A Community-wide US Intelligence assessment before the Trump attack on Iran concluded that the Iranian government was unlikely to be destroyed by outside military force. As with the Iraq war, the US Administration chose to ignore the advice of its intelligence analysts and embrace the advice of the neocons. Also today, Trump launches new Latin America military coalition.

The spirit of this revolution is not going away.
This is the Ron Paul Liberty Report with Ron Paul, Daniel McAdams, and Chris Rossini.
We're all ambassadors of the Ron Paul doctor, and it's us all.
Just tell the truth.
The spirit of this revolution is not going to stop by any army for any government.
Hello everybody, and thank you for tuning in to the Liberty Report.
With us today we have Daniel McAdams, our co-host.
Good morning Dr. Paul, how are you this morning?
I'm doing fine.
Let's talk about how we get into too many wars.
That would be a long duck conversation.
It's not by following the rules or common decency or morality or the constitution.
But we do have a backup.
We have an intelligence community to go and find all the secrets and keep us out of trouble.
And they've been around a long time.
But they don't seem to do the job.
They come up with a lot of stuff.
But sometimes you think, well maybe they're encouraging these instead of stopping these wars.
But anyway, once again, though, the intelligence community has been found and said that that's the easy job.
I get rid of the government over around.
It looks like they were right.
But for some reason, our administration did not pay any attention to them.
Here we are in another mess.
Another mess that the question is, how long is it going to last?
How many will die?
How much is it going to cost?
We already have some bad figures.
I think we're just into a week or so of this war.
And yeah, it seems like we learned nothing.
Because I could point out to so many examples of getting into these wars.
For instance, we worked hard on trying to stop, was the Middle East War.
And we're still suffering from that.
We're back in there.
In that country again, we never left in a way.
Anyway, we see this, but we do find out that at least there's the admission.
The US intelligence community assessed that massive US attack unlikely would oust the already energy.
Why do they do it?
Yeah, I mean, I think it's really important, Dr. Paul.
We can put that first one up.
It's all over the place.
This is just zero hedges.
It's estimation.
It came on the Washington Post over the weekend.
There are so many reasons why this is important, Dr. Paul, but essentially what it is,
and we'll get into exactly what this report is.
But you know, as you know, there are two sides of the intelligence business.
There is a covert action side where you go and you do stuff.
But the biggest side is the analysis side, because we want to know, like, will this work?
What are these guys doing?
I mean, all of this stuff, the analysts are the people who really are the backbone.
And really, that's the only group we should have.
We shouldn't have the other ones.
But anyway, they got together before the war.
They gained it all out.
They look at all the possibilities.
And they concluded that an attack like this is very unlikely to give you a regime change.
Nevertheless, President Trump ignored that information, or he wasn't shown it,
which could be even more troublesome.
And the result is that we are now neck deep in a new war,
costing us over a billion dollars a day.
The thing that struck me at first, Dr. Paul, is that this is exactly what happened
in the run-up to the Iraq war.
As you remember, people inside the Pentagon afterward saying the intelligence was being stovepiped up.
So when you were coming through with a report saying this is going to be a cakewalk boom,
it went straight to the president.
But if you came with any kind of news like, hey, this may not go so well.
Cragmire, going to lose a lot of lies, boom, it went into the circular file.
So this is a real problem that obviously has not been solved,
even as we added layers of intelligence.
And the whole new intelligence body has not solved the problem.
And you know, it has happened before, where not exactly who told them what.
But by now they should have enough brains that these efforts,
the military efforts, haven't worked too well.
Especially if you look at, you know, North Korea is still communist.
The Vietnamese, we left there with our tail between our legs.
After billions of dollars spent, many lives killed.
And then what about Afghanistan?
20 years we were there.
And we were still in these places.
Middle East war, how much was accomplished there?
So there's nothing at all.
So I just think that they never seemed to learn anything.
And it's disgusting.
