The new curriculum will have phrases about our faith that are extremely negative. The positives that used to be in the curriculum have been eliminated. In the past curriculums, there were sections about Muslim contribution to science, to algebra. All of this has been taken out. Things have been added. They have added the reconquesta that the Spanish
Ferdinand Isabella, they reconquered the land that was theirs. They have changed Palestine. They removed the psychspeical agreement. The basis of where it happened is now no longer there. And they say that America was the first to ratify the state of Israel and the rightful owners returned to their land. These phrases have been now added. And the horrific events of 9-11 are being portrayed as coming straight from radical Islam right in the text books of a 10-year-old. He's going to read this is coming from the faith of Islam, Stakhfirullah. And the worst of all, the one that really hurts us the most. They have said things about our Prophet Salih-Salam that I'm not going to repeat from the member. Adjectives have been used that are very, very stakhfirullah. And that's going to be in the curriculum. Specific adjectives. Why do I say this in the Khudba?
I say this in the Khudba because unfortunately what we are seeing now is the hijacking even of the educational system by the bigots and the Islamophops. I mean at least leave education out of it, but no. Even children's education has now been something of a political agenda. And the Palestinian Israeli conflict has now been immersed even into children's schooling and to present Islam in a negative light and to remove anything negative about what every civilization has, I have said this from the Mimba here. Muslims are humans. There's good and bad about Muslim history. Islam is divine. Muslims are human. We have good and bad in our history. OK, you want to do that. Be fair to the other religions, other civilizations. But when you only bring some negatives of Islamic civilization and remove all negatives of other civilizations, what is the impression of a 10-year-old? This has already passed. I need you to understand for the next few decades, maybe Latinos till when the next curriculum change happens,
millions of children and not just in Texas because Texas is so big, everything is big in Texas. Because Texas is so big, many states around Texas follow Texas's board of education. So essentially multiple states now are now going to be taught. Little children are going to be taught versions of history and religion that will impact their psyche. They won't even know how. Why am I mentioning this now? Because my dear brothers and sisters, this happened in our watch. Do you know there's not a single Muslim involved in the entire process of the board of education? The way this country works, it's the parents and the people of the city who get involved. The way this country works, this is a democracy. This is a civil society where everybody is supposed to get involved. Who decides that? People like me and you. People that are voted into office. People that get involved in their school systems. And then they run for office and the other people elect them. And then they decide at the election level, at the college
level, at the board level, they will decide these types of things. We, as a community, are unfortunately a loof from this reality. And we are distanced from it to such a level. We are still debating, is it halal or haram to vote? We are still debating, should we invite a political candidate to speak to us or not? We are still debating and living in a different alternative reality when our children's minds are going to be changed because we are living in an alternative reality and universe. I'm sorry, brothers and sisters, the blame is directly on me and you. We can't blame anybody else. The people who voted for this curriculum, they're living in our districts. They're paying the same taxes. We have just as much right to be on that system as they do. But we don't even know how it works. We have no clue. We are disconnected from every level of engagement. And Subhanallah, look at the far right. When we don't engage, when we live to ourselves, they say, look at these immigrants, they're living in ghettos.
When we do engage, when we try to get involved, oh, look, the stealth, jihadists are taken over the shuritization of the country. Forget them. You do you. Be proud of who you are. You are a Muslim. You're living in this land as a citizen. You are an American. You have just as many rights as everybody else. We are not asking for special treatment. I've said this multiple times, but we will not tolerate being treated as second-class citizens. We will not allow for our faith to be treated differently than other faiths. Why is it that only our faith was on the agenda? No other faith was treated like our faith. There's on YouTube, go look, entire arguments took place about what they should say about Islam. Nobody mentioned any other faith. Nobody brought up any other civilization. It was just about us. And who was there from amongst us, even aware? One or two parents were there, otherwise empty. Who was there that was even involved in the system? I keep on telling us, oh, Muslims, I understand. We are relatively small community.
But, Allah, we are educated. We are MashaAllah, Tawarakullah. We are the best jobs, the best careers. We are giving back. We are smart. We're dedicated. We're intelligent. Why don't we understand that this is our land? We have to be involved in it. At every level, we have to know who's representing us at every level, who's saying what about our religion? And this is not a stealth takeover. Every hud-bagh-give-the-for-right loves to take a clip of my say, oh, look at the radical preacher they have. They're telling the Muslims to take over. No, I'm telling Americans to take over what is yours. It's your right that your faith. It's your right that your heritage. It's your right that your culture be represented properly. This is the reality of every faith, whether you're Italian-American, whether you're Jewish-American, whether you're Buddhist-American, you have the right to be represented. We are no different. You know what the problem is? Well, Allah, He has the problem is us here. We don't get involved. We're still thinking it's Haram, or we're apathetic and lazy, one of the two. We either think it's religiously not allowed, and I've continually spoken about that.
Or we think, what am I going to do? My dear brothers and sisters, what are you going to do? Allow the next generation of Texan children to be brainwashed? Millions of children are going to read nasty things about our faith, about our Prophet Salih-Salaamu Al-Sahdh-Fatullah. Well, Allah, my blood boils realizing this. Millions of children, and we could have stopped it, but we are totally disconnected from that world. So my appeal to you, my appeal to you, we don't have the luxury of living isolationist lives. We don't have the luxury of being in a bubble here. This affects all of us. The same children are going to grow up with negative views of Islam, negative views of our Prophet Salih-Salaam. They're being taught at the horrific events of 9-11, which we as Muslims, we should denounce, we have nothing to do with this not-to-religious issue. It's political issue, we will denounce it, but they are linking it not to political anger. They're linking it to the religion of Islam directly. Can you imagine millions of children are going to be taught this? What will happen when they grow up? The image they will have of Islam?
Allah, in the name of Allah, in the name of Allah, in the name of Allah. Inshallah, next time this is going to happen, we hope we are more involved. We hope we can cleanse this to be fair to all faith traditions. We're not asking for anything unfair, but we're asking for equity. We're asking for justice, like the Prophet Salih-Salaam. We're asking everybody to be treated fairly. We're asking, do not teach children that which is going to cause civil discord later on. Be positive, and if there are some negatives put it into the context, every civilization has good and bad, teach it like that, we would understand. But when you earmark only hours, when you bring negatives to only hours, and every other civil, and when you are factually incorrect, you will say to the Zionist project, they're returning to their homeland. This is what is going to be taught here. This is what is going to be taught here, and you're going to remove Sykes' Pico ball for declaration. This is not even, you are now lying to a new generation. So we have to stand up, we have to get involved, we have to realize there is no other alternative for us except to put our trust in Allah,
and then to do our civic duty, give back to society, contribute to the country that we're living in, and do the best that we can so that everybody is treated fairly and equitably, and that will require from us a bravery and a courage to think outside the box, to listen to scholarship that might be different from the previous generation, to think about Fatawa that maybe last generation they didn't think about. There's no alternative other than we're going to be here, and we're going to carve out our rights, we're going to live the way that Allah wants us to live and the Constitution allows us to live. There's no alternative other than this. So may Allah SWT help all of us to understand this reality and utilize us to do whatever good we can. Allahumma i'nidahin fa'am minu.
