Jack Hopkins — This happens when men learn how to fight. | Jack Hopkins. Machine-transcribed; use the interactive transcript above to jump the player to any line.
Tell you why you should fight and what's going to happen to you as a man when you do take up fighting and how it's going to change your life. This video is designed to make you want to box, to make you want to fight, to make you want to become the strongest version of yourself. Let's begin. I have just signed up for another pro boxing fight as some of you may know. I first got into boxing, I take this all the way back, I first got into fighting martial arts. When I was 17 years old, 16-17, I got beaten up outside of a pub in the UK after getting very drunk, young, underage, getting drunk and it was my fault. I antagonized someone and I got beaten up and I had a big black eye and I had to go into school with it and I felt quite embarrassed and I also felt for the first time in my life. Even though I was drunk, I felt this feeling of being totally helpless. I was being up by three guys at the same time. I was very lucky to have a friend there with me otherwise I would have probably had my head stamped in because I was a little prick sometimes and I fully deserved it.
But I did also feel, although it was my fault, I also felt like, wow, that's what it means to be hopeless, that's what it feels to get beaten on and not be able to do anything about it. And that really stuck with me, it was really nasty feeling, I could remember it through even though I was drunk. And so for the first time in my life, I really had this sun urge to grow up, stop being a kid and learn how to box. And I stepped up for a white collar boxing amateur boxing event for the first time in my life. And that's when I first got into boxing. And after that, I went on to do some MMA. I went on to do pro boxing last year. I've done some Muay Thai, I've had wins, I've had losses. And I'm going to tell you what it all means and what it gives to you as a man. Number one, when you're young, you are most likely lacking in confidence. You feel like you're behind in the world. No matter whether you're 18, 25 or 30, you often feel like there's other people doing better than you because there is.
There always is. Now, as a man, one of the best ways to combat this is to build confidence in other areas that are not related solely on money and status. When you see a man, or I see a man, he's got a lot of money, he's got the nice guy, might even have a hot girlfriend. If he's out of shape and he doesn't know how to fight me, it's a bit of a pussy, it just ruins it all. It takes it all away, literally none of those things are worth anything without the ability to protect yourself, your woman, your family, protect your own honor and your own word and being good shape. None of the money, none of the other things matter. And so it's really the great equalizer, I believe in status, the great equalizer in attraction from women to have combat checked off your list. And the beautiful thing is you can do it from like 16 years old. When you have no money, you can start building it. You've right now no matter where you work, you can start going to boxing sessions, to MMA, learning to get to any of this stuff you can start doing to increase your confidence when you might not have made it yet in business.
I am running a live event on Wednesday. There's a few tickets left. Go click it down below. It's about status psychology. It's about building an Instagram that brings you more leads in your business, allows you to make money, date hotter women, builds your status. You're watching this to self-improve and maybe you are self-improving your life. I'm going to teach you on Wednesday how to turn that journey, that self-improvement, actually into the way you make money using Instagram. So if you're interested in that, go check it out down below. The next thing you're going to notice is the way you walk, the way you move, the way your body languages. If you want to improve your combat skills, you learn to dance essentially and you learn coordination with your body. That's why most people when they first start boxing, including me, I'm no fucking canelo or any of that, I'm not that good. I'm trying to improve and you'll see me improving our new series coming out, but I'm not that good, but you do change your body language. When you see a retard, or retard, an average person that's never box-tried a box, they can't coordinate things because they've never learnt it.
And boxing, MMA, jujitsu, it's like dancing, it's learning to control certain parts of your body and move in a certain way. It also gives you this underlying confidence of being more of a predator now rather than prey and prey in predators walk and look very, very different in real life. When you know you have the skills to defend yourself, which isn't difficult, you do boxing two times a week or MMA two times a week, one sparring, one coaching session for a year, and you're going to beat 99% of people in a street fight just from that little amount of training. Because most men think they can fight, they've never done any hand-to-hand combat, any sparring at all, and they're easily beaten by someone who knows the basics. You start to hold yourself in a different way, you start to actually be more coordinated, walk very differently, and it have an aura about you. Another thing I noticed, you become less argumentative, you become less scared, and that actually makes you, it gives you this calm confidence. Before I was fighting, before I was sparring, before I'd ever done any competitive fighting, I would look for fighting clubs.