And some of the conversations that we've documented here
about the hawks who want to go to war,
sort of makes you sick because, you know,
it doesn't make any sense what they're saying.
And it doesn't solve the problem.
And they're so clumsy about, oh, you know, well,
we don't need to follow that rule.
Yes, they look like survivors.
But they're, they're the enemy.
And they're, you know, they're trying to survive out in a little boat.
They blast them up and kill them.
So I would say that the one thing this whole process has done is they've eliminated
any invitation that you're a lot of have a sense of morality
when you're engaged in these wars.
And there was a time there was a little bit more, but the whole issue of war
is basically very, very inviting to the people who don't want any rules,
any morality, you know, slogans,
to keep people more reserved and not get involved in all this mess.
Yeah, absolutely.
Well, let's get a little bit into what this assessment means.
If you go to that next clip now,
you'll see a person that many of you may recognize,
Tulsi Gabbard is the Director of National Intelligence.
And this is from the article.
The report was compiled by the National Intelligence Council,
and I see roughly a week before the war began.
It concluded that in our highlight this Iran's political system is structured
to survive even major leadership losses,
the Washington Post reports.
However, this should really come as no surprise to anyone awoke,
awake and observant enough the past two plus decades of America's nation building efforts
in the Middle East from Afghanistan to Iraq to Libya, as you just said, Dr. Paul.
But as we know now that they are right,
the political system is structured to survive two decapitations one last June
and one now at the beginning of this war.
And there's no signs of weakness and their ability in the cohesion in the country.
Go to the next one.
And this is important.
The report also poured cold water on the idea that Iran's opposition could quickly fill any power vacuum.
We could have said that and not even been intel officers because you have the rally around the flag effect.
We've seen millions of people in the street in Iran all throughout the country
supporting the government.
And the opposition remains to divided to seize control equally unlikely according to current
and former US officials familiar with the analysis is the prospect of a spontaneous nationwide uprising.
We could speculate this possibly may have a chance some degree of success within the opening one or two days
of the mass US Israel bombing, but it clearly did not materialize Dr. Paul.
So the intel committee, you know, we criticize to the intel community, but they got this right.
They get a lot of things right and they're just ignored when they do.
You know, all this effort that they put into the weaponry and the arguments and the killing and all.
You know, there's always an ongoing war.
You would think that, you know, the two party system might help.
You know, one group may be anti-war and the other one, the opposite.
But the political wars go on all the time.
And there are other visions that they're getting more vicious all the time.
But they have it and then they have an election.
And there's no change. It's the same thing.
So we have these physical wars and military wars.
We have all this fighting and killing.
And then nothing really ever changes.
You know, Murray Rothbard argued and I tended to agree.
He says the only, and I've heard it many times, that the only war that we've been involved with,
that people had a little more liberty than they had prior to it, was the revolution.
Ever since that time, all these wars, so these wars here, it has nothing to do with national security.
That's radical and they'll make fun of something like that.
But I'd like to see how they could prove because they have the information.
It would be a benefit if they kept them from going to war.
But if it teaches them just to lie better, to hide what he is.
Don't, like we mentioned, they don't let the reports out there that tells the people that there's a good reason why this is not going to work.
And right now they say, yes, but the devotion and the explanation of a successful,
this administration has been a really out of this world.
They're just thinking it's the most fantastic thing in the celebration of the death and destruction.
And just watching it, they're on a different wavelength than I think most Americans,
even now would not be if they knew all the details of how these wars go.
That's a good point. All the details, even of this war.
Because you remember back during the Iraq war when they embedded journalists with the troops.
And you were very suspicious back then because there would be pressure on these journalists to not report negative things,
not report anything that they feel may hurt the troops.
So that was a negative.
However, what we have now is far, far worse, which is this there is no reporting.
There's no reporting out of Israel that have heavy censorship.
We're not hearing anything.
And of course everything we've seen about the US bases destroyed in the region.
And every single one has been hit or destroyed.
And a lot of them had American troops.
