Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Trey Yessevage will miss the start of the season after landing

on the injured list, with shoulder impingement in his throwing.

Arm.

The 22-year-old rookie reported the issue when he arrived at Spring Training, which slowed

his preparation.

Manager John Schneider says, Yessevage is feeling better now, and will keep following his

ramp up plan, though there's no set timeline for his return.

This adds to the Blue Jays pitching woes, coming right after Schneider revealed that Jose

Barrios has a stress fracture in his right elbow, and won't.

Be ready for opening day.

Yessevage impressed in his big lead debut last September, going 1-0 with a 3.21 ERA over

three regular season games.

He then shown in the playoffs for the American lead champions, posting a 3-5-8 mark with 39

strikeouts in 27, and two-thirds innings across six appearances.

His rookie status stays intact for this year, and the team hopes he can build on that postseason

success once he recovers.
