Good morning, everyone. I'm Emily Duchensky, host of Afterparty and the Megan Kelly wrap-up show on Series 6M Channel 11. It's Thursday, September 10, 2026, and this is your AM update. One election night, we're going to prove that America does not belong to those who hate it. America belongs to those who love it. President Trump taking center stage at the GOP's first ever midterm convention, rallying Republican voters with control of Congress on the line. The A.I.s are basically doing the rogue, sky-net behavior. I know this sounds crazy, but it is not. The people building the world's most powerful A.I. systems now warning their own creations could wipe out humanity. A new investigation alleging Benjamin Netanyahu was warned of a major Hamas operation, days before October 7th, and a former attorney convicted of trying to shoot his ex-wife at point-blank range in an attack captured on camera. Feel that in more coming up in just a moment on your AM update.
Imagine this. You're surrounded by fellow fans, sharing wings, sharing drinks, high-fiving random strangers. Everyone remembers the game, and no one remembers the guy coughing behind you until a few days later at 2 a.m. when you wake up with a fever and your throats on fire. Now what? Urgent care? Closed? ER? Hell no. Telehealth? Maybe, but the pharmacy's closed. That's where a medical emergency kit from the wellness company could come in. These are not first aid kits. They contain essential prescriptions used for over 30 common conditions, sinus and ear of infections, UTIs, stomach bugs, travelers diarrhea, and more on hand before you need them. Use your doctor-developed guidebook to select the right prescription or call their telemed doctor standing by. It's like an urgent care and drugstore at home. On your sick, traveling, or stranded, you could have used a medical emergency kit, order online in minutes, and it is shipped to your door and saved 45 bucks with our promo code

President Trump taking center stage in Dallas last night, delivering the opening night keynote address at the Republican Party's first ever midterm convention. President using the historic gathering to make his case directly to voters, with control of Congress and the future of his agenda on the line in November. Mr. Trump seeking to energize the Republican base at a challenging political moment with a recent Reuters Ipsos poll placing his approval rating at 33 percent, the lowest of his presidency. Mr. Trump drawing a sharp ideological contrast with Democrats, vowing the United States will never become a communist country. In this election, the Democrats have nominated the most extreme and dangerous group of candidates for the House and Senate ever to seek office. These people are radical left communists. But America has beaten communism before and we will beat it again. We've beaten it before.
But these are people who do not care if your country is invaded by illegal immigrants. If your home is burglarized, if your parks and city streets are turned to filth and squalor and debt, if your loved ones are pushed in front of a subway train in New York City or stabbed in the middle of a field in any state you want to pick, they don't care because they hate our country and they are Democrats and they're very, very wrong. On election night, we're going to prove that America does not belong to those who hate it. America belongs to those who love it. But we're not going to let the communism happen, not here, not in America, not in our 250th year. Mr. Trump urging his supporters to approach November as though his own name were once again on the ballot. When I'm in the ticket, Republicans always do very well. We won the presidency three times.
But for some reason, when a president wins, even if he's really a good president or a great president, there aren't too many of them. They don't win the midterms and nobody quite knows why. It's something deep down and psychological. We can't let that string be broken. So I'm asking you to pretend that I'm on the ballot. I'm on the ballot. I'm on it. Just one more time. Because if we lose, you're going to lose your border, you're going to lose your tax cuts, you're going to lose your safety and security. Speaking in Texas, the president throwing his support behind Republican Senate nominee Ken Paxton. Democrats have dominated James Telefrico for the Southern. Telefrico authored a plan to annihilate Texas oil and gas. That's good. I'm working my ass off to get you oil and gas and I got a guy that wants to end it. Would Texas be willing to end oil and gas drilling?