I was really bad for it, especially when I was at university, I would look for fights because I wanted to prove myself. I would be argumentative, I'd be way louder, like I wasn't a great guy. And that's because you've not learned, you've not used one of the core things that men need to get out of their system. And that is combat. We like combat, we are warriors, like we have warrior blood. Our jobs as men used to be to go and hunt and fight and protect, and that's still in all of us. And when you suppress that, it comes out in weird ways, and it can make people bad people. Because they still need it, so I would look for fights in the club because I felt that in my heart that I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the adrenaline of fighting and hurting people. But then when you fight, you realize the discipline of it. You realize the discipline and you do it in an environment where it's allowed. And it builds your confidence and you become a more peaceful man in everyday life. Because of course you don't want to hurt random people or get into fights at clubs where it's dangerous. You've been fighting a week at boxing club.
At your boxing club, safely, like where people admire you for it. And that was one really interesting thing for me in my life. And one reason why every man should fight is it makes you more peaceful. And if you do ever now get caught in a situation you try and diffuse it. And if you don't, you finish it super quick. And there's no problem with that. And it makes you a lot more calm and comfortable. And it's always just allowed me to notice the guys that you know you'd be in a fight because they're always the ones with the loud mouth that are chatting at the party and I see exactly why they do it. Another thing about fighting is it gives you an accurate ego. Most men, myself included, have an ego that is bigger than our actual capabilities. There is no escape from your ego in boxing. It's like I had an ego in my last fight. I thought I should win. And I didn't win. And I got knocked out in the third round, not like totally out cold on the ground but TKO. And it real lines your ego to be aligned with the real world.
It's like I can think all of these things in my head if I want, but if on Friday night when I'm sparring, I get knocked out. Or if I get knocked out in a fight in front of a load of people, I have to accurately look at my ego and then I have to decide what kind of man I want to be if I want to build that ego, if I want to run away from it and hide it with other things. And that's a very accurate reality check that every man needs. Why would you want to just be tricking yourself and look like an idiot? Even though it feels more comfortable to think, yes, I can fight, yes, I'm the man. Of course, it feels comfortable to be that. But when you actually like to be it, when you like other people to see you that way, and boxing MMA gives you that accurate reality check. And it puts you really down and you'll be like, fuck, man, I got so far to go. And if you just slowly learn in a year's time, you'll look back and you feel so proud of yourself and you'll be like, wow, I actually actually have some abilities now in combat. I actually back myself. Another thing it does is it allows you to confront and protect people in the world. It allows you to confront bullies. It allows you to protect those that you love. And one day you will be called upon to protect those that you love. And if you don't have the ability to do it, it will eat you up inside for the rest of your life. Trust me.
There will be a day when you see your girlfriend's, you're looking after your girlfriend, her liberty, her justice. If you're looking after a parent, an older relative, a younger brother or sister, there'll be a time where they're freedom, their sovereignty, their livelihood or them as a person is threatened. And if you cannot help them, if you cannot save them or you cannot save yourself, it will eat you up at night. It will eat you up in your mind. I'll tell you a story I've told a few times on here of a turning point for me in my life, my own confidence, a time that could have gone either way. When I was at a party in my house with one of my house mates, big black guy, used to get on with him. But he was a big guy, real big guy. And he got very aggressive when he took drugs and when he drank too much alcohol. And on that night, I was there with my girlfriend, having a good time. I'm about six foot with shoes on, 5-11 without, he's about six foot four, probably double my weight.
And there's a party going on, everyone's getting a bit crazy, he's done some drugs. And my girlfriend at the time went and asked him for a roll-up cigarette. We used to smoke tobacco in roll-up cigarettes. And he said to her that she can have a cigarette, but only if she calls him daddy. And that for me was very disrespectful. And she found it very disrespectful. And so I told her, I said, man, that's shut up, that's as crazy to say, like I hope that was a joke, it's not fucking funny to me. Like what do you think you're saying? And then he challenged, he said, what are you going to do about it? It was not normally like this, but when he got drunk or high, he was like this. And I said, just don't, don't do it again. And I fucking don't talk to her like that. And I walked away, I went and said, look, come with me, I'll go and get you some cigarettes come with me. This kind of life I used to live, it wasn't very fucking good. It wasn't a great life to live. I'm not proud of it. But that's how I lived. And I went to take her away and he kicked me in the back and called me a pussy and we ended up fighting.
