How are you spending your time men? So what I want to talk about today? Welcome to the podcast. We tackle this topic. God willing many more the correct way with God Almighty at the center. Biblical Judeo-Christian values. Talking about how to be a man the right way in this modern world. Okay. Let's get into the topic. Now are you spending your time? It's one of the most precious commodities. Culture would probably have you chasing after a dollar, fiat currency or stuff. But if you won't listen to me how about Solomon? Why Solomon? Well, because he was, except for Jesus Christ, God made flesh, who obviously knows more.

But as far as men go, regular men, not God men, not God, not the God man, Jesus Christ, the smartest man that ever lived, the wisest man that ever lived, and the richest man as far as earthly wealth goes that ever lived. Go look in the Old Testament about the amount of gold that he got paid him, just attribute every year. It's staggering. He had a thousand wives and concubines combined. He had incalculable wealth. Whatever his eyes desired, he didn't refuse them. He said, and what did he say about all that vanity, all his vanity and grasping for the wind? It's also written naked we came into this world and naked we're going out. And we will die one day, all likelihood. And the entire Bible only two men that I'm aware of never died. Enoch and Elijah. Elijah was taken up and Enoch, it's his walk with God and was no more.

But apart from that, everybody else has died that I'm aware of that's written about. Even Jesus, he didn't stay dead. He was resurrected, but he died. Chances are we're going to die, unless Jesus returns first and however you're as Catholic he goes, but not all likelihood we're going to die. Naked we came into this world and naked we're going out of it. Now Solomon also wrote, nothing is better for a man than to eat and drink and enjoy the good of his labor. So enjoy the stuff while you have it. Enjoy it. It's good things are a gift from God. If you didn't get them with ill gotten gain, then enjoy them. But realize their futility and their fleeting nature. When I fell into this, I was not a Christian growing up and I grew up a Christian. I grew up a heathen, I guess is the best way to describe it. But I thought it was a poor boy in the South of the F.I. just got money and a good job and all this stuff that I'd be happy and I got all this stuff and I was more miserable than before because I couldn't figure out why I was miserable. Because all that stuff doesn't really matter. If you're looking for happiness and stuff, for happiness and the amount of money that you

make, you think that's going to give you some kind of self worth, it's just not going to. It's all fleeting. It doesn't really matter. You don't have it, but one day probably we're all going to die and you're not certainly not taking any of that with you. So keep it in perspective. Time is valuable. How are you spending your time? You can spend it. Watching other people do stuff or doing stuff. That's a big category. I think a lot of times today, especially with the, you know, since television, it's probably gotten worse in social media. I don't have social media. I don't even have television, but it grew up with a television. And man, you can spend a lot of your time watching television and watching your life go by. And again, one day you're going to be dead. You're going to be like, man, I really wish I had finished every episode of Friends or I'm dating myself, but whatever show is popular on TV now, you can be like, man, I really

wish I'd got to see every episode of that three times over. Probably not, right? Are you really going to be on your deathbed thinking I really wish I knew more about team X, you know, when I was watching all those millionaires chase balls on a field? Because that's what you're doing. If you're watching football, just realize you're watching a bunch of millionaires chase a ball. And if you're fine with that, okay, how much of your life time are you going to spend watching millionaires chase balls on a field? Because none of that really matters. You think that one day when you're on your deathbed, you're going to be like, man, I really wish that I had watched more of this. I'm not getting nothing against football. I don't mind playing football. I prefer rugby. I played rugby for a bit growing up, but I don't watch rugby. I want because I don't have a TV in too, because even if I did, I don't want to watch other guys play sports. I'd rather go out and do something myself. How are you spending your time? An increasingly sedatory world, do you need more time sitting when you're but watching

a screen in the world of where you generally have a screen all the time in front of you? Do you need more time in front of the screen? Sometimes the answer could be yes. Like if you're convalescing, if you're injured, like you have a, you know, a twist at ankle and you're like, this weekend, I need to take it easy. Yeah, maybe that's fine. But in general, how are you spending that time? Do you need more time in front of the screen in your life? Or do you need more time out in fresh air? You know, you're going to spend that time watching a nature documentary, which is probably one of the better things you could watch if you had television. Are you going to spend an hour out in nature? One of those is probably better than the other. Right? Social media. How much time are you going to spend on social media? I briefly got on social media because I had the podcast, several podcasts and I was like, I should probably, you know, get into the social media thing for promoting the podcast. I quickly got off social media and have not been back on it, including YouTube because I think it's a giant time vampire.

It's a suck of my time. And it's called doom scrolling for a reason. I don't know who coined that term, but it pretty accurately describes what you're doing. You're just doom and gloom scrolling. You're being programmed. It's called programming, right? You're being programmed. Being, you know, played on your emotions, this thing versus that thing. Look at the attention spans of what people have gone to nowadays. How about reading a book or listening to an audiobook story being told like long form? If you are in a situation where you can't be outside doing something or can't be working out or, you know, working with your hands or whatever the case is, how about an audiobook? How about a podcast? There's a reason I do a podcast. There's a reason I stop doing like the YouTube stuff. I think the host rips these and puts them on YouTube, but they're podcasts. I did a couple of shorts and they did really well and I thought that's not the kind of person I want to be. And I don't want to promote shorts. I don't want to promote short attention span dancing monkey type content. I just don't want to do it. And I don't want to promote people spending their time that way.

