I'm a goddamn human pignata Hello everybody and welcome to TMS. This is the morning stream. That's TMS is short for that, you know Oh I never made that connection. Yeah, acronym not an initial no way it isn't initialism It's an initialism. Yeah, cuz you can't you don't pronounce yeah, I feel like every couple years

We have to remind ourselves how to remind myself Brian has no problem distinguishing between the two for whatever reason I bring it up a lot Anyway, welcome to it. I'm Scott Johnson. That's Brian Ibit. Hi Brian yellow yellow Good morning, sir. We're gonna do a show, you know, why not we're here freaking Wednesday It's it's also a good reminder. I need to check so we did Jeopardy last night Or did trivia last night, but it's the Jeopardy Bar League where we almost looks like I'm gonna say barley Jeopardy Bar League Yep, where we're competing against a bunch of other teams. I'm curious if they've got our Scores in from last night added to the standings does not look like they do Have to do you think we won. Yeah, we beat the second place team by about 40,000 points. It's a lot of it It is a lot and here's what we found out is that this Jeopardy Bar League So this is the second edition of the of this league first edition

When you Played if you got first place you got three points but if you played and didn't get first place you got one point and And then if there was a tie like if there were a lot of people with you know who would want every game and had three points across the board Then they start looking at the scores like how much You made in total over the course of the game and that's how we played the first two games We thought all right as long as we win that's important. It's not you know, we don't need to to um Spike the ball and get massive amounts of points. No Second league second barley is not about winning it is all about the points you can lose And still have enough points to To still top the league if you've won other nights, which is kind of cool It makes it so that if you have a bad night and you don't You don't win, but you still get a lot of points um

Then you you still have a chance of winning the full league and so we now we're like we're going all in on every daily double Uh, because that ensures points right yeah, because that ensures points as long as we get the question right otherwise it ensures zero That's the other that's what it ensures if we're not if we don't go um and then going all in on final jeopardy So our final score last night With a question uh to honor its holiest fan this MLB team hosted Pope hat night on august 11th, 2026 See if I can get even guessed this Pope hat night this year. Pope Pope hat night to honor its holiest fan Yeah, oh probably the You said MLB so Chicago Cubs That is incorrect. Ah the other Chicago team the white socks damn it Yeah, I thought he was a cubs fan crap. No, he's a white socks fan So we doubled our 160,000 points to get 320 and um and then one the one the evening

um the team that's currently leading the league Is a team called snuchy bouches Um and they have 715,000 200 points for the first two weeks we have 368,850 points So I'll give you a link if you want to show this Yeah, yeah, I can learn I'm into it I should probably open discord there we go. Oh, yeah, yeah, this is rumble put it. Oh, there it is. There you go That's right snuchy bouches. Oh, yeah Yeah 10 grand in prizes man. That's right um really they've up to 30 grand I think this time around they just haven't updated that but so national um snuchy bouches in second place Behind the team from marys villa, Ohio if you scroll down nationally were like um what Oh, wait too far wait too far We are there it is right there team 10 uh in the four-month or question there it is

Because we have to work the word mothra and everything so Instead of being instead of saying in the form of a question we do in the four-month or question Yeah, it would sound like you're saying it wrong if you didn't know any better like it just sounds exactly messed up But if you go to if you scroll back up to the top and choose um just the Denver market Then we're a third place nice and um and we've scored another 320 thousand last night So we're still even even if they got snuchy bouches even if they got zero last night We're still behind them, but we're ahead of uh I wonder if we're ahead of the nomads now we'd be just behind the nomads with The man's right ahead of you or six hundred and eighty thousand special shout out to six ranked Colorado team snake toz magey I like Fantastic name. That was a great name. Yeah, there's some really good ones in here Hit it in quidditch is pretty good. Yeah, turn up for what? It's good Wings Wild Buffalo is weird because that's just so on the nose you're at the Buffalo Wildways

Exactly, it's just the name backwards and it's like they didn't even try. Yeah, I don't like those scores I mean, it's like they just showed up and and decided to play it wasn't like they're really going for the uh Uh going for the the minis well nice. Look at you guys climbing them ranks like peruge. Yeah, let's hope Let's hope we can uh take first and get some get some dough in our wallets. Yeah, nothing wrong with that um I Want to celebrate something today on nine Of the year 2026 Yeah, nine nine of uh, let me find this thing real quick. What was that called? That was not oh, I don't have it here Do I never mind. I won't be playing that Anyway, uh happy Uh dreamcast day to everybody who celebrates you don't have a c-man that sound clip the week you use now It's hoping I have I thought I just had the intro noise that the dreamcast made When we put time for you to give me some food Haha, let me oh, I know what I'll do here we go. Yeah, we'll just play this

Nice there you go one of the greatest consoles ever say his final hurrah was really good uh 99999 so when that came out Was an amazing date to have for your race that perfect date. It's almost like you just say let's delay or just so we can land it on 999 yeah, and they don't do that enough anymore like the last big one I can think of was Skyrim was 11 11 2011. Oh really? Okay Other than that like these two things like mortal Monday was the mortal combat release day Well, it's also kind of difficult when you don't have Month number 26 while that's true 26 26 26 26. Yeah, it's all that is true. You have to really strike while the irons hot but um Yeah, there was a pretty good one What was this couple years ago when uh when starfield or yeah, starfield was supposed to release and they ended up delaying it but the date was amazing. It was like Oh, what was it like 12 12 22 or something like it's all these all the twos

