Anthropic has released a report that alleges Chinese AI companies, including Moonshot AI and DeepSeek, tried cloning American AI models by routing millions of real user queries to Anthropics Claude through intermediary platforms. Some of those queries contain sensitive information like location data and passwords. The revelations highlight growing safety concerns in Washington and within AI labs. In its report, Anthropics said it has seen increasing evidence that Claude was used for criminal hacking campaigns and potentially dangerous biological research. OpenAI has also seen similar types of queries.

1:02A Moonshot spokesperson declined to comment, and DeepSeek didn't respond to requests for comment. Boston Scientific has restored its manufacturing, order fulfillment, and shipping operations following last month's cyber attack. The company said late yesterday that products are moving through its distribution network at or above normal levels, as it works to clear back logs and deliver orders. Earlier this week, the firm noted it will likely miss its third quarter and four-year financial guidance due to the hack. And French AI startup, Mr. Hall, is partnering with American DataFirm Cloudera to expand its enterprise client base, targeting highly regulated sectors like finance, healthcare, and government agencies. The partnership aims to meet growing demand, especially in Europe, for sovereign AI. Mr. Hall will integrate its models into Claude era's hybrid data platform, enabling clients to securely deploy and train AI using proprietary data in controlled environments. Enterprise clients are valuable for AI companies since they offer steady revenue.