He stated that he wants to totally dismantle capitalism, dismantle. Quote, capitalism. He described himself as a person who hates Christianity, says that God is transgender. He called the American flag a complicated symbol of hate, claimed that the 10 commandments are a form of fascism and when he was asked what he loved most in the world, he said, I love transgender children. So getting back freedom-loving pages of Texas are going to defeat Telefrico and elect Ken Paxton to protect the load-starced. Looking beyond the midterms, Mr. Trump outlining his priorities for the remaining two years of his term. We'll make all Trump tax cuts permanent so that the Democrats can end them. And we'll pass the Great Healthcare Plan. We call it the Great Healthcare Plan to stop oil government payments to the big insurance companies. We will make it legally impossible for any future president to destroy our country by having
the right to open the border again. We will pass a no invasion of our country act. And we will win the war on fraud and we will end no cash bail and institute the death penancelly for large-scale drug dealers, human traffickers and murderers of our law enforcement heroes. And one way or the other, before or after, if it has to be after I hope it's before, November 3rd election, we will pass the Save America Act. The president also paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, with today marking one year since the turning point USA founder was killed while speaking at Utah Valley University. So exactly one year ago tomorrow, a far-left extremist assassinated my great friend and conservative voice Charlie Kirk. Because Charlie Kirk spoke the truth. What shocked millions of Americans was not only the fact that Charlie was murdered as bad
as it was, but also how many people made an excuse for it or cheered for it. They were cheering. People, sick people. For a brief moment the mask came off the radical left and you saw what they were really only all about. And now those same people are trying to get power over you in this election and they are all voting Democrat. Okay, they're all voting every one of them and you can't let it happen. We will not let them win and in Charlie's honor, I just want to say we love you Charlie. The two day convention continuing tonight with Vice President JD Vance addressing the crowd before the president returns to deliver the closing remarks. One former and two current researchers at one of the world's leading artificial intelligence companies now sounding the alarm about the technology they helped create. Warning the race toward more powerful AI could end with humanity losing control. Jacob Coxson announcing his resignation from Anthropic this week after spending the
past three years conducting AI research at both Anthropic and Open AI. Coxson writing on X quote, neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving super intelligence and gambling with our lives. Super intelligence referring to the still theoretical point at which an AI system becomes more capable than even the most intelligent human minds. Coxson warning those systems could soon quote, hack anything, revolutionize any field overnight and acquire real power and resources. He claims the researchers building those systems privately acknowledged the stakes. Writing quote, the people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade. This is not a marketing stunt. Coxson arguing many employees at Open AI have not fully grasped the potential consequences. While Anthropic understands the risk but continues racing to reach super intelligence first because its leaders reportedly do not trust competing companies to develop it safely. He is now urging AI researchers to reject the idea that the race to super intelligence
is inevitable while raising the possibility of a temporary ban on further advances in model capabilities if companies and governments cannot reach an agreement to slow down. Two senior Anthropic researchers then publicly backing his central warning. Evan Huber who leads Anthropic's alignment science team writing quote, Jacob is correct here. We really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans. I personally think it is greater than 10 percent within the next decade. Huber you're adding that he believes the danger from today's publicly available models remains low but warning Anthropic does not yet have a plan for keeping a super intelligence system aligned with human goals and is not clearly on track to develop one. His primary concern involving so-called recursive self improvement where an advanced AI begins improving its own capabilities, potentially allowing it to become more powerful at a pace its human developers can no longer follow or control. Anthropic scalable oversight leads Samuel Marx adding quote, AI developers believe their technology could cause human extinction or similarly bad outcomes.
