trending clearly. So, yeah, it just made sense.
Okay, so you had the short term, like things you need to change immediately at the macro kind of part of the video. Yeah, still do, the still working progress. Yeah, work in progress big time. What was the outfit for the first day of school at the reverse, we nervous? Not at all. I don't really get, I mean, of all things, like I'll think about maybe sometimes what I'm gonna wear, but like I don't ever like, oh, only by overdress. But better over than under, at least mine. I like to under when I like to throw it off. Like he probably wouldn't think that I'm just wearing a t-shirt today, right? I don't know. Honestly, probably, this is a second time. Did it throw you off? What was, I don't even remember what it was. I don't remember where it was. You were wearing a black t-shirt. Black t-shirt. It was probably the same damn t-shirt. I don't know, sure about watch this thing. You don't wanna fuck it, John, a jacket? Like it's your big day, bro. Yeah, but see, I don't know. Is that more like, is that like punk? I think it's more punk. For me, for my mentality, it's like, you know, in the fall, when it gets cooler, I'm a, I'm a sport coat buttoned down, jean guy,
like consistently, you know, all through the winter. But soon, you know, as soon as it hits the warmer weather, t-shirt, it's all. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, and it's just like, I don't like to over dress. I know what you mean. You can strip it down, but I just, I don't know. Respect. When you come in as the top dog into a brand that's been around for so long, how do you balance that like, or dance that dance of commercial viability and success with like a creative vision that you have that you wanna execute where you're like, you know what, I finally get a chance to make a fucking red sweater. I mean, good question. It's tricky, you know, and you hit it when you said balance. Yes, just finding the balance, not pushing too fast, and knowing when to put your foot on the gas, and then making sure that you keep our guy that's been buying into the brand for 25 years around. But I think at times, I like to give our guy more credit,
because I think sometimes we're too safe with our guy. And I think that he wants more. So I mean, fingers crossed. You asked him in this year, in 2026. Absolutely. Yeah, and it's like, if you're offering him just a little something on things that he already comes to us for, I don't think it hurts anything, because he might be going somewhere else. We don't know to buy that, you know? Right. Right. I like to test the waters more. For listeners that maybe, you know, I haven't been around for the 25 years of ragged bone in 24 years or work maybe tapping, because it was like mostly free social media. Yeah. That initial heyday of ragged bone, that first peak, what was that like to describe that? So I remember when they got pressed, like the first piece of pressing, and I don't remember where it was, and I was kind of like, fuck, how are they getting pressed? And they haven't even released the damn jeans.
And I was sitting here like a year and a half, two years in with obedience sons at that point, I think. I mean, I don't even remember. I'm, things are blurry when I really started that brand. You're right. But it's a fun time. If we want to put a date on it, free PBRs and a small paperpen in California. But point is, it's like, they were getting pressed before it came out, you know? And I remember that press piece, and I was like, oh, this is cool. They're making a North Carolina. It's like, you know, that's my home. That's where I grew up. So I gave them props. It was three of them at the time. It was David and Marcus, and I think his name is Nathan maybe. And yeah, and then the heyday. The heyday for me would have been Barney's. So like I felt like, you know, when I had my brand, we were in Barney's. Back in Bone was a competitor. Great guys, no, no, you know, met him many of times throughout the CFDA and so forth. I think we were in a couple GQ, whatever. You know, of course. Yeah.
So their heyday, I feel like Barney's, they just exploded. You know, after after the crash, oh, nine, it's like, that's when that was 11, that's why. Yeah, because they just absorbed that market, you know, and they just, they took off. And another true story is I was, you know, Mr. Rose and it was, is our chairman here. I was knocking on his door when he had already invested in rag and bone, trying to get him to invest in. Oh, man, you Mr. Rose. I was a little late. Well, I think he would have done, I think he did much better here because like, I was thinking about shit show. Yeah, no, I'm higher you dude. Yeah. We shop for everything at home now. Why can't we shop for blinds at home too? That's why I love three day blinds. Instead of wandering around a store, three day blinds sends a professional design consultant straight to you. We've planned for the plot twists, so support is always available because a great trip starts with peace of mind. But that's how I met Andrew. So until I got the call last June from Mr. Rose and, you know, I hadn't seen him in 15 years. You know, shit, I better go this store. Yeah, but that's like a full circle moment for you.