And then they skipped it because they're buttholes Haha and Q stars right valheim 1.0 is today. So what do we call that today's Wednesday? So valheim It's what when's hot nope. It's vales day nope. It's uh when's time when's time Nailed it. Yeah, there you go. So anyway, okay, congratulations on not succeeding Sega and having Sony eat your lunch back in 9 of 9 of 99 Favorite favorite favorite drink cast game. Do you have one? Uh yes Oh, it's your chuchu rocket. I love chuchu rocket. I did too actually Not gonna lie. I love chuchu rocket. I love the there was a racing game with all of the um like penalty pit stop and uh Snag that snaggle pus uh What the heck was that thing called um, I don't know. Oh the wacky racers those guys wacky wacky racers. Yeah. Yeah That that game I freaking loved because it was sell shaded but it was still and it was it you know it was uh

muttley thank you tv's travesty. I hate that guy but yes he was in it. I think for me it was probably a toss up between soul caliber and This sounds boring, but I played a lot of virtual tennis Yeah, that game was great. Yeah, nothing wrong with that at all. Jetset radio, Riz Jetset radio was great Yeah, another another really cool 3d but sell shaded um style on that. Oh code Veronica was real good Yeah, there are a lot of I have a lot of fun power stums good. Sonic adventure was all right and had some problems Shenmue I never really got I didn't understand it was so boring to me But it's an important game in the gaming history, but dreamcast catch it. It's available Go go pick one up at your local game stop go grab and way more than you should pay for it Oh, yeah, captain caveman was in that too and that wacky racers. Yeah, yeah, I think it's on cartoon too, right? He did yeah, oh yeah, captain

It was him and like a bunch of teens a bunch of hot teenagers Where was speed buggy was that its own thing or was he also speed buggy was its own thing too and that was like Yeah, exactly. Yeah, and it was it was like Every archetype from Scooby-Doo was replaced it would have a version on speed buggy is like your your Fred had a there was a Fred equivalent and a Daphne equivalent and yeah, speed buggy was even didn't Casey Kassam do a voice on speed buggy tour now Oh, he might have he did all he was so much all up in that Yeah, he might have been yeah, I don't know But uh, but yeah, look Look back on 99 with fondness every betting was a good time good year You got the matrix that year you got you got the dreamcast what out one of their cool thing happened in 99 we had we had Y2K freak out that was fun. That's right. Yeah, yeah, that was fun That was really dumb as what it was it was really dumb, but I mean you know there were

It was it was us getting worried about it that did fix some problems before they came up I mean the fact that that you know there were some computer systems that would have had problems When the clock rolled over but it was nothing like oh my god the power is gonna go out and it's gonna be mayhem and blah blah No, it's just the fact that people said oh yeah, good thing we're bringing this up because our Our thing will flip over to zero and Kassam sorting problems if we don't turn it into a four digit code Yeah, but everyone loves a good apocalypse so they do so they just glum down don't like it was gonna be Yeah, it was dumb our company freaked out too, but like kept going you guys. There's no big deal go change these three digits It's not a big deal that we don't even have that much stuff is that much where yeah, but you know we're hearing things like Brab brab like no no And the next day they were all like Calling me because we were I was kind of in charge of IT there and they would call me and go So we told you everything is everything okay. This is very way along like it's two in the morning Why are you calling me this early? Right. We got to make sure all the systems are right or other systems like yes

They're fine like I told you they were fine. They were fine before they're fine now you weirdos Uh, hey, have a look here. Here's the copy of here's a I would put in our thing as well our discord But here's the speed buggy crew Oh, yeah, we're all there really a bunch um Tinker is is Shagi tinker has got to be Shagi's brother from another mother 100 percent yeah We're just missing the girl that loses their glasses. What's it? There's no valma And I'll find a Velma but tinker Debbie and Mark freaking Mark just grew net Fred It really is it's instead of wearing an ass cut. He's got this like a stripy Nehru jacket. Yeah, yeah, they were really they were mining the They weren't working all that hard fact. No, they really weren't Well Hannah and Barbara you did it good job guys Gosh speed buggy. I guess we're gonna go check out the abandoned amusement park The the card is anything that made it's high or anything right it was like a

Bucky snacks or something right? Just like you know, so dumb 1048 motor oil or something. I love it Well guys listen, we got some good news for you. Yeah, we got a guy coming on that you know The end that you like you enjoy you might even love him. Yeah, I love them. I love him too And very manly love what kind of way sure sure we're gonna we're gonna bring them appropriately Yeah, and we're gonna bring him in like a like a real man This Johnson music find it. Hey everybody welcome to another edition of Ted Pulle-Feed and joining us is Brian Dunnaway like he always does on Friday or Wednesday whatever day it is. Hi. Hello Oh, Scott. Hey man. Hey man. What's going on? Are you smelling are you smelling burning toast? I'd feel like it some days It doesn't feel like when the burning toast that the rock is cooking. I could smell There was a guy at the gym who I could smell now. He did not smell bad He smelled like kind of aqua velvet like old school cologne After shavvy, but he was like 70 something. There's always these old guys in the morning

Yeah, I was not on him, but I was next to him and his hair. He had this like loose Hulk Hogan-ish more like dober from coach hair remember dober Yeah, he had that yeah, he was rocking it and it would like move with his he did move his head and the hair would like shift around like a chandelier It was great. Oh, she's super fun super fun Anyway, it's the worst yeah, well you the worst and the best all the same time Whoever says the guy would know hair. Hi. Yeah. Hey look. I shaved it off so the people wouldn't say boy Brian has the worst hairdo I like Brian's look now he has no due Yeah, is it a no is it a no-do? No dude hairdo? No-do. Hey, I don't know if you heard it done away But we were talking earlier about how speed buggy is basically just lifted right out of Scooby-do Scooby-do. Yeah, speed speed buggy Yeah, it's the same right it's the same damn cartoon one to car ones a dog It's good to do, but they figured out a way to eliminate the redundancy of Velma

