I'm John Grills from Creepy, and I listen to the Be Afraid podcast network. This is a public safety announcement concerning reports of unusual activity during Halloween trick or treating. Parents are reminded to accompany young children and inspect all candy before it's consumed. Residents are also advised not to answer the door if the same group of children return more than once. Several neighborhoods have reported groups appearing at the same residence multiple times throughout the evening. The children are described as normally dressed and will behave. They do not speak. They simply hold out their bags. In each reported case, homeowners provide a candy and watch the children leave minutes later the same children return. Doorbell cameras show something different. The first group leaves normally. The second group walks backwards towards the street without turning around. Authorities have been unable to identify any of the children. If a group returns a third time, do not open the door. Turn off exterior lights and remain inside.
Do not acknowledge knocking. And if you hear children outside counting the pieces of candy they receive from your house, do not look through the windows. Several residents have reported that children stop counting whenever someone looks at them.
