THE WESTFIELD WATCHER AN UNSOLVED MYSTERY
About this episode
In June of 2014, David and Maria Broaddus were making ready to move into their recently purchased dream home in Westfield, New Jersey, when a mysterious envelope addressed to "new occupant" arrived in their mailbox. The letter was both creepy and threatening in tone-assuming that the person who wrote the letter and signed it with"The Watcher" had a strange personal connection with the old house. As follow up letters arrived, the Broadduses delayed moving into the house, fearing for their three children. City, federal, and private investigators got involved, and although they turned up some possibilities- they ended with no suspects. Netflix won a bidding war for the story this past December, and just a month ago the Broaddus family sold the house at a huge loss to an undisclosed buyer. "The Westfield Watcher" has moved to the #1 position in New Jersey urban legends, according to one source.
