House on Thursday.

He's expected to ask for her help in the war against Iran, mainly more ships to clear

minds and protect tankers in the strait of Hormuz, which Iran has mostly closed off.

Earlier this week, Takaiichi told Japan's parliament that her country hasn't received an

official request from the United States.

He's checking what Japan can do within the limits of its pacifist constitution, but the

war isn't popular at home.

Trump has criticized allies for not stepping up, with countries like Germany, Italy, and

Spain already ruling out any Gulf involvement.

Experts say this makes the visit tricky for Takaiichi, who hope to focus on security ties

and threats from China.

Meanwhile, Japan might discuss co-developing missiles to restock U.S. supplies depleted

by the Iran and Ukraine wars.

Japan also plans to join the Golden Dome missile defense program and highlight its diplomatic

ties with Iran as a possible path to peace talks.

Takaiichi is set to announce another $60 billion in U.S. investments, part of a larger $550

billion commitment to ease.
