This is the Alcohol Free Lifestyle podcast where you learn to live a life of health,
wealth, love, and happiness. Welcome to the Alcohol Free Lifestyle podcast. I'm coach Jason. I'm here
with Brittany. Hey, my friend. How are you? I'm doing well. How are you? I'm good. I'm good. We're
of course here at a conference. We have a live studio audience. We're having a good time. Great
This has been amazing. But where I want to start with you is I would like to start with when
you made that decision. When you were like, huh, yes, this is the time. This is the time.
That's a great question, Jason. I actually had a patient. I don't have Facebook and I had a patient
who was telling me that he had just joined a program. This has been a patient of 12 years of
mine and he said he just joined a program and I said he was so excited to tell me. He's like a
quit drinking alcohol and I joined a program and I was like, oh, really? What what's programs
that? And he's like, it's called Alcohol Free Lifestyle and I was like, oh, really? Tell me more
because I can't divulge. I mean, you know, professionality and everything and holding that space
for him with credibility and everything and I was like, tell me more and then he told me about
it and I was like, oh, thank you. And so then that day I looked it up and then I gave a call and
it resonated. It just, it fell in my lap kind of, but then I looked it up and got a call lined up
and and yeah, so I made the decision kind of then. Yeah. Yeah. Well, you and I, I'm going to,
I'm going to dig into the words you use because you and I talk a lot about faith and spiritual.
I think it's where we've developed a camaraderie. Do you really believe that it just fell in your lap?
No. No. Why not? It felt like it fell in my lap. It was, it was actually very serendipitous though.
It was really beautiful how it, how it came. It was like it was meant to be. It was, it was,
it was definitely divine timing. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. What did look like, life looked like for you
internally before? I was kind of at my breaking point. I had just became an empty
nester this last year and it was a big year in dealing with the grief, grief and loss.
A lot of a lot of really dark. It was really dark. And there was a lot of times I couldn't even
show it for my patients because I couldn't show it for myself. So I knew something had to give
or I was going to or everything was going to just crumble. If that makes any sense. Yeah.
Well, I know. And again, you always have a part site and I skip over that, but in the time I've
gotten it, it's got to spend almost six months, huh? You speak, when you speak of your kids,
it shines through. Why did that, why did that feel like such a grief for you that that transition
them go? I mean, was it, was it because of how much your heart and how much you put into them?
What, what, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm close to it. Granted, I think it's different for
fathers than mothers that emptiness phase. Part of me is like, cool, I can start what we're doing
this with my money and that. And you know, the dynamic is going to shift. What I see,
it's different with mothers and fathers for sure. I think just devoting my entire life to my,
to my kids, they're my everything. And then all of a sudden, they're not, I'll always be their
mother, but they're not there for me to cook and clean for. And it's just like, well, what's my
purpose? You know, and so it's a real identity kind of not crisis, but time to, and I know that
I'm not alone in this. It is other mothers that have said, like, some of my patients that they've
also became emptinessers in the last several years. And they've kind of said the same thing, like,
oh, my goodness, this is a year. And this is a huge transition because it's time to, like,
discover who I am, like, rediscover, like, find myself. If I actually ever did that, I don't know.
You know, this isn't the huge we were talking earlier about, like, looking in the mirror and
like talking to myself. And it's kind of like, you know, it's just, it's just a, it's the self-exploration,
you know, self-actualization. It's like, it almost feels like Maslow's higher giving me, like,
really getting to levels of deep awareness with yourself, like you're forced into that. I mean,
it's just nature and what happened, but I'm grateful. I'm so grateful. Like, it's, it's all just
aligned in, in such perfect flow, like, you know, universal alignment.
Well, and I mean, I know for me, when I became a father, alcohol was already a struggle,
I should have recognized quite, you know, no, I shouldn't. I'm grateful for I am wrong-worthy.
I did recognize that it was probably well before I did anything about it, but with that said,
as I, you know, I've shared with you, went through divorce and all that, it was really that
identity crisis, right? Like, who am I? And how did making that decision to become alcohol-free
actually help you explore who you are? Not just, not just who you are, acceptance of who you were,
decisions you made based on the information that you had, the coping strategies, and how that's
looking forward now. I feel like that's a loaded question, but-
Okay, well, multidimensional, like, I'm not leading you in the world. I'm not
looking at it, turning yourself into it. It's not some depth to it, but no, it's, it's beautiful.