Is that like, it was full circle. I mean, you know, you play the long con. I have faith in love. Yeah, yeah. I mean, I love Andrew and I always respected him. And, you know, I met him several times. I even had another business I tried to pitch him, you know, I, I, nothing better than sitting in a meeting with Andrew. But, yeah, it was full circle. And I hadn't heard from him in a while and got that call. So, yeah, 15 years. But it goes back to, not just this industry, but just the whole relationship thing and how, you just gotta stay around. I've got to stand a damn. And you gotta stay in a damn game, you know. And that'd be nice to people. And there's some other, you know, connection, dot connectors that are in there that, you know, helped out. We talked about like the, the, the technical kind of design side of it. But what's like, what has been the hardest part, or maybe the most daunting part about taking over a brand that has such an established place in the cultural consciousness? Yeah. Yeah, that's, that's the thing. Yeah, that's the thing. Because you don't, you don't want to shift too fast, too furious.
You know, it goes back to the previous question. It's just, it's just a lot of people have a vision of what they know about rag and bone and what they, you know, it's just like the band that they've listened to and they know that song, you know. And so play the hits. Play the hits, right? Rebirth. But that's, that's, I mean, listen, I'm still learning so much and I will throughout my career here. I just, I think that you just, you have, you have to be careful, but you also have to, you have to push buttons to seat to higher. Yeah. They didn't, they didn't bring me in to just be safe zone. They brought me into, as Andrew says, disrupt, you know? And I, and I know like, you know, when I say that, you know, you take it with a grain of salt, but I want to do more of that and push, push more, you know? And that's, that's the goal. Do you find yourself getting, it's not necessarily a trap because like nostalgia is like, it feels pretty fucking good. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. Do you ever, do you ever find yourself like getting drawn to the nostalgia and it's so
easy in this day and age with like Instagram mood boards, our rival photos, the fact that stuff from 2012 still a lot of stuff, you know, can look, can it does look good right now? Yeah. Do you ever feel yourself kind of falling into the nostalgia trap? No. Yeah. Absolutely not. I mean, the way, where I come from, I, I like, look, it might be a mood, a mood image, but I've always designed for today and tomorrow as opposed to, hey, I should bring this back from, from 2010 or this Margella piece from 2008. It's just not my game, you know, like, I respect it and the people that do and, you know, if I have a military influence or inspiration or detail, I don't get wrapped up in all the stuff. Right. I don't nerd out at it. It's not precious. No, I kind of like, I like to see the future. I like to see what's on the street and I like to bring that into the world. And that's kind of how I've always designed it. Sure. More of a vibe is on there than like a, I'm just fear for the vibe.
I'm recrooving over here. Wow. Finally, an honest, honest guy in fashion for the fucking vibes. I know nothing. I was like, I mean, I don't like, but I just, I just feel like, I don't know. I feel like I have a taste. It might suck to a lot of people, but I just go for what it's a feeling. It's a feeling. We get nostalgic real quick. What was it day in the life of early 2010? Oh, shit. 2010 early 2010s. Early mid-offs mid-offs mid-offs mid-offs mid-offs. Were they that different? The mid-end late-off. Yeah, they, they, they, yeah, they, they killed off a little bit more extreme. So like 2006 was probably clearly acne genes. Okay. Repetos. Oh, shout out to Sir. Early Repetos. Now they're all back, dude, but they worth 2003ish. Like, you know, sir, obviously, Sirs was all over the mid-bord. You know, that was, that was the guy. Um, yeah, no, Repetos. Yeah, clearly. It's crazy.
