Trump calls for unified Ireland during historic visit

0:00Donald Trump has made waves during a historic two-day visit to Ireland. The US president proclaiming he wants to see the island of Ireland unified. Let's go to Europe correspondent Isabel Mullen on the Irish West Coast. Is he the president's weight in a very touchy topic? Well, this is a really difficult topic to weigh in on. To be fair, to Donald Trump, his comments came in response to a direct question made by a journalist on the ground, asked Point Blank whether he'd like to see a unified island, unity between the North and the South and Protestants and Catholics, to which he responded, yes, he has spent most of his day at his own luxury resort on the West Coast of Ireland in County Claire. He is preparing to present a trophy at the Irish Open tomorrow. Those sensitive comments made in one of those bilateral one-on-one meetings with Prime Minister Michael Martin.

Now, before that comment was even made, thousands of people had gathered on the streets in Dublin to protest Donald Trump's arrival, frustrated at the Trump administrations, foreign policy, tariffs and even Donald Trump's personality.