I, I feel like, like, I'm sorry, I lost my thought. No, take your time. It is, I guess I did
a lot of layers here. It's okay, um, especially with the kids,
choosing to alcohol-free has largely impacted them already, even though, because they see me,
and it has been about six months, and, you know, Christmas and New Year's and Thanksgiving,
and them seeing me not drinking and being around me, and I feel like they're getting more and more
assurance to know this is real. Like, this is getting- like, my son knows, you know?
And that feels good. Like, the relationship with the kids has gone so much better.
Not just better. That's, that's a very like, you know, that's not a very descriptive word,
but it's, it's- the relationship with the kids has, oh man, it's been amazing to-
to have- we've had so much healing, you know? Like, especially with my son, and him coming to work
for me the last year, it's been an opportunity for us to heal, and I wouldn't have that
opportunity if it wasn't for AFL. I mean, if I didn't choose to- to sign up, and if it wasn't here,
I don't want to know where I would be, because the blessings, the amount of blessings that have
come into my life since I joined the program, this alcohol-free lifestyle program, has been- it's
almost like I feel like this is going to sound weird, but I'm like choking on blessings. I'm like,
you know, because they're coming so fast. Like, my new- my- my new avenue, as my shaman called it,
my new venue, and it's like all these beautiful blessings, and- and, you know, just thoughts of-
of opening another practice. Like, that was- I just wanted to stay afloat, and keep the one I had,
and I was barely able to do that, and now it's like, in just six months, you know, things have
really just turned around. So, I'm very grateful. Yeah, we had a conversation about-
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
I'm in this place, but I've got this opportunity to really expand, and I don't know if I have the
capacity to do it, and- and I- correct me if I'm wrong, it was almost around the- when it was the
doubt. Like, I don't know that this is the right time, and maybe we- I said something, but I remember
you actually coming to the conclusion of, uh, if not now, when, and will this be another thing,
I just have a vision for myself of- and never take action around. Yes. Yes. I remember that
conversation, and thank you. You've been a really integral part of my journey in AFL, so thank you
so much. Yeah. I appreciate you. Hey, James Swannick here. Are you ready to quit drinking?

You're freedom from alcohol starts now. So, uh, well, how does it feel that you've made that
decision, and now you're thriving, because we were talking earlier today, and I want to get
to do it like, uh, you were challenged for what then does the future, like this beautiful vision,
which I'll talk more about that, but let's- let's stay in the present. How does it feel that?
Yeah, you did it. It feels so good. I can't tell you, every day I go to work, and I look at this
space, and it's such a sacred space. I feel so great. It's not just me, but my staff as well.
We just look at each other, and we just have the biggest smiles on our faces, and we're just like,
and she's smiling, and I- it's just the energy exchange with my patients. The feedback I'm
getting from them is they're just like, I'm so happy for you, Brittany. Like some of them
have been with me for 12 years. And so, they come to this new place, and they're just like,
oh my gosh, and it's just cool. It's like that connection, and that celebration of, um, and it's not
just- I mean, it's not about me. It's- it's really the community, and what it brings, and for- for
the access for people to have functional medicine. And so, again, it's- it's just- it's really cool.
Yeah. Uh, one more thing I want to touch before we talk about, like, the- the future vision,
and your act of creating. Uh, uh, there was another pinpoint about that struggle, uh, a challenge,
I don't want to call it struggle, but, um, where your resonance, your frequency shifted because
we had a conversation. I was like, I keep attracting the wrong person people to come,
work with me in this and embrace this vision. And we have an added opportunity to tell this recording
now for you to share with me. No, I've got these people now, and it's like- it's like team community.
It is team community, and it's also been- it's also been- it's also been a struggle. I mean,
just the other day, I had to let a gal go that I was really excited. It was her fourth day with me,
so I just had hired her, and we went through the training, but I have- I would like to share this,
if it's okay. Sure. Um, what's new, and actually it reminds me of Coach Terry was talking about-
she's had like 10 years now to listen to her intuition, and were you there for that? Yeah.
Was she saying that, like, after 10 years, it's easier and easier and easier, and you guys will
get there too. And I feel like that exact situation, um, at work, where the longer I'm out
of free, and the more I listen to my intuition, the easier it is. And so even though there is staffing
struggles, um, I'm less earlier and more often, I'm listening to that intuition that says,
this is going to work or this isn't. So I guess my point is that intuition coming through and
listening, and if I wasn't in tune with myself, um, my higher self, and aligned there,
then I wouldn't be able to connect. An alcohol was what was in enabling me to connect with my
higher self, and my higher power. Inhibiting. And yes, thank you. Thank you. Yeah. Uh, a future
vision. Um, well, I'm not exactly sure, but I have a dream to open a practice in Sedona, Arizona.
