Titans Trade for Solomon Thomas, Bolstering Defense with Saleh's Familiar Faces

On March 12, the Tennessee Titans just made another move to stock up on familiar faces, trading with the Dallas Cowboys for defensive lineman, Solomon Thomas.

The deal swapped seventh round picks according to reports, bringing the total of ex-New York Jets players on the Titans roster to three this.

Offseason, all three, Solomon Thomas, Dermain Johnson the second, and John Franklin Myers, played under Robert Salah during his time as Jets head coach.

Salah, who got fired midseason last year, took over as Titans head coach in January after a year back as defensive coordinator with the San Francisco 49ers.

Thomas spent three seasons with the Jets from 2022 to 2024, overlapping with Salah's full tenure there.

Last season, he appeared in 16 games for the Cowboys, notching 27 tackles.

Beyond the players, two Jets defensive line coaches from Salah staff, Aaron Wycotton and Tanzel Smart are now in Tennessee too, making five total.

Ex Jets on the team. Salah says he's ready to call the defensive place himself this time around, unlike in New York, where he handed off those duties.

With this crew in place, Salah looks set to rebuild the Titans defense using players and coaches he knows well, aiming for fresh start and music.