We need somebody who loses their glasses constantly now. Let's skip it this time. Yeah, let's just you know We don't want to pay a fuss the fourth person to do Don't be a work. Well anyway, you're here. That means a game. We're gonna play a game down Brian done away is here. I meant to say Brian. If it will explain the game It's ready and I will stop talking Brian take it away and when megas you're not wrong I actually have a no Velma is hot and and I've got some people have created 3d models of Velma that I feel I feel Creepy about printing Anyway, it's time to play the tadpulley feud I've surveyed the tadpull on some nerdy topics. It's got branding enough to predict the answers that they gave us It's their job to see how many of those answers they can guess at the end of the game We're gonna add up all the points and the winner will actually be winning prizes for their listener contest to listen You repeat this thing week after week. You've got to inject something else into it Now it's time to sound like a hill melee Exactly, I would not I would not do well as a rock star who has to sing the same thing one hit wonder every time they appear in brancin

I love it when they get bitter about it too because we're just never to hear the song Play the song Dumbass song again. Oh, yeah, I guess it sucks for you People scream in for freebird you know they hey play in free bird You know, you know who embraces it? Tonloch he begins and ends his concert with funky cold Not wild thing but funky cold madina He probably does he probably does wild thing twice as well. I like that song. It's like, let's play it again just for the people of mighty came in late. I don't know where my bread is buttered. Yeah, that's right. Anyway, hey, our supporters on Patreon at patreon.com slash TMS. Got you're going to be playing for Gina pride. Yeah, we just talked about her yesterday. It's the end of the show. That's certainly did. Did you like that request? Yeah, it was really good. I went and checked it out later. It was fantastic. Very good set. And whoops, I've changed pages because I forgot to get the prize in our brand. You're playing for Jacob Grant. Jacob Grant, very good. Yes.

Jacob and some. Oh, yeah. The Yackel, but a cold bow. Alright, if you guys finally logged into the game here, do do do do do do. There you are. Yes. Yep. I know. Listen, when we started playing the Brian Dennelly music, I know this is nobody that logged in yet. So like, oh, do I do I have the right page open today and I do. Alright, if you guys are ready, go ahead and put your hands on your buzzers and give me your answer to this. We have 455 tadpullers. What is the most hated profession? Scott was insured was going to give it to me dentistry. Dentist show me dentist Brian, four answers will beat it. What is the most hated? Yeah, but yeah, but is that your answer? But like, like who hates it? Like he did by he did by their customers or or the guy who they were. He did by others and not by the. I got you. I got you. Right. Right. All right. You called it a job.

Profession. Yeah. Yeah. Profession. Then we got to go everybody hates the politics. Yeah. So yeah, political any political position. Show me politics. No, all the Tishin number two. Yes. And that gives you control of the board. Let's close. Let's not clarify. Let's state for the record that we don't hate any people who do these jobs because they're people except we might hate some people. But. Yeah. But. But if you're a listener, if you're a listener and you happen to be a dentist and I know of one very specific one that listens, we don't hate you. No, we think you do a valuable service to the. That's right. I thought you were apologize to the politician. You're apologizing to the dentist. Oh, I got you. Yeah. Yeah. To dentist. Yes. And there's other. There's other ones in here that's like, yeah, you know, sometimes you, you, you, you know, you get a job that maybe other people don't like and dirty job. Someone's got to do it. Right. Exactly. But there might also be some in here that's like, no, you deserve

some hatred. You're. Here's what most politicians are to begin with. Is it. Oh, yeah. Wow. Show me. I'm number one answer on the board. That felt to stereotype to me. I guess it's still. Yeah. It's still. You know, you see those commercials on TV still. And did you get injured in the back? It was not your fault. Yeah. Call me today. Those guys, they have such a lock on the billboard market, man. They've got a billboard every city you go to 400 billboards are donated to some law firm. Yeah. Do you guys have like all the people around here? They, they seem to somehow secure the phone numbers like just dial all the trees or hey, just dial all nine. We've got. Dude, dude here in Colorado, the strong arm. Can't remember his actual book. Whatever his name is.

But he says dial three million dial three or three three million. Oh, no. That's actually three or zero. We're not the comma. Something. Some old lady's going to do it. To totally she going to go. Frank. Frank. That's it. Frank. J's are the strong arm. Yeah. I don't like it. There you go. No, no, it's. It's hard. Anyway, you're still coming, Brian. They kind of outsourced the job for this. But with the robo calls, but it's usually a telemarketer on the other end. And I can't stand those guys. I'm sorry. I did you so much. It's a good one. Hi, are you eating dinner right now? Oh, can I call back when you are? Show me telemarketer. Number nine. Big points. Big points. Lower than I thought it would have been interesting. I think it's less. There's spam calls now, but they're mostly texts. And, you know, you've put our phones catch a lot more of them now than they used to. It's like, you're just getting some quality of life things. They still call to often. Yeah. Also, you can have

