Trump says he's taking more aspirin than his doctors recommend

In a wide-ranging interview with The Wall Street Journal published in January 2026, President Donald Trump confirmed he takes 325 mg of aspirin daily for cardiac prevention, which is four times the standard 81 mg "low-dose" typically recommended by physicians for his age group. 
Trump, 79, acknowledged that his medical team would prefer he take the smaller dose but stated he has maintained this 325 mg routine for 25 years and is "a little superstitious" about changing it.
