Trusting government is a fool’s errand

So many people today blindly trust government for everything from healthcare to education however with their track record have government actors earned that trust. Hello there everyday Americans Paul Engel here with the Constitution Study where we read instead of the Constitution teacher I can generate should be so glad you could join me today you know it's this interesting thing that I've seen more even over my lifetime in this idea that government goes from the man the the one never to be trusted to well putting

1:06blind faith that that government will do everything right and simply because you get a government paycheck you're pure as a wind-driven snow and and never need to be any sort of oversight. Now one of the ways I see this you may be surprised maybe find it interesting is that the role of government has changed you see you ask most people today and it appears they say that well the purpose of government is to protect the American people but you go back to the Declaration of Independence is that why government to create it? No that's a secure these rights governments are instituted among men the purpose of government is to protect our rights so that we can protect ourselves and as we become dependent on government actors for our own protect as we literally delegate our own safety into the hands of government actors well what's the field saying you know when when seconds matter police are minutes away that's kind of what we end up with and the latest example is a Detroit suburb known as

2:08West Bloomfield Township where just a few days ago there was an attack on a synagogue. Now according to Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard the armed suspect drove into the building down the hall before he engaged in gunfire with the synagogue security team the vehicle sent a large cloud of black smoke into the air visible to neighbors in the area. Now the suspects in front of the vehicle died but at the time of the reporting Mr. Bouchard could not confirm if it was from the gunfire or the fire that actually engulfed the vehicle after the crash. Now thankfully no children or staff were injured during the incident but again I want you to notice you to attack on a synagogue and let's face it the Jewish people have been attacked enough that they tend to take their own security pretty seriously so when this person who by the way

3:12start out using a car not a gun to kill people right everyone says we get rid of guns all the violence goes away well this kind of proves it's that that's a lie he used a car to breach into the into the compound into the building when he then started using the gun but he was stopped by security guards. Now the lead security guard was hit by the car and he was taken to the hospital but thankfully his injuries don't appear to be life threatening and in another example of well why you can't trust the media I see two different stories on this one claims that the the murderer right the person that made the attack was filled with a a gun laden truck through the front door of the synagogue they're claiming that there are reports that the gun was loaded with improvised explosive devices while another one says listen we brought in dogs but they they they they're

4:16explosive sniffing dogs but they don't say anything about finding them so I'm not sure if there were explosives in the vehicle or not my point is think of it this way the when when this guy smashed his car into the front door of the synagogue there were people which I'm I believe was actually hosting a a a Hebrew school right when they talk about focusing on children there were security guards that were ready to defend the children and the important thing was yeah police showed up and that's that's good I'm glad police showed up but just think of what could have happened in those minutes that it took for police to show up so I'm I you know these are a group of people who decided we will defend ourselves and we expect the police to come help us and another perfect example so the FBI now is gotten involved here why has the FBI got in investigating this well it involved Jews

5:22now I take a look at the constitution and I don't see federal jurisdiction over any criminal event that happens to involve a religious minority was this a target active violence against the Jewish community most likely right I say I only say most likely because well these haven't been proven yet in court we were dealing with evidence it's still fairly early days I would say the odds are very high but you know I'm I'm not certain yet because well this guy could have just had some you know a beef with the the children in the school maybe his his ex-wife was had a child in the school I don't know there's could be other things it's why I say it's most likely but I want to notice this is a community designed to be prepared to defend themselves and they're not the only one I remember a couple of years ago when they were having the the the the church shootings including one right here in

6:25Tennessee our church obviously they people were concerned about this because it gets a lot of attention and we formed our own security team and I was asked to leave the team and the first thing I did I told them is we're not going to focus on a church shooting because the odds of a church shooting are very very low let's start by focusing on the things we're more likely to encounter and then those will fold into an incident whether it be a a church shooting or some other scenario so that's what we did we developed plans to deal with everything from medical emergencies to tornado or other weather event to a fire and it was all about in our case finding getting people to a safe place and having people who had thought about it ahead of time so that when the emergency happened they weren't trying to figure it out on the spot we have plans