a telemarketing, you know, a place that only needs five people instead of a hundred people. Because it does to call. Wait for exactly a few answer. Then it routes. And then it's like, this like pick up. Hi. Um, yeah, no, they've gotten sneaky with their little tactics. Man, yeah, yes. Like the 80s when they had to call you at home on a on a rotary phone. I did that for I did that for one summer. It was the worst job. I also had a telemarketing job for a summer. And I hated it. Yeah. Yeah. Hated it. We sold magazines. I wanted to kill everybody and myself. Yeah. That's what kind of actions for us. It was everything. Just whatever, good homes and gardens and all the bullshit. It was the worst job. I hated it. When the reading, then I got something for you. And I looked at pretty pictures and smelling glossy paper. Yeah. The boss will always come over and just hang behind you and listen to how you how you battled their objections. Yeah. Really. I don't think you're trying hard enough, Brian. I

think you need to try harder. I am going to the teddy bar. I'll be back later. See, let me know. I'll go exactly. Do you see my chest there? Do you think I get this chest there by giving up too easy? The stereotype types are true, man. They're true. That's right. All right. Keep it going. Still yours. You're doing great. I got one that I want to say because it's joky and it feels like something to chat with something that Ted will say, but I think I'm going to stick with not something that I hate, but I know there's a lot of hate for this because I see the counterpoint all the time on the yard signs that say, we back the blue. And so that means that people are very mad about the places. Oh, I see. Please. I love how you tiptoed around that. That's fantastic. Very well done. Yeah. Yeah. It's you know, it's great. You probably just saved yourself getting a speeding ticket on the way home to the good job. Yeah. They're all listening. Show me police officer. Yeah. Yeah. Number six. That makes sense. 18 points for Brian currently five for Scott.

Yeah. We have a couple of cop listeners who we really like. And this is not about them. They're very nice people. Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. For nobody wants to see a police officer in the context of they're coming to talk to you. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. But when you when you got a problem, it's like, hey, yeah, I had a cop come up and talk to me in a parking lot here in our vato once and he just said, hey, just want to tell you I'm a big fan of wine. Go boy, go to. Yeah. Yeah. We saw the sticker on the back of my car. I'm like, oh, thanks. I love that. Yeah. Yeah. That's good. All right. All right. Five answers still on the board, Brian. And our elusive 11. You know who I hate. Dr. Tony. I'm a kid. I feel like people hate the doctor for for all the wrong reasons. I think they hate going to see the doctor. They hate the doctor. You know what? I'm going to take it back. I'm going to say instead, I'm going to point that the doctor hate the game. Yeah. I'm going to turn it around. I feel like the tadpole will never

pull the punches and they will say, podcaster. I think podcaster is one of the most hated professions. I hate those guys. Oh, let's see how this lands. Press the company included. Show me podcaster. Didn't get you. No, one person had did have the joke and put podcaster, but it was only one. Like, I've done a surprise. It wasn't more. Yeah. All right. Interesting. I'm going to go with, uh, I'm going to do. I'm going to assume that it's in addition to number six and say ice agent is on here. I sure. It is a little bit separate. It's a little piece. I said, a profession is vanilla. Is a profession. No, because at least he would say stop collaborating. Listen. Yeah. Without, without just pulling his gun. Stop your brown. Come with me. Yeah. He's actually. Yes. Uh, show me ice agent. Number three. That's the only problem with that one is I, we know it would be high. Yeah. That's, that's good. I didn't think about ice agent. That's good when I should. Yeah. The, well, let's stay within a,

let's stay within a semi unscrupulous zone and say, say, uh, the TSA agents. I think they're sure her end is really good. Can't stand on. Yeah. Every time I have to get my cavity checked by body cavity checked, uh, come on. I was there. Is there a label on my item in the spreadsheet? Anyway, show me TSA agent. Yeah. I know. It's surprising. TSA agents were number 25. Interesting. Lord and I thought. Yeah. Interesting. Maybe we feel bad for them. Probably. Maybe sometimes I don't know. I'll tell you that. You know, I think, I think we hate them less than we used to. I think that, um, now that there are things like clear and TSA pre-check where a lot of people just kind of not have to take off their shoes or remove their belt or things like that. Now that they monetized it and made us feel like it was never worth it in the first place. All right. Yeah. Good point. Now we

know we hit the money. Not the people. Right. Let's not to mention, not to mention, we all have experienced, we've all seen the crap they have to put up with, right? We're all in line. Yeah, so it's like, yeah, I won't do that job either. Um, uh, how about, I don't want to say doctors in general, but I do know what, so Dennis. So Dennis was up there. If you don't like people sticking their hands in your mouth, wait to hear what they do about your butt when you get older. So I'm going to say a colon off sycopus. Oh, are you going to say that? Yeah. A colleague. What are they called? The proctologists. They're, uh, they're different. different. No gastroologists. There you go. Gastro, gastron, um, any but specialist. But look, I appreciate what you're doing in saving my life. However, when I think about you, I dread it. Yeah, there you go. There you go. There you go. All right. Show me any form of that, uh, You know that dr. You know, put a thing here. Alright, no but doctor. Okay.

No but stuff, no but stuff. That's right. Um, okay, Monica. Monica apparently didn't like something you said. She says, women would like a word, Brian. I know. She, I know what she me. She's she saying the women already have terrible stuff done on them, is yeah, I think But stuff is bad. Yeah, they stick they stick like big of the things inside them and chip stuff off and don't give them like the women's health Cares jacked up and stuff and then they stick your boobs and like a cold Foreman grill. Oh the press. Oh, yeah, your boobies of Panera now Piningie not a panera Piningie. I got a really good deal on subscription to coffee On your boobs. All right But we're running out of good ones here Who's easy to hate somebody who's Yeah, these are these professionals easy to hate, right? You know what I'll say Inters may have been under the other day. I'm gonna say internet influencer Sure, that the stereotype influencer type person right? Oh, the sick Kardashian