We're not hearing the true story about how many American deaths they are.
They're keeping it from us.
So we have a censorship probably as strong as Israel's right now in us seeing what's actually happening in these wars.
How long has this war been going on?
A week.
Okay.
We've lost six people.
Eight.
No.
And they report that and talk about it.
And it's serious.
What's he going to admit?
It's glorification.
It's wonderful.
They're saving our republic.
But if they didn't do this,
what would happen is that the whole thing would be called to task them to people who do not.
They don't report.
You know, they don't know how America is like.
How many?
I wanted to guess the way to do this.
How many people have our bombs killed in an undeclared war that has had nothing to do with our national security?
And just to say World War II.
Since the World War II, how many people have been killed?
No, not just American soldiers on the field.
But why aren't the other people killed?
You know, yes, there's bad people on all sides.
And there are some bad people in Iran.
But for us to go overboard and just kill hand and rack them up and say,
how many people did we kill today?
How can we get a weapon that can kill more people with less cost to it?
It's a cost ratio that they're looking for.
It's that sort of nauseating.
It is.
Well, you know, John Mirschheim, who spoke at our most recent conference,
I had the one before that, actually, two years ago in DC.
I don't have the clip queued up.
But I saw this clip earlier.
He was being interviewed about that exact question you're asking.
And he said from 1971 to 2021, the US murdered 38 million people.
So when he goes through the details, it not just directly,
but through sanctions and these sorts of things.
So that might be an answer to the question.
I do want to do a shout out for a super chat.
A poor man kind gave $5 and he said this is on YouTube.
He said, I came home from Afghanistan broken.
God bless you, Dr. Paul.
Your ideas give me hope.
So that's a nice one of our viewers here.
And thank you very much for the contribution.
But let's go back to that story and go to the one.
Meanwhile, the White House has not said, I know you're running ragged back there,
but we've got to get through some of this.
Now this is important, Dr. Paul.
And I alluded to it earlier.
Meanwhile, the White House has not said whether Trump was briefed on the assessment
before approving the operation.
But likely such an assessment would have made it into the CIA's daily briefing
for the president, also given reports from last week that the Pentagon also tried to inject some realism
in terms of the unknowns once Tehran is attacked.
So that's a critical thing.
Did people who knew about this assessment, Dr. Paul, try to keep it from the president?
I think that would be treasonous.
But the other option is that he was fully aware of the fact that this is not going to work.
And he said, I don't care.
I'm going to do it anyway, which is maybe also treasonous.
You know, that may be more acceptable when they won't report an alter, you know,
what the people are knowing about.
But what if you talk straight forward and tell them the truth, you're more likely to be fired
and considered unpatriotic and you don't love America?
Yeah, we know people that that happened to in the Iraq war.
You know, bad things.
Karen Kutowski, a good friend that happened to her with the Pentagon.
Well, speaking of good friends, our good friend, Larry Johnson, he did a piece
over the weekend, Dr. Paul, about this, because as you remember,
so this was leaked to the Washington Post.
We tried to warn him this wouldn't work.
He didn't pay attention.
So Larry Johnson, because he's been inside, he's a career CIA counterintelligence officer.
And so he knows how it works inside the building.
Go to this one, sonar 21.
This is his blog.
Of course, everyone should read it.
I won't read the exact word, but he says the US intelligence community is covering its rear end.
What is really going on with the war on Iran?
Go to the next one, and I'm just going to read this for a second,
because this is an insider who knows how it works.
And I think he, I know that he's hitting at the truth here.
This means the war in Iran is not going well.
That's what he's saying because of the leak.
And the US intelligence community is beginning the Washington game of don't blame me.
I warned you not to do it.
You know about that, Dr. Paul.
He continues.
I don't know if Tulsi Gasser gathered authorized this leak,
or if it came from senior analysts from the four principal agencies that were involved in writing this classified report.
IE, the CIA Defense Intelligence Agency, State Department's Bureau of Intelligence Research in National Security Agency.