And I ended up, I'd been training MMA at the time. I was training every week. I was sparring every week and this guy never spied. He was just a big guy. And I took a few blows. I had a bit of a black eye. I took a few blows, managed to hold him, smacked him in the jaw and knocked him out, knocked him to the ground. And then he woke up. He had his teeth agon for his lip. He was bleeding out of his mouth and he couldn't remember what happened. And it was one of those moments where I had to be able to defend myself. Otherwise, I would have just been immasculated and dominated by another man in my own household in front of my girlfriend. My girlfriend loved me for that. Everyone in the house respected me for that. He fell into line and said, sorry, everything was okay. But if you're not in a place where you can do something like that, even though I don't want to, I'm naturally not that violent. But I have to. There'll be times in your life when something along those lines happens. It might not be exactly like that. I used to live a different type of lifestyle to what I do now.
But you have to be able to call upon your own abilities. Otherwise, you will. You just loathe yourself. It's the thing that will happen. You will loathe your own weakness. Another thing fighting will do to you. It will give you focus. And that's why I've taken this new fight. After my last fight, I'll tell you this story. After my last fight, I had. I lost. It was everything to me. I trained hard. But I lost a profile in front of my audience. And it absolutely crushed me, my own opinion of myself. And to deal with that problem, I decided to drink alcohol and go on a two week vendor to some strict clubs in Patea and I couldn't get out of the clubs for two weeks and no one heard from me. And that was not a good way of dealing with it. But that's how much it crushed me. And for the last nearly two years now, I've been running from that feeling and running from having to get in again because it was.
It was just such a nasty feeling to me. So I drank more alcohol in my life than I usually do. I focused more on just money and less on my personal development, tried to get my ego from making more money, from luxury things and all that sort of stuff. And it brought me to a point recently where I was like, oh man, I know the thing that I've been running from and I can't run away from it anymore. I'm really successful because I need discipline and focus in my life. I've got money. It hasn't changed my opinion of myself. I've got the nice house. I people do respect me, but it's more than that. I don't respect myself because I've gone out on that loss and not done what I tell other people to do. And so that's my reason for taking the fight. And what the fight has given me is just a new discipline, a new focus. And I've decided to just discipline every area of my life not to make boxing everything because that's where I went wrong last time. I made boxing everything. And when you do that, you leave and you make yourself very mentally tired. I would just watch boxing documentary, boxing YouTube training like two or three times a day.
I called off all my other work last time. I didn't do any work. And I just purely thought about boxing. It made me very mentally exhausted. All I do now is I just train hard. I do the steps that I know I need to do to become a better boxer and improve my technique based on the issues from my last fight. Go to my trainings, make sure my cardio is in shape. It gives me great focus in my life and also focuses me on my work. This is the most content I've been putting out in a while. And the reason why it's because I'm deadly discipline in all areas of my life right now. And for anyone who's successful and you're struggling with discipline, I really hope that boxing martial arts MMA training for a fight can do the same for you. If you take it up, it can really be a life changer for you. The way you see yourself, the way your friends see you, the way you get in shape, makes you leaner, makes you more handsome, more girls want to fuck you like. There's a lot of really good parts of it. So guys, have I got any others? Yeah, it's also the biggest builder of mental resilience and dealing with pressure that you'll ever have in your life. So my message to you would be
number one, just this week, book in at your local boxing club, your local MMA club, make sure you do a striking sport and you can add your jitsu if you want and wrestling. They're very important as well. Like MMA is very, very good for actual overall combat and street fighting. Boxing is just an art to boxing, which is why I love it. But they're all very good to have a go at. So find yourself some sort of club where you can do with them all. Sign up for a membership there and just go two times a week to start and the week after go three times and fit in your training sessions for your weights around that. And I guarantee you you will become 10 times more confident. People will admire you more. You'll become more handsome. You'll do better in business and you'll do better in life. And you will overall unlock a part of you that you didn't know you had. And if they're not enough reasons on why you should fight and what happens to you when you start to fight, then I don't know what's wrong with you. Go and do it one day. You will need it one day. You will thank me. I will be showing you my series coming up of me training for my next profile.
Don't be scared of losing. Don't be scared of being embarrassed. That's an ego check. And then you only lose if you quit. And it's taken me a while to go back, but at least I haven't quit. So guys, there you go. I hope you enjoyed the video and it changed some of your perceptions. Remember, live event on Wednesday. How do you turn you improving into a business through Instagram? I will show you exactly how for free. If you take its left, check it out on Wednesday. Guys, you spend a pleasure. I'll see you soon.