What are we doing? Read a book. Listen to a book. By guys, guys, try and read the Bible every day. I think you should too. Would you rather spend, you got a 15 minute break. Would you rather spend it reading the Bible? Would you rather spend it doom scrolling? Which one of those looking back 10 years from now, are you going to wish that you had done more of? You're like, man, I really wish I'd spent more time doom scrolling. Are you going to be like, man, I really wish that I had a better understanding of the Bible, the instruction manual for human beings and how to live our life here on earth. Really wish I had a better grasp of knowledge and wisdom on what's true. Probably that. And I'm really glad I spent all that time doom scrolling on TikTok or whatever it is. Again, time is a valuable commodity. How are you spending it? How about building useful skills? I don't care how many, like I'm a survivalist, a prep or a don't shy away from that. I like to, I was just out spent last weekend in the River and over term wilderness, one of the largest wilderness areas in the country.

Just using like bushcraft in its example. Like you could watch all the TikTok videos you want and you might, you know, see some cool stuff on there, but you could watch 100 videos on how to make a fire. But until you're cold and wet and it's raining and you're in the wilderness, you actually have to go out and learn to make a fire. That's like a skill that you need to know how to do. And actually, no, yeah, in this environment, you know, the dead spruce boughs on the bottom of the spruce tree are probably dry even though it's been raining a long time and I can probably use those for tender. You watching a bunch of bushcraft from people around the world may not be applicable very much to you in your situation. Skill building, something as basic as making a fire. You can watch all the videos you want about this shooting technique or that shooting technique on a professional gun fighter have been most of my adult life, military law enforcement, private security contracting, and all that's fine, but it's just pie in the sky until you put your hands to it until you actually go out and shoot. You could be able to spot out all the proper techniques and hand position and this thing

and that thing, but you actually have to shoot to be good at shooting. So are you actually getting out and shooting if that's the skill that you can develop and want to develop? I'm not saying if you're struggling with something, look up, you know, what's the proper grip tension for this? That's fine. You actually have to go on and practice it because just because somebody else says it or somebody on an internet says it doesn't mean that it's going to work at all period and it certainly doesn't mean it's going to work for you in your situation. So get out there and do it. We're called to be fruitful and that applies to many different areas in life, but being fruitful and having dominion, those are some like basic instructions from God. When I get that we can't always spend the time exactly how we want to, we're also called to, right by this whatever brow we should lead our bread. I get that. We have to work. We have to make money and do those things, but when you have some control over how you're

going to spend your time, are you spending it fruitfully? One of the prayers that I've been praying lately is to be more fruitful with my time, how I spend it. I want the same for you because you shall love your neighbor as yourself. How are we spending our time, men? I don't know how many days we have on this earth. I don't know how many days you have on this earth, but every day that we have is one day less until we die. How are you spending that time? It's a precious commodity. Exercise some self discipline and what you consume. Jesus says the eye is the lamp of the body. Be careful what you're looking at, what you're spending your time looking at over and over and over again. It influences you, right? That term influences. Who are you being influenced by? Is that a positive, good thing? How are you spending your time? Easy is not always the best road, right?

Easy and broad is the way that leads to destruction. Many go that way. This is not a show, but it made me think of, like let's say, just food. Like junk food is cheap and easy to consume. It's convenient. It's cheap. It's easy. It's not good for you to consume. Spending your time is often the same way. Now there's a time for leisure. We're commanded to rest on the Sabbath day and I encourage you to rest. Rest is more than just the body rest. But with how you spend your time, you get an hour or two at the end of the day. And then you spend your work day before you have to go to bed. It's easy to sit down and veg out in front of the television. It's harder to go work out, which one of those is better for you, which one of those looking back in 10 years. God willing, we have 10 years from now to look back on. Are you going to be like, man, I really wish I'm really glad that I've veg out for two hours and drank a six pack every day after work. Are you going to be, man, I'm really glad that I worked out so I'm not old and decrepit and leaning over, you know, 10 years from now.

How are you spending your time? I don't know you. I don't know your situation. I don't know how you spend your time. Certainly I'm not perfect. I waste more time than I probably should or do more on fruitful things than I probably should. But we can all do better. And this is my encouragement for all of us to do better. So again, how are you spending your time? I don't know you. I don't know what you should or shouldn't be doing or how well you're doing this. But again, a simple lib mistest, are we being fruitful with our time? Can we be more fruitful? Can we do more fruitful things with our time? And instead of what feels good right now, maybe a good thing, looking back if God willing, we have 10 years. If we look back 10 years from now with the habits we have day to day, will we be happy with those? Will we be satisfied with how we're spending our time? And I think that that's enough on the point, but I hope that it encourages us all to be better. I want us all to be better men. Please let all close us out with the tactical verse of the day.

Enter by the narrow gate for wide as the gate and broad as the way that leads to destruction. And there are many who go in by it. Because the narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life. And there are few who find it. Thanks for listening and have a blessed day.