7:28we have rally points we have roles at different people play and it's all about that proper preparation now should an active shooter come into our whether they they're pissed at us for being Christians or they've got an incident they've got an issue with somebody in the the church itself our basic policy still provide right where's a safe place there are people who have their their job is to find what the safe place is and that specific situation and how guide people to that place while others may or may not engage a threat somewhere else right that's that's the basic I don't want to go into too much because well basic security right I don't want anybody that says who will go after Paul's church because we know how these things go that's for for the point is we prepared the synagogue in Michigan had prepared and we expect government to support us not to do it

8:32for us in other words we're not going to sit there waiting for the police to show up if something like this God forbid but if something like this were to happen we're not sitting around waiting for government to show up we will deal we will protect ourselves and expect government to come support us as quickly as possible so that that's part of it right it's just your your playing physical safety if you're depending on government to keep you safe God help you because you're never really sure are you going to get the police in national Tennessee when there was a shooter a murderer in a school they quickly got together figured something out and went into the school to stop the threat or is it going to be the Texas school where the police actually crater perimeter did not go in to try and save children and in fact prevented parents from trying to go in to save children which government attitude will show up when you need them most don't get me wrong I fully support police and fire and and EMTs that run towards the threat

9:42I don't denigrate them but you know I also tend not to call them first responders because hopefully they're not the first people responding to the threat right you respond to the threat and then the police come in and the fire come in and the ambulance comes in they do great work and I don't I don't denigrate them when they do their job properly but if you're sitting around waiting for someone else to respond you're in a very dangerous situation and now here's another reason why and we're going to stay in education one right we're in another reason why I don't trust government right what did Ronald Reagan say the the the nine most dangerous worlds in the English language are I'm from the government and I'm here to help there are now 17 states that have filed a lawsuit against the United States Department of Education because they have a policy requiring colleges and universities to collect data

10:43that shows that they're not considering the race in in the students admissions now there's a little bit to this let me explain back in 2023 the Supreme Court filed it in an opinion that was supposed to end affirmative action in higher education in other words colleges and universities were not to use race as a predominating factor in admissions right if you have two students that are applying the the students race should not impact who gets the the slot this by the way was supported by Donald Trump signed an executive order establishing a policy that raised concerns at colleges and universities were still using basically personal statements and other proxies to race in other words they didn't come in and mark the race of the student but they would use these these other tools to kind of uh okay you

11:46didn't say you're black but it certainly sounds like you're black so we're going to consider that as we consider in incomes and in response to that the federal Department of Education said listen schools and universities you have to show us that you're complying with this this I want to call race neutral admissions now the memorandum demanded that these schools provide information including the acceptance rates enrollment figures incomes average applicant grade point averages and standardized tests or SAT scores by race and gender so yeah we want you to follow by race and gender now I I agree with part of what President Trump wrote when he said race-based admission practices are not only unfair but also threatened our national security and well-being um that's what security may be a bit of a stretch but yeah well-being however

12:49she went on to say and I disagree with this it is therefore the policy of my administration to ensure institutions of higher education receiving federal financial assistance are transparent in their admissions practices well there's a basic fundamental problem here the federal government is not authorized to provide federal assistance to higher education look throughout the constitution United States that power is not delegated to the United States therefore under the 10th amendment it's reserved to the states or to the people and no don't give me the general welfare clause because it says article one section eight clause one congress law of the right to link collect taxes incomes duties exposing in in in post and exercises to pay the debts provide the common defense and the general welfare of the United States not of individuals not of individual states so it's the general welfare of the union but that's not what we're doing here this is looking at saying well we're trying to give better so this whole thing if you're dependent on government for

13:52this well then think of it this way so let's say uh yeah you believe race-based admission practice they're unfair the court has said they're unconstitutional did they stop no the kind of one underground well Donald Trump's doing something yeah what happens when Donald Trump's not in office Biden didn't do anything about this Biden promoted racial discrimination why why should we not expect somebody in the future to do that now let me ask you know so if it's not the government's going to do it what can you do well see it's real simple you look at the at the data from the student from the schools and say hey are they basing it on race yes i'm not sending my child there and funding these these illegal practices if you're not going to follow the law if you're not going to follow the constitution i don't want to support you it's a responsibility that as citizens we should be taking on just like our own safety our education is something that we should be

