This was a fun day. Today got to see football on the field. I always love to see that. And we got to see a look at that Cam Coleman guy, the prize transfer portal edition for the Long Horns in this class.
I think everybody who was there, including us, came away from that thinking, yep, this guy's as advertised.
Yeah, and that's a pros pro. He is every bit of that six foot two frame that we've been talking about, easily the biggest guy in the wide receiver room, at least in his little section of players' league lock.
I might have a run for his money there, but Cam Coleman just looks so fluid, so polished as a receiver. It's funny, Joe, a lot of these transfers kind of get put in the back part of these two deeps, three deeps on the position groups.
He was the number one wide receiver out there, and you could tell one thing that struck with me is more or less about what was on the field and more kind of outside and interacting with players.
I mean, Sarge talked a lot about how instilling the cultures important we've heard about who was helping crew Coleman to Texas.
And now that it's here, you can see with Archmaning of these two are these sort of tight their buds out there. And they were the first part of practice when they were just having the quarterbacks throw a little bit.
Coleman was the one receiving from guys like Diabelle and KJ Lacey, MJ Morris, and Archmaning was just standing there talking with them.
They were hanging out in a lot of the practice, and then when Coleman actually hit the field, it was clearly the best wide receiver on the roster out there.
He was running his wilds well, the comeback routes, the deep routes, everything like that posts as well.
We didn't get to see everything from this Texas team, but he really looked like the best player out there on the field.
A guy who's clearly going to be in that NFL next season.
And you mentioned Arch was kind of standing around. He's a little bit limited right now. If you see pictures, no braces or anything like that on that search really repaired foot.
Nothing really to worry about there. I feel like that's just how they have to take them.
So it is an opportunity for KJ Lacey Diabelle and MJ Morris to build not only with, you know, Kim Coleman and Dirtu receiver like that, but also to be able to work with, you know, all the other top in wide receivers,
the younger wide receivers like, you know, Germain Bishop, there you go, took me a second, almost called a Michael Bishop, that's that Germain Bishop, even Dale and McCutchen, all the different guys that have out there at wide receiver, gives some of those younger guys opportunities.
Speaking of other pass catchers that look the part before we flip over to the defensive side of the ball, Michael was soon to set that tight end spot.
That is when you think of that in line, why tight end, that's what you find in a dictionary.
And you didn't, you haven't quite seen it with the arch or the C sort of huge in T using Gunner Helm was a bigger guy, but not even close to what Michael was soon to set there.
I believe 652, 65 something around that number. I mean, he looks like a tackle out there when he is running routes and moving on the field.
Looks pretty good running the routes from what I saw. I mean, nothing crazy. It's the first day of practice, but catching the ball while I think it's staying in circulation noted when we talked to him about how, hey, that's going to be something we need to develop, but right now immediately you're bringing in a clear prominent blocker in the run game.
We saw the offensive line a little bit limited with Trevor groups be out and you guys like learn to see more. We still don't quite know about his eligibility case yet.
They're trying to run outside zone. That was a key factor of what they were trying to do when I was watching them.
So you've got like Michael Mason and Spencer Shannon, which really big at this point. I think he's someone's maybe gone a little under the radar coming in.
You have those two that can be true blockers and then pass catchers like New Townsend and Mario Winston developing. It's a good looking tight end room.
Yeah, some of the other notes, Melvin Ciani out there at right tackle, Brandon Baker at right guard. They said they had four to five guys working at that center spot.
We saw four to five guys working at that center spot, Jaden Chapman, Dylan Sikorski, Jackson Christian, along with obviously Connor Robertson, Trevor Gooseby, just still from that offseason shoulder surgery, going to be a little bit limited this spring.
We did get a good look at the running backs and what they're able to do and it's Hollywood smothers and Ray League Brown top two and pretty two peas in a pod type.
We'd heard about that. Sarkin said that those guys were best friends immediately and that's how they came in as a duo. They knew this was going to be a duo coming to the running back from that.
That's how Sarkin likes his running backs. He doesn't need to have a true bell cow there and Brown especially, I mean, he's they're both about the same way, but Brown has two inches less on him compared to Smothers.
He's a really fit player. He's really looking really agile out there. I think Smothers is the one that we maybe see as the favorite to be the number one of a one A one B group.
Brown was the one who kind of impressed me a little more today. He also got chances to take pump returns. Nibblet was working as a gunner. So Brown was the number one guy out there out of Dale and McCutcheon.
That running back room is fun. You got everyone over 190 pounds. It's one of Michael Terry is 235. He's a giant. I don't know if anyone saw who saw my tweet, but I mean, he looks head and shoulders taller than everyone else.
They're Cooper R.H. 210 pounds. So that's a group that's going to be really fun and probably a lot deeper than we've come accustomed to the last two years. Michael Terry is definitely a player that everybody got excited about right away.
Like, oh, he could be this. He could be this. He could be this. And it was big. He could be this. And now that he's starting to look, you know, like someone.
He looks like a middle line back there. That's maybe some of the reason why the people thought maybe he could be on defense in his time.
