Triston Casas' Rib Injury: More Setbacks for Red Sox

On April 1st, Boston Red Sox first baseman Tristan Kosses hit another snag in his rehab.

Manager Alex Kora shared the news after Wednesday's game, a 6-4 loss to the Houston Astros.

Kosses, recovering from a ruptured patellar tendon from last May, now deals with a left-side intercostal strain in his ribs.

It happened a few days ago while swinging a bat, so they've shut down his hitting for now.

This year, before the knee blew out, he was batting 182.

Now, with Wilson Contreras holding down first base and outfielders filling the designated hitter spot,

Kosses has no guaranteed role, waiting.

The red sock's lack power in the lineup, so if he gets healthy and recaptures that form, he could slide right back in.

The team sits at 1-5, heading into Friday's 2-10 PM Eastern matchup against the San Diego Padres.