14:56controlling we control our student our children's education the government if it's constitutionally allowed maybe there to help meaning your state may provide public schools your county may collect taxes to help fund those public schools those are constitutionally authorized by the state constitution then they're there to help you they're not authorized by the federal government because they don't want the government of Washington controlling all the education so that's not legal but it's also they spend less time seeing it's trying to to help you and more time trying to tell you what things are going to be like so yeah your trust in government i believe you're out of fool's errand and i've got more examples of that coming up but before i go there i have to take a break now i talked before about the declaration of independence and it says that the government is instituted to secure our rights not to keep us safe they're there to secure our rights that we

21:15sometimes they do it on purpose sometimes they just think that they know better and get to tell us how to live our lives and if there's one place where that happens oh so often it's california or california's i like to call it in the latest example the the california had a policy there's a california school that had a policy that prohibited school personnel from informing parents when the students requested a change to their gender their quote unquote gender identity at school right if a student came in a girl came in says hey i want you to call i want to be a boy i want to put me down as as a boy i want to attend boys classes i'm a boys gym class uh you know and whatever the school prohibited was prohibited from telling the parents this to me is a very important foundational question because it's really who owns the children who is responsible

22:18for radiance you know who gets to make the decisions about the children and in california they say well it's the state we get to decide we're concerned that you know you might discourage a child from change pretending to change their gender so we can't dare tell you that that well you might disagree with the child well that case went to supreme court case called mirror belly versus bontan i'm writing an article on it but the short version is um yeah guess what uh no you you you this state doesn't have the authority to hide that information from parents um reading from the opinion plaintiffs alleged that california's policy permitted disclosure of a student's gender transitioning at school only if the student consented plaintiffs claim that these policies violated their rights under the free exercise clause of the first amendment and to do process clause of the 14th amendment okay let's start with with a couple things here because first of all

23:18this is not a first amendment issue congress did not make this law it's not a first amendment issue however it is a due process clause of the 14th amendment because children are raised by parents the court has recognized this for decades and to say that the parents are not at liberty to raise their children as they see fit that denying them this critical information denies them that liberty is a violation of the 14th amendments due process clause clear and simple now justice on the court did say well you know uh there the parents are likely to uh uh succeed in their for their free exercise clause their first amendment uh uh uh uh clause their first one claim uh because judges apparently can't read the constitution anymore they're more interested in what other judges say than actually the document they claim to they took an oath to support to uphold and defend but you know i come back to this question so we we hand our children over at so many of us hand our children at five years old to a government actor and say you raise them and then we're shocked

24:25shocked when they actually not only raise them but claim that they raise them not the parents that their decisions overrule those of the parents how safe is your are your rights then because now you have you have the government raising your children determining molding the next generation and um well the court says no but who's going to enforce it okay let's stay in california because the trump administration has sued the state of california specifically the uh the transportation department the US transportation department sued the california air resource board in district court in california claiming that the the carb rules um ovilate federal law right that they are illegal and preempted by federal law now listen again calm me for you this far as i'm concerned this is kuku la la land is not just uh you know lost angeles but let's point something out here first of all

25:30the federal department transportation doesn't legally exist i know that sounds crazy but listen me for a second the constitution does not delegate to the united states the authority to regulate transportation only interstate commerce so this law that created the department transportation was not made pursuant to the constitution and the supreme court has decided on at least three occasions right marbury versus madison x part a seabold norton v shell b county that an unconstitutional law is void therefore the transportation department doesn't legally exist but they go on right so this let's pull we've got the federal law the supremacy clause wait read the stupid supremacy clause article six clause two this constitution and the laws the united states made in pursuance thereof and treaties made which have made under the authority the united states shall be the supreme law of the land so tell me what if the federal government is not authorized to regulate

26:31transportation if they're not authorized to regulate emissions or environmental issues then that federal law was not made pursuant to the constitution therefore it is not the supreme law of the land and does not preempt state law again i think california and their resource board i mean i think it's actually kuku but i don't live in california i don't have a say in california laws and rules i don't but that doesn't mean that because i dislike it i'm going to expect the federal government to illegally go in and fight all this i'm kind of curious i guess i did they've they've sued in district court we're kind of have to see how this goes because if there's one thing i've observed over the years is lawyers ability to twist simple logical truths into theoretical pretzels to try and get the outcome that they want well though you know the the vehicles that are regulated by car they passed through interstate commerce therefore