But he's going to have the ball in his hands. You're going to use a six foot three 230 230 pound guy in order to, you know, make the most of it. There's a lot of personnel.
But it's only day one. And that's the thing. Like you mentioned Ryan Nibblet is doing gunner right now. Well, there's going to be another special teams session where the all American returner probably is going to get a look at return.

Contact info is in the description. Moving over to the defensive side of the ball. We got to talk and look at some of the players.
And you know, if you go check out my notes or run inside Texas, you can kind of tell there's a pecking order. Nothing formal is a they changed up practice a little bit.
And that's because they have will must chance they're leading the defensive practices and you saw him bounce a little bit from station to station.
I saw him observe defensive line with Kenny Baker. But for the most part, he was working with the defensive backs and you've got late Gideon who's there as your secondary coach.
He's got Mark Orfe working with the corners, Gideon is working with the safeties, but will must have there's a portion where he was very hands on with the Nichols and he wasn't, you know, everybody.
He's got this reputation. He's coach boom. You wasn't loud screaming, but you could hear him from across the way. You could hear him from across the field.
And you had, I think a little tidbit of a clip of him just talking to a true freshman in Hayward Howard. I think it was Eric and you know, it says if you do this.
You don't play and that just speaks to will must champ has his fingerprints all over not only just a structure of practice, but the structure of things here in Texas footballs.
He is installing his defense, which I think we forget about.
I mean, and he's saying that to a true freshman in early March about games that we played in August into that back half of the year.
And that's just the kind of mentality you bring with must champion. And I noted on our live show that the defense wasn't quite loud.
I think that the offense you saw them being a little bit more hard on the players and pushing them a little bit more.
But I think must champ style when you talk about a guy who is known as the coach boom and the punch in the whiteboard and things like that.
Sure, there's loud and there's going to be that energy there, but it's a lot of this kind of personal one-on-one.
Hey, let's go make you better right this second. I'll go be in your face about it because you're going to thank me in August, September, October, November.
So, Heyward Howard's a guy that you can point out at that. I think a lot of people are really excited for just the young players in that secondary.
Because no more Michael Taft, no more Malik Muhammad. Of course, you're bringing Beaumasco, who looks the part of this.
Looks like he's in the right spot at body wise. For a cornerback, we talked a lot about Warren Roberson developing his speed.
But there's a lot of opportunity in the back end. I think that's at least one to two starting spots.
And then a lot of secondary and rotational spots that are really up for grabs here.
This is one of those days where it's like who caught your eye because we don't see as much football.
We're only there for about 20 minutes or so. And it's all individual drills. It's not really even very many like team drills.
It's corners working with corners on air, safety, defensive linemen, safe thing.
But there are a few guys who definitely stood out. One of them, Tyler, I could say out of it.
He really looks the part of Ian Gaffard and Zion Williams.
When you're 6'5 and you're 387, you look 6'5, 387.
He looks the right type of giant, I think is what Eric, when we were in here earlier right now for notes, who's really excited about.
Yeah, there's going to be some in the core. But he looks well built.
And I'm really excited to see Josiah Sharma.
Yeah, and I think that's a player who, you know, if you remember Colbert Vard from last year, that's kind of what Josiah Sharma looks like now.
And he's going to be in the factor in the conversation that knows.
But I also think that when you look at someone like Rushing Viles and then Kate Phillips and then Bob Masco and Kobe Black,
so many of the guys we think are going to be playing on those front line spots.
Really look like they are a veteran college football player is ready to play big football.
It's a tremendous athlete. So I think some of the roster that you saw on Twitter and on our board, maybe a little bit inaccurate about some of these heights and weights there.
Kate Phillips is probably a little bit bigger than just flat six foot.
But yeah, I think if someone like Sharma where you notice every year, if you've been reading IT's board for a while,
they're just some names that you'll just keep hearing and keep hearing and suddenly, they won't play in a lot last year.
They're on the field quite a bit.
I think Sharma is a great candidate for that because we've just been hearing his name more and more.
He knew his talent to come in, but now like you said with guys like Provard and Travis Shaw kind of moving out of the way.
Of course, they're going to more natural in those tackles.
They bring in two guys in Provard and Williams, but Sharma is a big, big, big dude, but an athletic guy.
And someone that we think can move and then his stamina will be all right.
And of course, we're talking about these new players in Tyler Act instead of me.
You see that this guy was working with a personal trainer throughout high school and just have serious years about football because he is shredded.
I mean, he doesn't look like a true freshman. That's the kind of ability to expect from an NFL linebacker.
Not someone who's freshly 18 years old just got on the campus.
Sark talked about him. He said he's a tenacious player.
Just loves football. Love's learning is always active in the film.
Always active out in practice. It's so far he's seen.
So that's someone that I just think sometimes even with an experience you bring in players that talented.
They're just going to play because of how good they are.
Yeah, there are a lot of players like that on this Texas team.
We'll be talking about it.
We've got day one in the books. We'll be talking about what Sark said.
Talk about day two when we get out there on Wednesday day three.