It's important to understand that this report was produced by the National Intelligence Council, aka the NIC,
and it is under the direct control of Tulsi Gabbard.
In any event, I see this as a clear signal from people involved in producing this report
that they will not be the scapegoats when the Iran war turns into a debacle for Donald Trump.
And that's very interesting, yeah.
That's what he is saying.
It is a statement of where they are, the losing support.
Yeah, and they're trying to cover their rear end.
And the people seem to have since exactly what that report is telling
that the polling shows the American people are less enthused.
Matter of fact, I don't think they've ever been enthused.
Can you just think of all these people, they've heard all these stories about Ukraine.
Ukraine is such a ridiculous story.
And he goes on and on.
And they're convinced that they're doing the Lord's work.
They keep doing it, but that is changing.
Common sense is coming about.
And that's hope we see a lot more of it.
Yeah, absolutely.
Well, one of the things about ignoring these things, Dr. Paul,
is that you have, you can't just say that I wanted the regime change
because they said what you knew was not going to work.
So President Trump keeps changing the rationale.
I counted four or five times over the weekend that he made contradictory statements
about why he went in.
And that, to me at least, says that he's getting worried
because it's not working.
Now, I'm just going to show a couple of them, Dr. Paul, just from X.
If you go to the next one, this is AFPost saying,
President Trump said he's not interested in negotiations
to end the war in Iran.
Arguing negotiations won't be necessary.
If he kills all of Iran's government and military,
President Trump's goal for the war in Iran is regime change.
Contrary to what both Vance and Rubio have publicly claimed about the war
from its onset.
So it is regime change, even though he knows he's been told
or he should be told that it's not going to work.
Now, if you go to the next one, this is the Washington Post.
And I didn't talk to you about this before the show I meant to,
but I'm sure you read about it.
Army units move trigger speculation as U.S. plots next step in Iran war.
The 82nd Airborne Dr. Paul, they canceled scheduled exercises.
And there's a lot of speculation now that they are getting ready to deploy to Iran.
Both.
Yeah.
Our stories.
It is.
And so go to Marjorie Tenergrain.
She was on with Marina Bartololo.
And no, she wasn't, but Karen Levitt,
so I'm getting ahead of myself here.
The president's spokesperson was on with Martin and she says,
and Marjorie Tenergrain comments,
Caroline Levitt doesn't rule out a draft.
She says, and if you watch the clip, we're not going to watch that's essentially what she says.
A draft, Dr. Paul, how about this answer, Marjorie Tenergrain says,
no draft, no boots on the ground,
because we can't paint on no more foreign wars or regime change.
Lies, every single one of them,
not my son writes Marjorie Tenergrain over my dead body.
So it's very, very passion, but they're saying we can't rule out a draft.
There's something very interesting about her,
because she's the one that resigned from Congress over an issue.
Usually that meant, well, she lost that fight,
and she's leaving.
You'll never hear another thing.
Her boys became louder.
And because she has challenged the administration on this more issue.
And she, from the very beginning, she was strong, strong Trump supporter.
So she did shift her positions,
and fortunately for us to have a boy's like this,
it's much closer to hours than it was before.
Yeah, absolutely.
No, it's terrific.
Well, the other, now the changing rationale,
looking to just do two more.
Do that times of Israel, because it's interesting.
So he's four regime change.
No, he's doing something else.
He's not for it.
Now, Mass Blumenthal, our friend also speaker at a previous conference twice.
He quotes from times of Israel.
And he says, Trump tells Israeli media
that he will not end the war on Iran without Israeli consent.
He boasts that, quote, we've destroyed a country that wanted to destroy Israel.
And Mass Blumenthal comments,
so the US president proudly admits he's authorized destroying a country of 90 million
for Israel.
Essentially what he said.
And then here's another rationale.
If you go to the next one, he said President Trump said Iran was planning to take control
of the entire Middle East and was close to launching an attack.
No evidence for that.
But again, another bizarre assertion on his part.
