The accusation function explains why the adversary retains divine court access after the initial expulsion. And the cross is the specific event that removes the legal ground for the accusation and triggers the final expulsion described in Revelation 12.   The roaring lion of 1 Peter 5:8 is not a lion that thinks it can win. It is a lion that knows exactly how much time it has left.
