But for years, Tom, one of our adult campers with an intellectual disability, never chose to fully participate. Instead, he would ask Eddie, his volunteer STM, to escort him in a wheelchair to go on countless strolls around the camp, even though Tom could walk on his own. Well, this year something changed. Eddie kept on urging Tom, come on, you can do it, buddy, you can do this. It was that simple encouragement that motivated Tom to forget strolling around in a wheelchair on the perimeter and stand up and get involved, even in the talent show. So friend, if today you are feeling hesitant, be encouraged. Open to Philippians chapter 4 and say, I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.