Now, we're going to skip the other video ones,
but I do want to play that final one.
Because to me, Dr. Paul, he seems to be getting a little bit more unhinged.
Just play that final video clip.
You might want to put your earpiece in and listen.
This is a, there's no video, but it's an audio.
And in the audio, they're asking him about the US attack on the desalination plant in Iran.
Now, listen to his answer.
That allegation that the US had to be under arrest.
Most people, people.
Ever order.
They cut baby's heads off.
They chop women in half.
What they did, take a look at October 7th.
Take a look at what they've done over the last 47 years.
So I know nothing about a desalination plant other than to say.
Planting about the desalination plant that we can plant about the fact that they should be chopping babies heads off.
Okay.
You know, which is absolutely bizarre because Iran wasn't involved in October 7th.
We know that no babies heads workshopped off women were not cut in half.
Someone is feeding him this very, very bizarre stuff that he's,
he keeps regurgitating over and over.
Seems like he's losing it.
You know, our friend, David Stockman, he actually, I think he posted in response to that.
Saying, J.D. Vance, you need to look into your duties on the 25th Amendment because he's losing it.
And it sort of looks like when you look at that anyway.
I think others have observed that too.
There is a difference.
There was one minor thing that I observed because he was giving a press conference.
And maybe I'm off base on this because it doesn't mean a whole lot.
He walked down the corridor and he did fine.
He had some staff.
But it was, he spent, you know, a long, he always has a long press conference.
But he did it sitting down.
Yeah, that's interesting.
And he generally does it and he's up there and goes on and on.
But that means nothing other than my office.
Yeah, you never know.
I mean, it's taking a toll.
Has it worked to anyone?
Well, I wanted to just talk a little bit about the second topic, Dr. Paul,
that you noticed on hedge.
And as if war in Russia and Ukraine, war in the Middle East is not enough.
We got to do a little bit more.
Let's go on Trump announces military coalition with Latin American leaders.
Dr. Paul, they are going to eradicate the cartels.
Poor.
Finally.
You know, they're still working on it.
They tried to get rid of the cartels that existed back in the 20s and the 30s.
You know, they actually, you know, had made alcohol illegal.
And they changed the Constitution to do that.
And guess what?
They didn't eliminate it.
It got bigger and worse.
And then the whole problem is that they couldn't wait to get rid of that prohibition and a war on the cartels.
But this whole thing about the eliminate of cartels.
My comment is the head of the line, of course, was announces military coalition
with their 12 countries.
And I thought, my first comment says, guess who will run it?
And guess who will pay for it?
You know, because this is something that Trump sort of enjoys.
And he said, on this historic day, we come together to announce a brand new coalition
to eradicate the criminal cartels.
Well, you know, he's not going to do that.
If he could, it wouldn't work.
And the whole thing is, it's militarism.
You know, yeah, we want cooperation.
Can you imagine if you could have had 12 countries come together
and they had 12 libertarian leaders of the country?
And guess what?
We all want to devise a system of trade between all countries
followed by the free market and sound money or something like that.
No, it's always going to be militarism.
And I think this is not going to work.
Because I know darn well, this is intended to be something
another creation from our president to be in charge of this.
I'm in control.
Now I proved it.
You know what we did in Venezuela?
We took care of that problem.
And that's all settled.
And we'll just see all the oil pouring out of there.
And no time flat.
We'll see it.
And drive the price of oil to...
Oh, what do you mean drive the price of oil to?
He went and got involved in another one.
It's $100 a barrel.
No.
Oh, can't be.
Yeah.
No.
It's a system of government that doesn't make any sense.
It doesn't make any sense.
Well, I do want to thank one of our superchadders for buying a $49.99.
Super sticker.
I've not mastered the art of reading your handle right now.
But it's at Jill.
And I can't read the rest at this moment.
But I do really appreciate the support cute little sticker too.
So thanks to all our superchadders.
Really like that.
Now let's go back to this article.
