Thanks for joining us off the bat. We look at your result last week for bowling green. And you trailed 17, zero the Tarleton State. It lost 20 to 13. Let me ask you, were you shocked at how that game played out for bowling green? Or did you expect a tough time with Tarleton State? Yeah, actually, I was not hugely surprised because a few factors at Tarleton State is really talented. I watched them the previous week. They played Prairie View and ran up and down the field. And that was a big concern I had. They had already played a game. Bowling green had not. And I think you could see that clearly in the first quarter and a half. They were loaded and ready to go. And bowling green looked like a team that was playing its first game.

2:01And I think that's a huge advantage. And it turned out to really be a key in the game. As you mentioned, the big 17 point lead. The only mistakes really in the game by either team in the turnover column were fumbles by bowling green. And I tend to think that running backs would probably be a little bit more ball secure as they get playing time and such. So I was not surprised. They got a tough game. I knew Tarleton was loaded with talent. They were going to come in ready to win. And in fact, it's their third straight season. They've beaten an FBS team. So not a huge surprise that bowling green got a tussle from them. Clearly could have come out with a win, but didn't make enough plays to get that done. I want to back up real quick, Todd. And get established your background. You're a veteran play by play man. How long have you been doing it for bowling green? This is your 24. 24 years your age.

3:01I'm 50 seven. All right. So now you've seen a lot. How would you how do you think Ohio and both and seen a Brasca play to Ohio last week? 149 to 21. I think a lot of the people's in people's minds of questions. How does bowling green of the map compared to Ohio of the Mac? Well, I would say historically and in most general ways, I'd say very, very well. If you're talking about where the football programs are at this particular moment. Yes. Be fair to say that Ohio along with the Toledo and Miami and Western Michigan appear to be the four best teams in the conference this year. And past bowling green is trying to get back to that point. You saw an Ohio team that's 140 games in the last 40 years or last 40 years, I should say. Right. So I think it's fair to say that unpapered bowling green is not where the bobcats are and have been the last several years.

4:01So they're open to get there though. Todd, Bill Bush, 93 seven, the ticket. Tell us just what your relationship is like and how are the interactions with the head football coach. He has a bit of a משofe winner. We stories NFL career. Obviously played at Ohio State just tell us what that's like dealing with him. Eddie is an extremely gracious man. He's well spoken and you really feel like an inferior person when you're around any Georgia. What does this guy can't do? He sings and dances and acts and one of the best football players ever is an elevomized guy. incredible what a great guy he is and clearly everybody in Bully Green has taken to him quite quickly and obviously he's an Ohio legend having played for the Buck As one the Heisman and all of that. He's incredibly easy to get along with and talk with and we've had great interactions and when he's out in public you know you can't have some people that want to run up and get

5:03his autograph and that kind of thing and he handles that with great a plump so if you have no complaints whatsoever. Tell us real quickly on that sings dances and he's that's the that's very interesting to us. You guys don't know about him appearing in the Broadway production of Chicago. No, unaware. I'm right. Well, it's been a loud watch to the show and I've worked it and see him perform in the theater when he did it. But he's in the Chicago, the musical when it was on stage, not in the movie that they made. But then he also had several other acting credits on several network shows. I want to say that NCIS. Oh, okay. Wow. So yeah, it's it's just really a varied career path that he's had for sure.

7:08Wow, that's interesting. Okay. Back. I'll get back to you. We feel inferior being around someone that had that kind of prowess on the on the field and also can do everything else better than you too. Todd, we understand feeling inferior. Yes, we're every day we wake up with a I leave the house inferior. We so it's good to hear that we're in the same boat. As far as inferior goes, bowling green, first Nebraska, J I was crashed. J cast and steam is the quarterback for bowling green. What kind of problems does he present for teams? Well, I think what we saw in his first game is that he's he's able to make plays off schedule as coaches like to call it. Yeah, I think exactly right. He was able to move around, throw the ball on the move, made a couple of real key runs, showed some toughness doing that. Had a key first down on a scramble that really was all want to. So I think really he emerged as a guy that can lead this team in game one, you know, going into camp, a lot of

8:11people had penciled in off to Nova Sauders, the starting quarterback, he had transferred to the Morgan. It had been a much ball who had recruit out of high school, but, you know, Dylan Gabriel and Bonix had kept him on the bench at Oregon. But Jay cast and team beat him out. So we saw in the first game that I think the coaches now see what he can do in actual game live action, not just in camp, or, you know, you're not 100% sure. If a guy has that real escape ability, because obviously you're not hitting your own quarterback and camp and things like that. So I think they're fully comfortable with them. We were able to do whatever they wanted to run in their offense. Now, and that was a big key for week one. Castonstein came out, came over there and beat out a Ballyhooed Oregon transfer. I remember talking to you in the spring, Todd. And yeah, I thought it would be the Oregon transfer for sure. Yeah, I think it was a normal assumption, because that's the way things work in college football. When a guy comes from that