Looks masked maxing people all that stuff here makeup as the best and I'm not just saying that because they're sponsoring this video show me influencer Oh, you have a tie game all the sudden eight points for each of you. Yeah, nice nice. I'm glad I went that way. All right Good. That's good. Yeah. How about that's might be too specific But I think a lot about like the current AI crypto freaking world people are not happy with those guys. I'm gonna say Yeah, is that a term crypto bros. I'll say that crypto whatever you have in there for a Crypto type bro type, you know that guy sure sure show me crypto bro Two people said it Let's see what it ended up being where is it I know somewhere on here Yeah, looks like it was also tied for 26 Crypto bro, I'm probably just because it's not perceived as a profession and more just like a a

Thing you do outside of your other All right, yes, it's kind of like it. They're kind of an influencer side, right? It's like I do crypto on the side But I'm really whatever crypto own side. That's right. It's more like you know, or it's CEO of what because being the CEO of a crypto Company is far worse I think for in our opinions than being CEO of

A video game company or a comic book company or something like that well lately depending depending on the video game or comic company Yes, exactly lately there haven't just as much Doe way just as many a holes in theirs. I think if you took to Paul and said what do you think of your CEO? I think it would overwhelmingly be yeah, I think so too. Yeah, for sure I'm not saying it's true everywhere. I'm just saying I'm saying it was a safe pick and I and I'm a little shocked wasn't in the top 10 Yeah, I will say that I believe that the we've given a short trip to door to door salesmen door to Sure, that's good. Hey, them. Hey, don't you still have door to door sales? Oh, yeah, yeah Yeah, even though I got a big old sign says no soliciting they still doing same I need and I decide I'm gonna design and 3d print a new sign that says if you ring this doorbell be prepared to answer What you think solicitor means? That's great. Yeah, that's I'm dude. That's great I'm doing that

I believe I think this guy wants to talk Show me door to door salesman Oh, yeah, baby Hated sales people number four so yeah, I'm sorry number 14 four people said sales people yeah, okay All right, let's go through the rest of these and then we'll pull out a tiebreaker question here Number four you might have been afraid to say it because of number tubing politicians, but number four is President and I Regardless Administration I feel like everybody always somebody always hates the president. I assume that was just loaded in there together Yeah, that would have overwhelmingly be number one if if you had to combine those two man. Yeah, yes, it really would have obliterate lawyers Number two, this is you know, we think about I'm sorry number two number seven. I can't read numbers today apparently

Number seven is one that we You know, it's almost like a joke hating this job, but here you go Car sales Yeah, that's good. It's kind of like the stereotype hated job, and it's always kill It's always like this. It's always like I had to play this game. All right. Let's play the game Yeah, that's why car facts and places like that are doing so well They're just like they eliminate that layer. Yes. Yes, Carvana Do that I still want to see the Carvana machine the big the big tall-sized scrapery Vending machine of cars operating. Yeah, I've seen we have one here. I've never seen a car come off of it It's a rotate or anything. No, I want to every time I drive past it, which is kind of frequent. Yeah, no cars moving I know I know we just go push the button see if it'll rotate around Like you're checking out slices of pie Compires of like number eight

Health insurance adjuster there were a couple people also insurance adjusted, but yeah, I lumped all the health Ten people said health insurance adjuster, so I just lumped the other two in there speaking of hated jobs. How about number 11 was IRS agent no or auditor any of those never a good call is it? No, come on I never get some money back. Yeah, yeah, that's gonna be bad. Let's see some of the other ones meter made Professional sports referee janitor accountant AI technician debt collector Refreshing is funny because I think you're only you only hate refs in the moment It's very like oh, he's so much, but overall it's like yeah, get have riffs. That's kind of on you Yeah, exactly. Yeah Yeah, the repo man is just doing his job. That's like the dentist. It's gonna hurt but it's not his fault Exactly. Yeah No, pagan Asian. Yeah, I've never met a janitor. I didn't like Yeah, I especially liked the janitor from the breakfast club. Yeah, he was very good. He was also going on in the school Yeah, that's right. No janitors are cool to kids all either their adults in high school suck But the janitor is a cool guy. Yeah, anybody who's got to but use smelly Saul desk to cover up your pukes is fine by me. Yeah, exactly

All right, well that means we uh, tie game we got to decide who's gonna win this based on this high low question um We'll go from the initial buzz in and Brian got politician he was scouts first, but you did get politician higher. So I will give you the choice of guessing the number or get going high low. I'm going high low because it's easy because I'm All right, it's stupid. It's like multiple choice. Yeah, sure. Okay. Scott you get to uh answer this question Answer like a survey since it's 1950 day view How many women have made the FBI's 10 most wanted list? I'm gonna say 15 15 15 is incorrect. Brian is the actual answer higher or lower? What was the day range again? 1950 to 2018 oh, so 68 years of top 10 oh my gosh so much higher people. Yeah so much higher Okay, let's say like a like a million really very good. All right, you're saying higher the actual answer is 10 I'm finding it really hard to to break that glass ceiling on the top 10 list That's because they're just straight up less criminal and terrible than we are It's so true 10 the first was in 1968 for a kidnapping ransom attempt and they got her 79 days later nice So 10 women I think I think this is wrong. I think I think there's a trouble here. I think almost me quality here Yeah, I know. Yeah, some bad. I'm sure it can be just as bad as man They can be Choose not to for some reason. Oh, yeah all over Kirby dots some Kirby crack lots of Kirby crackle lots of Kirby looking chests Yeah, like dude man chests Anyway, just Brian done away kiss our butts. He's out. That is the end of him. Well, not the end of him Well, I'm just come on. Yeah, it's the end of our time with him. Let's say it that way Um, but that doesn't mean we're done That just means that there's more and how do I know that? Well, I'm slowly clicking buttons That's how I know all along a second. There we go. All right. Hey everybody check this out Isn't technology wonderful. It can be when Tom Maritz involved hi Tom Maritz Well hello, Scott and Brian hello to you sir How's uh how's kicks is this as the kids like to say how's it going kicks uh is what uh mom's like