Including the possible use of missiles to combat the cartels.
That's stood out to me, Dr. Paul.
What missiles?
We don't have any left.
That's the first thing.
That got me about that.
But go to the next one.
The event called the shield of the America's summit.
It's taking place at the Trump National Doral Club in Miami.
The first regional meeting with like-minded allies.
They're all right wing governments from Latin America.
We're going to do some incredible things together.
Trump told the leaders.
And here's the other thing he said.
You know, in January, they captured Venezuelan leader Maduro.
Kidnapped, I would use the word.
But listen what he says at this other meeting, Dr. Paul.
If you go to that next one.
Cuba is at the end of the line.
Meaning they're going to take out Cuba too.
He said at the event.
Adding that the regime in Havana is negotiating with him
and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Right.
He said, but our focus now is on Iran.
So they're going to take out Cuba.
I had some clips of Lindsey Graham saying all this stuff.
But I don't think we want to watch him this morning.
It's a little too rough.
First thing Monday morning.
You know, this is a positively amazing how they handle these things.
I do want to finish up though with one other thing.
I wanted to mention about the foolishness of the free trade business.
If it's sad, it's been known for many years.
Economists have accepted the principle.
If you don't trade and trade goods and services,
there's a sort of a unwritten rule.
You end up trading bullets.
And there'll be armies crossing borders.
And I would say pretty much that.
It's the case.
Just think there's been a lot of militarism in the last several months and several years.
But also there has been a lot of sanctions put on.
You can't do this.
You can't do this.
But guess what?
What followed?
There were more troops following going across borders.
And the other day, I think it might have been yesterday,
that Vincent Bessent says to the U.S.
me, un-sanctioned Russian oil.
So they chopped up the trade, put all these rules on,
put on and on, putting on these sanctions,
and chopping up any sensible thing to get along with people.
Then they go and say, oh, now we're in trouble.
Maybe those sanctions, no, they don't even say that.
They would never admit that the sanctions had anything to do with it.
Too many other problems.
But I thought, well, this sort of makes the point.
The free trade is a good idea.
And I'll tell you, sanctions aren't good.
And I don't think we're going to get very foreign to those programs.
But in spite of it all, there's people.
We've mentioned a few things where people are growing.
Disenchanted with all this warmongering.
And for a very practical reading, we're broke.
We're out of money.
And the people are starting to recognize that.
And then they say, well, why is, you know, if we're out of money,
how can we pay for the oil at $100 a barrel?
Oh, we borrow the money.
We'll print the money.
Don't worry about that.
There'll be a lot of money.
But we know value to your dollar.
And that makes a big difference.
Can I just make one point before you close out, Dr. Paul?
I'm sorry to do this.
But I just, just this morning, our tickets finally went on sale.
We had to reorganize a lot of things about our conference.
Obviously, because it's going to be a little bit different
or a lot different than I had planned.
But if you can put up that last clip over the weekend,
we've been in a frenzy making a logo and a look for the conference.
It's going to be called war is back on the menu.
Kind of an edgy look.
April 25th.
Coming up soon in Lake Jackson.
Get those tickets quick.
It's a smaller venue down here.
So we have less seating available.
We're going to have some great speakers.
I'll start announcing them very soon.
But this is a critical time.
And we need to be discussing this.
So war is back on the menu.
Ron Paul Institute Spring.
2026 conference.
April 25th, 2026.
There is a link in YouTube and Rumble.
There's also one on Dr. Paul's.
Ex account as well.
Get some more information.
Get those tickets and come down and join us.
We need to talk about these wars.
So sorry, Dr. Paul.
Sorry.
Very good.
And I too want to recommend attending our conferences
because it's the source of us being able to spread our message.
We consider it very important.
And there's one rule though.
When you come to a conference,
you're supposed to have a lot of fun because you'll be with allies.
And the fight for liberty.
What a thank you for tuning in today to the Liberty Report.
Please come back soon.
Thank you.