27:35congress can regulate them didn't get no congress doesn't have the authority to regulate everything that passes through interstate commerce only the interstate commerce itself so will we get judges that actually know what the constitution says not likely will we get judges that actually follow their oath of sports constitution i'm not holding my breath but this shows what happens when you trust government actors when you aren't aware of what the supreme law of the land says to begin with and you simply follow along with government actors because remember courts are the third branch of government they are government actors and i can't tell you how often i hear people say well we'll just sue we'll just you know put our future in the hands of a court often too i should say too often based on a lack of understanding of the constitution or laws or decisions you know just kind of a a um i want to say this idea that you know well i heard it on the i read it on the

28:35internet or i heard it on a program and therefore must be true and not actually following through and again you're putting your trust in in government i another perfect example and and this one i'd love to see explored a little more deeply in criminal cases you have a right to assistance of council right six amendment it says nothing about that council being approved by the state so when we have you know laws that say well in order to actually be a council in the state you must you know take this law class and you must pass this test and be accepted by this this private organization that's all governments creating barriers to entry for someone that may be able to give great council but they haven't been brow beaten into the the mold that government actors want them to be but i want you to remember well the first amendment protects you from congress

29:37prohibiting you from seeking a redress of grievance petition the government for a redress agreements by the way something they did in the national vaccine in for an injury compensation program in the the prep act they did it and we keep following you know people fall on i can't tell you how many times they hear attorneys saying well you know we can't sue because of this law and i'm like read the constitution it violates the first amendment why won't anybody argue that that's what happens when you put your trust your dependence on government actors and too often they're more interested in their own agenda than anywhere else now that doesn't mean that courts always get it wrong uh for example uh West Virginia uh they're allegedly to put a ban on on covering using their Medicaid dollars to cover uh the so-called uh transgender surgical procedures right from using surgery to assist people with gender dysphoria and of course they

30:41got sued how dare you not you'll use government stolen dollars that were illegally appropriated embezzled from the American people and then use them for this politically protected for idea of that men can become women just because of some cosmetic surgery but once again the twisted and convoluted method of coming to this answer nearly shows how dangerous it is to let governments go without any oversight see the fourth circuit panel the fourth circuit judge I heard this um I didn't say that well let's say you know the the didn't say that Medicare was unconstitutional they didn't say that listen states have the right to control their dollars literally what they said in their decision was at a 2025 Supreme Court case what it means that uh that the ban does not violate the Constitution's equal protection clause or the Affordable Care Act um okay let's stop and think of that for a second uh the Supreme

31:47Court doesn't make law they offer opinions so just because the court decided that doesn't mean something is true um the equal protection clause again it may be a valid argument under under the 14th amendment but the Affordable Care Act is unconstitutional uh a piece of legislation it's the only it's the only court case where a single justice wrote both the opinion and a dissent in the same case it's that twisted and convoluted but again you don't have the appeals courts not saying well the Constitution says this is okay they said well a court said that the Constitution said this is okay and a court said that the law says this Constitution you're dealing with judges that aren't thinking for themselves they're simply consuming and regurgitating what some other judge said in some other case with some other other set of facts now the fact that I agree with the ultimate decision doesn't mean I agree with the way they got there another the conclusion

32:49the holding that West Virginia's ban on Medicare funding for these the surgery is constitutional I don't have a problem with that I think that's the right answer but the convoluted twisted nonsense to get there is how so often we end up with bad opinions bad decisions based not in the law the basis some twisted logic that some judge came with came up with at some time and that goes all the way back to again early in the republic remember the Supreme Court once said that a black man had no rights a white man had to honor that illegally detaining people simply because of their their nationality Japanese was perfectly constitutional even though it violated the very the most sacred premises of that document when you put your trust in government you're not always going to get the answer you want and when the answer you want is based on a truly evil and twisted

33:52look at how the judiciary structured how can you trust that you're going to get the right answer in the future is it not a fool's errand because of very same panel of circuit judges that that said yep this is okay here could turn around under the same circumstances on the same set of facts find a completely different answer if they really really wanted to and how are your rights protected then how are your rights protected if they are based on nothing more than uh well then the uh the whim of a bunch of high priests in black robes see that's why we have a constitutional it's why courts have no power as uh uh Alexander Hamilton put it they have neither force nor will but merely judgment and sometimes that judgment is really evil and twisted and you think about it you know so many of these court cases are brought by or supported by organizations that are really they're trying to