Yeah, yeah, I love. Um, and then it'll be the suns button down, and, and, and, and, and sport coat. I mean, and it's still the kit. Like, fall, you'll see me in that. Right. You know, it'll be a, probably not obedient sons. Maybe some still academy and rag and bone. Right. I don't know, but that you're out in California originally at that, at that point, you're out in California. Oh, no, no, I was here. I moved to you. Oh, three. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. What was your first memory of rag and bone? Was it like seeing that first piece of it? It was that first piece of press. Yeah. Blue in my mind. Cause I, I mean, literally like, you're already in, in it a little bit. I guess it would have been, I guess it would have been 2002 that I saw that. Like, what is this black magic? Yeah. I mean, they were special like details magazine or, you know, one of those. Yeah. Can I give some other ones like what? A Tokyo honor song. Like, like, Lomo Vogue. No, it would have been more local. It would have been like a New York thing like Fader sportswear international zone. Fader, fader, fader.
It could have been fader. It might have been fader. Nylon guys. Yeah. I don't know. It's definitely nylon guys. Nylon guys and rag and bone were fucking. I got to find it. Cause I really want to know now. Yeah. Yeah. But I remember it. Yeah. It clears day. It was like this, this large and like, yeah, like on the bottom of it. And I'm just like, fuck. These motherfuckers. I'm like, they're just kidding. It before it even comes out like straight, like denim, straight. It was, it was one of their dinner pieces, you know? I mean, it had a Rogan vibe, but it was, it was one of their, you know, I mean, Rogan to this day. I mean, shout out to Rogan, man. It was Rogan. You don't know what Rogan denim is? Joe Rogan. Oh my God. He's got shout out to Rogan. It's on our part. I got it. I got it. Rogan denim. Rogan denim. It's early off. Yeah. Yeah. William Spur. It's just blue. Okay. Making Jesus North Carolina too. Was that her? No. No, they were using like sites denim out of Kentucky. Yeah.
He's a, he's a, he's a four runner. His rag and bone denim underrated when it comes to like the denim conversation. Absolutely. I see it all over the street. So I absolutely. I think there's so many things that we do really well. And I think there's so many things that we're doing well and we're going to continue and do better. Right. I mean, that's where I am. I think we can raise the bar. What is rag and bone? What does rag and bone fit into the current menswear landscape? Wow. Good question. It's a very fractured. Yeah. I just hope to. Yeah. What do you guys think? I'm going to twist this one back. Back send it back. Because like to me, like, I don't know. I mean, I'd love to know. I see where I feel like I could take it. I think like I want the energy again. Like, you know, I feel I feel I restore the feeling. I want that feeling, you know, I feel like it's fully there to be taken. You know, like we're a New York brand. We're amazing denim brand. We we should we should own New York. Yeah.
And there's a lot of players in that field now, you know? So I think having the pieces that do like push the envelope or guys coming in. And you're like, Oh, I need a shirt for work. And then they're like, Oh, shit. Like, yeah, they were doing this. Right. Or like, you know, like the shelling. Where is it? The leather. Yeah. Like leather pants. Yeah. The leather car for the hood. The leather. I think that would be super helpful in like maybe re shifting people's perceptual red bone is in their heads because as a brand that's been around for 25 years and has always sawdives with like downtown downtown rock Indie Sleeze, whatever. Now it's like, all right. Yeah. And that's what it's like. Yeah. And that was my point about like our guy that's been around forever. So he's just showing him that we have more now. You know, maybe he knows. He definitely has money and he likes to travel. Like he they there's not much price resistance in our DTC. We've noticed that. That's great. Like the guy will pay for it if we put it out there. What do you think is I want his kid too though. Oh, well, his kid, you know, I have older kids like, yeah, the next gen.
How old your kids, your kids, your kids, your kids, your kid's fuck with rag and bone. Not quite yet, but I mean, yeah, that's the ultimate cosine, right? When you're kids, that is some free shit. Yeah. That's cosine. My daughter does a little bit. Yeah. Yeah. Do you make your buy it or do you? What's a discount? Are you trying to get a discount? No, but your daughter had us ask you for the discount. Sweetie, sweetie. I just take two. I can't. I mean, the product free shit, the product. Roll up the product. The product itself. Yeah. Do you think is missing for menswear these days? Um, I mean, listen, we get so many things shoved in our face on the daily. I think to answer that, honestly, I think we have it covered everything. It's all about it. It's all about it. It's all about it. It's all about it. I would say editing is a big miss. I mean, how many times can you look at a show? I know there's women where involved, but there's 80 looks like how in the hell, like even looking at it, it vote runway and there's 80 looks. I'm exhausted taking a nap in between.