9:12kind of background, you expect him to be the starting quarterback. But as camp went on, neither one could pull away from the other very significantly. And it came last week and coach George announced it would be Castonstein. And I think the two factors helped Jay. First of all, as I mentioned, Austin barely played in Oregon, whereas Castonstein has been starting quarterback the last two years. He was a conference and beat Peefer as team last year. And then the other thing is, I think he's a bit of a better runner than Austin is. And the way they're building this offense, I think they felt they needed that Q run threat at times. So those were from what my understanding is the two key factors that pushed it to Jay. Okay. Todd, standard question to all of our guests. Have you been to Nebraska before and what do you anticipate? What is your day like? I'm assuming we'd be getting on a plane here pretty soon, landing in Lincoln. And what is your day like today? And then what are you tomorrow when it's a night game? I can walk us through that.

10:13Well, yeah, we're supposed to be in Lincoln at three o'clock the local time there. And I hit up my Ohio brother and last week to see where they might have went to eat and enjoy the the trappings of Lincoln. So a couple of there are a couple of suggestions. See how that goes. We're staying at the Hilton graduate there. So I guess we're close to everything. You're about a block from us right now. Very close by. So we can walk around to get the stuff which is good because you know, we don't have a vehicle when we travel with the team unless we want to rent one. So we're kind of on foot most of the time. So and then tomorrow, you know, actually, when you have these night games and you're on the road, I like to do a lot of extra prep on that day because it's a long day of just do it nothing. I mean, you can sit in your room and watch football games and stuff. But boy, the day really drags on. So that would be a lot of extra time tomorrow to do a prep for the game and maybe even casually talk with some of the coaches is a very

11:13walk around the hotel killing time. Good news for you Todd. Don't even consider a car. I mean, you don't need it at all. Nope. I mean, there's there's absolutely no need for a car. Anything you need is in walking distance. So don't worry, but yeah, don't worry about that. One other football question, what got my attention, Todd was Tarleton State rant. I think they ran for 258, right? Does that sound right? Yep, it was most of that came on two runs, guys. And that's another thing I think that really showed weak one issues. Both of the long runs by Thailand, it's one of about 75, one of about 80. Okay. Five and four times. Bulling green had them pinned the very first play. He bumped up for long runs. Oh, she either one. So I think clearly they had something a skew with their coming off the goal line run defense. Somebody

12:13was not where they should have been or got over anxious and ran bunches wanting to get a safety. Who knows? But those two play as accounted for over half of their rushing yards. Okay. The serves credit. He's a great running back. Don't get me wrong. But clearly, they've got to fix something that in that situation with their run defense and their fits and gaps as they like to say. And I'd like to think they'll get that fixed. However, I'm sure Nebraska will still run the football effectively. They've got three great backs and other fresh first on the scene last week. So it'll be a huge check on it. You got it. Todd Walker voice at Bulling green. I'm curious Todd that the Mac, I think people thought would get rated and just kind of disappear. But it was actually a very good week one. Of course, losses by Toledo, but they were close to the Michigan of course, the game in Michigan should be a win from West Michigan, but the Hail Mary half with one second left. I mean, did you were you under the thought also that the Mac would just get weaker in the air of the air of the portal or did you expect to be strongly they are right now still in general?

13:17You know, I don't know. This just conference when these schools and this part of the country. And I think you could say that about your part of the country too. These people are resourceful. They don't take no for an. You know, they've always had to work from behind if you will when it comes to budgeting and facilities and all this, but there's a lot of other things that you can use to your advantage. And I think you're seeing that they're trying to keep pace. Certainly, they're not ever going to be at the level of a power school, but a lot of pride in the football has played in the Mid American conference. And I think what you've always seen, they're adapting and overcoming and trying to stay on that same level here. Excellent. Excellent. Well, Todd, we hope you have a good trip to Lincoln. Yeah, we do. As I said, you don't need a car. Just walk everywhere. You'll be surprised. You'll be surprised at the level of construction going on. You'll be surprised at the level of construction going on right now. But you'll be able to get around just fine and be in very welcoming fans.

15:21Western Michigan beat Michigan Toledo led Michigan state in the fourth quarter Toledo looked like a good good bill. Yeah, they got some guys. It's interesting. The best comment of the whole thing is we're resourceful and we don't take no for an answer. We're like, oh, oh, whoa is me. You're like, no, no, no, no, I knew that was resonant with you. You just hear that way. You're resourceful. You are. You don't take no for an answer. And I like that about you. And that we all need to be more like that on the show and in other parts of that part about Eddie George being on Broadway. Wow. And acting. It is why he can sing and dance. God dang. We have a guy who won the high. He's been playing the NFL for over. He can sing and dance. And he's also does a lot of Broadway stuff. He's about six, five, 30. Yeah, looking guy. Wow. Wow. Inferior.