Kids like it for what it's got got moms like it for what it's not that's right And what I realize as an adult is kicks is just packing foam. There's really nothing to it. Yeah, that's why the postal service likes it. Yeah Not to be confused with uh, what's the other kind there was a kind of roots band That's what I was thinking. No, I was thinking of oh yeah, there's a band isn't there Yeah, I was thinking of what's this there was a serial like That but it was but they were sugary, but they looked the same. So if you you could trick your mom. We did this So maybe I tricked my mom into getting that because I said all it's like kicks mom these are fine. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, she's like well I like it for what they're not I promise You know, we'd like to get sugar cereal. That's how it worked. That's right. And now I'm pretty diabetic fantastic Hey, jokes on me in the long run. So he was getting ahead of stuff Tom is always good to have any hair. We have Tom on to talk about tech stuff this week is a is a crazy one

We got blizzcon this weekend and the fact that the you know three of us aren't gonna see each other at that thing It's a little weird after all the traditional years we used to have together at that I know and my one of my favorite groups in the world is performing and I'm not gonna go down there That's the that's the actually the part that blows my mind But you've already seen him a couple times this summer at least and I'm seeing him a week from today in concert in Los Angeles So yeah, you're a bleeder. It's just trying to try and negotiate the whole Ticket thing without having been on top of it right from the beginning was yeah, yeah pain in the butt Yeah, my understanding is there are sizable amount of tickets going to people who are just coming for the concert Oh, yeah from some what I've heard internally. Yeah, there's like a good thing Yeah, yeah, so doesn't make I don't know if that's good for blizzcon that's good for La Seraph It seems bad seems a little bit bad for blizzcon it might be maybe there's still so in tickets But I guess they're not gonna sell anything else. Yeah, we can sell any yeah, here's the storm merch or I mean me

Yeah, I don't know you never underestimate the loyalty of a kpop Stan fear nots may go and be like well, where's the overwatch gear let's go Yeah Go on a plushy run, you know, you never know right well Tom. We got a we got a tech question for Tom It's what he does on Wednesdays comes on here answers these hard questions that you guys come up with in a guy named slow horse That this show on Apple TV you know is yeah with Gary old Yeah, maybe he's a fan of that could be I'm a fan of that too. I'm a fan of him automatically That was it is a very good show. I'm a season behind it. I really like it All right, here's what he says can you guys ask Tom if the Nvidia CEO is right when he congratulated open AI on hitting AGI we'll get into what that isn't a minute feels like if that happened we wouldn't we would have heard a lot more about it says slow horse Tom Tom dug some digging and found out yesterday sent me a note that this is actually a thing that Hwang said back in like may or march or something like that

Yep, so that already makes it weird but Tom I guess we probably ought to do a little bit of like what is AGI and then what does the significance of claiming that you Achieve what isn't AGI That's that's what I'd like to know sure AGI stands for artificial generalized intelligence and it's kind of where the industry landed after Realizing that the Turing test wasn't useful anymore The Turing test was posited by Alan Turing One of the pioneers in computer science, you know who built the enigma machine and all of that And Turing had proposed that If you could chat with the output of a computer and not know it was a computer and never realize it wasn't a human Then that would be considered artificial intelligence And it turns out that LLMs are very good at fooling you into thinking you're talking with a human But that isn't enough to claim artificial intelligence because there's still a lot of things that they can't do

So artificial generalized intelligence was a way to say well When we get to the point where they generally can talk about anything right it doesn't matter what they were trained on It doesn't matter if there's filters that it can just come up with stuff no matter what And it can create its own knowledge Then we'll call that AGI and ask six AI experts in a room for their definition of AGI and you'll get six different definitions They may overlap here and there but but there really isn't an accepted definition of AGI And so Open AI came out and said Astrosix is AGI And Jensen Wong posted on X AGI has arrived Congratulations open AI team and it runs on Nvidia chips I do believe what open AI is trying to say is astra is exponentially more capable than its previous models And the early returns or that that is true that it can do a lot more with less that it can understand intentions better

That you don't have to explain things as much as you used to And it's able to to do a lot of things Capably without hallucinating without making mistakes. It is an incredibly impressive model Whether it's AGI or not I mean open AI doesn't have anything to lose by saying it's pretty much AGI Because then everybody goes, oh that's impressive. I want to try it right They no longer have anything in their charter They used to have something in their charter that said as soon as they Discovered AGI a bunch of things change in their agreement with Microsoft. They redid that agreement so that doesn't matter anymore I I don't know whether this is AGI I think Jensen Wong is saying it's AGI because open AI said it was and it benefits Nvidia For people to go wow you can get AGI if you if you run and video chips. I knew they were great Now I think they're even more great And yeah back in March Wong was on Lex Friedman's podcast and said I think we've achieved AGI So why wouldn't he say it now six months later