I mean, I'm exhausted. Yeah. It's like, you got chat, describes it looks for me in one sentence. Exactly. What is that? It's just too many. I mean, I think it's too much out there, not just on the on the product side, but what about like, like for us, we think that there's too much on like the commentary side where everybody loves everything. It's like, well, if you love everything, you're not really saying it. Which goes back to editing too. You got to edit. What was talking about that earlier about honest reviews? Like, let's get, can we get serious at some point and just call it how we see it? Yeah. Who's going to do it? You guys going to do it? Yeah, we do it. Kathy Horan does it. Boom. That's it. Boom. Some of us got to make enemies out of here. But that's what that's what I'm saying. Like I love them all. Like, you bit, if they're the homie, we might soft in our tone. Of course, but we're never going to lie. We're never going to lie. Yeah. Unless, I mean, I'm sure people, I'm sure, you know, I've gotten some friendly, friendly reviews when it comes to constructive criticism when it was really bad. What was the first, like, have you ever seen generic?
What was the first thing you ever decided and how bad was it? Oh, there was plenty, but like, I can give you a mood board of those. Oh, the anti mood board. Well, it's right. The opposite of a vision board. Right. The shit board, the poop board. But let's just plan it and see if anyone likes it. Oh, yeah. You never know. Like, guys, like, this is what I'm thinking this season. Oh, you put it up there and it's an L's. I think that's how we have to guess men because I'm not like, oh my God, when you fucking killed, it's like, this is actually dogs. Yeah, yeah. Fire this guy. But that's the thing. Like, I think as a young designer, you just, when you get that opportunity, you just load it to the max. You just throw everything. You got freaking darks coming. You got, you know, slash it. It's just, it's just too much. And I could, right. And that's what I've learned over the years. It's just like, it's, it's simple and it's, it's typically classic, nice fabrication. Yeah. I mean, it, it's not, the formula is not that difficult. Right, right. You know, textile. I mean, that's what we buy. Did you break it down? There might be one, you know, if you go to a shopping person, which not a lot of people
do. Yeah. Yeah. Unfortunately, you know, there's that guy that was that crazy deor jacket, but they only made 10 of them. You know, you know, you were pretty quick when you make like an outrageous purchase. I made some bad stuff. You wear this or I wore it. I looked fucking stupid. I think like that also comes with, oh, I had some bad outfits. We all have. We all have. We all, it's like Jesus. I mean, I remember walking into acting and in Sweden, trying on the jeans and they were like, what do I do about the size of these fit? And they're like, can you button on them? That's your size. Like, okay. Cool. Thanks. I'm out. How, how long these are current out at this point? Like 20, 30. Yeah. We're going, wait, wait, I started late 90s. Okay. So like, yeah, yeah. Yeah. What's your favorite thing about working menswear? I mean, I've done some women's. I've, I've talked about the boys though. The boys. I mean, I love women. I love menswear. I love women here, dude. Don't worry. I love women. With menswear, like, I love the opportunity I've been given here, obviously.
Like any, it's one of the biggest that I've ever been given in my career, I would say. And, you know, it's a great opportunity and I'm so grateful to be here. So like, I wake up every day, like just fired the hell of. Stoked. So stoked. Ready to get it. Ride that city bike from Brooklyn and just. Let's go. Let's go. Let's get real three times. Fighting with old dudes that are like, you know, you know, with bridge. I come over Manhattan. Okay. That's it. It's a twin. I can make it scary one. I've made it 19 minutes. That's crazy. Yeah. I can make it. Yeah. Yeah. I can make 10 minutes. Wow, bro. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You might need to slow down, bro. Guy. No helmet. You like it. He's got on the box. Yeah. We're like kids. My wife's like, what are you doing? Yeah. I think I want to do something called mics up to because I like, I like to talk when I'm like talk to people, you know, like on the way. Which sounds like the next. Yeah. Like, well, check that guy out. Yeah. Like, nice.
