Welcome to the Terrible Take at Ali Segment telling Steelers Nation what's on our mind,
an Alex Cazora. This will be my final Terrible Take before the Pittsburgh Steelers make their
first round selection Thursday night. The big question in my mind will Pittsburgh break their
golden rule. One that says the first round selection has been and will continue to be a prospect
either brought in for a pre-draft visit or someone a decision maker in this case Omar Khan
and Mike McCarthy saw at a pro day. Every pick since at least 2010 is fallen into one of those
two buckets and in the three years with Khan as GM all have come in for visits. In my final
Steelers mock draft I broke that rule. I mocked Indiana wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr who checks
neither box. It's a stretch one I did not expect to originally make but his connections to wide
receivers coach Adam Henry and Frank Signetti Jr being on Pittsburgh staff told me a visit was
not mandatory. Time will tell if that was the right call if history continues and Cooper will
not be the pick. It'll be someone like Denzel Boston or Van Gogh Yawane. It's been a season of
changes beginning with the head coach and maybe ending with the first rounder coming from a different
pool than any time in recent memory. Enjoy the draft everyone. Be sure to follow us at SteelersDepot.com