It's to me it's I don't want to say it's pointless or useless because I think we we levy that can criticism against Executives way too often they are human beings and they do say things that are true sometimes But I do think this is Jensen Wong stretching the definition of AGI to be like well on the near side You could squint at this and say it's AGI so sure why not let's let's pretend it is and get past that because there there is a sense to his Comments on this is like yeah, it's AGI who cares Let's talk about what really matters selling Nvidia chips and the implications of that and in fact there's an even better Discussion that he had in Washington DC Back in April where he said you won't lose your job to AI you'll lose it to your co-worker who uses it So he was trying to say look these tools are going to help people you need to learn to use them Because you will fall behind if you don't same same thing that was said about computers back in the in the 80s and 90s

Was like eventually if you don't know how to use a computer You're gonna you're gonna fall behind in your job and it sounds scary the way he says that But when you think about computers Yeah, and eventually people didn't refuse to use computers And very few people just quit their job and said I can't deal with these computers I'm not gonna work anymore although if you did usually because they were closer to retirement I think I think what he's saying is like these are going to be useful tools They are going to allow us to do more work Which is a reasonable thing to say you can disagree with it But that's a reasonable thing to say the stuff about AGI I sort of dismiss his fluff and marketing speed Yeah, the other thing too is Like someone in the chat just said it we kind of breased Right past not in this conversation, but as a society We breezed right past the destruction of the Turing test like the obliteration of that test Yeah, and a hardy made a blip Like isn't that it's a little crazy right that we didn't I I think I

I Know what they're saying, but it it wasn't so much that we breezed past the Turing test and acted like nothing happened We got to the Turing test and realized it wasn't a very good test Uh, you know, it was I think what Turing and everyone else including myself thought was like well if it can convince me it's human It'll probably be able to do all the things a human can do and what we found is large language models are Extremely good at language so they can sound human But that doesn't mean there's the other human capabilities behind them And so I think the reason we breezed past that test is we found out that a lot of our assumptions about what passing that test would mean weren't true That that in fact you can create a machine that is so good at sounding human That it doesn't matter what it's capable of on the other side and it can't do creative thought and it would make up facts and it's like oh well Okay, so it passes the Turing test, but it turns out that's not as useful as we thought it would be Do you know if the new astramodel is any better at um

Not needing as much resource for compute like like previous models. It is a little more efficient Uh, there is there is a pretty nice efficiency from it. Uh, so yeah, that that is another of its advantages Uh, it's also capable of doing more so whether that will actually end up meaning less compute used or not I don't know If people go, oh, I can use this to do a lot of stuff It could increase the amount of compute it does but per token the amount of you know compute that it needs to answer queries is less It is more efficient. Yeah, I'm just curious because the the economics of AI is if you really look at it is really weird right now And a lot of it's based on hedging bets and you know being ready losing money now for the future gaining market share all these things like typical business things um, but some of it Doesn't seem to have the same kind of tail prediction like it's hard to predict When like obviously, but this phone that I have in my hand which was yeah infinitely more powerful in the most powerful computer

That was ever built in the 60s Here it is in my hand using way less power than that would have taken to run like we do get more efficient over time And I think everybody's hope is well, yeah that stuff will follow that trail and it will get more efficient I don't know if that's good for Nvidia probably not But but it doesn't seem like it is And so the token system just seems untenable in the long term. It's a whole other discussion What it doesn't seem like it's getting more efficient. I mean it is getting more efficient But what we do when that happens it seems like and correct me if I'm wrong but in in AI terms The more efficient it gets We just the more we throw at it So in other words, we're not letting we're not letting they go ah okay now we can ease up on data centers and ease up on consumption Yeah, we're not there yet I would say that this this is a very typical curve at this point It's just way more disruptive and way more frightening But the curve itself is pretty typical which is like we have a new technology Ah, let's take streaming video nobody has enough bandwidth for streaming video

Two years after Netflix streaming launches see I told you it's not getting adopt It's not getting bad bandwidth's not getting better. This will never catch on five years later Well, it's catching on with some people, but it'll never replace discs 10 years later Netflix is dominant and streaming is taken over so we're we are in that section where like yes Of course as we get more efficient we want to use it more It's the same thing with highways right you add another lane to the highway more cars to decide to drive because now There's there's more room on the highway at a certain point though if you added enough lanes It wouldn't add that and we get there We have just recently crested the hill of bandwidth where Adding more bandwidth doesn't lead immediately to it all being used We are just past the crest of storage where you just don't need as much you don't need to keep doubling the amount of storage on your devices every year like you used to And so we're so early in this spot. I wouldn't I wouldn't put too much

Emphasis on the fact that like we keep adding compute and then we keep using it It's like yeah, whether that's going to continue or not. We don't we haven't got near the top We are still on the hockey stick leg, but there's some upper limit Probably there isn't we like and and if it goes the way everything usually goes we'll reach that upper limit and and be like oh Now we now we've kind of neared the part where you know compute and use of the have crossed And we don't need to keep adding it But the efficiency gains are huge Every new chip is more efficient every new model is more efficient But as that happens We realize oh, but what we can do we have not reached the maximum of what we want to do with it And one one area where I think you are seeing something That indicates what you're talking about is corporate token use has flattened over the summer And nobody is sure whether that's just well It's because it was the summer and people weren't doing as much and it'll start to tick back up

In the autumn Or whether that indicates like oh maybe corporate use has has leveled out for the time being yeah I'd be interesting to see because this this one just feels like the stakes are crazy, but Maybe they're no more crazy. I think that's what makes us all a little impatient right is like whoa But this this is way different, you know, you got you got a guy from entropic quitting because he thinks It might get out of control, you know, and sure and and it's it's it is a unsettling technology In the sense that it can do things that we are not used to seeing technology do that's right Well, where you get these questions answered. I'll tell you where right here on this show But you also get a answer on the daily technique show which everybody should be checking And then there's this thing happening Friday that I'm coming on oh, yeah, I'm very excited Tom Yeah, the big show DTN is live on Fridays This is this is we've moved our Thursday live to Friday and we just put it into the regular DTN S feed so Friday will be our look back at the big tech question of the week