You guys. I was like, what the hell is this guy? He's like, I'm good. I'm good. That's because I'm good. He's like, he's cool. But I think he's fine. He's my boy. He's fucking yelling at me. I think I've been yelling reseasable. Bad place to stop, brother. Are they on their phone? It's the fixed gear, guys like. They hate me. Of course. They just fucking hate. Yeah. I'm like, I'm in my product. Yeah. Fifty. Gunning by you. I know it's me by. Because your favorite thing about working men is where is the 59. Yeah. Is your commute out there. No. I love what I do. I mean, I absolutely love it. I feel so lucky. What's your least favorite thing about working in menswear fashion? I don't like it. I don't like talking about nerding out. Like I just, the whole like, menswear, like, yeah, just, yeah, I never got down with that. I mean, like, playing my friends are in there, but yeah, I was never, I was never in the club. You don't wanna play in the weeds. I just, I don't know. I don't know if it was like a, like, disrespect. I don't know, I just, I never, I never, I never played that game. That's fair. Yeah. And like I said, like the way I design,
I'm more of like, of the moment, modern. And I just, I don't do the whole like, like I'm still wearing this for 26 years, you know? Like, is there one thing that you're still in the hunt for like a grill that you haven't tracked out yet? Oh, no, because I feel like, I don't know. Well, I mean, I've, you know, I feel like, I hate to say just no, blah, that's like, but maybe that's the truth. I feel like I'd have it if, you know, there's some things that stick with me that I just can't let go, you know, like an army shirt I found or a chore jacket I buy, I burn field or whatever the hell like, that I've just had for a decade or two, you know, just that I still wear. Yeah. So I have, I have those in my closet, but like, I don't bring them out that much, but I would never get rid of them. Yeah, absolutely. You know? So that's my, we all got stuff like that. But like I'm not a big vintage shopper, you know? Unless I like have a has mask suit on or gloves or something. Sometimes stuff gets become vintage because you only know. Yeah, I'm vintage. Yeah.
Well seasoned. Yeah. I got a cast iron pan. Yeah. It's glossy. All right, Swain, last question. All right. Let's wrap this up. Open up the doors. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to do banging. Did having the name Swain set you up to be the artistic weird. Weirdo. I think it was already weird. You're destined to be a fashion designer. Like, what if your name was like Chad? Like, you would have been a fudge in my heart. Or Chad. Yeah. Would you have been a fashion designer if your name was Chad? I would have always set up like, like, if I'm in a chat room or something, like talking shit, like on the internet, maybe menswear. I was always Chad. Oh, really? So if you see any comments, pick the most jocky names. Like cyberbullies, menswear nerds. For a minute, you'd have to like, they started taking passwords. Like, New York Times, I couldn't like, I was like, damn, I can't leave a comment on this. Oh, yeah. So I'd be, I'd just be Chad. Chad. Chad, be your trolling. It seems like a menswear guy though, right? Chad, be trolling. It's a sweat. So sweat, like, like, I was a tennis player. We talked about that. Yeah. Like, that was my, that was what, that's how I got a fashion.
Good news player. Yeah. And I was just like, I was gunning to be, I thought I was going to be a pro player. I mean, honestly, I'm going to go to the league. I dropped out after like, I turned a few college scholarships down and just, you know, when I started it, when am, no, but that's where I got into fashion. GQ started covering tennis players. Oh, okay. Remember, I remember Mass Feelylander, I take no macaron has a bea to scarry light. Is shout out to Noah for the, you see the Lakakh sportives that he just collaborated on? Nope, but he was in what's very he was very much around the role of God, this season, so something was moving. He got a collab coming out. I mean, he's the first guy I saw. I'll do a tweener and a slam at the US open. Well, I mean, I'm sure someone had done it. Right. But I didn't seem to be alive. I mean, he was so athletic. I'm sure he still is but so he came. You came to fashion via sports, so you are kind of like a jet. You are. I'm a check. You're actually, you're spiritually a cheater sports fan. I mean, like massive basketball, you know, well, chat, swing. What a thing.