I love it. Sedona. So yeah. Would you have had that? Did you have that vision, uh, that vision
prior? Absolutely not. No. Not at all. Not at all. It was all survival mode. Yes. 100%. Yeah.
I don't know if I'd have my practice today if I didn't. Yeah. Joy AFL. Wow. So or my kids or
anything in my life, I mean, I was got, got pretty, pretty, pretty dark there. Yeah. I know we had
both shared and we won't dig into that, but it definitely had this, uh, as it does for many,
a tremendously huge impact on our mental health, our self perception and, uh, the inability to
even see if we have a value in this world and what's the point, right? Um, yeah. Hmm. Okay. We
could go down that road, but I'm not going to do it because I don't want to cry. Am I already
crying today? So, uh, a couple more questions, uh, authentic joy. What does it mean to you now?
It's more of a feeling. It's like a piece around my, um, heart chakra, like just a warm feeling.
Yeah. I've challenged everybody to, uh, curiosity and especially exploration, uh,
jump back to like when you're a kid, the things you love to do. Did that show up for you in that,
in your journey? Well, yes. I bought another pair of roller skates and I was in Hawaii,
and I'm excited to go roller skating. Is that what you mean or no? Okay. Okay. Yeah. Okay. I'm
really not that. Just for fun. Not competitive. I'm not nothing like that. It's just like,
I love roller skates. So I got a new pair. What did that start? Um, well, I just bought the skates
a couple months ago when I was in Hawaii. So it was on this, but I mean, like, when back when
you were a kid, you were just for fun. Like I've known, like, you know, yeah, yeah, the roller,
the roller rinker one. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like how cool? It's just simple. Mm-hmm. Or sometimes in
the backyard, you know, on my roller blades in California, then we're growing up in the backyard.
That's right. Yeah. That's right. Do you find that that, that, that, just, uh, connecting to joy,
so much more simpler? Yes. And I feel like I can do it anywhere. Um, but I just close my,
eyes and connect in. Yeah. And that feels good. Last question. Uh, if somebody was, uh,
that's listening is sitting on that fence or is, uh, done the, uh, I know you have, and I have,
and many other, uh, well, I can moderate. Uh, and they're just not willing to make that full
commitment. What might you share with them just from your own personal journey and perspective?
And how much things have changed, evolved, continued to grow, prosperity,
coming, showing up in ways, maybe you didn't picture before. What would you say to them?
What I've learned in AFLs, and I'm not done learning, that's for sure, but that it's a mindset,
really, and the alcohol is just a symptom, and I really don't even think about alcohol anymore.
But what I've gotten from this program is so much deeper than that. It's so much bigger than that.
Um, because like I hardly ever think about alcohol now, but I, I've, I've grown so much. So for
me, it's like, I'm, does that make any sense? Yes. Okay. Um, so for me, this program really has
been a code of business coaching, not just business, but personal life relationships, um, I've grown
so much in the last six months that I can't imagine not having this program in my life because
it has changed so much for me, so much. Alcohol aside, I'm, I'm trying to connect in with that
piece of me that used to want to drink, and I can, but at the same time, it's like, wow,
this is just an even like my, my shaman would talk about it, you know, my life coach, and she,
she's like, wow, this program is really doing a lot for you. Keep going. It's cute. In my kids too,
they're super supportive. So it feels almost like two lives. It's almost like, you know,
and I know I know I'm not disassociated from that. Yeah. I'm very present. In fact, I'm more
present than I've ever been in my life. And for a large part, I do think the program for that.
Yeah. In the coaches. Yeah. And it is, it is a really interesting part of the journey where you
almost feel you live two lives. And you know, when we were, uh, having one of our group sessions in
James Wanwick, the founder, you know, chimed in about the fact that 99% of people will not fully
embrace this journey. And, you know, and to that point, it is really fascinating what it gives us.
It gives us a different look. It's, it's my word, you tell me your experience.
Gives us a different level of empathy, love, trust, compassion, because it's almost like
we can embrace our light because we've definitely walked through the dark.
I like that. I would second that. It's beautiful. Thank you. Anything else you want to share
my friend. I don't think so. I'm just very grateful. So thank you so much. Thank you. Thanks for