40:09suggestions of how we could deal with the deficit and I saw this interesting article it was actually on the federalist and it made me think about certain things let's start with a a a look at the conventional budget office projections they're anticipating a one point eight five trillion dollar deficit this year alone like you have to understand you know humans have a hard time with really big and really small numbers so the best description I had is if you were to take a hundred dollar bill and you were to stack hundred dollar bills on top of each other they're just laying down flat stack look if you were to stack a trillion dollars worth of hundred dollar bills they would be taller than the orbit of the international space station one point eight of those is how much money the federal government spent that it didn't have this year alone that was after doge after all these things were going to get rid of waste there's still one point eight trillion dollars

41:13spending more than they they take in and that's number that number is expected to accumulate to be a over twenty three trillion dollars in deficits over the coming decade now decades ten years so if you got twenty three trillion in a decade that means they're averaging two point three trillion dollars decade meaning the deficit's gonna get higher so how could we fix I mean no family I know could survive long running deficits in that level what what could we do well first you have to recognize that the federal government has certain things it's got to spend money on that not all of them is what Congress thinks they are but they do have what they call discretionary spending the things that the government not legally obligated to spend that's one point eight eight trillion dollar this fiscal year meaning yep we could wipe out our deficit we just have to get rid of all discretionary spending unfortunately that includes funding our military which I think would really be a bad idea while we're at war with Iran it would include defunding border security which would

42:18make the progressives very very happy uh education transportation interstate highways federal prisons national parks national institutes of health and much more that would all be gone and we could balance this nonsense out what about the health care programs right uh medicaid medicare obama care exchanges the children's health insurance program all illegal unconstitutional programs but they also consume 1.9 trillion dollars this fiscal year so that could take care of our deficit but the big bugaboo most people think about is social security now again social security is a Ponzi scheme established by the federal government back in the nineteen i think it's 30s 20s or 30s and it was the idea of you give us money to invest to uh so you'd have a retirement account money which the federal government never invested that they just spent somewhere else and require more and more people to pay in to pay out their social security now this costs 1.66 trillion dollars

43:18this fiscal year that means even if we got rid of sole security we would still run a deficit but i want you to think about that so you've got major medical programs you've got so retirement programs so security things the federal government's not legally authorized to do and they're wasting two and a half trillion dollars a year on these illegal programs that's not including the the illegal programs in the discretionary spending yeah um houston i think we have a problem now of course when it comes to dealing with money you know congress has the power to lay and collect taxes congress has spent you know authorizes spending of money and the problem we run into is congress is often more worried about a political partisanship than they are in their actual jobs that's why we we have this quote unquote you know dhs shut down i say quote unquote because dhs isn't really shut down uh but

44:20this whole thing is ridiculous so you have the democratic party that's pissed with ice and border they're angry because well they're actually enforcing uh federal immigration law and sometimes i believe they're doing it badly but they're that's their job so in order to punish the trump administration for actually enforcing federal law they decided they're not going to fund the department of homeland security even though ice and border patrol have already been funded through the big beautiful bill act so yeah you're not you're not harming uh ice and border patrol the ones you claim to be upset with but you are harming other things that like the the transportation security association administration that they know those people that like to group you with airports uh by the other illegal unconstitutional entity right graded by congress and uh in recent reports which they've been going without they've had partial pay they've been going without pay some

45:23of them and um at this point uh more than 300 TSA agents have uh quit they quit because of this critical partial shutdown um according to a post from dhs on on x our hardworking TSA officers are again being forced by the democrats to work without pay for the third time in nearly six months um yeah that's because governments are really bad at handling money uh they're really bad at handling security they're really bad at handling uh just about everything they put their hands to but again this partial shutdown whatever you want to call it is not a a fight over uh TSA it's it's a pissing match over ice and um uh things like well they don't want ice to our military style uniforms they're okay with every other law enforcement wearing military not ice um they don't

46:25like the fact that they wear a mask even though ice agents have been doxed repeatedly which is why they're trying to keep their their identity secret because their families are being attacked uh both physically and electronically because the a family member happens to work for ice now listen if we had reasonable uh we had intelligent people that were actually in congress they would look at this and say listen if we don't like the way ISIS operating we need to pass a law to stop ice from doing the things we don't think they should do you don't think ice should be wearing mask pass a law you can't pass a law well then it's up to you to find enough support to pass this law to make it palatable to enough people to make enough of a compromise that people will go along with you no in this case we just gonna uh have a temper tantrum and no it's not just democrats republicans have done this in the past as well it's literally uh i don't know