Which will probably be about apples announcement today because they're likely to announce a foldable in a new watch And maybe a few other things it's our first look at John Ternis on stage as CEO of apples I just want a folding watch. That's what I'm hoping you want a foldable watch I want a foldable watch. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Yeah. Well, you know say never say never No, I do miss The last couple of days have been some really sweet and since AI's kind of the Photoshop of today in terms of like fakes and stuff Yeah, I used to miss those old days where there be a thousand fake look at iPhones before the announcement Yeah, yeah, and this and this week's been pretty good that way. It's like here's a we here's a foldable We're sure this is the one and I'm like yeah, it's origami Looks like right right I kind of miss those days. So it's nice to see some of that coming up a little nostalgia hit Yeah, well, we'll see how it goes of course you guys will be doing full coverage throughout and yeah, we'll be do We've got obviously the show today went way down and sarah lane will be with me to break all down the information as soon as it happens

I like we said Friday on the live show will be maybe put in John Ternis to a grade And then on Saturday Sarah Lane and Jen cutter are going to sit down with the snobbos guy folks Nikkemontford and Terrence gains to kind of take a longer look like okay We've had some time to to sit with this what's going on with it? So it's all coming in your daily tech news show feed at daily tech news show.com so many smart women doing stuff over there on day Tech news show absolutely lucky to have them. They're awesome Tom Merritt everybody. He is known as ace detect on all The social media is those are still a thing so if you want to get in there Shoo now's your chance it's mostly bots and trash but You know you want to hook up a Tom and a public way you apply me within a week. Yes, Luke Johnson sent me a message and I'm gonna play this for that. This is about the jugs of peace This is about subway and we were talking about how subway is within 10 minutes of everybody 15 and 10 yeah, whatever it is. Yeah, he says Hey, Scorton Portwell. I greatly enjoyed scuba geeks extreme nerdy Nurtily regar ner ditty ner ditty ner ditty ner ditty ner ditty ner ditty Good lord that was having a hard time coming out Constipation word Regarding sandwich franchise logistics. I've actually got a screenshot of Apple maps for some reason That didn't come through on his text. Okay. Sorry about that Anyway, he says start you start the trip my aunt's house is in the middle of nowhere Arizona She lives has lived there for decades. She connected to edgewater or sorry white water rafting in the grand canyon So it makes sense to her End of the closest subway is pager, Arizona estimated time 48 minutes He says it would seem that most not all households are within 15 minutes of a subway Well, yeah, you're gonna have examples of people way out in the nowhere But it is true that you know, I think we we had said or scuba geek had said

That all that everybody's within 15 minutes of an of a subway. Yeah, that was like men as a hard Fact right. This is obviously you lied to a scuba geek is what we're saying. I just say that his aunt is lucky to To not be closer to a subway. Yeah, less less temptation to eat that yoga mat food. Yeah, yeah, I don't I mean look Oh, I did what you did yesterday. Well, I don't know if you ended up doing it But you said I did I get the hot Italian soda Yeah, it was so good. It's so good. I have half of it to eat today too I was a little heart-burning later though Just a little bit. Yeah, yeah, not terrible and I ate early enough that it wasn't like a problem at night But that's good. I still don't regret it. I was really But that was a great suggestion So good check that out and get it's my get it mics way guys get it Yeah, yeah unless you get unless you're gonna be unless you've got a long drive ahead of you to get it back home because the the oil and vinegar stuff makes your Bread soggy, but and you can always get that stuff on the side and sprinkling on when you get home

But yes, get it mics way nobody wants wet bread Or maybe they do I don't know I'm not here to judge. I'm trying to think of a case for wet bread. I mean French french dip is a thing because people like wet bread That's true. How do you feel about a french dip? I love a french dip. I do too That's the only that's the only Sandwich where I like wet bread. So it kind of depends on what what's getting it wet? It's in it. Yeah, yeah, in this case it's it's a ojou is like a beefy broth Right and the only reason it works for french dip is because usually french dip is onions roast beef maybe some provolone or something on there done. How about some pcraccia and like uh Like a soup you put an R in the pcraccia. Did I That's a fra caccia for a caccia? I probably did Carter makes it and I put that in all eat all eat a whole pan of that. Oh, it's so good I love pcraccia bread, but you give me just like a nice soup like a creamy soup Yeah, dip in that in there. Yeah, that's why bread I can get into you baby. Yeah, I could do that. I'm in

Luke. Thank you for the for the message I like Luke because not only does he have the same namesake as my recently departed nephew But he seems like a really nice guy and every time I talk to him it feels good So thank you Luke for sending that in I mean Luke's side where I just said nothing special about mics subways just as good Oh my I mean that we can't just let that slide I frequently disagree with Luke's sidewalkers hot takes because I frequently disagree with them. I've had to disagree with that one very quickly That makes me want to get up and run around like how do you say that I just want to say that I know that's the same thing to say Luke sidewalker not the same Luke as Luke Johnson different Luke I want to see Luke sidewalkers list, you know give me Jimmy John's Jersey mics firehouse blimpies and subway and I want to see that list. Yeah, I guarantee you Every name Brian just said is better than the one Then the one that's 15 minutes from us all right, right exactly

All right, well it seems objective to me but what do we know It's gonna do it for today's show frogpants.com slash TMS is our website.
