2:02Quite a long rain delay, nearly two hours in this one. But those that stayed enjoyed a Tigers victory in a series win over the Minnesota twins. Happy to have you along on the Postgame Edition. We begin where we always begin with our biggest talking point. How did the Tigers get it done? And finally, finally win a series. This is what you'll be talking about. They played up to their capabilities this series. And I said it after the win on Monday on Labor Day that the Tigers are baseball team that when they show what their potential is, or at least play up to their potential, it can be a little bit frustrating too because you think, man, this was supposed to be a playoff team. We all know how that went. Alas, it is not a playoff team. But back to the matter remains that there's still some quality baseball left for these

3:02guys to play. And today, you know, you walk through the recipe to win a baseball game and to win a series to run Homer from Colt Keith to begin the game in the first inning. That doesn't help the patients at the plate. Riley Green drawing a bases loaded walk in the third inning. And then some not only say small ball, but just productive outstingler with the sacrifice fly. And these are all characteristics of winning baseball. And as Demetrius McNeill points out, we haven't seen much of that from the Detroit Tigers. Any of it. Seven straight series losses. First team in baseball since mid August. And it's the first series they've won. And I'll go ahead and read the full comment from Demetrius McNeill here. That's one way to win a series after seven straight series losses. Enjoy the win out of the game after the day off. I'm at the Tigers game in two weeks from today. By the way, there you go. So who was at the game today? Who? I'm like an owl. And enjoyed the day game festivities. I mentioned I've got a cousin, my wife's cousin.

4:03And his girlfriend traveling, the country's stopping at different baseball games. They were at Comarica Park today going on all these different state parks. What a fun experience. And I told him you got to check out the big cat court for the best food. And they had the two hour rangel air Harbor long. It was to enjoy the park. So they certainly got to see every angle of Comarica Park. But a big win for the Detroit Tigers, the pitching staff better today. And just the two runs, give it up. A lot of that from Cater, Montero. How about Cater, Montero? And he didn't start off very well by any means. In fact, three ball counts in six of the first nine hitters he faced. But he's still able to whether the storm you would have liked to go longer, obviously. It wasn't his best outing by any means. It just gets the four innings gave up the two solo bombs. But fortunately for the Tigers, they were solo bombs. So two strikeouts as well, two earned, and then the bullpen doing what they haven't done all year. And that's shoulder in the load, taking it the rest of the way.

5:06Two quality innings from Tyler Holt. And he gets the win. He's two in five, two strikeouts in 31 pitches in the two innings. He was really good. And then Kenley for two thirds, Summers in inning, and a third, and Finnigan in the ninth. So it all relates back to complimentary baseball and making the plays on the basis, plays in the field, you have the double play there in the ninth. And you get to thinking, it's not a complicated game. Baseball is a simple game. And unfortunately so many times this year, the Tigers did make it look very simple at all. 11:26And that's why he left early. I did. Did remember handing that on the broadcast. Thank you for pointing that out. But that's a pretty good day for an English pitch. Give your team a chance to win. And then maybe you have a son or a daughter joining the world momentarily, shortly thereafter. That's what you love about baseball. I'm a Tim Kirchman used to say that. That's what I love about baseball. But appreciate everybody tuning in after a victory for the Detroit Tiger 72 after a lengthy rain delay, but they get it done. And that's what you'd love to see for Series win and a hell of a long time since early August since the bottom really fell out. But how about our turning point and this one time to reveal where the game was once or lost. It's the turning point. This is one of those games that honestly you look back and there was several different factors leading the Tigers win. But there wasn't this major overhauling it. Hey, this is where the Tigers won the game.

12:27It was just solid baseball from the Tigers from start to finish. Now at least seven guys on three for 10 with runners in scoring position. But at the end of the day, the contributors contributed Kevin McGonagall. He got around to score a run, to run score for how you lead. I can't believe I haven't mentioned him yet. He draws three walks on the day, Riley Green draws two walks. So patients at the plate, the team, the Tigers as a team, drawing eight walks. So the patients at the plate, a huge difference maker and turning point in this one for the Detroit Tigers who are still miles and miles away from contending. And I know a couple of people in the comments have mentioned that if we can play spoiler, sure, that's that's all we've got left. Moe wants to see us play spoiler for the blue jays. Sure. And our one BJ4 reiterating that we can only spoil the playoff on teams or try to. There you go. Now I did want to point out that Tigers still have the best run differential

13:27in the American League Central, which is just crazy. Actually, it's not that crazy. It just goes to show they never won any close games. They blew them all the bullpen blew them all and blown save opportunities. And that's, you know, someone were to ask you how do you summarize the Detroit Tigers season that and that quickly that's that's what you'd have to say. They couldn't hold leads and they, you know, would play good baseball for seven or eight innings and then blow it at the end. They quite literally happened to them more than anybody in all of baseball. It really wasn't close for that matter. But Tigers get the win. They got the off day tomorrow. That'll be fun. Enjoy your off day home off day is got to be nice for the players. Spend some time with the family and sleep in your own bed. Not at the word. Not have to think about baseball for a little bit. It's got to be nice. From revolts will go for the Tigers on Fridays to Colorado. Rockies come to town 641 pitch on Friday. I'm sure the Tigers have the rest of the weekend. Nobody listed for Saturday yet.