47:31if somewhere between brinkmanship and uh extortion to get a political outcome and sadly that's pretty much how the government works nowadays it works by bribery it works by extortion so this is really nothing new now i got one more i want to look at and this is a senate bill uh recently passed it was of course bipartisan support it passed 89 to 10 which means reach for your wallet ladies and gentlemen the government's coming for your money what are they how are you at this time it's called the the road to housing act and it's supposed to well they'd say make housing more affordable now i want you to remember each and every time congress has passed a law trying to make housing more affordable we end up in a housing crash right the 2008 housing crash was created by congress forcing banks to issue basically paying them to issue bad loans and then reprimanding them when they didn't issue these bad loans so how is congress supposed to make housing

48:37more for since congress doesn't regulate the cost of housing how are they gonna make it more affordable of course you read the articles oh it's it's gonna boost the housing supply it's gonna bring down costs it's gonna rain in bad guys it's it's supposed to be it's gonna ensure that families can buy homes it's got a lot of rhetoric it's mostly BS barnyard substances a friend of mine likes to call it so what does this thing actually supposed to do well at one point it claims to cut red tape for environmental reviews well that actually would be a good thing that would be a way to lower housing costs is to get rid of some of the ridiculous red tape but that's not all it does so they want to offer money they want to offer grants to us this state local and tribal governments to create regional housing planning oh central planning has never been a bad idea in any of the things that that we do they they want to require the federal housing administration another illegal unconstitutional federal agency to increase

49:41loan limits for multi-family properties so we want to increase the loans that we didn't we try that once before and we ended up with again with the housing crisis there's a a movie out where they went through that the the big short I think it was and they they actually showed the crazy stupid programs put in place by the federal government that led to the the housing crisis the housing meltdown they also claim to ban large institutional investors from buying single-family homes this the federal government has no legal authority to do that doesn't not going to stop repassing a law and the idea is interesting because so they assume that when in when big companies buy tracks of land now where I live there's a lot of old farmland and not a lot of farm families anymore so developers come in these institutional investors and they buy up that land and they make houses they build houses on it which they then sell to people oh no we don't want to do that we

50:43want the we want the uh uh supposedly you're going to make housing more cheaper cheaper by making it harder for companies to build houses in land in it with less area land um yeah this allegation that that this program is going to make uh housing more affordable I predict just like with everything else the government touches it'll make housing less affordable remember the affordable care act it was supposed to make your your health care more affordable and now health care premiums are what triple what they were when the act was passed I expect something very similar with this remember when the government said hey you know we'll we'll guarantee loans with ridiculous people have no income but we'll guarantee a mortgage for them and ever the pros you know first housing prices crashed and now then housing prices exploded it's funny we know the the house the farm that that we bought my wife and I bought 10 years ago now I got people offering three times

51:45what I paid for it now I don't know if they'd actually settle for that you know but I'm getting people telling me this worth more than three times what we paid for it does that sound like making housing more affordable now I I predict I predict that these programs by adding more red tape by continuing to distort the market are actually going to lead to more expensive housing why well just take this one example of institutional in so um somebody come out here they buy an old farm and they chop it up into say two three acre lots and they build a modest home on it and they sell it for a modest price and now you have more homes in inventory hey isn't that great but Congress wants to prevent that they don't want the institution to come in which means they want somebody come in and buy the whole farm but that costs a lot of money and if you're gonna buy if you're gonna own a whole farm well um for you're gonna put a single family home on it

52:46now you have a hundred acres of land that could have had 15 20 homes on it now it has one how does that make inventory greater you got a bunch of idiots to think they know how markets work they think they know how real estate work they have no clue it's political nonsense ry but that's what happens when you trust government to do the right thing governments made up of people those people have their own agenda and often that agenda leads to our pain it's a fool's errand and it's one that we've seen so many times we're like you know we're like Charlie Brown right we still believe that government Lucy is gonna hold that football for us so we can kick it no matter how many times they yank the football away we keep believing they're gonna do it it's insanity according to Einstein doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different outcome so will we recognize the fool's errand I doubt it history says it's quite unlikely
