The three sillies P2丨Aesop’s Fables from Every Land

0:00Babybuzz! British folk tales, the three sillies, part two. The gentleman set off on his journey. He traveled through the countryside and crossed a few villages and woods. Until one day he found a woman trying to push a reluctant cow up a ladder. What are you doing? I'm trying to get my cow to eat the grass on the roof. What scared? The gentleman chuckled, unable to contain himself. Why not just cut the grass and throw it down to your cow? Why would I? Can't you see my cow is old enough to eat her meal by herself? After much pushing and coaxing, the woman managed to get up the ladder and onto the roof with her cow. She finally tied a string around the cow's neck, passed it down the chimney, and went back inside her house to secure the string to her wrist.

1:01Now you can't fall, Betsy, without my knowing it. Just remember to hold on tight. And you, young sir, mind your own business. But as soon as Betsy the cow took a step, it slipped and tumbled off the roof. With a loud moo and a woosh, the cow pulled the poor woman right up the chimney. Looks like Betsy just gave you a lift. That's one silly, so now for two more. The gentleman continued on his journey and found an inn for the night. There he shared a room with another traveler who was struggling with his trousers. Hmm, how can I put on my pants? Ah, I'll hang them between the two beds and then jump right into the pant legs. The traveler ran across the room and tried to jump into them, but he missed and fell flat on his face with a splat. Ah, why are trousers so awkward?

2:02I've been trying to jump into them for ages. Oh, I feel like I'm trying to wrestle a sleeping bear. Here, let me show you a trick. The gentleman demonstrated the proper way to put on trousers, and the traveler was so amazed. Oh, so that's how it's done. I thought they were just trying to trip me up. Thank you. I never thought of doing it that way. So that is a second bigger silly. Next, on a bright, starry night, the gentleman walked into a busy village. A big crowd was gathered around a shiny pond, their voices frantic and panicked. Excuse me? What's going on? The moon is falling into the pond. We can't get it out. But it's just a reflection. The moon isn't actually in the pond. But the villagers were too busy in their worry to listen and shouted back at him. If we don't act fast, the moon will drown. We need to save it.

3:06Save the moon? The villagers, ignoring the gentleman, continued their frantic efforts. One villagers stood at the edge of the pond shouting commands like a coach at a sports game. No, no! Angle it to the left. You've got to scoop her up like a giant ice cream ball. Maybe we need a bigger net. Well, I'd better hurry back before I catch their silliness. I'll just go back and marry the farmer's daughter. She is no sillier than the rest. And so, with a heart full of joy and a chuckle in his throat, he made his way back, ready to embrace love, and hoped that none of that silliness followed him home. Question time.