This could happen in the next few years. Axios noting critics have long accused Anthropic and open AI of exaggerating the potential power of their own technology to increase their valuations and encourage regulations favoring the industry's largest companies. The warning so ever following several documented cases of AI models behaving in ways their developers neither requested nor anticipated. Open AI acknowledging last month that models undergoing internal cybersecurity testing circumvented controls intended to isolate them from the internet communicated through unauthorized channels, exploited vulnerabilities and compromised portions of open AI's own infrastructure and systems belonging to the AI platform hugging face. In AI saying those models were operating with reduced safeguards while announcing tighter security and greater monitoring in response. Center for Humane Technology co-founder Tristan Harris yesterday on Fox News saying the danger is not limited to American AI companies pointing to similar warning signs emerging from China. That when Anthropic is calling for all companies to stop down and evaluate that's how
disturbed they are about this. And I imagine on some level China is they are taking all in-conversing controlling society does not want this either. That's exactly right and when we were I was last with you in May and I talked about how China's model also went rogue. It started during training hacking out of its system and then started mining for cryptocurrency when no one programmed it to do that. Again China's models do this our models do this. This moment is like the August 6th 2001 memo that hit President George W. Bush's desk saying that al-Qaeda was planning attacks in the U.S. This moment is the AI's are basically doing the rogue sky net behavior. I know this sounds crazy but it is not. This is the moment we'll be half to act we need someone strong enough and brave enough to do something about this right now. The warnings arriving is public concern about artificial intelligence continues growing. A new NBC News poll finding 70% of American adults are now more worried than excited about AI. With roughly two thirds saying the technology poses a high risk to society. And opposing the construction of an AI data center near their own community.
Coxon will join Megan Kelly later today on the Megan Kelly show. Coming up is really Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatening a lawsuit over a disputed report claiming he received advanced warning of a major Hamas operation before October 7th. And a former attorney convicted after trying to shoot his ex-wife at Point Flank Range inside a crowded restaurant. Our sponsor the electronic payments coalition says Washington politicians are always getting in your wallet and that now they're messing with your credit card. They say your credit card and the security it offers are under attack and that senators Dick Durbin and Roger Marshall want to change the nation's payment system to benefit corporate megastores like Walmart and Target at the expense of everyday Americans. Credit cards can keep your payments secure and provide rewards that families use to help make everyday purchases more affordable. The electronic payments coalition says the Durbin Marshall mandates would let corporate
megastores cut corners on credit card processing routing transactions over cheaper untested networks with weaker security and fewer protections. A new investigation from the Israeli newspaper harretts alleging Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu personally received advanced warning of a major Hamas operation before the October 7th massacre. The report published Tuesday claiming the president of the United Arab Emirates warned Netanyahu about the potential attack ten days before it happened. Netanyahu categorically denying the story announcing yesterday that he instructed his attorneys to file a libel lawsuit against harretts journalist Shlomi Al-Dar and others involved with the report. The Prime Minister calling the allegations a quote malicious fabrication and quote sinister libel intended to influence next month's election. Harretts reportedly basing its account on three senior foreign sources familiar with an
alleged 45 minute call between Netanyahu and UAE's president. The claims remaining disputed and not independently established with the New York Times saying it could not confirm the reported call between Netanyahu and the UAE president. According to the report, Benzayed warning Netanyahu that then Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was preparing a major operation against Israel. The UAE president reportedly fearing the operation could kill large numbers of people and trigger consequences across the Middle East, including damage to the normalization agreements between Israel and several Arab nations. Netanyahu allegedly responding that the intelligence available to Israel pointed instead toward possible Hamas activity in the West Bank while expressing confidence in the country's ability to respond to whatever developed. The alleged warning reportedly originating with a Palestinian intermediary who maintained contacts with both Hamas and Israeli security officials. During one reported exchange, Sinwar using the Arabic word Zilzal, meaning earthquake, to characterize what Hamas was preparing. The later allegedly boasted to the intermediary that an unprecedented and frightening operation
was coming. The information eventually reaching both the UAE leadership and Israel's Sinbete security agency, with the message reportedly delivered to Sinbete on September 15th. Then Sinbete director Ronan Bar subsequently briefing Netanyahu about Sinwar's warning. Israeli security leaders gathering two days later to consider how the country should respond. According to Harretz, Bar presenting officials with two possible responses, carrying out an immediate operation against the perceived threat or reinforcing Israel's security posture around Gaza and the West Bank. The meeting reportedly ending without a course of action being selected. According to the investigation, Bin Zayed deciding to contact Netanyahu personally after Emirati officials concluded Israel had not responded adequately to the information. Bar and then Israeli military chief Erzhi Halivi, both reportedly telling Harretz they were never informed about the alleged call between the two leaders. The newspaper separately alleging that Egyptian intelligence chief Abbas Kamel delivered another warning to Netanyahu during roughly the same period, describing signs that Hamas was
preparing an extraordinary operation. Netanyahu allegedly maintaining that conditions in Gaza remained manageable, with Israel's immediate security focus directed toward the West Bank. Netanyahu's office calling the report quote, an absolute lie, insisting he neither spoke with Bin Zayed during the period in question nor received a warning from him. Netanyahu now saying reviews by his office, Israel's National Security Council and his military secretary found no record of the alleged conversation. His office adding that if the UAE possessed any relevant information, it would have been shared through intelligence channels between the two countries. The UAE foreign ministry neither confirming nor denying the alleged conversation, saying it does not comment on media reports or speculation involving discussions between world leaders. The ministry adding that the UAE and Israel maintain open lines of communication and that relevant intelligence is shared when necessary. The dispute emerging less than two months before Israel's national elections has questions surrounding what Netanyahu and the country's security establishment knew before October 7 became a major campaign issue.
For opposition party leaders now citing the report as they renew their call for an independent commission to investigate the attack, when Netanyahu's government has resisted creating such a commission. A former Ohio attorney now facing up to 25 years in prison after trying to shoot his ex-wife at Point Plank Range inside a crowded restaurant. Alucas County jury last week, convicting 43-year-old Matthew Xton of attempted murder, two counts of Fologna's assault and several accompanying firearms specifications. The attack unfolding in April of last year during a soft opening at Sabira Restaurant in downtown Toledo. According to Alucas County prosecutor Julia Bates, Xton first had a drink at the adjoining soup restaurant when he spotted his ex-wife, Kate of Alone, dining next door with her parents. Xton reportedly entering Sabira and ordering another drink to be delivered to their table, then spitting toward the family as he walked out. He later returned with a loaded handgun heading directly toward the table. The surveillance video showing Xton standing over his seated ex-wife, extending the gun
toward her face, and apparently trying to fire. In the weapon failed to discharge, Xton pulling it back and appearing to manipulate it before a waiter rushed him from behind and tackled him to the floor. Other employees and diners then joining in to restrain Xton until police arrived. Investigators later determining the safety was still engaged with one round reportedly in the chamber, and seven more in the magazine. Go to Megankelli.com to watch the shocking security footage from the incident. X-wife, Vellone, breaking down on the witness stand, as she described the moment she thought her life was over. He made a b-line right for our table, and he took a gun out of his freaking coat. And he pointed it right at me, and I saw his figure moving and I saw his eyes. I saw the frustration in his eyes when it didn't go off. Xton testifying in his own defense and acknowledging that he thrust the weapon toward Vellone's face,
while reportedly insisting he never intended to pull the trigger. Xton claiming he merely wanted to frighten his ex-wife and to move faster on the sale of their former home in Michigan so he could collect his share of the proceeds. The jury convicting Xton of attempting to murder Vellone, along with Vellone's assault counts involving Vellone and her mother. Jurors acquitting him of the remaining assault count involving Vellone's father, who testified that Xton never pointed the weapon toward him. The trial becoming nearly as chaotic as the attack. According to the Toledo Blade, Xton repeatedly interrupting prosecutors during their closing arguments at one point shouting the word gun and making gun pointing gestures toward a prosecutor. Judged Gary Cook reportedly sending the jury out of the courtroom several times to warn Xton about his behavior. The former attorney now scheduled to be sentenced September 21st. His Ohio law license suspended shortly after the attack. That'll do it for your AM update. I'm Emily Jashinsky, host of Afterparty. Go and check out more at AfterpartyEmily.com.
